Excellent hotel in a very relaxing environment. Very helpful staff and good food at a reasonable price.
Great heated pool The restaurant was not up to par. We arrived after the end of the August holiday and they were kitchen did not seem to be fully operational.
Placed inside the Cazorla Natural Area. Good restaurant for dinner (otherwise Arroyo Frio is at 4km) and reasonable buffet for breakfast. Old style decoration of the restaurant (lots of taxidermist work). Limited paths for walking around, while in the middle of the park. Needs a car to go anywhere.4* maybe a bit too much for the quality of the rooms and services offered (for example, the room did not have a bath, only a shower).
It was well situated and the rooms were comfortable. The Spa was good The Gym was appalling and should be updated. The breakfast was rather basic.
Hotel is good: nice breakfast buffet, but the village where it is located is awful, it's not a hotel fault but... Noisy room. External air conditioning device too noisy, room air conditioning also too noisy. I expected to be in a mountain resort not in a cheap and crowded beach camp. Next time I'll avoid to stay at 'Arroyo Frio', sorry for the hotel.
loverly location, clean. we felt that the rooms were a bit small. also breakfast was cold as eggs and bacon had been out for awhile, although we were forst down for breakfast, would have liked more coffee, it would have been nice if someone had spoken abit of english
All staff were very helpful The spa was very old and not at all like the representation in the hotel web site - very very old
silent backdoor place but not enough signs on the main road and if there are any-they have different name (not as on your web ) there is no asphalte road from the main road to the hotel but poor gravel path. The breakfast is poor,no vegetable at all
Setting was spectacular in the mountains. Spa facilities were great especially hydrotherapy indoor pool (cost extra but worth it) as was outdoor pool and restaurant. Decor in rooms and common areas felt like hunting lodge.
The views were gorgeous. Good food.
The spa facilities are fantastic, but unfortunately it is for an additional price, seemingly a common theme in Spain
Perfect location and excellent spa Room not ready when we arrived, and cannot get coffee ater a meal in the restuarant!! had to go to the cafeteria, also ran out of Tia Maria!!!
Location in amazing landscape, Nice Spa Spa Located outside the hotel , not pleasant while rain
The views from the hotel are fantastic. Wonderful location. The staff were very helpful and attentive.
Staff very helpfull, good food but not cheap, spa excellent, views stunning,in center of the park.Would recommend the hotel to anyone.
The balcony and the views from it. The food was very good Sorry but what we didn't like was the smell in the bathroom and the air conditioning unit on the balcony
The sight, the breakfast, the silence The furniture
We loved the spectacular views from our room and from the terrace. We had some beautifully fresh trout for dinner. We do not speak spanish but all the staff were very helpful and patient with us. Comparing this hotel with similar accommodation in my country (Australia) we thought that it was great value for our money. No
Wonderful location, handy for the Parc Natural. Friendly and helpful staff in the cafeteria and restaurant. As with most of Andalucia - driving and not getting lost too often!
The environment The room was not new
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent location. The cafeteria had two sections, the nearest to the bar being air-conditioned.Unfortunately, this was also the 'smoking area', so if you didn't want the smoke, you had to sit in the heat.
Well appointed ,excellent view ,good parking , excellent food and superb restaurant staff Room was very small
we pass on way and stay one night. very good view, nice tarassa, balcon
Comfortable No fridge.
situation and views stayed media pension but found evening meal poor , it did not include a drink and the add on cost for a la carte was rather expensive for 2 people.
Location. Parking very difficult. The hotel seems to need a bit of refurbishment.
Well furnished rooms, friendly staff, central location. Excellent value for money Wifi and Internet are overpriced. Hostels and many budget hotels provide free wireless -"better" hotels should do the same.
We were looking for a walking hotel for 30 people for next year but with the lack of parking have booked elsewhere.
