The Hotel was perfectly fine, although we didn't like Chaves much. The staff were very friendly and the room was comfortable. The food in the Taverna was very authentic and you needed to brave to try some of the dishes! The Reception is across a courtyard from the bedrooms, although their is a tunnel if the weather is bad. Breakfast is also across the courtyard. We didn't find this a problem but others might.
beautiful, spacious calm surroundings. Bit impersonal
A warm welcome, a beautiful room, stunning views and a wonderful breakfast in an amazing location will leave us with happy memories - thank you
way way better then its internet site
Really great place. staff friendly and helpful. great location and hotel was well presented. Not applicable
I felt like a princess in a castle...very rommantic. would make a great honeymoon spot!
Inside swiming pool, breakfast and room were very good. Quiet location and easy access from Porto. No comments.
Really good place. Phantastic show at the casino
Such a nice Hotel! Rooms are great. Staff are well trained, the restaurant is good and, for the "players", there is a wonderfull casino. recomended !!!
Very dificult to find. Desert land around.
I really liked the size of the bathroom and the balcony. It was also very pleasent to get 2 free drinks from the casino. Mostly the staff wasn't very friendly. There were 8 occupied rooms at the hotel and the staff couldn't be bothered in terms of provide us with a decent service. Breakfast wasn't in line with the hotel overall level
Quality of rooms and facilities helpfulness of staff Poor selection of choice on set restaurant menu although quality was good
The dinner and show package was fantastic! 3 courses and unlimited drink included: great value for money!
Excellent room, spacious, clean and well equipped and decorated. The design and decoration of the common areas. The swimming pool. The Casino, especially the Dinner + Show for 20 euros, great value for money: although neither were great, together they were a pleasant experience.
Everything as well Room-service
Extremely nice rooms, staff, pool, all in a beautiful surrounding!
nice location, good concept, but missing the final touch the rooms reserved were not available, it does not mention that half of the rooms are practically interior rooms, games room without games, sitting room / library without light or heating, and as hotel was full, with bad weather guests are practically confined to their rooms
The personnal service was 5 Star and the food was outstanding None !!!!!!
The size of the room and bathroom was overwhelming. The room and bathroom was very clean. The breakfest was good The traffic on the mainroad to Mirandela was quit loud for us. In the hotel are few damping items, like carpets, so you heard much of what was happening in the restaurant
Great hotel. It´s not expensive and a really nice room, breaskfast, people, etc. Nothing, everything it´s good.
Large comfortable room,great shower
Modern hotel with large room on outskirts of Chaves. Helpful proprietor.Although no restaurant a good one is just across the road.Excellent value accommodation. No.
Price situation near of chaves new Nothing
This hotel is located near the city where it was once a walled city in the 13 century. You can drink warm volcanic heated water. The hotel is hard to find using the GPS since its location is not on Rainha Malfada. The hotel is located in a new development and its street is an extention of Rainha Malfada. The hotel is bran new and the owners are very friendly.
Friendy staff. Walks along the river. Centrally located.
The conditions of the hotel, was central, near the river, in beautiful areas for relax and the car garage was very good, avoiding ice on the windows cars' on the next morning. The personel was very efficient and simpathic. On the check-in should be informed about breakfast serving hour.
This Hotel is now a little dated, but we enjoyed our stay
Hotel is a little past its best, but not yet worn out! Staff helpful and rooms functional/basic but very clean and good value for money. Only ate breakfast in the hotel, but this was very good. Outdoor pool temperature was frankly freezing!
Good location, excellent hotel with spacious rooms, big playground.
Other than my comments below the hotel was satisfactory to good. (1)The air conditioning did not provide cold air - I had to open the window to allow cool air in and I was badly bitten by mosquetos. (2) The bed was too hard for my liking - I did not sleep very well.
The air conditioning (very hot, without regulation) and hair dryer (damaged)
The staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed for 18 nights with our 2 year old daughter. The location was excellent right beside the riverside park which is all pram accessible. There were 3 excellent playparks close by. The fridge in the room was excellent as we were able to buy lots of water and some snacks in the nearby supermarket. We enjoyed the pool and went for a swim most evenings.
A beautiful, spacious hotel. A little outdated. Great buffet breakfast.
The helpful, courteous and cheerful staff. The reception staff provided a lot of local knowledge, especially the best roads to use to get to other places. Our room was excellent, well fitted out and thouroughly cleaned every day. Nothing.
Reception was very dark.Staff friendly.Car parking is a public area nearby and does not seem to be a problem. Poorly stocked bar.Could noe offer me a glass of Port!!!Breakfast simple but adequate Recepion area need to be better lit and brightened up
Very good, all the staff were brilliant and 5 stars in everything, when I return to Chaves will definitely stay there again...thank you an excellent stay. The reception staff and cleaning staff brilliant. the single beds ( I usually like a twin bed) but they probably did not have a room available at the time with twin beds
We were made very welcome on our first-ever evening in Portugal, and enjoyed our very brief stay. We would certainly go back.
We had a very enjoyable stay the quality of our room 316 was excellent and the general cleanliness was very good. The staff, though limited were good and efficient. Breakfast was continental style but was constantly replenished when required. The private garage was a bonus. All in all myself and my wife were very satisfied with our stay The bar was closed but this was not a problem as the hotel is ideally located for cafes etc
Middle class hotel with spacious rooms which have partly been renovated. Good location near town centre which is a only 5 minutes walk. Free public parking opposite the hotel. Very kind and helpfull staff. Buffet breakfast included. Chaves is a nice town for visiting and is good location for making tours in the beautiful mountain area.
worm host, worm place. The feeling was like a family..
Town in a mountain location. Only common language was French from the Spanish owner to the English guest - so some fun. Gave free use of his internet. Encouraged us to use his personal garage & facilities to wash / store our soft top car as hotel uses public car parking. Disappointed to find restaurant at hotel promising local specialities was closed. Restaurant within walking distance made up for this with friendliness in hand signals and generosity in nightcaps.
A quiet hotel, friendly family owners. Excellent breakfast, easy internet log-on. Good views. Small village. We enjoyed it for our overnight stay.
The hotel staff was really nice, the room was big and the breakfast was wonderful. No parking
Comfortable, clean and welcoming. Good buffet breakfast with homemade produce. Dinner not available but good-value restaurant nearby.
the room had no airconditioning. Since it was 34 degrees that was a big problem. The bed was very uncomfortable and the room faced a very noisy street. Dogs barking kept us awake. The reception tried to be helpful but no Engiish was spoken. Noise, uncomfortable bed.Problem of communication
Staff were like family and they treated us as such. The casa was restored to perfection. We originally thought of the Casa as just a place to sleep. But it turned out to be one of the highlights of our entire holiday.
This very small, family-owned and run hotel in the charming little town (pop. 1250) of Boticas is a real gem. Anyone who likes making new friends will absolutely love this place. The owners, José Moura and his wife Maria, are two of the most pleasant and likeable people I've ever met. They welcomed us into their home as if we were their best friends. They have lovingly enlarged and restored their 300-year-old family home to make it into a real gem of a hotel. The rooms are large and elegantly decorated. The town of Boticas is peaceful, quiet and totally relaxing. I hated having to leave.
Friendly staff, location of the hotel, stylish big room with bathroom and interesting forniture, windows view and suprisingly quiet place (the hotel was in the centre of Boticas) Limited knowledge of staff English
The friendliness and the hospitaity of the owners it was a real pleasure to meet and have breakfast with Portugese people, always as ever very friendly. Very minor, off site car parking
