Pros: We had the greatest time at Huberhof with our 3 teen kids. The room was very clean, large, and accommodating, and Maria was a pleasure to deal with! The views from Huberhof are beautiful! A truly wonderful part of Italy and Maria and her family are very genuine people.

Pros: Super organized friendly helpful staff. Great breakfast.

Pros: I liked our stay a lot. We had a nice room with a lovely view and a big bathroom. Breakfast was good too and the staff friendly. South Tirol is just breathtaking even for someone who comes from an Alpine region himself (Slovenia).
Cons: Perhaps the room could have been cleaner is some places.

Pros: Excellent breakfast. Spacious clean room. Comfortable bed. Excellent location. Rosy at the reception desk was very helpful and helped us a lot choose suitable hikes for us and gave us good recommendations for dinner. Luccia who served us at breakfast explained to us a lot about the town's history and culture. Staff was very friendly. Would like to visit again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, good information, convenient parking
Cons: I dislike having an assigned seat for breakfast. As an American I would actually prefer to have the opportunity to sit near non-Americans. I’m here to experience another culture. And I don’t mind speaking German or Italian with the staff.

Pros: The Cavallino D'Oro is a truly the most beautiful and wonderful hotel that we have ever experienced in Europe. The staff featuring Sophia was incredibly friendly and helpful. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a Tyrolean dream. It looks like it should be in the Swiss Alps. Everyone in the area speaks German. The views are beyond spectacular. If you can get a room with a view, do it. But even the rooms at the back overlook a paddock filled with goats, turkeys and hens. Rooms are completely soundproof; we did not hear a thing. Bathrooms are great with heated floors and towel racks and a good shower, The breakfasts are fantastic, There are numerous cereals, yogurts, cheeses, breads, meats, fruit, etc. We hiked for over four hours and were not hungry. Dinners were good; perhaps not great, but you will NOT want to drive that road in the dark looking for something else. The bar is wonderful, the wine selection good, and Phillipp the waiter/bartender is very personable and helpful. So is the young owner. We hiked from the top parking lot to the tiny chapel (four pews with room for eight worshippers) and then to the lake and down. Utterly peaceful, only the sound of the cowbells and the wind. It was wonderful. I hope we can go again one day.
Cons: We didn't know dinner was at 6:30, so it was fortunate we checked in at 6:25. The road is narrow and has a lot of switchbacks. It was a bit scary; I wouldn't want to do it in the dark.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and authentic. The rooms were tidy and there were lots of little thoughtful details around the property.
Cons: Nothing to complain about.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It is a truly amazing property. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The mother and daughter who run it are so kind and helpful and really make you feel at home. The breakfasts were great, nice fresh fruit, breads, yogurt, granola and they would make eggs anyway you wanted them. They even make their own jams and juices. The woodwork throughout the Inn is unbelievable so beautifully carved and decorated. They have an underground parking garage, a terrific playroom for children. My favorite was after a day of hiking you could relax in a comfy swing chair in the front yard and admire the view. It is immaculately clean and well maintained, and for a small charge you can do laundry, an added plus we weren’t expecting.
Cons: It is quite far outside of Castlerotto so there is nothing you can walk to, but the area is beautiful! The only odd thing was there was not soap or shampoo in the bathroom. We asked and they did give us some bodywash, but we’ve never stayed somewhere where toiletries were not supplied.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautiful and has an incredible view over the Valle Isarco, which is also seen from the apartment on the front. The entire property was recently built to the highest quality standards, entirely in wood. The rooms/apartments (we asked to see all the others) are very clean, recently made, and beautiful. This property looks like a work of love by the owners with an incredible attention to the details. Everywhere you will find cute little (or large) pieces of woodworks, paintings, little details. Everything in the living areas is top notch, news, and beautifully done with the best materials. The location is a Maso (or in German Bauernhof) a typical farm of Alto Adige/ Sud Tyrol. The downtown of Castelrotto/Kastelruth is at about 5 minutes scenic drive. So is the gondola that can take you on the Alpe di Siusi, from which you will have a majestic view of some of the most famous formations of the Dolomites (Sella, Sciliar, Sasso Piatto, Sasso Lungo, Marmolada) and where you can hike for dozens of kilometers in an enchanting alpeggio scenery, among pasturing cows. The property contains acres of fields and woods which can be hiked. One hike across the property leads down to a famous 16th century castles where the poet Oswald von Wolkenstein lived. Visits are inexpensive and certainly worthy, as it has recently been restored. Along the (rather steep) path in the forest we found wild berries of the most intense flavor. A short drive will lead to another restored 16th century castle, near Siusi. One can drive to passo sella via Ortisei and Selva di Val Gardena in probably one hour. Another thing we appreciated of both this property and this area is that it is sort of an hidden gem, very beautiful but also a few miles out of the beaten path (Val Isarco and Val Gardena) as to appear genuine and cozy. It is a German speaking enclave, and I mean really German--lots of ethnically German locals there struggle with Italian.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super comfy beds, beautiful rooms, lovely breakfasts and nice hosts. They are currently working on a new dining room and a wellness area - all with a nice view over valley. Would love to come back one day. It's more suitable for families though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners/staff were very friendly and helpful with great suggestions for places to see and how to get to them. The entire facility, not just our room. was incredible. Clean, well thought out, comfortable, built by craftsmen that take pride in building a quality room or the furniture in it. This facility is a wonderful place to stay.

