9.3 Excellent
Cons: Dirty towels
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Buffet offered at Euro 16 per head (when booked in advance of the evening)was excellent and because the hotel was away from the village , it made the choice easy for our one night stay . The Pool is excellent with a nice poolside bar
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is right in the countryside. Very quiet and peaceful.
6.8 Good
Pros: Spectacular views. Probably in spring and autumn this hotel is not as crowded as it is in summer.
Cons: Loads of families with shouting and screaming children. Perhaps our timing was not the best.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We liked the style, and how the hotel is situated. Quite cool place with a great view over the valley. A bit of James Bond feeling over it, somehow.
Cons: The food. The hotel needs a new head chef. The breakfast was ok, not more, but the dinner buffé needs a major update. Bland and booring food that was not satisfactory prepared.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was great. great variety and healthy emphasis was appreciated. loved the crack you own walnuts and the fresh fruit and yogurt. lifeguard was extremely helpful in making sure I had a lounge and a place to sit at pool
Cons: no smoking on balcony next door
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was extremely comfortable.
Cons: Swimming pool usually have a lot of children... It's too noisy.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location and the vieuwsth
Cons: The hotel needs to be modernised The food was rather inferior
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room with balcony and spacious bathroom. The hotel is a great choice if you are looking to stay at Grazalema area; it's a 5 minute drive away from the city but it offers fabulous views over the mountain and the city. We had some food and drinks at the outdoor bar terrace, and it was most enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was good with a wide variety of options, and the view from the terrace enhanced the experience. Service was also very friendly but we think they were understaffed.
Cons: Rooms are a little dated but so are alot of hotels in Spain. More power points can be provided in the room. Alot of insects and mosquitoes (expected for such a location) so we tried not to stay out on our room balcony for too long.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here several times over the last decade or so. Stunning location on opposite side of valley across from village of Grazalema. Breakfasts good with plenty of choice and a cooking station where you could order omelettes, pancakes, fried eggs or bacon. Plenty of sunbeds and the "no reserving sunbeds" request seems to be complied with by majority of people
Cons: Children go free so as you can imagine there are lots of Spanish families, so don't go there in school holidays if you want peace and quiet by the pool!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A perfect place to stay for anyone who wants to explore Sierra de Grazalema - some of the trails start right in Villaluenga del Rosario, where the house is located. It was a lovely stay for us - we were very excited to spend some days in one of white villages scattered across Andalusia! The house was very cozy and although it was small there was everything you'd needed - the space was very well organised. It was also beautifully decorated with a lot of nice touches - a poster there, a nice pillow here - we really felt like home. For our standards it was also warm - there is sufficient heating and hot water. The hosts were very welcoming too, the communication was very smooth and friendly. Thank you! The village itself is also a great place to explore and buy some delicious local cheese :) One of our best stays ever, we definitely recommend!
6.8 Good
Pros: Lovely location as it is in the smallest of the white villages, great walking, very quiet village.
Cons: The house was dark and badly lit; it wasn’t brilliantly clean; ill-fitting bed sheets and a little bit too cold for March even though it was 24 outside.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A beautifully restored old village house. Feels authentic yet with modern amenities. Decent heating. The house was comfortable even with temperatures close to zero outside. The manager was quite friendly and talkative.
Cons: Little light in the room downstairs.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous tiny house to ourselves. Easy to park very close. Amazing location. Owner super-helpful. We ate out so didn’t use the facilities but it appeared that everything was there that you could want Loved staying here and would return without hesitation. Peaceful, and slept like a log
Cons: It wasn’t a problem for us but it has a VERY narrow spiral staircase, which might be difficult to negotiate for some
7.0 Good
Pros: Location - It was in a beautiful little village and there were lots of other towns and attractions within easy driving distance.
Cons: It was very small and the narrow spiral stairs up to the bedroom and bathroom were very challenging.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and very sweet Casita. The owner was wonderful with great advice and a charming manner. We had a fantastically relaxing and enjoyable stay. The Village is truly charming and so close to a wonderful National Park.
Cons: Would have liked a double bed. Update the linens and few more hooks for holding items.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: La Casita provided the perfect base for us to explore the local region - small but brilliantly organised, with everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, the shower was lovely, and the kitchen facilities were ideal, allowing us to take a break from eating out and enjoy the local cheese in various ways! There's a food shop 30 seconds' walk away, a bakery at the other end of the street, and the village is peaceful and extremely picturesque, a great starting point for hiking and birdwatching. Highly recommended!
Cons: Everything was great - I don't think anything else could be packed into the small space!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location in this traditional, calm and relaxing village. The house was very comfortable during the hot days (natural airconditioning). It was very relaxing, clean with all necessary things like the fridge, pots, hair-dryer. This is also a good starting point to visit other pueblos blancos. The owner of the house was very kind and helpful. I think Villaluenga del Rosario became my favourite pueblos blancos, with very little tourists. I wish I could stay longer there to enjoy the silence and traditional culture.
Cons: I think the address (the exact number of the street) is not proper in booking. We have a small problem with getting the place.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: lovely location and property was perfect of two. The bed was also really comfortable.
Cons: The weather was particularly cold when we stayed. The heating could have been more effective and that would have made it more comfortable.

