9.5 Excellent
Pros: Generous breakfast, we loved the pastry and fruits. Tranquil ambient. Well maintain garden. Those we enjoyed along with our very warm and helpful host, Therese. The location is remote from main city but easy to find. The draw back is no restaurant nearby. We did not want to have dinner in city and drive 25 minutes back to B&B. Clos Martin provides a veranda where we can eat and drink our food. Thanks again, Therese for this wonderful B&B.
Cons: nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clos Martin is just wonderful! Therese is extremely friendly and helpful. The room was outstanding, breakfast was great and the gardens are superb. We had an amazing time.
Cons: Nothing - everything was fabulous
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location of the countryside. Easy to reach. Beautiful garden. Nice modern room with a very good bed & spacious bathroom. Magnificent look at the environment. Delicious fresh baked, home-made scones for breakfast.
Cons: As we arrived on a Sunday which was also a holiday, it wasn’t very easy to find a place to have dinner while our host was very willing to phone to some restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We received a lovely warm welcome on our arrival and were very pleased with our room which was spacious, modern and clean and had everything we could possibly need. We were invited to enjoy the delightful garden and the conservatory which was equipped with a fridge and microwave for guests to make their own food if required - a bonus as it is out in the countryside. Breakfast was also excellent.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owner who didn't mind that we arrived late. The room was fantastic, like a small apartment. Breakfast was continental and a good start to the day before a long drive. A wonderful place to stay amongst the rolling fields.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nicely decorated and comfortable room, full of character. Beautiful old farmhouse renovated to a high standard. We booked the evening meal which was very nice. Excellent breakfast. Hosts very welcoming.
Cons: Nothing to not like but it is a fair way out of the village, fortunately our sat nav took us straight there.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property is in a beautiful setting. We arrived on a damp cool day and there was a wood burning stove lit in the living room, it was most welcoming. The room was lovely and the bed comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We left a washbag behind and they delivered it to Fougeres for us. Would definitely recommend this property.
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location away from the busyness. Very friendly hosts. Most remarkable was the silence. As we are mostly surrounded by noise it was remarkable to hear nothing besides your heartbeat. Ideal location to relax while having a nice starting point to visit the surroundings. Make sure you SatNav is up to date as it might guide you through some very small streets.
Cons: Due to the extreme temperatures it was unpleasantly hot in the room. Luckily you can open the windows and keep them open during the night. Due to the silence you will still have a reasonable sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Big bedroom with a very comfortable bed. Beautiful gardens, well equipped room with communal area for relaxing with tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was fabulous with cossaints, meats, cheese and jams.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very friendly and helpful. It is an old farm in a quiet location. They have a few cows and donkeys and grow much of the food we were given for breakfast which was simple but tasty. We were the only guests but thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. They don't speak much English nor us French but we managed without a problem.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: We liked everything about this gite. It was one of our favorites, and we would have enjoyed staying longer. The hostess is bubbly and friendly. You are situated on a working farm, but just outside Fougeres which has a wonderful old castle with an easy translated into English tour. Great for kids and adults alike - and some of the most beautiful public parks I've ever seen. The rooms were a great size and extremely comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious. We hoped to go back someday to hike in the nearby forest, and if we do, this is where we will certainly stay.
Cons: I loved it all - 4 stars for this gite and for Fougeres as well.

Pros: Our host was lovely and was very accommodating with breakfast as we were leaving very early in the morning. She had brought us the breakfast the evening before so that we could have something to eat before leaving which was very thoughtful.
Cons: There was no wifi but that was okay as it was relaxing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The property was set in the countryside, quiet and just what we wanted. The room was comfortable and very clean. The food was excellent (both evening meal and breakfast) and we liked the fact that virtually everything we ate and drank, was produced on the farm. I would recommend having an evening meal as it was delicious! Stephanie, the hostess was very welcoming and made us feel very at home.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owners Stéphane and Yannick are always welcoming and friendly. Stéphane cooks a wonderful meal if requested and the house pressed apple juice is amazing- a gold elixir!!! A little bit of rural, working farm France, quiet, authentic and a wonderful rest stop to break up the journey! Thank you! We’ll be back!!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful chateau with fabulous gardens and a wonderful family running it.
Cons: We would have liked some food or a bar
6.8 Good
Pros: The gardens and setting are idyllic. The photo is absolutely accurate.
Cons: We were disappointed that the doors to our rooms did not lock properly. When we left during the day we were unable to lock our door and at night we were not able to lock it from the inside. This is something that I feel they need to repair if they want to continue renting out rooms. Otherwise the rooms were lovely, spacious and bright.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A fabulous Chateau hotel set in an equally fabulous Botanical garden. Whilst the garden was open to the public we had open access early morning and after closing. A beautiful array of plants, birds and trees. The room was excellent, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was extra but well worth the cost.
