very interesting to see all the horses good breakfast no en-suite facilities.only one toilet with a light working.shower was dirty'.only one set of towels in room. the hotel looked very new and quite a few exposed electric wires
Clean premises and a high standard of equipment - much of it new. A nice breakfast was included in the price. Our double-bedded room was tiny (about the size one would expect to find in a mobile home rather than a hotel)and it was quite a walk to the shared toilets at the far end of a corridor. The fact that the hotel forms part of an active equestrian centre needs to be clearly identified at the time of booking, if only to highlight the risk of an allergic reaction to the horses. There were two animals stabled directly beneath our room.
Only positive point: nice horses! Nobody on desk when we arrived, everything was closed and we had to wait for 20 minutes before somebody came. The "room" was a kind of very small place with a bed and a shower in the same space. Restrooms were to share with other guests. We had not even soap or towel. No breakfast included. The train is noisy and you can even feel the vibrations. I hardly regretted not to have booked to the Etap Hotel of Wavres for a budget hotel.
The beer was cheap. Great if you're into horses otherwise I would recommend you find somewhere else. There was a strong horse smell from the stables. The floor was gritty, room right above horse stable with only a skylight for ventilation which you couldn't open for the noise. Planes flying over very frequently and also trains very close by. The walls were so thin I could hear people snoring in the next room as in they were in my room.
The hotel is co-located with a stable. I like horses and children, so it was ok for me. Sunday morning breakfast was a haphazard affair with small quantities of food and low level of service., which did not match the excellent service received during the rest of the stay.
room very basic, breakfast almost none existant. 3rd morning only small amount of stale bread available. no soap in toilets. no wardrobe to hang clothes,no on suite .would suggest fire regulations re escape routes dont comply with uk requiremaents
Price compared to other hotels in the area. Breakfast was included. Hotel was deserted when I arrived at 7.30 in the evening. I decided to open the gates and looked around and found a note attached to a door explaining that the keys to room 1 were in the door. I assumed this was for me. The room had no tv and the smell of horses was very over powering. There was no-where to eat in the area so went to bed hungry.
Easy going with lots going on. A bit lax about things.
Helpful staff. Good food at reasonable price. Only 1 towel. No soap/shampoo.
room was clean; restaurant not open but staff prepared us a meal smelled very horsey as room was over a stable
Good stuff I booked a room with double bed, but two single beds put togeather are not the same
friendly staff beds
easy location and very friendly and helpful staff. Free parking. Always a nice breakfast. sometimes the parking is full in the evening however there is more parking a bit further away
Very helpful staff No drinks facilities in room
the restaurant was less bad than the rest of the hotel and the staff were pleasant in the face of overwhelming negative odds. This is the perfect venue for the next sequel of Hostel. The public areas are dungeon themed. The bedrooms are freezing cold and designed to be hosed down - plastic coated walls, plastic laminate floors, bizarre plastic doors. The location is remote yet extraordinarily noisy.
Very quiet hotel, friendly staff. no
large room room was a bit sparce
We like that the rooms are spacious and quiet in spite of being close to the motorway. We use thiis hotel because it is very near to where we used to live and is convenient for us. The facilities are basic but all that we have needed. We find the staff helpful and parking is not a problem.
out of the way, but very nice hotel. staff very friendly. nice bar and returant. very good value for money and 5 mins from brussels no shower, no coffee in room
Hotel for one night stay before early morning flight.
Like Charleroi itself the hotel has seen better days, but like Charleroi the friendliness of the people and staff make up for it. Very spacious rooms but the carpet has seen better days.
Free in-house-parking, free Wifi (and fast, too), well-equipped rooms, friendly and helpful staff, good location, nice view from some rooms Rooms to the Place Albert 1er can be a bit noisy on weekends
central position room dirty.
friendly and helpfull staff
Good weekend until I arrived home I received an email to inform me the hotel had used my credit without my consent to pay for clients who were not part of our party. I request a refund of €130 we have stayed in this hotel ten years and if this is not resolved it will be our last time to use your hotel. Regards Sean Bissett, President of the Motorcycling Union of Ireland. The location
coffe and tea in the room, taxi transfer to the airport old bathroom
Good restaurant in hotel with meals at competitive prices. Staff were both friendly and very helpful.
friendly helpful staff very quiet hotel a few words of english on the restaurant notice boards would help
this hotel was really nothing special but it was right downtown and close to the bus station. also just a 20 euro ride by taxi to the charleroi airport. it was really a cute little hotel.