Pros: Great service, great views, great dogs on the property! Nano and the other staff were amazingly hospitable, and made our stay such a wonderful and relaxing time away from the hubbub of the city. We were definitely not expecting such a well maintained property deep in the mountains. Do try their wonderful dinners, watch the sunset against the Andalusian mountains, and stargaze at night. The dogs Been, Pepe were adorable and sometimes accompanied us while we hiked. We definitely will be back if we are ever in southern Spain again, this place definitely deserves more stars!!!
Cons: Could've used a rubbish bin in the room

Cons: We had requested a twin bed, got no response, two single beds and no apologies or any solution thought of. WiFi wasn't working the first day and hardly on the other days. Finca La Rana Verde - Cortes de la Frontera - Building
5
8.9 Excellent (72 reviews)
Overview Reviews
If you are looking for a holiday away from the stresses and strains of modern life, then this is the place for you! Your apartment overlooks the swimming pool, the garden with its fruit trees and beautiful flowers and the mountains of the Serrania of Ronda. The sunsets are magnificent, the days are long and sunny and the nights are pleasantly cool even during the heat of the summer. We are just 10 minutes on foot from the village of Estacion de Cortes de la Frontera where you will find some small bars serving cheap, local food. This is not a tourist spot so you will mainly hear Spanish spoken and you will see a side of Spain that no longer exists in many other places. The pace of life is slow and relaxed and everyone always has time to stop and have a chat and a beer. It's a great place to come to unwind but you are still just 30 minutes from Ronda and just over one hour from the coast if you feel like sightseeing. We have bicycles for hire if you are feeling active and there are beautiful walks for all levels of fitness. You can take the train and stop off at one of the nearby white villages, enjoy lunch in a lovely restaurant and then hop back onto the train to come back and have a dip in the swimming pool. Generally, we find that our guests are independant travellers who like to divide their time between sightseeing and relaxing and, while they enjoy their privacy, they also like to meet other usually like-minded people from other places.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are amazing, rooms and grounds are immaculate, very peaceful environment and you feel like you're a world away even though you are less than 10-minute walk from the train station, immediate access to hikes and mountain biking on the senderos (trails).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hosts.Very comfy rooms.Good pool.Excellent parking.
Cons: Street lights ended 200 meters before entrance to property.Torch recommended.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are really nice people. We had a fantastic stay. The location is in a rural area and that gives a special feeling staying there and gazing the stars. Plus the swimming pool really hit the spot in the morning of the day of our departure.
Cons: It might be a bit of a problem to find the place. So, it is better to download a really good sat-nav. The rest is just perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host were great, a lovely family very helpful, the room was very clean and separated from the other entrances (very private), large property with lots of room, swimming pool and outdoor area to relax and eat.
Cons: Nothing to comment, it was a great visit we gladly recommended to anyone, so everything was very positive, no complaints from us, we could stay there again.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hosts, always ready to help.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hello Breda and Thierry, thank you for everything, for your warmth, for your uncomplicated kind, for the loving accommodation and for the time we were allowed to spend with you. We were both a bit struck, which is why we enjoyed the beautiful nature around us rather from afar, but we are sure, if we would have wanted, the two would have stay with advice and deed aside and suggest us beautiful hiking trails, horseback riding or something else. Lovely wishes Lisa and Thomas
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were helpful about picking me up from Cortes de la Frontera, and made me feel very welcome. The studio itself was pretty and comfortable, with everything you could possibly need. It has sensational views down the valley and its own terrace, which could be an idyllic place to sit in spring or summer. I was on a winter hiking holiday, and would rate the 20 km walk from Montajaque to Cortes de la Frontera as among the best day's walking I've done anywhere. The scenery is spectacular and varied.
Cons: It was January so the room was a bit chilly and took time to warm up. It would've made sense to turn the heating on earlier.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breda and Thierry were very friendly and helpful. The studio was very clean and the view amazing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were really friendly. We didn't expect to stay longer or to see anything in this place and at first sight We really didn't understand whats special about the location where the hosts lived. The true answer came when we got a talk with owners. They suggested us to do trekking path stage, starting from their home, next to river Guadiaro, continuing next to gorge of the same river. It reveals fantastic sights from hights and in the middle of path there is fantastic swimming place with crystal clear blue waters. The path ends in next Village on railway line, so you can take a ride back to Finca La Rana Verde by train. And fantastic pool in property garden too, especially in hot summer days.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The Irish owner Breda was very friendly and made me feel at home. The room was a good size, nicely decorated and modern. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was roomy, clean and had some heating which also warmed the bedroom. It wasn't the right weather to use the pool but it was very pleasant to sit in the outdoor armchair underneath shadecloth.
Cons: It would have been nice to have tea making facilities but I realise these are not widespread in Spain.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breda and Thierry were such warm and wonderful hosts and the property is beautiful - it's in such a fabulous area and really close to some of Ronda's best wildlife spots. We had quite a late check in when we arrived and they were super kind about it - very accommodating and welcoming. They very knowledgeable about the area and gave us lots of information and resources to help us make the most of our stay. They also helped set us up with coffee as there was no kettle in our room, and that was much appreciated!