Pros: Everything about this hotel was fantastic. We stayed an extra night because we liked the hotel so much. The entire hotel was completely remodeled in 2018. The rooms were well designed & comfortable. The restaurant and bar were excellent. The Schgaguler family and staff were so kind and helpful. They proved “over-the-top” service. The spa & pools were a perfect place to relax after a day of hiking and the views of Alpe di Suisi were breathtaking. I would definitely stay here again!
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect for my wife and I that we cancelled our travel plans following and stayed longer. From the well executed minimalist design to the attention to detail in the bedding and furniture to the dishes and glasses, we were in bliss the whole time. To top it all off, the view from our balcony. We’ve already decided we’re coming back in the future...
Cons: The worst part was having to leave.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional hotel! Next to the really tasteful interiors and beautiful architecture this hotels biggest asset is its authenticity and the warmth of a family run hotel. A place where everybody is genuinely friendly and where everything and everybody just contributes to the purpose of making people just happy! Very sorry to leave but definitely will come back here!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You can see from the pictures that the hotel is beautifully designed and expertly executed (props to the local craftsmen!) and that the location is perfect for exploring Alpe di Siusi, but I'd like to tell you that the staff made this stay unforgettable. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive but never lurking. They were more than accommodating with our 1-year-old daughter, and they even gifted us with free massages. I had low expectations when I read half board included, but my husband and I were blown away by the food (and we're from San Francisco.) An amazing assortment at breakfast, including eggs any way you like 'em, and a gourmet four-course dinner with wonderful local wines. They accommodated his gluten intolerance and treated him to warm gluten free croissants in the morning and fresh tagliatelle in the evenings. I would recommend this hotel to friends, family, strangers... its a great value for a truly wonderful vacation!
Cons: No negative comments.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful and stylish hotel. Great architecture and very very forthcoming and friendly staff. Would recommend this place to everyone who wants to spend time in a beautiful and quiet region of the Dolomites.

Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect

I will love to stay here again.

Pros: Everything was perfect! Quiet place, very nice owner, great view and very delicious breakfast and dinner! I will definitely come back again!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Easy 5 stars. Let me start of by saying that this is not the most ideal place to stay when using public transportation - however it is very possible still. Bus stop is 500 meters downhill from the house. The host, Mirjam. Gosh, she is amazing! She came to pick me up when the bus was running ahead of the schedule and I missed it because of that. I'd had to wait for 1 hour by the dark road if she would not have been able to pick me up. Amazing service! She then dropped me off to a nearby town so I could get something to eat. Then I took the bus 351 to the house. I also got upgraded room from the basement to the upstairs with a balcony, amazing! If you are traveling by public transportation, here are few tips: From Bolzano, take the regional train to Chiusa (buy ticket from tobacco shop in the station there is a guy who is speaking English, it'll be around 4.50€). From Chiusa enter the bus 351, buy ticket to Ceves from the driver (it'll be 1.50€). DOWNLOAD Südtirol2Go App from Play store, it will help you alot! I've read that some accommodations provide an public transportation ticket to guests, but I think this one doesn't. The bus tickets are still quite cheap (1.50€-2€ depending where you are heading). Room was amazing, especially the view from the balcony in the morning was spectacular. There is no fridge or a TV in the room, but I wasn't bothered by that. Breakfast was also pretty good, I think it consisted mostly of local products. What a great place and beautiful scenery around the property, I will be back with a motorbike or a car for sure.
Cons: Not the most ideal place for a person without a car or motorbike. The accommodation does not provide the free public transportation pass as far as I'm aware of.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved EVERYTHING about this place and only wish I'd booked to stay longer. Miriam the host is a most friendly gracious lady and really made me feel so at home. She goes out of her way to ensure her premises and services are the best. This has to be the best place I stayed at during my 3 weeks in South Tyrol. The premises may be a little far-flung, but with your own transport, it's worth getting away from it all to this lovely location on the top of a hill in Laion. The premises have been renovated on the inside with really modern tasteful decor. The rooms are super comfy with a boutique feel. The toiletries provided are a notch above the usual. Even for the lovely breakfast, you can see they go the extra mile. It was the only place I stayed at that served a generous helping of smoked salmon! And all this for an extremely reasonable price. I can't recommend this place highly enough!