Found the reception staff very helpful. Also to get shuttle service from the hotel to airport was really appreciated as taxi drivers in Charleroi are very rude and and a law to themselves. Also the room was very quiet. We travel to Cyprus via Brussels regularly and would probably use the hotel as stopover.
proximity to the station and good connectivity from the centre of Brussels. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful.
It is very quite in spite of having the train station nearby. Free parking. We were treated very very well. Very clean. Having to pay 10 euros for using the hotels' WiFi (which off course I didn't) I thought as too much. The beds and pillow (1) are not very comfortable and the shower is not that good either.
Comfortable, basic hotel with a pleasant staff. I liked the flexible attitude of the staff. This hotel was the best value for money in the close area. The hotel is situated next to a train track with enough trafic to wake you up too early on the Sunday morning.
Nice, clean rooms. Good comfort. Excellent sanitary fittings. Quiet place, near Brussels
I was there for a tournament at the International School and the hotel was very close and convienent. It is next to a train station which was a little noisey. The hotel was clean, staff friendly, breakfast was fine. The rooms are a bit dated, beds were soft/mushy and flat pillows.
proximity to golf and waterloo area Being very close to the railway
Nothing, so happy that it was only one day! Every week I stay 2 or 3 days in a hotel, I never write reviews but this hotel is so bad that I had to do it!! Worst hotel ever! Smells like catpiss, rooms are old, food is bad and staff is unfriendly.
The service is nice and the breakfast is ok. At night it is quite and peace. It's very close to the railway, so it's a little noisy in the day.
As I was attending a birthday party in Hoeilaart it was conveniently located both to the station and the party venue Unfortunately, due to the fact that the hotel was next to the station, it was quiet noisy. Ear plugs were provided by the hotel
excellent stay.great staff. good food. will return. not the easiest place to find without sat nav but well worth a visit.
Very loud, for rooms towards the street!
Inconvenice. Booked a family room but was given a double on arrival and had to wait for extra bed to be added (the family room guests before us wanted to stay further and the owner couldn't refuse). After some struggling the owner offered us additional double room without extra charge (perhaps realising it was impossible to add bed and still leave us some standing space). Noise from Road traffic.
I found the staff very pleasent and attentive, the food was great, and the hotel was peacefull and not far off the beaton track.
The price is law, the staff is flexible and nice.
Extremely friendly, helpful and flexible staff. Breakfast at any time, change of room no problem. No.
The owner Renovation urgently needed, really cheap furniture, internet access limited to specific areas
in the nature the rom was smoking
only ice cold water in the shower
1. price, 2. breakfast, 3. location the separate building, where I was accomanded
easy access to the places and sites we wanted to visit
after we complained about our room we got a much better room Room: sink was blocked of shower and washbasin. The floor was dirty and it was extremely warm. But worst there was a light outside fixed just above our window. It switched on everytime somebody or something passed the parking. So the whole night the room was in bright light on and of. There were no proper curtains.
This hotel was adjacent to both the battlefiled...15 minute drive away and the railway station (5 mins by car) with a direct train to Brussels every hour..last one back well after midnight...saved having to drive/stay in the middle of Brussels. Excellent staff and typical Ibis accomodation...never bad, never excellent...always good...staff very knowledgable and helpful. Nothing
The price was fair fair.
nothing too expensive for what you get. uncomfortable rooms.
clean rooms, convinient location.. room was a little small,(triple room we got was nice, but we didn't get it for the second stay.) not all the stuff was friendly.
Walking distance to RER, easy way to get into Paris to see the sights. Secure parking for hotel guests only at reasonable daily rate. Staff was very nice. Hotel is very basic. Used flip flops for walking around - not the cleanest place we stayed during our trip.