Cons: Could have had tea and coffee facilities in the room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The service at the hotel was excellent. The property is very well looked after, and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The hotel is situated just outside Ubrique, but only a pleasant 15 minute walk away from the centre. We had dinner at the hotels restaurant on our first evening, and this was perfect and very reasonably priced. Breakfast also offered a good choice and at a very reasonable price too. Look forward to returning once again.
Cons: The fact that the restaurant was closed on Sunday. We would definitely have dined there again. However, the hotel suggested other restaurants within walking distance which were very good choices too.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very nice quiet rooms. Not far to the hiking trail GR 7.
Cons: I chose this hotel because I wanted to relax by the pool in the afternoon. The pool closed. The restaurant of the hotel also. A restaurant nearby that was recommended to me at the front desk was also closed. So I had to walk over a kilometer back to the city to find something to eat. Better ask before!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Family run hotel, fresh comfortable rooms with newly fitted bathrooms and rural views, great pool, cafe/ bar seems to be open all day and usual restaurant hours. Breakfast not included but good menu available.
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfortable hotel in beautiful surroundings, peaceful hilly landscape. Charming and stately building with decorations that indicated that this is a popular hunting area. Fun fact: photo in the dining room of the fashion king Christian Dior together with a hunting party. Nice and spacy room, and bathroom with toiletry articles. Kind staff, but spoke very little English.

Pros: The staff was really nice, we could put our bikes on an indoor patio.

Cons: A little pricey considering, but there weren't many options in the area.

We only stayed one night but enjoyed our stay very much. Amazing scenery.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great hospitality. Friendly welcome and nothing too much trouble.
Cons: The weather!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: If you are looking for a short holiday to get away from it all then I recommend Los Chozos. Beautiful location up in the rural mountains, just surrounded by nature. No main roads or big towns close by so you can completely switch off and get away from daily life noises. The cabins are well equipped and have all amenities included, has a lovely fire place to keep you warm and cosy during the colder evenings and also had Bbq facilities if you want to enjoy an outdoor meal. The staff were lovely and very welcoming, its a family run business and have Saturday dinners called 'cena en familia' /'dinner with family' which for 20euros per person you get a good menu selection, desserts and some drinks included and get to socialise with the different guests and staff of the premises. Best of all they also accept dogs at no extra charge and gives your pet a chance to go on holiday with the family!
7.5 Good
Pros: Restaurant and pool closed No food available on site had to rush out and buy provisions Would have helped if notified in advance
Cons: Limited cooking facilities as no restaurant
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The pool was nice. The huts are beautiful and nicely situated.
Cons: Restaurant was not open the days we were there (late July)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Accommodation was very cosy, clean and well equipped, the wood burning fireplace was fantastic and the huts are nicely spread out so as not to be crowding eachother. The setting could not be much more dramatic with spectacular views and rugged rock features. There is a swimming pool on site, it was not open on our visit but should be opening at the end of May. There is plenty of free parking on site, cars can be driven up to the huts for loading/unloading but must then be parked back in the carpark, this keeps the whole place vehicle free around the accommodation which adds to the sense of natural setting. The site is also dog/pet friendly which was a big plus for us and our small dog
Cons: The access road is very rough with large deep potholes, not great for ordinary cars, seemed a long way along the track because of this. Needs better sign posting on approach to the access road, only spotted it from images on Google maps. Reception closes at 9pm so if arriving late there is no option for food unless you have brought your own, breakfast was very cheap but very basic, cereals and toast with some tubs of pate's and jams and coffee and juices

