It was quite and peaceful amd the food was great!
Beautiful grounds and quiet location. Swimming pool was great. Breakfast was insufficient. Many items had rum out by the time we wanted to eat at 8:30am. Not enough staff to clean up after previous diners. No provision of extra towels for use at swimming pool.
Hotels is just renewed, so it looks very nice and better than we expected. Personnel is very friendly Matras of the bed was a bit too hard
Nice hotel in a good location, nice grounds and a nice room at a good price. Hotel was under going renovation, would have been nice to be told though as we were just passing through for one night it didnt make much difference to our stay.
nice location, very quiet, large garden, good breakfast. apparently the hotel was being upgraded. let them keep up the good work! not really. the room could have been bigger, though
The pool and gardens
helpful staff, good location,on site parking small room, small bathroom, small balcony (just large enough to stand on) With temp up to 41 deg, could not get aircon or fridge to function until last day of stay. Judging by our room alone,I think it was well over priced.
Good value, good facilities, free Wifi generally rather poor state of repair; slow checkout
Free WiFi It was a long way from the jazz festival Django Reinhardt so without a car we had to take overpriced Taxi to get there. The meal at the restaurant was not a good value (the demi-pigeon) - a joke.
calmness, staff polite
I like the place where it is every thing was good
Visited a nearby Chateau. The location
We stayed at the Melun Ibis as an overnight stopover so used the hotel as a bedroom only. I liked the fact that when we arrived very late at night the reception was manned and the car park was secure my only critisism was that there was no air conditioning or fans in the room which made for an uncomfotable night in the 30 degree heat
Location perfect for visiting fontainebluau, secure on site car parking< on site restauraunt Comfortably the most sullen and rude staff I have encountered
Tea set was available, free WiFi, shower pressure was strong enough, bed was also large enough. Quiet location. Bathroom could have been cleaner but OK for this price
The hotel was clean, comfortable, with a good breakfast and restaurant. Excellent value for money.
Quiet and clean, friendly staff everything was as advertised
The rooms were clean and very comfortable. At the special price found on booking.com, this hotel was a perfect choice for a stop during our trip through the nearby beautiful villages and castles. The staff that welcomed us speaks little or no English, so if you have special requests (in our case it was two adjacent rooms with the third bed added) be sure to find a way to contact them to verify they understood them. However, the same staff was absolutely available to solve any problem on the spot.
Family of 4 (with dog) looking for a stop over on the way to Normandy. Perfect place to stop for the night. Hotel has a restaurant and there are restaurants nearby. My French language skills are poor and the staff don't speak English, but that's part of the adventure. We paid EUR 90 for two rooms. Great value for a tired family needing a basic place to sleep.
Pleasant motel type hotel with nice breakfast. The room could be cleaner. Street noise most of the night through room door.
its position - very handy for the motorway without being directly next to it the bathroom was not particularly clean
Very good internet connection Breakfast
Proximity to Paris Facilities as advertised were unserviceable or unavailable e.g. secure safe, hair drier, shower head etc.
Inexpensive and clean. Spacious room and close to Fontainebleau. I scheduled a wake up call but did not receive it. Bed a little hard.
Absolutly nothing We did not like anything about this hotel
The hotel was clean and tidy and in a convenient position. Reception was quick and helpful The Bar wa svery small and very slow, the restaurant was very expensive and the breakfast was to say the least pathetic and at £13 very expensive, not even a boiled egg
peace and quiet broken shower. charged for breakfast did not have.asked for money back no reply.
The room had another room adjoining it.The door between the two had a large gap at the bottom. This made it very easy to hear the people in the next room. Also there was a lot of traffic noise.the room was in a poor state of repair, with the sink not draining and the safety deposit box out of order.
The hotel is a wonderful historic building (Robert Louis Stevenson wrote here) with updated rooms and super baths/ Free Internet, flat screen TV, two excellent restaurants. The set dinner in the Bistrot is a bargain. Beautiful pool and yard. Sometimes the wireless was down.