Hotel was clean, modern and easy to find. Staff helpful. Breakfast could have been better, car park smelt of sewage
Friendy reception staff made you feel very welcome The staff in the attached restaurant changed from being helpful and friendly to rude and unwelcoming when they found out we had booked our evening meal as a package.
easy to reach Bruxelles they don't accept the 500 euros banknotes the so called "bar" was poor
The room provided all that was necessary to make our stay comfortable. ( Tissues + a magnifying mirror in the bathroom would make it even better) Breakfast was excellent. The location was quiet and restful.
The hotel and staff were excellent Cooked breakfast was not quite hot enough most times
Modern facilities and value for money No
First of all the hotel is lovely with the old style red brick walls from the old factory, the staff is very friendly and we go a great deal for a superior room. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel but we asked at the front desk to order a taxi to bring us to "Le Bivouc de l'Empereur" the taxi company charged us €20 and on the way back we asked the restaurant to order a taxi and the charge was €12 only (choice of partner).
Very clean and modern rooms, great breakfast and friendly staff.
Great room, good breakfast, good staff, free parking.
I would love tea making facilities in the room
excellent value for money, great breakfast
Very pleasent hotel.
good variety at breakfast, very comfortable beds and a clean room. expensive for the film selection
Staff attitude, quick transfer from and to airport. Problem to have a meal in the evening.
Dont think about the free shutel because timetable is useles
Good hotel for reasonable price, next to Charleroi airport. Ideal for overnight if useing early Ryanair flights out of Charleroi Incompetent staff. Allways comfusing with taxi reservation to / from city / airport. Far away from downtown Charleroi, in the middle of nowhere
Courteous services rendered by staff.
Privacy, Quiet Everything but the above.
Location: 8 min from the airport by free shuttle bus, cleaning of room. 25 min waiting of the shuttle bus!!!
Near airport The fact that I paid to leave my car but had to take a taxi to get back as there was no free shuttle service
ideal hotel for a stopover
price, it cost me 20 euros in a taxi from the airport for a distance of approx 3 km as the shuttle bus works only in the morning and evening and I had to walk to the airport and back to get some food!!! their is a pisa delivery service which starts at 17:30 hours which is ok but a bit expensive
Cheap Extremely basic
the room was never clean in 3 days
Rooms with style elegance and a beautiful breakfast.
Everything, especially the location, looks and the quietness I had a room with only a bath, not a shower
Our room was spacious, spotless, with a very large ensuite bathroom. The service is excellent and the owners very friendly. The location is great because this b & b is situated in a beautiful park, outside of town. The room could be better sound-proofed as we could hear too much of the activities in the house/hotel during the day and evening.
access plan could be better
The kindness of the guest. The beauty and tranquility of the place. The very nice room. Nothing in particular, may be a slight lack of sonic isolation.
Everything was excellent! The house, the room, the location, the hosts, the bed,the breakfast, the bathoroom. Even the two dogs were lovely. We will definitely be back. Just a little shelf/stool in the bathroom to put toiletries on would be handy, but there were 2 in the bedroom, so we "borrowed" one from there, no problem.
Nice rooms, very friendly staff, nice location Basically a B&B, tricky to find
Excellent staff. Beautiful house and surroundings.
The owners are very nice and the Manoir is a beautiful place. Call the owner before to arrive as the Hotel is quite hard to find even with a GPS.
Nice to have Kitchen facilities, close to city and train station. Able to extend stay for one night when flight home was cancelled. Was not obvious from the description that this is not a normal hotel, no reception etc just a room in a business/residential block (no sign at the from door with the name). This also made it difficult to find.
Privateness was ensured Sewers in kitchen as well as in bathrooms were plugged or semy plugged
Because it locates near from Charleroi station, it's very convenient for city act & sight seeing.
A fantastic apartment room at a snip of a price! No, it had all the facilities we wanted
Location & staff. Renovation particularly of shower room required.
The location near the station, reasonable cooking facilities, an economical small apartment. No Internet connection in this particular apartment, despite being listed on booking.com as having an Internet connection. Some of the owner's other apartments have connections, so you need to ask specifically if that is important.
