Haut de Cagnes is a delightful hilltop village with winding streets, charming restaurants and stunning views. The hotel is situated in the central square - I imagine it could get a little noisy in the high season. The rooms are chic and elegant with nice little touches - upmarket toiletries, cd player...There is no lift so people with heavy luggage on the top floor might find it a little inconvenient. The staff were super friendly and made it feel more like home than a hotel, and the food was excellent. Highly recommended. Finding your way from Cagnes sur Mer can be a trial! I arrived at the main station and trekked backwards and forwards before finding the free shuttle bus that takes people up to Haut Cagnes. For info: it's about a ten minute walk from the train station and leaves from the Station Centrale bus station.
Location of the hotel at the top of the village in the pedestrianised square was excellent . Terrific views over the countryside and within walking distance of numerous restaurants. The local free shuttle bus was most useful running every 15 minutes.
The staff were quite warm & friendly. Room 3 was beautiful. Firstly, the breakfast was very very disappointing despite that it was late. I was given croissants and orange juice which was served in a small glass. I had to request for more each time i downed it. There should have been a jugful of juice on my table for me to serve myself for 115 Euros! Secondly, the TV did not come on throughout my 1night. Tried all the tricks the power button, remote, etc all to no avail! There's no phonebox in the room to call the reception and I was too tired to go down the narrow spiral stairs to get help.
The location was fabulous. The hotel is right in the middle of the town "square" so to speak so you will feel like you are a part of the village life. Our room was clean and charming with a very comfortable bed. The bathrooms are modern. The view from our 2nd floor room was amazing! The staff was wonderful. They were helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend staying here and eating at the restaurant. We had a delicious meal that was fresh and imaginative. The chef is from Mauritius and specializes in seafood. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel!
The room itself was comfortable with nice linen, proximity to restaurants was also good. The wi-fi was working only downstairs and not in rooms. The airconditioning was broken, staff when aproached said they know but did nothing about it at all as if thats the way it is so deal with it-in description of hotel when booking was said that hotel has airco so I was expecting it to work. whats more, the previous guest took out the tv and cable from the wall - obviously braking the thing- staff when aproached again said they know!!! Absolutely ridiculous. and the restaurant had no choice of any salads whatsoever-just meats and fish.
Good, relatively inexpensive rooms in a charming medieval village. Clean and a good choice if you don't mind that that at least some rooms must be reached by steep staircase with no lift. Rooms were quite comfortable and clean. A nice, continental breakfast is served in the restaurant. We very much liked this hotel and the location, but this is not a typical "hotel" with lobby and someone available at all times. When restaurant is closed, guests enter through an ally in the back using a key code. Its a great place to stay as long as you don't mind something a bit different.
The staff and continental breakfast and the setting. The room cleanliness left a little to be desired (i.e. very dusty areas like the bathroom vents) and the absence of a bidet.
Great location next to a Boules Court that leads to some interesting people watching in the evening. the hotel itself is small amd pretty basic but has a very helpful and cheerful staff. Stairs to room are very small but not unexpected for a building of thid age.
clean, friendly, fantastic value for money. Great to have kitchenette and large bathroom, air con and plenty of space. flight was delayed so could have been a problem not being able to check in past 7pm if our friend hadn't arrived earlier
The staff was great, the location is nice, quiet and relaxing, relatively close to beaches and nice restaurants, but still away from the noise and traffic. The breakfast is a bit monotonous, although nice.
The hotel is in a nice quiet location. The owners are very friendly and accomodationg. Breakfast is served every morning by the owner on the patio.
The owners are very nice and held a barbecue for their guests. Every day new towels and cleaning. Quiet hotel excellent for family or group of friends. Ideal location for sightseeing as it is close to the station, beaches as well as centre of Juan les Pins. There is no parking but can be done in the street which is quiet.
Although reception staff seemed absent, we were able to make contact and they made sure our stay was comfortable. Room was good, spacious and simple but comfortable and clean. Hired a studio with kitchen and en suite. Nice place and parking available. We did not have a kettle in the kitchen, only a filter coffee machine but made do with boiling water on the stove.
the location was very quiet, and in a residential area, away from the bustle of the town. Very close to both bus and rail links, for visiting the Cote D'Azur. We did not stay long enough.
The rooms were spacious, the air conditioning excellent and it was in a quiet location so good for long sleeps. Very clean and friendly. The 15 minute walk to town in high heels! The breakfast could have been more varied with fruit on offer for example.
Good location, close to boulevard and restaurants. Room decoration was basic at best but excellent value for money.
The owner & his wife are very pleasant & friendly people. they made conversation with us, making our stay as pleasant as possible.
In time of Paris unrest my problems with car and trains could not have been better dealt with by the intelligent owner.A stay of 9 nights. 8mins is real time to beach, less for easy walk to station, restaurants and excellent food shops. Quiet, and the balcony a pleasure. Simple room according to the good rate, kitchen is adequate for all meals. No mosquitoes and there is parking. I would return,no question.
The owners are so hospitable and they make you feel that you are part of their family.Beautiful location. We would stay there again. No.
Congatulations to the owners! Everything was superb! Beautifull, clean, excellent home made breakfest. Runned with the heart, the head and the artistic passion. Thank you from Portugal, we will meet again.
Very friendly owner and family. Excellent value studio and outdoor balcony within Villa. A few minutes walk to Old Nice or to the beach. Gorgeous garden.
The staff were very friendly and it was convenient to the old port. More like a B&B than a hotel, it did not have any facilities, like a bar or lounge area
Lovely place, all very artistic. Good facilities including kitchen with microwave. Very convenient for catching early ferry to Corsica.
It's really fabulous. Specially the staff and the breakfast in the morning we really liked it and we'll back again for sure
the hotel is an beautyfull artistic place . with many caracter. its a quit place . very romantic aera . it even has spa and little swimmingpool on reservation. only 5 tv channels . freezer has to much frost .
Nice big room, very beautiful garden, friendly personnel, Very clean room. The location was good. There was no a/c and it was really hot in the room. Had a problem when taking a shower and another person opened another tap the pressure of the cold water was low. There was not enough shower gel and shampoo.
friendly environment with free parking and room size adeqate with all cooking facilitities and free Wifi available cleanliness of cooking facilitites not good and location of hotel is quite far away from the beach and location of hotel quite difficult to locate esp. by driving.
