Pros: What's there not to like? Anna the hostess was a perfect doll, very and helpful and made our visit very enjoyable. The building was over 300 years old, modernized but retained the original charm. There was a sunny, private patio with swarming birds. Parking wasn't great but the place was off the main road and very quiet. Many books were available in the quiet lounge. Would definitely go there again for a longer stay.
The La Posada Del Canal offers a pleasant stay in Villanueva de San Mancio for those traveling for business or leisure. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. When it comes to Villanueva de San Mancio hotels, the La Posada Del Canal is highly regarded for its excellent facilities.
Pros: The owners are very kindly to ensure our confort and our all we need for dinner is traditionnal spanish spirit . Close to the Compostelle way, there were also walkers taking a rest for a night , so i enjoyed this location.
Pros: Everything was great. The house is a nice mix of comfy and style. Hostess was nice, helpful and allowed us to choose among different rooms, which was indeed difficult. Breakfast was good too. There is not parking as such but you can park in the street easily, this is a very small town. The church opposite the house is a little gem to see in the afternoon light
Pros: Much character, owner happy to chat
Cons: Very expensive compared to other stays on trip
Pros: Beautifully restored house. Nice lookout from room
Cons: It was very expensive to eat or drink at the Posada. Breakfast had tired fruit and biscuits , which was mean, considering the tariff
Pros: We were travelling with our little dog which was no problem
Cons: We ate in the Hôtel as there was no where else near and although the food was tasty it was very expensive for the amount of food. The bread was inedible
Pros: It was what we needed for the night.
Cons: Directions and signs need to be made more obvious. Had difficulty finding the hotel. Breakfast was skimpy.
Pros: We had an excellent stay at the Posada del Canal. Vicky and her mother are great hosts. The posada is very charming and has a very nice patio and solarium to relax. It´s great to be able to have dinner there. The canal de Castilla is only 1 km away and it´s a great place to go walking. We will definitely go back.
Pros: Very cosy, beautiful and peaceful place! Perfect to relax and disconnect! The owner is very nice and do everything so you enjoy your stay!
Cons: This hotel has achieved its high ratings through a combination of fraudulent advertising and fake reviews. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!! I was looking for a hotel in Valladolid, and most places were booked. This hotel came up as being listed in Valladolid, and was rated well. In reality, however, it is nowhere even close to Valladolid. Rather it is a 40 minute drive away!! Unfortunately, I realized this too late - only when I started driving and the cancelation date had passed. Based on the reviews, however, I thought that it would at least be a quaint place in the countryside where I could relax. DO NOT BE FOOLED! There is very little about it that is quaint, and it is located in a very poor, mostly abandoned town with no charm at all. As for the hotel itself, I will admit that it was at least clean, however, there is not much more positive that I can say about it. The elderly hostess was friendly, but a bit strange, and very hard to understand (including for my traveling companion, who speaks native Spanish). The internet did not work at all (and she had no idea how to fix it), and the house was so old that the floorboards made a racket any time someone walked around (and so I was awoken by another guest going to the bathroom at 4am). To add insult to injury, it is hard to describe just how bad the breakfast was. The only word that seems appropriate is insulting. It consisted of stale, store bought cookies, and off-brand ones at that. (See the picture of the pantry, where the hostess returned the uneaten goods!) It is simply incomprehensible that this disaster of a hotel could get such a positive rating, and if one looks closely, one can see that they are all in Spanish, and obviously written by friends and family. It is sad, and quite frankly fraudulent that such practices are allowed to continue, so I hope that others will not fall for this chicanery. In short, STAY VERY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!
Pros: Everything was super awesome, good quiet place, flexibility, excellent dinner and breakfast.

Pros: A warm welcome and a very comfortable stay.
Pros: Santiago the owner us great.Because of the restaurant situation he took us to his cousin's place in the village. Breakfast was good.
Cons: The constant noise from the cockerel next door who started crowing after the dog stopped barking.Restaurant isn't as on website, you apparently have to reserve a meal 24 hours in advance.
Pros: Breakfast was good.
Cons: WiFi didn't work anywhere. BEDS were so lumpy & not comfy. No aircon, over 30°
Pros: Intimate accommodation. They were very accommodating with my late arrival and early breakfast. Even taking care of my pet while I ate. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Cons: Can’t fault this hotel. Very remote location which was peaceful for sleeping.
Pros: Breakfast was simple but adequate. The proprietor put himself out the day of our arrival to arrange for us to have an early dinner which was very well prepared and very good. He could not have been more helpful. The village is small, but has a great bar beneath the museum with a welcoming landlady and many interesting items in the bar to look at.
Pros: The hotel is beautifully traditional, although has all the modern features. It was exceptionally clean and warm and we were made to feel so welcome with our cat. Our evening meal was home cooked and plentiful. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and did everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
Pros: Very friendly welcome by Santiago, even though we were early for check-in. There was somewhere safe to store our bicycles & Our 2 small dogs also warmly welcomed & allowed in bedroom & dining area. House was immaculately clean & beautifully decorated with antiques & thoughtful artwork. Fabulous ensuite bathroom with fluffy towels. Delicious 3 course dinner, filling, nice wine & breakfast also adequate. Perfect for our one night stop on our journey to Zamora but would have been nice to stay longer, especially if I spoke Spanish.
Pros: Under floor heating was great when we arrived although the boiler broken down so there was no heating or hot water in the morning and it was -3 !
Pros: Nice and quiet location. Staff was always friendly and helpful.
Pros: A countryside hotel with a homely feel. Excellent home cooked dinner. Peaceful location abounding with nature (including a dog, several cats and ducks). Santiago, the hotel manager, is friendly and helpful beyond the call of duty. Very highly recommended especially if one is on the pilgrim route.
Pros: Senor Angel was wonderfully welcoming offering free refreshments and he took our luggage up to our room. The evening meal was excellent and so was the substantial breakfast. He even made up two packed lunches to see us on our way. This hotel may look like a truck halt from the outside, but don't be put off.
