For those who have a car, it's a nice and inexpensive place to stay between Arcos de La Frontera, Granada and Malaga, although not within walkable distance to the town itself. The breakfast was basically bread, coffee and juice. The ambient for the breakfast wasn't good, too busy, a bit dirty and cigarette smoke (non-smoking area wasn't available).
Nice hotel staff (speak english), good for romance, tasty breakfast, restaurant staff speak english a little. I enjoyed my stay in this hotel and I would recommend it to everyone. no
Not very well sited, surrounded by light industrial units
the location just outside the town is good for those with a car and the evening meal in the restaurant was the best we had in this fortnight in spain, it's almost a stone's throw from the largest dolmens in spain a fact which the hotel could do more to point out. it is on a trading estate and the noise of lorries and traffic throughout the night may not suit everyone, but didn't bother us much, breakfast could be improved
A very clean, quiet, modern facility with fine services-- including a restaurant (recommended by the Michelin Guide) where we enjoyed one of the better meals we ate in Spain. Being in an outlying industrial area, the hotel offers easy access and free parking, and like us, visitors to Antequera are apt to be visiting principally for the surrounding natural parks and prehistoric sites more than the town itself.
Had a god restaurant, friendly staff
The bar have good tapas and cheap. Good wifi. Terrible view from the room. So small room. So cheap breakfast, just bread and juice , coffee.
The room was very clean and quite spacious. Comfortable bed. No view from the room. Breakfast was very simple: only toast, butter, jam and coffee/ tea. Internet available only by cable.
Excellent location, good vaue for money (sustantial breakfast for EUR 5)
excellent location and free covered parking next to hotel. room quite basic but adequate for short stay.
Being in central position in the city with easy access to places of interest. Friendly bar right next door. At times it was quite noisy just outside.
The staff were really friendly and helpful and it was such a lovely location.
Traditional design/decor, secure parking, nice staff & good room facilities Outside street noise, difficult to find
It was convenient
This was a hotel of character with a lovely courtyard at a very reasonale rpice. The staff were very helpful in finding somewhere safe to store our bicycles.
It was central The room was small and oddly furnished
Free parking, swimming pool is nice, nice balcony view.
Friendly staff, hotel clean and comfortable, easy access to all the points of interest in and around Antequera We would have liked a more extensive breakfast
Nice large rooms. Poor buffet breakfast. No fresh orange juice, for example, and this when ornages are in season and very cheap.
A really great hotel - good location, fabulous view, plenty of style and excellent service from the staff. We had the 'taster/gourmet' dinner at the hotel - good value (EU28 pp) and a really varied selection of local dishes. One of the best hotels we've stayed at......
All the good points noted above. Antequera itself is a most interesting town.
Just been renovated and is like a really stylish and comfortable boutique hotel.
The staff was very polite and helpfull without exagerating. The room was tidy and nicely decorated.
Nice and spacious rooms. Good sleepover point for the Andalusian region Staff could have been friendlier. Directions to the hotel could be clearer
The hotel was located very conveniently for us virtually at the midpoint between Seville, Cordoba, Ronda, and Granada, all of which we successfully visited. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to us during our stay. Buffet breakfast not good value for money. Some room maintenance aspects lacking.
Very comfortable and relaxing modern hotel with lovely views from the terrace and restaurant. Great location for visiting Andalucia and only a few minutes walk into the charming town of Antequera.
Great location; natural light throughout hotel and spacious public areas. Very modern inside, but exterior very well adapted to Spanish building style. Lovely pool and garden area with overlooking cafe. Free carparking and wireless internet. None!
Very relaxing with goodfood and excellent facilities The only complaint was that there were no tumblers in the bathroom orthe mini bar, otherwise everything was first class and we willdefinitely stay again in the future.
Nice location. Great pool. Used for some functions when we were there (wedding?). Near golfing if you are into that but also near mountains, prehistoric tombs and town has great old architecture (churches and castles).
Pool area, underground garage, wi-fi internet. Staff were, for the most part, somewhat distant - not rude, but little warmth. Restaurant prices high for standard of food.
the friendliness of the staff
Atmosphere and rexaxed comfort No
The swimming pool The receptionist on duty on our arrival was not very friendly or helpful
Beautiful and modern. Great breakfast.
I liked the facilities of the hotel (pool, spa) and the room service (great meal).