Basic accommodation but roomy, ideally placed opposite the railway station, and easy to find
Easy to reach, not too far from the airport, nice bars and restaurants at walking distance. Coffee and croissants were made available, although I had to leave very early.
The friendly service offered by reception staff. helpful, imformative . the location of the hotel offered a pleasant view and as located within easy reach of shopping and transport services. the room was clean. comfortable and with a good choice of television channels. lacking tea/coffee making
it's very convenient to have such a hotel near the railway station and so early breakfast.
Room was OK. Breakfast selection was poor - poor cereals selection, no real fruit, no hot food. The restaurant in the evening was most uninviting. No toilet brush in the bedroom.
Hotel staff was very helpful! The location was excellent. It's just a short walk to catch an A-bus to Charleroi airport.
Good position, close to the airport Stuff not willing to help early in the morning. But real disapoitment came when we arrived home - despite the fact we paid everything at reception desk the hotel without any info blocked our credit card - 100 EUR - and it is still blocked (5th day after the stay)..Hotel management does not replay on our e-mails..
The hotelroom was clean and comfortable. The location is excellent right across the railwaystation. Taxi to Charleroi Airport was also good value and can be booked in the reception of the hotel.
the night clerk was very pleasant and helpful size of the room!
very slow checking in - although we had 5 rooms in total the service was slow considering we checked in after 21.00 hours!!!
Large, quiet room with good facilities. Close to ring road with good access to motorways south of Brussels. Difficult to find hotel - in former sugar factory! Evening meal was not good value, with 20-30 min waits between courses and small portions. Breakfast - hot food was cold, but there was a good range of foods.
The comfort and atmosphere of the hotel is good During breakfast he supply of bread/bacon/salmon was absent or slowly.
The restaurant was outstanding - excellent food, imaginative menu and (for the standard) not too expensive It would be nice to be able to get Internet access from the room rather than having to go back down to Reception to get the log in details
Perfect location if you have a meeting in one of the offices next door. Very high prices for a normal/regular hotel.
very good breakfast and excellent service and a very pleasant location. the reception had an inforamtion I will stay 2 nights but in the reality I have booked only for 1 night. After a short explication, the check-in has been adjusted accordingly.
The hotel and restaurant have a beautiful design. The room was big and still cosy. The food in the restaurant was delicious !
Price (through Booking.com got EUR 80 for double and was upgraded to triple breakfast incl. for the same money), breakfast was great, location was convenient when with a car. Hotel is aging, rooms/halls definitely need some refurbishing (especially bathrooms)...
Good location, very close to Waterloo office park. Comport beds and good breakfast. Hotel staff is not too helpful. During booking i have mentioned that i prefer room NOT on the ground floor (i have book a room in one month in advance), but receive room on ground floor. Answer was: we have't spare room on the first floor. Aircondition is on the room but too noisy. During checkout hotel try to charge me for more high rate. If you are required to stay in Waterloo area and you have car, then better to stay in Château Du Lac hotel in Genval. Same hotel chain but better value for money.
We stayed at this hotel on the way to BRU airport. This is a business hotel with large and confortable rooms. Breakfast buffet is good. hairs on the bad sheet and pillow. Old carpets at the corridors
The hotel has a fine restaurant, with fantastic cuisine. Really enjoyed it. Price/quality super.
bath room was great, big and comfortable bad,tea-kettle with teapot in room (tea and coffee).
Friendly helpful. Good facilties, restaurant attached and able to sit outside for supper; good breakfast Difficult to find.
Location was central, breakfast was very good, and free WiFi was very useful. Rooms were very small, however for a 1 night stay this was acceptable.
We had a really luxurious room with tea and coffee making facilities and a settee.
Hotel stuff were very helpfull, giving us all the info we needed. And about the cleanliness... I was in 5* hotels with less cleanliness, so, good job Best Western Leonardo Charleroi !!! The walls between rooms, pretty thin, in my opinion ;)
Ease of access to town facilities It may have 4* facilities but it was very poor quality, very run down and had little to commend it. I would be reluctant to use a Best Western Hotel again.