Pros: Great view. Very nice host. Clean room, comfortable bed. Guest-friendly details. Reasonable price. Good breakfast. Everything is perfect! No. 351 bus to Ortisei runs every hour, so you can go and come very easily between Ortisei and the hotel in 20 minutes. I plan to be back there in winter.
Cons: Nothing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: + Super friendly host + Relaxing atmosphere + Cozy green backyard + Large double rooms, plenty of space for your stuff + Well sized bathroom + Warm water in the shower

Pros: Convenient location to the alp di suuis Beautiful pool and sauna Helpful and kind staff I left early in the morning and they package me a beautiful food to go bag
Cons: No bedroom slippers available you had to buy a package for €66 It would be great to leave a pair of slippers in the room for free like every hotel
7.5 Good
Pros: Wonderfully restored historic hotel in the very heart of the cosy mountain village Castelrotto. We loved the minimalistic style combined with the cosyness, warmth and comfort of a true mountain resort hotel. The architect is a genius!!! The suite room was pretty small but hat a fantastic view (and balcony) facing the main square with the church. We loved our room: The beds and down duvets were super comfortable, the furniture exquisite, the colors, fabrics and materials were just perfect. The wellness area is one of most beautiful we have ever seen, it is not too big (fits the size of the hotel), but everything is spot on. The views from there are amazing in all directions - we actually did not want to leave this heaven of peace and relaxation.
Cons: as much as we loved the structure and amenities of this place, we were disappointed about the entire service, especially in the restaurant. Given the pretty high price (we paid much less via booking, compared to the quote when we called them), we would have expected impeccable service throughout the entire structure. The welcoming in the restaurant was pretty disturbing: the restaurant manager told us that we only had breakfast included so they don't have a table for us -- when pointing out that we booked half board, they told us that this is impossible as we reserved through booking.com; we actually had to prove that we had half board, and it took some embarrassing time standing there, the unwanted guests..... Same story next day at breakfast, no table prepared for us, and the selection of the breakfast - given that this was supposed to be almost a gourmet restaurant - was disappointing. There was no bread selection at all (as in the evening), and the rest was pretty standard for a 4*S resort (we have seen much better in the same area). Quality of food (esp. at dinner) was as expected, but if you want to eat big portions, better order from the standard menu... (they serve typical south Tyrollean dishes on request, very good)... overall we found that we missed the feeling that this is a privately owned and managed structure. WE never saw the owner, which is unusual for those kind of boutique hotels in the Alpine region. Also the girls at the reception were not really informed (although very kind), they sent us with the car into the next villages to rent bikes, while the entire town is full of excellent rentals... so - if they get their Services up to the level of the structure, they will get 5* from us...

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Apartments look like brand new one. They are big. Everything is convenient and very clean. All facilities are in place, Wi-Fi is fast. Cosy backyard is in place. So, I would say it is good price/quality option.
Cons: Location is obviously not great because of proximity to a big road. Anyway it wasn't annoying or critical for comfortable staying. View is good. I would also like kettle to be in the kitchen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect place - a farm away from the city, silent, with stars, grapes and apple trees, and easy to reach. Good location to explore all the valleys, as it's near the main north-south road. If you'd stay within a valley or in Bozen, you would spend much time commuting to the several valleys. We saved much time. The appartment is absolutely clean and comfortable and has a kitchen, where we made quick meals and saved money. Julia the owner is very kind, every day offering us local products as gifts, like honey, wine, cherries or jam. She doesn't speak English - only German and perhaps Italian, but she's so nice and attentive that it compensates anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a fully functioning family owned apple and grape farm and there is constant work going on. Julia and Armin are a hard working young couple and were wonderful hosts. We were greeted with a bottle of wine, homemade jam and apples and Julia gave us a few fresh eggs to cook up in the morning. The apartment is very well designed with a modern look with up to date appliances. The bathroom has a washing machine in it. The location met our needs for our day trips in every direction. The grocery store is in nearby Klaussen. We would highly recommend this stay. NOTE: when you turn on their road it is the FIRST place on the left. ( out GPS sent us up the mountain (terrible road) one more kilometre).
Cons: There was no kettle to boil water, so we used a pan to make coffee. ( there is a coffee maker but you have to buy the coffee and filters) No shampoo or soap (bring your own) They ONLY accept CASH as payment (which we did not realise until check out time)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Julia is a very nice host. We like their apartment very much. The kitchen facility is complete and clean. Many thanks for their home-made red wine、jam and fresh apples. Hope next time we have the opportunity to come back.