Very good facilities, including a well equipped gym and decent sized swimming pool. 20 minute walk to town centre.
Friendly, patient and helpful staff with good English language skills. Good room and leisure facilities and easy access to Antequera town centre.
Great facilities, restaurant, and location. Try to avoid rooms 1 through 9 - they are down low, don't have internet access.
The Hotel was very comfortable the food was excellent and the staff were very helpful. The Restaurant staff were excellent both in being very helpful and the manner in which they waited on the table. I did think that there ought to be a list somewhere of the Restaurant opening and closing times, and also to explain that on the half board you only get a very limited choice in the Evening, because if we had known that we would not have booked half board for the 1st night, which we subsequently cancelled for the 2nd night, and enjoyed a lovely meal from the a la carte menu.
Location - right out in the countryside (but see comment below). Very good food in the restaurant - best roast pork we've had outside Castile, delicious olives and oil from the hotel's own olive groves. Sympathetic modernisation of a beautiful old building - the original frescoes on the ground floor are currently being restored. Location map on booking.com makes it look as though the hotel is a lot closer to the centre of Antequera than it actually is.
the ambience and location were fantastic, great value for money, and wonderful spa facilities.
This Hotel is for conventions and groups. There is no terracce and far from the centre
Superb rooms and wonderful surroundings Restaurant food & service average (1 starter was burnt but still served).
The staff were very good. The breakfast was average. The evening meal was excellent and very good value
Lack of atmosphere due not enough guests due the time of year but very nice staff and very Spanish which we liked
The hotel is nicely decorated and has a friendly atmosphere. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The hotel lies very quiet, but can be very noisy on the inside. Walking and talking sounds throughout the whole hallway. During our stay there was a large group of people, who were busy talking in the central hall all night long. But this was an incident.
Welcoming. Very relaxed . Its a beautiful location which would be even better when the weather is warmer. Enjoyed an excellent bottle of wine with dinner. The room was very comfortable.
The spectacular situation. Friendly staff. An excellent dinner Not able to get a snack when the dining room was not open. Needs a safety mat in the bath to prevent slippin
Mainly it's lakeside location with a fantastic across the lake and of the hill top village of Iznahar. The room size was more than adequate which in our case included a view down over the pool and patio area. The bathroom was well designed with additional room for storage. Car park and wi'fi included was a bonus The swimming pool was in a bad state. It had obviously not been cleaned and was therefore not safe to swim in. In October there are those that want to swim and my wife was one so that was disappointing. Also by comparison with other 2/3 star hotels we stayed in during the previous five days the breakfast was not good. At the price though it would be churlish to complain. No fresh fruit, cakes or choice of bread rolls and juices. One of your reviewers remarked on noise from other guests permeating through the centre of the hotel into the rooms - true. There was group of cyclists enjoying themselves until late
The hotel was comfortable and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The staff were very pleasant and courteous and were very accommodating regarding guest requests.
Lovely setting, friendly staff and good food. It was a very relaxed and comfortable stay with wonderful views of the olive groves and the lake.
The dining room was nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast there. There are nice patio. The noise outside the room vibrated at night bothered me.
We thought that this was an excellent hotel and couldn`t ask for a better setting, also the staff were all very friendly,we only stayed for one night ,but would certainly come back and recommend it to others.
relaxed friendly environment
The food was excellent Yes, the room had not been heated prior to our arrival. The room was cold, and the staff unhelpfull. Wifi did not work, and the manager did not come to help when informed by the receptionest
nice staff, good location, large room A little bit noisy
Very pretty Moorish hotel, nice design, tranquil gardens and lovely buildings. Good car parking, pleasant hotel staff The gym staff werent friendly. No towels in the gym, no water fountains in the gym. Outside pool needed cleaning
We had the junior suite which was spacious, clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and a welcome introduction to Andalucian cuisine. The location was easy to find and useful for starting out for exploring the Natural Parks and La Ronda. This was our first stop in a 2 week city tour of Andalucia. The shower was very fancy with multiple shower jets, but it did not drain well. We would have liked more information about the sports facilities in advance and while we were there.
peace and tranquility, lovely staff ,good food.great location for a party nothing perfect
We liked everithing in this fabulous hotel. The staff was very attentive. The hotel is outside the village of Antequera but has a cosy authentic restaurant with a good chef. A little cold in the restaurant.
quiet rooms. Its a hotel, not a finca any more.
good facilities, including restaurant not much - our bathroom door wouldn't shut, but we coped with that
Convenient for the motorway. Pleasant building, quiet. The outdoor swimming pool was very dirty and ill-cared for.
