10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Sonetos do Tejo is in a lovely position close to the park in Vila Nova da Barquinha and close to the riverside walk. We were met by the owner Jacqueline Henriques, who couldn’t be more helpful or hospitable. She has renovated the house from a complete wreck of a building. It’s amazing to see what the property was like when she bought it! It was a very welcome retreat while we were walking the Caminho Portuguese and is less than two kilometers from the route north. The weather was very hot and the house was cool and spotlessly clean. The rooms are beautifully appointed, named according to the colour of the bathroom tiles and bedroom. The shower was very good with high pressure and lashings of hot water. The breakfast was very tasty and really set us up for the next days walking. I wish we had eaten here in the evening, as I would guess the meal would have been better than the one we ate elsewhere in the town. We would heartily recommend staying here!
Cons: Absolutely Nothing!

Pros: We were there during Golegã horse fair. Peak season, we paid much more money that value of property, we knew. Clean place, good location, big beds.. average for 3start H. But extremely clean! Good for that.
Cons: Just a feeling.. If I needed something (more coffe at breakfast or a clean towel) I had to ask like a real favor, not just like a politely way. Strange sensation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place. The manager is so welcoming and nice. The village is surprisingly nice and the place is wonderful. Don't think twice, it's a wonderful place to stay on your way from Porto to Lisbon or after visiting Tomar and the area.

Pros: Its a family run country guest house. We stayed for 2 nights with the intention of visiting the National Horse Fair in nearby Golegã. The house is about 13km from the fair. It is a pretty, the rooms are a confortable size and exceptionally clean. The breakfast is very good. Almourol Castle is nearby and it is easy to walk to, very picturesque with a boat trip (3 mins) to reach it. Also not a bad restaurant down the road. The room was confortable and there was heating (it was winter).
Cons: Heating in the communal areas (we went in the winter).

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was outstanding! The food was home-made, the fruit was grown in the farm and was excellent. We loved seeing the animals of the farm as well.
Cons: The rooms were hot. They had air conditioning, but it would have been nice if the air conditioning had been switched on before we arrived, so that we could have switched it off when we went to sleep. Sleeping with the flow of air of the conditioning is neither comfortable nor healthy.

Pros: Everything was very clean and quiet. There was airco in the room.
Cons: The arrival was a bit strange. A man waited for us but he had no information about our reservation. He also had a bit a strange behaviour. When we left we didn't see anyone and we had no instructions about what to do in the morning. We just left the key of our room somewhere and left the hostel. And no, we didn't leave very early. I was reading a lot of good things about hospitality in the reviews. We can't agree with that. The bed was too hard.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our lovely hostess Amelia was welcoming and gave us a tour of the restaurants. She was lovely and took wonderful care of us.
Cons: We love to walk so directions to trails would have been nice but we found them anyway and had a lovely time.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The house is lovely, very clean and situated in a quiet area of a quiet town. The room itself was relatively small but perfect for one night. The en suite bathroom was spacious. We hadn't specified our arrival time but when we got there we called Paulo and within 5 minutes Emilia had arrived to let us in, show us around and make us feel welcome. This was the last night of our tour before heading to Lisbon airport. The reason for choosing Constancia was the closeness to Almourol castle and the distance of only 125 kms to Lisbon airport. I had wanted to see the castle for some time and was not disappointed - but please note that the last boat back from the castle is at 18:30. We just made it! Contrary to other reviewers, we had no issues at all finding the house. We entered the address in our Sat Nav and were taken right there. Paulo had also sent very good directions right after our booking was confirmed and we had those with us. There were no issues parking close to the house, free of charge. The post-office is nearby, as per the directions from Paolo. Next to it there is a park where there were oranges falling off the trees! We tried one and it was really delicious! This is the only place we stayed this trip where we also got a follow-up mail thanking us for staying which was very nice.
Cons: Although both sides did their best with French (we unfortunately do not speak Portuguese), Google translations, etc. we had a little misunderstanding with Emilia re. whether there were other guests staying in the house - we understood there weren't, but there were and by leaving the key in the door (which we thought was a good safety measure. We had been specifically asked to lock the door!) we managed to lock other guests out but due to the intervention of Paulo (who speaks good English) by phone all was solved! We were not offered the option of breakfast on the terrace. There was just one large table in the dining room for all the guests. I am sure the breakfast was lovely but I wasn't feeling great that morning so only ate a minimum. Didn't want to offend Emilia after all the trouble she went to preparing everything for us! Beware of the fact that the closest motorway to Constancia is the A23 which is electronic tolls only. We did not go for 'Via Verde' as we were in Spain most of the time and thought it would be easy to avoid these 'electronic' stretches in Portugal. Despite paying attention, we did not see any warning signs and on our last day we got caught out and are awaiting post from the Portuguese authorities! No fault of the hotel, obviously, but maybe worth mentioning.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location very good, very clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great room, comfortable beds and superb breakfast. The highlight was Jose’s réception. I arrived by train at 10:30 in the morning as I could not continue on the Camino Portugues due to blisters. Jose said “no problem your room is ready”. Clearly this was hours prior to the normal check in time. Due to Jose’s thoughfullness I was able to rest that day. I will never forget this kind gesture.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the host, his kindness making take away breakfast packs for our early departure.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Impeccably clean, spacious and recently renovated rooms. Basic amenities provided. Friendly staff at the property. We arrived late from a wedding and were given a late breakfast served at around noon, which was truly nice to have. Plenty of parking space on the streets nearby.
Cons: Room was accessed outside of the property, facing the main street, which was awkward. To have breakfast or to access reception, you have to walk on the street and enter a gate on the other side.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is a unique property in an unprepossessing town. It has both rooms and stables and is busy during horse show season. We were the only guests that night and were greeted by a pleasant gentleman who took care to see we were settled in. We had picked the area at random so were pleased to find such a well run, quirky place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful lodgings in a beautiful little town. One of the very best places i stayed in Portugal.