Good location, nice village, great scenery. Not sure if this is a 4* or 3* hotel! All the paperwork/menus/invoices said 3* and the rooms, although comfortable, were definately not 4* standard.
the setting the balcony glass door was dislocated and the heating system didn't work (it was cold that night)
Quiet, spacious Reception staff were good. But the staff in the cafe and the restaurant were on the whole quite unhelpful, sullen and the quality of say, breakfast was compared to other hotels mediocre, to say the least.
Convenient overnight stop. Lack of soundproofing, the shower, the village of Arroyo Frio.
Nice, big room. The breakfast and the hotel restaurant were poor.
the staff doesn't speak english. poor parking. very poor breakfast, specialky when you don't speak english. you don't know what's on the. menu so they give you toast and butter. no access to computer.
very friendly staff intermittent power failures during stormy weather outwith the control of the hotel
Newly completed to high standard No tea maker in room
It is an excellent hotel: new, clean, in the centre of the city, very nice decorated, the rooms are big and newly furnished.
First class when considering price and expectations. We have no reservations ion recommending this hotel Nothing
very helpful staff
The hotel staff had virtually no English but still made every effort to assist and be understood. The rooms were clean and modern and had a seperate TV seating area.. Breakfast a bit disappointing, you are served from behind the bar rather than a buffet and the staff tended to disappear leaving you with no more than a piece of toast and coffee. The room was clean but there tended to be a drain smell lingering. The room we had was facing the main road and the noise from the local scooter boys was quite high.
The room and hotel in general were beautiful, and the hotel staff was extremely helpful. No one spoke English, but they were very forgiving of my modest abilities with speaking Spanish. Parking was quite difficult, due to the steepness and narrowness of the driveway, but at least they did have private parking (for a fee), so this is a very minor complaint. Another minor annoyance was the requirement to leave the room key with the hotel staff when we left the hotel.
This was our second stay at the hotel, and would still reccomend the hotel to anyone with out reservasion.
Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff (family run); central to Cazorla; good value No
Breakfast was too scanty for us, but on the other hand it was very tasty.
This is a family run hotel. Pedro and his daughter Mercedes keep it spotlessly clean. The bedrooms and bathrooms have been modernised to a very high standard, with a lovely walk in shower. The location is right in the centre of Cazorla where you can choose a number of bustling squares to have a coffee or dinner and immerse yourself in the true Spanish way of life.
A nice, simple and clean hotel. Friendly and eager to help staff Staff mostly did not speak English and communication was limited.
The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The owner was extremely welcoming and helpful. It was really excellent value.
Good breakfast, nice room, free internet, good staff. Good location in middle of town.
Convenient small, quiet hotel recently refurbished to a high standard. Friendly and helpful staff, owner and daughter we presume.
Very friendly staff, very helpfull when there were problems with the parking lot assigment. Nicely located in the middle of the town. The heating was not on and the room was icecold the first night, later the heating was put on only in the evening, which was not sufficient to heat up the room with near freezing temperatures outside...
Good breakfast. Located in a convenient place in the town Cazorla. Seemingly, the wi-fi did not reach all the rooms in the hotel.
The sheer character and ambiance of the hotel was almost breathtaking. Obviously a great deal of attention had been done on the various collections of artefacts that adorned the rooms. As mentioned by a previous reviewer the breakfast was minimal to say the least. In fact amounted to no more than a slice of toast and some very bad coffee! Which was shame as a: this hotel is ideally placed for long walks in the area (hardly a good meal to set you off with) and b: it left us on a bit of a negative note on what otherwise would have been a most enjoyable stay.