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are immediately next to the pool. View across the valley to the town is stunning.
Cons: Restaurant choice maybe a little limited.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel, quite large for rural Andalucia, with a pool and a view over the village. Bit pricier than my normal choices.
Cons: The meal I had in the restaurant was very average; much better and cheaper options are available in the village, 10 min walk away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located a little outside the city, a 10 minute walk to the center. From the rooms you get a great panoramic view of the city and surrounding mountains. The room was large, with a balcony, refrigerator and AC and it was made daily. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast was buffet type with lots of options for every taste, and good coffee. The grounds are spectacular and we made a lot of use of the pool.
Cons: The bathroom could have used ventilation.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was easy to find, on the hillside just out of town, facing Grazalema and the mountains above it. There's plenty of parking. We had an exceptional and panoramic view of the whitewashed houses and the mountains behind them from our large balcony, which also overlooked the gardens and pool, both popular in the late afternoon and early evening. Comfortable beds and good breakfast. The walk into town took maybe ten or fifteen minutes, quite brisk in the evening after the sun went down behind the crags. Plenty of places to eat in town in the day but most closed early when the coach parties left. Even so, we found somewhere nice to eat in the center without much trouble.
Cons: Can't think of anything significant.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel, a bit old fashioned, but comfortable. Good value for money. Breakfast is ok. Dinner was a bit disappointing
Cons: a lot of dead insects, wasps, in the swimmingpool

Pros: Not sure about all the rooms but our had a huge terrace which we did not expect. The room itself (including bathroom) was very spacious and with an air conditioner that served us well:)

Pros: Great views, well priced drinks and a great breakfast.
Cons: The rooms were noisy because of the wooden shutters and windows, and the room doors. Hard to sleep with all the noise.

7.0 Good
Pros: Rustic place with an appealing country style. Friendly staff. Clean and tidy.
Cons: The heating wasn´t sufficient. It was November and the room never warmed up to a comfortable level. The breakfast was ok but not quite worth its price.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Helpful, considerate staff - The owner/barkeeper waited for me, though I arrived late and hadn't called ahead because I'd got lost hiking in a remote area. He was helpful with information about buses for the next day, and stayed on to heat up some food for me as he could see I was tired. The dorm facilities were clean and comfy with lots of hot water. Overall, the hotel seemed pretty and comfortable, with a relaxing bar/ restaurant area. It was empty when I was there in early January, but it felt like somewhere it'd be nice to revisit at a livelier time.
Cons: The dorm was cold and unheated. But I was the only guest in early Jan and arrived late so didn't ask for a heater. The owner had gone home by the time I realised how chilly it was, but he'd already stuck around waiting for me and been helpful in other ways.

Pros: Fantastic building and location, very good cafes and restaurants - prices very reasonable compared to prices for coffee, ice cream in tourist areas near the coast. Bedrooms were large and spacious, and bathrooms big, very clean with good showers/baths. Great walks from the town which is why we stayed there. Views from the front bedrooms are amazing!
Cons: We went slightly out of season (April) and so the restaurant was closed in the hotel with no breakfast available. Cafes nearby did excellent cakes and coffee so not a huge deal.. Have rated the facilities down a bit though due to this, also swimming pool was closed and not convinced the small fridges in both bedrooms were working.

Cons: Wifi in room was terrible, and there is no secure place to store luggage. Bar also seemed dead or not open the whole time we were there
7.5 Good
Cons: rude, inpatient receptionist! not deserving of such a wonderful place..
7.0 Good
Pros: Great spacious room. Lovely view. Grazalema is small, beautiful and very walkable, so everything is located close by.
Cons: Most unfriendly receptionist in all of our spain trip. The spa facilities (which should be somehow connected to it being a four star hotel) were closed.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was good and styleofthe hotel was nice.
Cons: The restaurant, gym, pool and sauna was closed indefinitely. No reason given. This should have been on your website then I would have booked a different hotel. I requested a double room was given a twin room. They said the hotel was full therefore couldn’t swap the room however we didn’t see another guest. Not sure what is going on at the hotel.