Pros: the location is fantastic with great views through Tagus river and the valleys. the property is refined and sophisticated with great history behind from XVII century. Great decoration and attention to details also, like crossing an aisle on a small chapel just to reach one of the rooms. the building is well surrounded by the pool and the garden with an exquisite sun orientation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect place to relax. Staff/owner are very accommodating and spoke English well. Not much to offer in the town of Constancia regarding restaurants, so we always eat at the restaurent at the Qunita. The decor is amazing, incredible antiques through out and tastefully done. The pool is lovely and well maintained. Beautiful bucolic views in every direction. The Chapel suite is large and has a walkway that overlooks the Chapel. We live in Lisbon so we have been there several times for week-end get aways.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: There wasn’t anything not too late but it isn’t in a major centre so we couldn’t stay longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was very good and the staff, especially Manuel, were very helpful. The facilities and breakfast good and the restaurant good too (dinner for four) Our suite was very spacious and the private chapel a surprise! Manuel recommended a restaurant in Abrantes (15 mins) with a shuttle service for the day the on site restaurant was closed
Cons: On site dining only on Friday and Saturday
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A unique/perfect place to relax! This old convent/quinta is very well kept and beside the special historical atmosphere, is also offering all the comfort demanding travelers expect. We thank the friendly host for the warm welcome and care. We appreciated the tranquility of this beautiful quinta, the bright room with amazing view over the area, the tranquility and the excellent breakfast (including Greek yoghurt, fresh fruit and juice), good coffee, cheese, pastry, etc. We already traveled a lot in Portugal and have put this quinta on our shortlist of top favorites: a place not to forget and to return to!

Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Figs are a speciality
Cons: The pool could have more maintenance
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We liked the room and quiet location. The host was very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. He was also kind enough to offer us a bottle of sparkling wine on arrival. Excellent breakfast. Host provided us with wifi and adapters which was very helpful.
Cons: The location was reasonably easy to find, but it took us 10 minutes or so after arrival to figure out where the front door to the premises was and to raise the owner to let us in. It was a very hot day and so we had to keep the unit closed up to keep it cool as there was no air conditioning.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: the location, the chalet has a lot of space. Nice swimming-pool. Host and staff were very friendly. We could use a bike.
Cons: the chalet could have a kitchenette. Every day same breakfast, stayed there for 10 nights and there was no variety. Not possible to rent bikes.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable rooms in an old family estate - plenty of history and very friendly owner/staff.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location is beautiful, but only accessible by car. The studio was very nice and comfortable, the pool was appealing but couldn't enjoy it as it was not warm enough. Breakfast was nice and healthy and the staff were very welcoming. Definitely a most go to relax and have a few days out of everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This lovely house is well maintained and furnished with antiques. Our rooms were in the main house, but there are also rooms and self-catering apartments in outbuildings. The breakfast was excellent—especially the fig preserves made from figs grown on the property. Our host, Joao, speaks excellent English and was charming and interesting. Wandering through the downstairs rooms was like visiting an eclectic art museum. His walls display old lithographs, family photos, original oils and watercolors, charcoal drawings, and included excellent drawings and paintings by one of his two daughters. Only breakfast is served, but Joao directed us to Os Mais a small restaurant nearby. Very little English was spoken, but the host was patient with us and the food was outstanding. The house is only a short distance from the ancient cities of Tomar and Fatima--fun to visit, but it is nice to go back to the quiet countryside at the end of the day.
Cons: The house is well insulated, but the upstairs rooms get a bit warm on a hot day. They cool down in the evening, but a small fan would have been nice.

