Pros: Good sized nice room and superb value. Lovely location with plenty of parking. Much better than we expected for the price.
Cons: They didn't have our Booking.com reservation when we arrived. At checkout they again didn't have our Booking.com reservation and tried to charge us more than our pre-booked price. After protesting, they did amend the invoice to the correct amount. We had been a bit concerned about this hotel as they initiallly failed to respond to a question submitted via Booking.com. We had to resend the question several times before they replied. If their reservation management was better organised this hotel would have scored highly.
Pros: Location was very good. Evening meal was good.
Cons: Staff not very friendly or welcoming. Even though there was a language barrier a smile goes a long way. Felt like we were putting them out at check in and also neither the bar or restaurant wanted to serve us any food in the afternoon before closing times and then evening meal was not until 9.15pm. Breakfast was extra and as l felt l only wanted coffee, we asked for one breakfast and one coffee but was made to pay for two breakfasts, it was not expensive so l didn’t argue. I suppose it’s our fault for not knowing enough Spanish

Pros: Nothing to complain about
Pros: There is very little not to like about this property. The staff however stand out as absolute gems. We did both really enjoy our time here and would be more then happy to recommend this hotel.
Cons: Nothing in particular.
Pros: A dog-friendly hotel within walking distance of bars and restaurants. A clean and spacious room, well isolated from sounds from outside. An excellent Spanish breakfast. Very friendly staff. Free parking space nearby.
Cons: Late evening, cooking smells entered the room.
Pros: Location perfect. Beautiful town. Lovely courtyard for drinks and meals. Could walk everywhere round town. Rooms beautiful.
Cons: Could hear v loud TV in next room but was probably the volume of tv rather than a thin wall problem.
Pros: Friendly hard working Staff and terrace restaurant ideal for summer days
Cons: Nothing more to say
Pros: The rooms are modern and we were upgraded to a superior room overlooking the church. The restaurant was excellent.
Pros: Our purpose was to eat in El Portal - a gastronomic experience of the highest order. The excellent hotel was an added bonus, so much so that would we would stay again and eat in the Restaurant Tradition in the hotel. The separate glassed breakfast room upstairs was charming.
Cons: Slightly tricky loading and unloading luggage but this is very minor, especially as private garage parking is available 50m away.
With a stay at Hosteria San Millan in San Millan de la Cogolla, you'll be steps from San Millan Yuso Monastery and a 2-minute drive from San Millan Suso Monastery. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Fabulous! This beautiful hotel was just what I needed after a disastrous start to my week long break. It was so peaceful and the location was stunning! I was able to relax and chill out. The monasteries at Suso and Yuso were well worth seeing too. Suso, the smaller of the two, is a couple of kilometres walk so it's worth setting out and walking it rather than taking the shuttle bus up. Or, take the shuttle bus up the hill and walk back down so you can admire the view.
Pros: The property is outstanding, as was every aspect of the service. We had bought a bottle of wine from a nearby bodega, and asked for some wine glasses so we could open it. They so generously brought us glasses and a bottle opener so we could enjoy it. The breakfast was unbelievable. We would recommend this stay to everyone without a doubt.
Pros: Huge room, comfy, clean, and great views. Common areas were perfect and the location is simply incredible. It is perfect for a weekend getaway
Cons: The cafeteria should improve their menu, but is great to have at least two options for dinner
Pros: The location and ambiance. Our room overlooked the river and was comfortable. The breakfast was very good and had a very good choice of food.
Cons: The bathroom was poor. For a hotel of this standard the bathroom facilities were inadequate. A separate shower should be included and a shower in the bath with a plastic shower curtain is not appropriate.
Pros: Everything about this place was great from the fixed price lunch to the little cafe bar 100 meters from Monastery to the in-Hotel bar/cafeteria to the morning breakfast! Excellent walking areas opportunities!

This attractive house in the La Rioja region is over 150 years old. Its rooms and public areas all include free Wi-Fi access, and there is a garden and terrace. The rooms are all en suite and heated. There are 2 restaurants at the Masip. The Restaurante Casa Masip combines traditional meals with modern details. There is an excellent wine list, including La Rioja wines. The El Caserio restaurant offers traditional dishes from La Rioja, with grilled specials. It seats up to 60 guests. Pros: There was some confusion and delay checking in as no staff was there when we arrived. We booked into this hotel far in advance with the expectation of having dinner there but arrived in town in Oct. only to find that nearly all restaurants were closed on a Tuesday evening, including Casa Massip.