1) Simple hotel, but great for what it is. We were not interested in HDTVs and hundreds of TV channels and found it perfect. Lots of lovely little touches, like an interior courtyard where you can bring your own breakfast and eat in the sun. 2) The most helpful staff I've come across anywhere. And fantastic at giving directions and suggestions for places to visit, which are underrated skills. 3) Lovely location, a pretty plaza in the centre of the town and a short stroll from the Alcazaba and the Roman ruins. 4) Fantastic value for money. Nothing really. I loved the place.
The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. -
Very nice design of the hotel Included breakfast consisted of just slice of bread, box of butter and jam and cup of coffee
I normally book hotel with the lowest rate but provides good facilities and services. This is the first hotel with three stars which I felt very comfortable and has very nice decoration. If people travell by car, then I recommend this hotel. It takes plus minus 30 minutes to Malaga. The breakfast was also included in my reservation. I thought it was a buffet style in which guests can choose their own drink and food. Unfortunately, only two cards were given (one for me and the other one for my husband). So, each of us was served a cup of coffee and one piece of mollete for our breakfast. My two kids shared breakfast with us.
Very good location for drivers. Good atmosphere.
Good location. Good value. Breakfast included which is unusual in Spain. Reasonable restaurant attached
Good location since it is close to the highways (for traveling to Granada and Costa Del Sol) but it's in a industrial zone. New and clean hotel. Staff did not know English. Could not get what we wanted for breakfasr and it was served in a cafeteria in which people were smoking !!!!!
Very clean staff very helpful no
All very new and clean The food
location exellent for stop over on route to Seville from Malaga, easy to find but not in or near town centre. Staff friendly and helpful. Food in bar and local ambience great. room very sparsly furnished and balcony covered in bird droppings
Very clean and the staff were nice and friendly. In an easy to find location No
It is a very simple hotel, which is reflected in the price. The staff are very friendly, helpful and pleasant. It is excellenty located and has garage parking a short distance away, which is good. We liked it very much indeed.
It was very centrally located. Easy to find...easy to get to the bus station.
Very clean with cleaner in every day except Sunday, clean sheets after three days, very impressed considering cost of hotel Building works directly outside window
La cordialidad en la atención y la ubicación del Hotel, cercano a todas las actividades y atracciones de Antequera
Spacious clean & quiet room in a good location. The restaurant/bar was closed for renovation so I can't comment on the breakfast, but there were plenty of bars close by to chose from and we had a good breakfast.
Excellent restaurant rooms very good recently refurbished bathroom excellent
It gave us a taste of real Spain. The bar and restaurant where always busy and full of locals and Spanish tourists
Clean and modern interior. Breakfast was not available on Sunday morning.
Central, easy walking to all parts of Antequera: Railway, bars, food, sights (dolmenes), bar and restaurant under hotel. Bit noisy: had street one side and lift other side of room.
Still very much the real Spanish experience and the Hotel has very friendly people to look after you Because the downstairs is a working bar/ restaurant , there is some noise from the early start at around 7-00 am
Location and atmosphere
Friendly and helpful staff, I was able to park directly outside on a narrow busy street. The hotel warm and welcoming. We had bed breakfast and evening meal for an all in good price. The meal on the evening we arrived was excellent value at 12 euros. The waiter could not have been more obliging
The situation , deep in country, suited us. The staff were very friendly and approachable and helpful. The food was at all times excellent
exceptionell location, good food, great staff and unique rooms + child friendly restaurant and breakfast facilities did not match the style of the hotel and appeared cheap and low in atmosphere compared to rest of the place
Lovely room and views, relaxing quiet place to stay. As expected a bit quiet in November -handful of people in restaurants.
Great hotel; excellent service. Highly recommended.
Nice setting, good appointed rooms Overpriced and overhyped for what it is
Friendly with family touches. Excellent value would recommend and certainly return
Although described as 'rural' the hotel was easy to find. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, as was the en suite shower room. We ate dinner at the hotel and found the food excellent. All staff were very pleasant and attentive.
Very nice hotel and excellent restaurant. If possible: try the dorade in orangesauce, it's lovely. Staf was very friendly and helpful.