Pros: The most amazing family with hearts of gold and nothing too much trouble !
Cons: Would have preferred WiFi in the rooms but I was made very welcome in the dining room any time and served with anything I needed at any time too whilst I worked
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is such a cute spot. Our son enjoyed watch us feed the animals next door. Carla and Nuno were so welcoming and accommodating. The food was exceptional since they have their own bakery and restaurant. This is a perfect spot to stay a few days and enjoy a less touristy part of Portugal. We probably will come back next time and walk around the town when we visit Portugal with less sightseeing itinerary. If you have a car, then Tomar and Torres Nova is close by.

Pros: Fantastic place to stay in Golegã especially when on the Camino route as you have very comfortable rooms for either 2/3/4 of you or shared dorms, clean bathrooms, lovely useful and clean kitchen! We were made to feel so welcome I can’t thank the staff enough! I had the most horrendous blisters from walking and I was seen by a lovely foot specialist who even drove us to a local restaurant after my treatment! Unbelievable!!! So helpful! We loved our stay there ... thank you xxx
Cons: Nothing!!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely place to stay while walking the Camino. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The facilities exceeded our expectations and it was useful to have a place where we could wash our clothes after a hot day on the Camino. The price was pretty reasonable. Nice large double bed. The rooms are very clean and the bathroom really generous in size. Golega is a town with restaurants and bars etc. so we did not cook for ourselves.
Cons: Nothing to suggest

10.0 Excellent
Pros: the room was comfy and very clean the staff were amazing and could not do enough for you the continental breakfast was lovely plenty of choice we stayed in the wheelchair room as my partner is in a wheelchair
Cons: the only criticism is that the wheelchair shower chair is no use for someone who cannot walk as it would be impossible to transfer from a wheelchair to a buffet the shower chair needs to have a back and a side and be more sturdy but for the short time we were there it did not pose a problem my husband managed without having to take a risky transfer from his wheelchair to the shower buffet. The town itself is lovely but there are limited places to eat and on Sunday evening there was only one restaurant open and this was not wheelchair accessible so we could not have a meal on the sunday evening however, the girl on reception did make us some cheese toasties as we were leaving early next day

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, friendly staff, nice rooms
Cons: Mattress was too soft for someone with back issues.
6.3 Good
Pros: Everything about the hotel was "Ok" - it wasn't as I expected based on other reviews. The room was fine, the breakfast was fine and the staff were fine, but nothing exceptional. There isn't much around the area, if you want to eat elsewhere than the hotel, you probably need a car.
Cons: The room didn't have toilet roll and we waited over 1 hour for some to be delivered. The guy at reception was on the phone when we arrived and then proceeded to take another phone call whilst we were waiting to check in. We ate in the restaurant the first night, the staff were run off their feet as there was only one chef on duty but they didn't tell us that until we had waited nearly an hour for our food. These are all incidental things and didn't spoil our experience, i just feel we should be honest.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff, immaculate room with nice soaking tub.
Cons: Nothing, it's a beautiful place. Super helpful staff at the front desk and anointing restaurant.

Pros: Breakfast , very good !! (some portuguese pastries could be added but else than this, perfect). Spacious and quiet room , with air condition. Bathroom very clean
Cons: Just some minor details if I have to find some : At least one extra set of shampoo and bathgel could be added if someone like to shower at night and in the morning. But really minor and it did not bother the stay at all !!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Absolute gem. Highly recommend. Back for 2 more nights having been so impressed with our first stay Such a peaceful magical setting. Old church across street. River walk. Historic village. 9.6 Excellent
Pros: The town is beautiful
Cons: The bed was a bit hard
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was everything excellent: nice staff, nicest view of the old town, perfect breakfast, very big comfortable room with a big bed. The town is very calm and beautiful, many beautiful places and walking, especially along rivers Zezere and Tejo.
Cons: A little bit noisy because of cars and motorbikes coming to the old square during the night time. But it is not related to the hotel directly.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was really great. We were 3 adults and 1 child but the room would be just perfect for a family too. Breakfast was excellent and they ability to check in late was great too. No hassle and a perfect location. So close to good places to eat and just such a pretty place.
Cons: The only negative, and these are not really bad things just little extra. The were only 2 hangers in the wardrobe for 4 of us and not hooks to hang stuff and the there was a lot of noise from others room. But for the price and the location it was a great place