Cons: Lovely town but I should have done more research to make sure more establishments would be open.
Pros: The room was super tastefully set up also the same could be said about the common area. There is even a small reading corner with comfy chairs on the way to the garden. The breakfast was the best we had on the trip! Also, make sure to have a bite at the restaurant's bar next door! We enjoyed the raciones very much
Cons: Since we got there on public holiday, the garden and restaurant were closed
Pros: Everything was great! Very nice and clean with great breakfast and location.
Cons: The owners are very nice but they are very busy and not always in the hotel. Also they dont speak english but that was not a huge problem. I believe its quite expensive but still we dis not regret it :)
Pros: Big, comfortable room, with lagre bed and good seating area. Really nice breakfast, and nice garden with lots of shade. People were nice too:)
Cons: Great family atmosphere. Such friendly staff. Restaurant on site might be the best in town.
Located in Valganon, Hotel Pura Vida is within a 15-minute drive of Sierra de la Demanda Natural Area and Ojapark. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
Pros: This was a beautifully presented hotel. Internally it looked like a designer hotel, with the most amazing furniture and fitments. Our room was lovely. Lovely outside space at the hotel. The hosts could not have been more helpful and friendly. They recommended the most amazing wine tour.
Cons: I would say it is a little out of the way for the Rioja wine area. The village lacked a good choice of places to eat. We returned from a days tour to find somebody had tidied all of our belongings away bags and loose clothing. Felt like we were being told not to leave the place untidy.
Pros: An exceptional experience. The staff/ owners were amazing.
Pros: The hotel is beautifully-decorated, clean and comfortable. It is located in the pretty village of Valgañón amongst stunning countryside. The village itself, while beautiful, is somewhat limited in terms of places to eat, however the nearby town of Ezcaray has numerous restaurants, cafés and bars. We hired bikes and found the local cycle paths to be excellent, with gorgeous views; we would recommend doing this as a great way of discovering the local area! What made our stay most memorable was the hospitality of our hosts Ascen and Javier, who ensured that we were looked after and made to feel very welcome. ¡Gracias por todo!
Pros: Very stylish interiors. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Delicious breakfast and very personable owners. We really loved this hotel and the location near the mountains of La Rioja and some of the most famous wineries in Spain. We’ll be back.
Cons: Nothing at all.
Pros: Exceeded our expectations by miles. Exceptional property
Pros: The hosts were fantastic. So helpful. They really were super sweet. Gave great recommendations. The hotel was as chic as any boutique hotel you could find anywhere. The town was very small but close to other larger villages so a five minute drive and you had whatever you needed.
Cons: A little noisy until guest all settled down for the night. You did hear doors closing and some noise from neighbors but not enough to be a problem.
Pros: The hotel was very nice/updated and the staff was amazing. They provided great places to eat and recommendations on the various wineries. Breakfast was great!
With a stay at Casa Rural Zaldierna in Ezcaray, you'll be 10.6 mi (17.1 km) from Ojapark and 11.2 mi (18.1 km) from Valdezcaray Ski Area.
Pros: The house is very charming, in a beautiful village if you enjoy to explore the nature the nearest town is 5km away in a row without sidewalk).
Cons: We stayed two nights, in our road trip to Barcelona. First night was great, amazing food, nice staff, good room (although the mattress was not super comfortable). However, in the next day the staff warned us they would have a private party until 2am and the restaurant would not be serving (although we could stay and pay the 35€ for dinner and party). All good, if it wasn't for the fact that we started in our booking that we would stay with our 2yrs old son. At the best, they should have messaged us at the time of the booking warning about the party. At the very minimum inform us about it at check-in so we could reduce our stay if we wanted. We couldn't sleep until 2am and we had a 7h drive with a cranky baby the next day. It wasn't fair game on their part.
Pros: interesting location Self help breakfast buffet.
Pros: Great for peace and quiet relaxation, good in-house restaurant, whereas the nearby town Ezcaray has the best 2-star Michelin restairant we've ever experienced!
Pros: Extremely helpful and friendly staff.Very good food at the restaurant.Good starting point for walks in the mountains and not far to the local main attractions - wineries.