a beautifully rehabilitated convent in a remarkable scenery. calm during spring, possible to enjoy numerous activities in the area breakfast was a bit light
Ideal place to stay for walks and trips in Sierra Cazorla National Park. Perfect location in a quiet forest, beautiful rooms and interior, very friendly staff. A car required to get to the place and to explore the aprk from the hotel
fantastic position river access, nice grounds, goohe d position for acessing the national park breakfast was less than minimal
The staff is excellent. The woman who met us at the front desk particularly gave us some very good information about the region and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The restaurant served good food and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. Nothing.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. They went out of therir way to be welcoming and give ideas for places to visit. The public rooms were charming, very attractive and well furnished. Our bedroom was spacious, well furnished and with a great view from the balcony. The meals were very good value, with a good choice and great service. The best hotel we stayed at in our tour of Spain. No
All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating; they are also very knowledgeable about the Sierra and can provide tips regarding where to go and how to get there. Food (Spanish cuisine) is excellent, better than some of the 4 and 5 star hotels where we stayed at on the same trip. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the restaurant. We were comfortable speaking to the staff just in Spanish, so we can't really comment on what other languages are spoken. Overall a great value in a great location.
The staff of this family run hotel could not have been more friendly and helpful. We had a delightful room and found the food, prepared in traditional Spanish style, to be very good. We had no negatives whatsoever.
Hotel staff really did their best to inform us on attractive wanderings in the National Parc, visits etc and to make us feel welcome.
Family run hotel with warm welcome and happy friendly personal service. Room was very comfortable, view superb. We had no guide book, but the daughter speaks English and drew great maps and directed us to great walks of varying length and suggested places to visit helping us see a lot of wildlife and the beautiful accessible scenery of this area. None
We loved this place! The staff were fantastic! So warm and lovely, really, really nice people. We booked for two days and stayed four we liked it so much. The food in the restaurant was very good and the public areas are very nice. I can't say enough good things about this place as it was the very best place we stayed during our month in Spain. We'd go back in a heartbeat! I don't have one thing bad to say about this place. Put simply, it was perfect for us and we loved it!
Very nice staff, providing excellent recommendations for bars/restaurants/sight seeing and activities in the area. From our room with a roof terrace we had a stunning view into the stars and onto the mountains. The room service was great and very reasonable. We might come back on our next trip to spain. Thanky you
It is a lovely family run hotel in a good location, we will definately be visiting again for a longer period of time no
this hotel was an average standard hotel in a wonderful location but was undergoing repair work at was most difficult to deal with the workmen statred work at 0830 and finished at 1930. as above, the price charged was not reflected in consideration of the staff for the comfert of the guests
Fantastic geografical location ( parador lost in the Sierra de Cazorla mountains, far away from any other constructions ), with very nice hiking trails around the hotel. Great breakfast menu, nice wines and good meals.
I loved the tranquility and peacefullness of the place, the beautiful views and the helpfulness and friendly staff n/a
Fabulously situated in the middle of the Sierra with plenty of good walking on the doorstep. A place to spoil yourself with long walks and long lunches. Although the mountains are cooler, it does suffer from lack of air conditioning at night. Ceiling fans did some good.
The Palacio is tucked between a church and a castillo is the precious little town of Sabiote, about 8 km. from Ubeda. The proprietor is warm and welcoming; he makes visitors feel like members of his family, all of whom help make visits delightful. Their restaurant is superb, and they certainly know their wines. We look forward to the time when the Palacio incorporates a WiFi system into its Internet connection.
I enjoyed being in a small town and being part of a fiesta being held at the time and seeing the whole town turn out on tractors! The hotel was pretty and had been well restored with many attractive features. I did not feel very welcome and although I had asked for private parking I was directed to park outside the hotel in the street. The proprietor did not speak English and my Spanish is not so good so there may have been a misunderstanding. I felt the write up in the booking was over egging the pudding as there seemed to be more facilities than I was aware of.
Nice rural hotel The beds were very small and room has not window. They did not accept credit card
The receptionist ,the palace, the location next to the church and the castle,10 min.by car to UBEDA,the tranquility of the village !
It was quiet and yet not too far from the nearest village Arroyo Frio We were the only people there - the staff said the hotel was really closed and bookings only started on July 5!! The swimming pool was being filled and the dining room was not open - but we enjoyed an excellent meal at a restaurant in the local village. The room was clean the bed was comfortable and clean. We were given a discount!