Town center within 5 minutes walking distance. Reception staff very helpful providing information with local facilities and amenities, museums etc. Don't expect bar to be open when you return in the evening. On weekend break with a group of male friends and when I booked this hotel it was expected the bar facilities would be available.
Location, restauration. More information from the railway station. I came bu trian and had difficulty to find the hotel which is at a walking distance !!! Let's save CO2 !!!
This hotel is situated in an attractive village, which has several bars, restaurants and an excellent deli. It has the look and feel of an alpine resort, with a pool and sauna. The rooms could possibly do with some refurbishment, but this could spoil its character. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful, including a fantastic castle close by. No
Good village , central Could do with a kettle for hot water in the rooms - however a small point which did not ruin a good experience
Kindness and the smile of the staff, the restaurant and the variety of plates, the cosy and comfortable side. Walls are really thin, you can hear your neighbours' chats through. Beds are not especially comfortable.
A hotel that is transformed into a disco at night without any respect for the other guest, especially not by the staff.
staff were friendly and polite! there was a bad mouldy smell all over the hotel.
Calm, cleanliness, comfort, location, 5 minutes from the place where the wedding reception took place.
Quiet, friendly hotel with indoor swimming pool What little noise there was easily penetrated the thin walls.
very friendly and efficient staff; free parking; spacious, cleanly room; nice bathroom; as a whole very silent; free, good wi-fi connection; beautiful village and countryside the room could have used more (make-up) mirrors and double curtains. Location is a 45 min drive from downtown Brussels.
The service the people
rooms need renovation, air condition is too noisy, breakfast is good,
Enjoyed the spacious club room and nicely remodeled bathroom. Very convenient to tourist sights. The mattresses are too firm.
Room was nice; staff was super helpful & polite
double room in the hotel was very small, with extra bed for our son it was not possible to move i nthe room. The rooms and the furniture i nthe hotel are very old, worn out. It is not 4* hotel which you expect when paying 175 Euro per night. I will never stay in this hotel again. Major renovation is required, prices are too high, should be below 100 Euro even after renovation.
The rooms are of a good size The reception area need sot be manned by more than 1 person at busy times. This was very poor and checking out took over 30mins.
Free WiFi It is rather dated and in need of a re-fit
Comfy.Gent on reception on returning my passport noticed it was my birthday and wihed me a happy one.Unfortunately no champagne !!!!! Impersonal, very expensive if not booked on net. Glad only stayed 2 nights before moving onto my regular and cheaper and nicer hotel nearby!!!!
The quiet atmosphere and friendly desk clerk. They were not prepared to have guests over the Easter Weekend. The breakfast was not very good, the room lacked a fan and the hot pot was in need of cleaning. The hotel needs to consider putting something in the tub to prevent slipping when showering.
I felt well, being alone in my room did not make me feel alone in the huge world like in some hotels.
The close proximity of the Hotel South is its best feature as its only a 7 min. drive to Charleroi Airport. Really suited me as I was getting a 7 am flight the following morning. The hotel is run by the owner, a man. He drives a shuttle bus (7 seater) over and back to the airport. This same man also covered reception. No breakfast is available prior to 7am.There is nothing to do at this hotel, - just stay in your room which has a T.V. The small shop is a few steps away and has its door locked, access by ringing the door bell - I just thought the neighbourhood maybe bad. The free drive from the airport and back the following morning is the only selling point for me. Should add a new box to Q. 1 - Beside Airport. My reservation said breakfast would be 8 euros., but it did not say - there is no breakfast before 7 am. a buffet breakfast of juice etc could be easily organized.
Friendly helpful staff and a clean and comfortable room very close to the airport.
Very friendly helpfull staff. Excellent hotel for getting early flights from the Charleroi Airport.
Clean hotel and friendly staff. Free shuttle to airport was nice thing, because it's not so close to the airport as you can imagine while reading reviews. Internet was working via cable. Quiet place. So you get what is promised. No free Wifi. Some hot food would be nice in the morning.