Pros: Our stay at XXXXXX was nothing short of exceptional! Here is why: Location - While the town is tiny and a little removed from the rest, this was actually a benefit to us. We were only a 5min drive from Ezcaray, a bigger town where all the noise was. The wineries were also about a 30min drive, but it was so scenic, we didn’t mind. Accommodation - beautiful, charming rooms, very clean, and had all the necessities, including a blow dryer that was much better than the typical cheap one found at hotels. Staff - probably my favorite part. I felt at home. Everyone smiled and greeted us from the first moment, but you could tell they were all so genuine about it. Their attention was so personalized down to each of our individual needs. For instance, my sister and I cannot have lactose, and they managed to find soy milk for us on short notice. Also, one night we didn't finish our bottle of wine, and they stored it for us to have during the afternoon of the following day. Food - Their restaurant is delicious and such a beautiful atmosphere! We ended up eating there, out on the terrace both nights. Everything was so well made and their croquetas won a very well-deserved award, so definitely must try! Cost - not expensive, not cheap, but high quality service. Well worth it.
Pros: This is an unconventional and authentic place in many ways. The building is nested in a deserted mountain village, almost missed it. Warm welcome, basic but comfortable facilities. We will go back for the food: tasty, creative, yummy!
With a stay at Casa Rural Uyarra in Ojacastro, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Ojapark and Sierra de la Demanda Natural Area. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
With a stay at Hostal Rural La Calera in San Millan de la Cogolla, you'll be steps from San Millan Yuso Monastery and a 2-minute drive from San Millan Suso Monastery. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: It’s in a beautiful, peaceful location close to fascinating historical sights and Rioja wine bodegas. The rooms are simple but comfortable and the staff friendly. The on-site restaurant serves dinner most evenings in summer.
Cons: It is quiet - we liked that but it’s worth being forewarned.
Pros: Excellent comfortable corner room with lovely views across the valley. Large outdoor area with tables/chairs and large indoor lounge to relax in. Peaceful with lots of birds. Good breakfast.
Cons: Location is wrong on booking.com. Map shows in the middle of the town 600m from bus stop. No! It is 1.5km+ from bus stop, actually outside town limits. Took well over an hour to find. Owner said he asked booking.com to fix but until this happens guests should be advised (google map works when you type in address directly but not when it picks up location from booking.com). Description says restaurant onsite - but fails to mention it is not open during the week. Monday every café/restaurant in town is closed, one in next town apparently so if you are driving OK, but otherwise you have one small local shop for bread/canned food. Guests should be warned and description corrected - we could easily have brought food had we been told.
Pros: Fantastic location. Quiet rural. Lovely room. Very comfy bed. Great bathroom
Cons: Very quiet around which is a bonus but our ferry schedule was changed morning a much later arrival. No food on a Monday and no options late in the village. Ended up at the campsite nearby which was friendly welcoming and basic tasty food
Pros: Everything!! Starting from the staff, the place is located in a very nice quiet area if you're looking to relax. The views that surround the place are absolutely beautiful!!!!
Pros: Beautiful location. Very friendly and hospitable.
Pros: Cute B&B in a rural location with views of the monastery from our window. The breakfast was fabulous and the staff were wonderful. I definitely recommend it.
Cons: It´s a little bit out of the way, but only about half an hour from Ezcaray, which was worth a visit. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable, but it was fine and everything else was great!
Pros: Very rural location. Run by husband and wife who made you feel wanted and valued. Reportedly clean. Lovely bathroom with a jacquessi.
Cons: Nothing really.
Set in a charming stone property in the centre of Duruelo de la Sierra, Casa Rómulo offers rooms with mountain views. It has a restaurant and an attractive garden with a terrace. Each room at Casa Rómulo has simple, rustic décor. There is free Wi-Fi, a TV and a private bathroom. You can enjoy local mountain cuisine, such as wood-roasted meats and wild mushrooms from the surrounding forest. The Sierra de Urbión Mountains are ideal for hiking, while the nature reserves at Sierra de Cebollera and Cañon del Río Lobos can be reached in less than an hour by car. The hotel is just 50 metres from the village church and its Medieval cemetery. Duruelo de la Sierra is a 50-minute drive from Soria and is less than 100 km from Burgos.