Lack of Internet wireless and satellite tv
The friendly welcome, the cleanliness and the most important for me was the good food, service and breakfast. The staff is very friendly and ther are few places like that. Yes, I wished I had chosen a longer stay.
Excellent customer service from this friendly family run hotel. You get the feeling that nothing is too much to ask here. Very unintimidating, we felt so at home here. Very peaceful, view from the garden is beautiful. We left feeling rested and desperate for another night in this comfortable hotel. Set amongst rolling hills and olive groves and just a 40min straight drive from Malaga. The food is great too! We usually only use hotels for a place to sleep but we enjoyed it so much here that we liked just hanging out in the lounge, restaurant and by the pool. No
Food much better than in other places we visited
Small familyhotel with a very friendly staff, good restaurant and nice rooms considering the price. Worthwhile returning!
The food in the restaurant was fantastic and the wine list was extensive including Italian wines. The breakfast was poor and when we came down there was little if nothing left.
Our third visit. Rooms and facilities excellent, great service and fantastic food in the restaurant. A great place to relax by the pool or as a base to explore the area.
Facilities - ok, helpful staff Did not know where anything was at hotel -no in room info
great hotel,clean & comfortable
The hotel is in a beautiful location and easy to find. We used t as a transit stay en route from North to South Spain..
quiet surroundings need renovation
Pretty surroundings. Good breakfast. Nice staff. Free internet.
Location on the edge of the village Probably the wrong time of year to visit the region as most of the facilities were not in use
Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine. no hair dryer and no coffee/tea available in the room.
Garden and pool are lovely. Little playground was enjoyed by our four-year old. Desk staff was friendly and helpful. Easy walk into town. Dinner in the dining room was pretty bad, but the kitchen seemed to be trying its best.
Large clean room, restaurant has a good menu at very reasonable prices. Hotel staff helpful and friendly but only speak a limited amount of English. Hotel is located on a fairly busy road and can be noisy. The town of Rute has little to recommend it and the area around the hotel is undergoing development. The room had very poor lighting, apart from two bedside table lights the lighting in the large room was a small wall light with two small lamp bulbs. On four out of seven nights' stay there was no hot water and the bath plug system did not work. Lighting in the bathroom was flashy but not functional. The television only had Spanish channels.
the room stunk and the food was poor
nice staff although hard to find them, tranquil, laid back bed uncomfortable, other people using swimming pool, building works, have been in better hotels in Spain for 60 euros per night
Loved the feeling of isolation - great for those wanting some time out. Food was superb - can't say enough good things about the dinner and breakfast (albeit limited) was tasty. Unfortunately was cold and couldn't use the outside pool but would be great in summer. Nothing for which it was designed.
The signs to get there/directions leave a bit to be desired. Check in was excellent - it set the tone for our stay. Junior suite-excellent. Staff could not do more for you - even tried out thier english!! Food (captive audience) was on the whole excellent, only one course on the second evening was a tad indifferent. I was in the catering trade and know what to look for. As a training hotel I would not fault it. Don't be put off by the 'track' leading to the hotel - it is a doddle. For the superstitious amongst us there was rather too much green for my taste and 'comfort.'
A part of The hotel is runned by gastronomy-students, this means the restaurant and the bar/cafeteria. The reception personell is very friendly and they speak also a bit english. The view over the landscape is beautiful and its very quiet because you have to drive the last maybe 6 km on tarmac/dust road to the middle of nowhere. We liked it because we knew this before. The restaurant food is of a good quality bit expensive but its the only way to eat there. The next village is maybe 10 km away. The junior suite we had was big and good equiped.Overall we enjoyed our stay in this quiet hotel very much and the price on booking.com is a good one !! The hotel guest has to pay for the Spa and this is very expensive, every item you have to pay separate and some are only open on weekends. The outside pool is big but not cosy to lay around. The breakfast is typical spanish just a piece of bread and some paté and marmelade/coffee/juice
All the staff went beyond their call of duty to make sure our stay was perfect. The shower cubicle in the first room we were given was rediculously small, so we were moved to a room with a bath and shower.
Fantastic location, lovely staff, really relaxing.
Location and very expensive SPA
It was convenient for us as we were looking for properties for sale in the region. It had basic stuff, 2 beds, bathroom but very old tv, no tea/coffee making facilities. Not very welcoming. Not friendly enough. No soft chairs to relax. Not well enough signed for us Brits!