Personnel of the hotel is very friendly. Transfer to/from airport is provided
This was a very pleasant surprise. Nice small hotel with plenty of individual service. Friendliest staff ever. Owner takes great pride in his establishment.
Excellent service and proximity tothe airport
The owner was extremely pleasant and hospitable. He wrote us out a day tour of Brussels on a map and gave us great information for being new to the area. Hotel was modern, clean, and rooms had plenty of space. Breakfast was great and you even get a taste of the famous Belgian chocolate right off the bat if desired.
We loved the hotel! The staff (I assume the owner of the hotel) was friendly and extremely helpful! We really appreciated the shuttle to the airport in the morning.
parking faility for the airport
Facility for the airport Too expensive and no insonorisation
very clean. The room was great.
How nice the barman was to us, eventhough the kitchen was closed he prepared a plate of cheese. There were 2 bugs in the bed!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the beds were very uncomfortable.
Nice, comfortable and clean room, good parking facilities, perfect location near the airport. Temperature in the room was higher than needed, no possibility to adjust it. Free wifi only in hotel lounge, should be free also in the room.
An elegant hotel, with brilliant service, amenities, and the most comfortable beds in Europe...surely! The restaurant was good and the ambiance was very comfortable and invited you to stay in the hotel all day and all night. You had to stay in the hotel or face a €30 taxi fare (return) to anywhere. There is no shuttle, and the taxis are on a fixed price €15, so you must add €30 to the daily room price if you want to go to/from the airport or to/from Charleroi. There is nothing interesting that you can walk to from the hotel, so you have to take the taxis to go anywhere. The guest would benefit mightily from a free or even cheap bus/shuttle to/from Charleroi centre and the airport.
The location The standard of the food in the restaurant
The room was big and the location very convinient The matresses are a bit worn out
Closeby, good comfort
very easy to find free parking the pure brekfast
Very pleasant hotel with warmful staff. Located in the woods the hotel is very quite with very comfortable rooms, free large parking lot (external) and free internet access everywhere in the hotel. Sauna is nice, clean and has late opening. Restaurant is vast and food is good quality. To recommend.
Beautfull escpae in the middle of the forest, but only 20 minutes from Bruxelles centre. The Spa was amazing!! Need to ask paper toilett, as this was not checked when daily cleaning was made. Paper toilett was well received but not put directly in the toilette but on the bed... not really romantic!
Very nice hotel, but pricy. asking 21 euros for a breakfast is exaggerating
Very comfortable hotel, fantastic room! Clean, quiet, romantic, ... just what we needed to get away from the weekly rat race!
location cleaning of rooms terrible slow (only at 17.00hours!)
Far from town. transport expensive.
Very comfortable, stylish, clean and modern rooms This is the third time I have stayed there and every time I find it is impossible to get the room sufficiently warm
the room was of beautiful design and had everything. Not sure about the glass doors on toilet and bathroom...not suitable for some couples. also very far away from city and no good for business trips to city
Very large room, clean modern They are really a conference center and not quite ready for prime-time as a hotel. Not enough staff.
The Gym equipment needs some maintenance...
Great design (every room is different): but some rooms don't have a view (window in the roof). We asked to change and got what we wanted. The little town and whereabouts are very boring. We enjoyed the visit of the mask museum in Binche. Car is a must.
Clean comfortable room. Under floor heating on, making the room very hot.
The location is very nice. The rooms were excellent. The lack of a restaurant for an evening meal. The choice at breakfast was very poor.
I liked quietness, space for privacy, cosiness, natural surrounding.
The quality of the room and the available space Bathroom are not completely closed off from the rest of the room
It is very confortable and charming
Desig, desig, design. Hotel is very nice and it is located very close to Mons - just 20 min driving. Free parking lot. It smells a little bit, there is no restaurant.
The hotel is new.Everything has been perfect. Staff very friendly and helpfull.I recomend this hotel.
Excellent Room, very good athmosphere. Surrounding grounds were very nice The food or lack of it
Good Atmosphere, Good Hotel, Very Quiet No-one else staying in hotel