The small touches of luxury that made me feel special - such as a delivery of roses with a welcome note, chocolates on the pillow, weather forecasts for the next day and suggestions of things to do. Its also a very beautiful village and the hotel is right in the centre. The staff on reception were also really helpful on a number of different occasions going out of their way to help me out. The food in the restaurant was somewhat disappointing considering the expense - a bit over-complicated and fussy
The room is equipped with jacuzzi, dvd player. Nice room but rather small, nice staffs. The food in the hotel restaurant is only fair, and the taste of overalls are too salty.
calm, great pool & garden. lovely village & surrounds
The very pleasant surroundings and comfort of the accommodation.
The staff were at pains to be of service. The hotel is very comfortable and the food excellent. Right in the middle of Barbizon, with Fontainebleau and Vaux le vicomte nearby, it was a perfect base for exploring these important monuments and the painters who lived in the village. The forest starts just a few yards from the hotel. As we were virtually the only guests, the buffet was not laid out for breakfast after the first day and we had a smaller selection of the delights that had been on offer the first day when there were more people in the hotel.
The room had all the little extras and it was a charming place located in a charming town. The door to the room could have been a little more solid.
The hotel was clean and located in a quiet area with good access to Paris. The room was small and no baby cot bed was provided despite our request. The information about a free breakfast was misleading as breakfast turned out not to be included in the booking price. The staff were friendly and willing to help but did hardly speak English.
Biscuits in the room. No fridge in the room. Room is old. No flat screen.
Breakfast modest but acceptable, acceptable price as for Paris during exhibition, far but still within public transport network Difficult to communicate in other language than French, room described as non-smoker had a very strong smell of cigarettes, no-bar or minibar so if you arrive late...
The price Needs new blankets or cover for duvee and finish around tv
Most of the staff were very nice and eager to help. I simply can't understand why you on the internet describes this hotel, as a hotel were they speak english, because they don'T. We experienced one member of the staff, that could speak english. And this is a very big problem, especially because we choose this hotel, because we expected that the staff could speak english, but no.
The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and it was close to where I wanted to be . The breakfast could have been a bit more adventurous. But overall, not bad for a budget hotel.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean. Air conditioning wasn't very efficient, didn't seem to work in my brother's room (Room 122)
it was excellant value for monet, room were comact but adequate we stayed with two children. TV hair dryer and tea facilities, basic clean and cheap
Clean and comfortable for this price near Paris. Near to train station. Difficult to find by car . No air conditioning working in a warm day.
The staff are very helpful and courteous. Located close to main roads and access local towns.
This was a 2* Balladins and far superior to earlier hotels from this chain. There was a separate bathroom and the room had better quality of lighting (there was a table lamp). Convenient for the RER to Paris. Plenty of parking
A little bit out of town, very quiet, not bad to find.
The helpful and friendly reception staff. It delivered its promise. No restaurant available at weekend but reasonable pizzeria in walking distance.
The helpfulness of the hotel staff Not enough pillows on the bed
I found this hotel basic but quite adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The male receptionist was very helpful and served us drinks even though the bar was not open. Good location and very good room apart from a folding en suite door which was a little "Heath Robinson. Breakfast was minimal and cost 7 Euros.
The hotel owner is a very nice man, and the hotel offers good value for money. No specific dislikes
Not the rural farmhouse I was expecting. Convenient access to Paris but nothing to do in and around melun, use it as a stop over. Ok alternative to ibis etc. Location is very suburban surroundings are mainly blocks of flats
Quiet. Comfortable bed. Decent continental breakfast. Clean. Though the hotel's immediate neighborhood is not in itself an attraction, Fontainebleau, Barbizon, Moret-sur-Loing, and other attractive areas are within a few minutes drive. No restaurant open on weekend. One modest restaurant in easy walking distance.
Convenience for Fontainebleau, reasonably easy to find and within walking distance of melun town centre Extremely disappointed that the restaurant was only open for one of the four nights of our stay and that it was not stated in advance on the website. The on site restaurant was the main reason for booking the hotel.
The best thing in this Hotel is a price for reasonably good service, parking on the hotel territory and free Wi-Fi. There are several restaurants nearby if you feel hungry and the fuel station. It will help you a lot if you want visit France during strikes :-) Rooms could be a little bit bigger, but for such a price it is quite good.
I liked the price...and breakfast... it was a new concept for me...self serve/no staff on hand etc. The sheets were not clean and had some bug casings and black hairs in the bed. Nobody available to change this..