Cons: The toilet door would not close in our room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic rural location
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible lodging set in the middle of extensive gardens. Quiet, peaceful, comfortable. Wonderful breakfast, great staff.
Cons: No heat in the room. ( a small heater in the bathroom)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is rather isolated and even my sat-nav had some problems - but there are a few signs for the Gardens. On arrival at the Gardens the staff will open the gates and tell you to park by the Chateau and someone will meet you. The bedrooms are large, clean and with a comfortable bed. There are tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom was clean and had a suitable shower - but the net curtains do not provide sufficient privacy at night. The night was quiet - with the sound of nightingales. There is no restaurant and so evening meals have to be obtained elsewhere. Breakfast was ok. The great plus to this venue are the magnificent gardens.
Cons: No curtains in the bathroom - except net ones.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: What a wonderful surprise. The gardens are stunning, chateaux owners made us very welcome & very accommodating. The breakfast was enjoyable, with locally made produce.
Cons: It would be good to have a walk in shower, the baths are huge and very fitting for the rooms, but not very easy to get in &out.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Setting in the gardens.sitting out when all the visitors had gone.use of the fridge in the kitchen to keep drinks cool.large airy bedroom
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful, historic home and gorgeous botanic garden that guests have access to throughout the visit. Staff were accomodating, and the room was comfortable and spacious.
Cons: Bathroom only had a bathtub (no shower). Our room didn't have wifi connection. The breakfast was 15 euros a person.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The gardens are exceptional. And the family/staff are warm, conversational, and very easy to like!
Cons: Breakfast needs to be better and more in keeping with the level of the property and the gardens. It is too basic and therefore “let’s down” the property as a whole v

Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything - except one particular set of guests. The location is just magnificent. Excellent dinner
Cons: A family who near-ruined the dinner by allowing their children to simple scream and shout throughout the evening. However, the staff were great and moved us into a separate dining room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff who went to a lot of effort to make us happy Tower Room for our meals was a nice bonus
Cons: Food good but a short menu and the same menu both evenings
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Tranquility, and the animals they keep
6.3 Good
Pros: It is a really old beautiful Château)) receptionist is very friendly.
Cons: No airco (but there was a ventilator in the draw), no mini-fridge, bathroom is really basic ( bathtub drain was not working), bad lightning in the bathroom , NO SOCKETS at the bed, very cheap-looking furniture, all the surrounding looks a bit abandoned and needs more care. The swimming pool is outside, but because of hot weather the water was completely green, so we decided not to swim .
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We booked Le Bois Guy in search of air conditioning In an area where it is rare. We arrived on a very hot day to find public spaces warm. We were shown 2 rooms, one brand new with a portable air conditioner and the other naturally cool due to thick ancient stone walls. We chose the thick walls and it met our needs after some bad experiences during the first of two heat waves. There is a permanently installed sculpture exhibit throughout the estate and a 3 hole golf course. They offer a 48 euro gourmet 3 course dinner menu along with a 14 euro petite dejuner. We did really enjoy the dinner menu which was delicious, creative and locally sourced. We also enjoyed easy access to Fougeres and Jardin Botanique de Haut Bretagne both of which are worth a journey. We also found a great pizzeria in the nearby village of St Germain. Overall Le Bois de Guy delivered more than expected. It was hard to not change plans to stay longer. We found the environment very relaxing at Le Bois Guy.
Cons: The new air conditioned room had an odor we found offensive. That problem was attributed to the new wood. The stone rooms have only a clear glass door to the outside with a curtain in front to provide privacy, so air flow is not ideal even with a fan and daylight was also limited. The lack of air conditioning is an issue we are finding everywhere in Europe. There are also cottages which we did not experience. The bed had only a duvet comforter over a bottom fitted sheet, so you had to choose no cover at all if you were warm. That was not really comfortable. A top sheet would have helped especially with no air conditioning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, amazing Chateau somewhere in France..
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: After winding our way through countless country roads and villages, the turn on to the grounds was impressive. It was like going back in time. The grounds were well kept and the parking facility was suitable for the location.
Cons: We quite enjoyed our stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Set in a quiet rural area
Cons: Not much food or drink choice
5.0 Okay
Pros: the room was big and well furnished the Swiss owner was charming and helpful with his partner; the Danish one being edgy and not welcoming thanks for the round of golf
Cons: The pool was not useable and was a building site around same there was no spa, nor facility there is no bar nor lounge so the public areas are a let down restaurant is poor for the money being charged lots of dog poo in grounds and on golf course-this is a big issue and needs resolving would not recommend as does not deliver to the brochure, nor the web site
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a privat castle in rural area of Brittany. Our room was big, and it has very nice furniture and bathroom. There is a new swimming pool and my girls tried it. Dinner was delicious but not cheap. Breakfast was good. There is a new golf course around the castle. It looks like owners invest good money in the business. Hope it would be much better next year.