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable, men who run Casa Rómulo were pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was nothing special but adequate and on the whole the stay was good value for money.
Cons: Would have been nice to have been able to enjoy a drink from the bar in the pretty garden, bar didn't seem accessible from there. TV in the room was very small. No one seemed to be using the restaurant and there are few others in the village.
Pros: Nice village felt safe to leave car out side, staff good.
Cons: Restaurant not open until 9pm it would have been good to have it open earlier and there were no other restaurants open locally.
Pros: The great atmosphere in the middle of nature, with pleasant garden and friendly staff.
Pros: Cute village, great accomodation, very romantic, nice hosts, clean and comfortable, great breakfast!
Located in San Millan de la Cogolla, La Posada de San Millan is a 1-minute drive from San Millan Yuso Monastery and 5 minutes from San Millan Suso Monastery. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Great views of the mountain surroundings! 5 minutes walking from the San Yuso monastery and cozy country home.
Cons: The shower curtain didn't work properly, letting water overflow into the floor.
Pros: Good location. Right next to Yuso Monastery.
Cons: Breakfast was from 9:00. Could not take breakfast.
Pros: Very friendly staff. They speak a little bit english
Pros: Nice over night stay near monestary.
Cons: I did not know on Mondays, all shops and bars are closed. A possibility to be hungry during a night in this town.
Pros: My wife was concerned about breakfast being served quite late for her needs. The staff left her a thermo of coffee and some snacks so she could have her breakfast soon after she got up. Our room was simple but very pleasant.
Cons: In these little towns whose existence is tied entirely to one place of interest, when the monastery shuts down so does the town and as a result it can be difficult to find an open restaurant.
Pros: Proximity to monestary and bodegas. Natural surroundings
Pros: Beautiful location
Cons: Could hear everything from other rooms as no sound proofing !
Located in Villoslada de Cameros, Posada Hoyos de Iregua is within a 15-minute drive of Sierra de Cebollera Natural Park and Cuevas de Ortigosa. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and an elevator. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
Pros: Absolutely incredible view, away from the hustle and bustle and tourists. Other comments mentioned a lot of steps but it really wasn't many at all - maximum 40 steps. Well worth it for the room and the view. A fantastic location and getaway if you are looking to relax and enjoy a slower pace.
Cons: The wifi was not very good so we could not use that but there are many other things to do anyways so it was not a problem.
Pros: Charming room with an amazing view. Good location to discover the Sierra Cebollera in La Rioja and the little towns around. Elaborated breakfast.
Cons: Overpriced. Check-in was very chaotic and they seemed really disorganised. Luckily organisation was smoother upon morning with the breakfast and check-out.
Pros: - good wifi - beautiful view in the mountains and the river - nice modern interior
Cons: - no hot water in the evening (took a cold shower) BUT in the morning there was hot water - overpriced breakfast
Pros: Location and room fantastic, there's a restaurant and breakfast was nice
Cons: We had prepaid and alerted proprietor of our arrival time between 8-9pm We arrived 8.25pm approx after travelling all day. After unloading motorbike which had to be parked elsewhere due to location to find no staff at hotel. We used phone number link on booking.com and outside hotel trying 11times (call log evidence). After 45mins we discovered a fire exit door appeared open so we entered light came on. We found reception with keys on counter assuming it must be fur us. Upon entering the room we discovered it had been used, wet towels etc. After connecting to reception WiFi and emailing directly the hotel proprietor appeared until 10.40pm we hadn't eaten, were distressed. Proprietor had made an error. Had we not been able to enter due to remote location we would have had no accommodation.... Proprietors son had to come along as he spoke English and supported us. By this time it was nearly midnight... We were only staying one night so disappointed. Offered breakfast as compensation and we stayed in larger room (which we had chosen due to fact no clean room allocated)
Pros: Juanjo was such a kind host. We really enjoyed getting to know him and staying at Posada. He has decorated Posada with beautiful simplicity. The hotel is very clean and the facilities are nice and spacious. We ate three meals at Jazz Restaurant, which is on the top level of the hotel, and really enjoyed the local fare and wine. The highlights of our meals were the beans and chorizo, the wild local mushrooms and eggs, the local fish, the pork cheeks, the cream puffs and the papas frites. We felt that we had a very authentic experience staying here and that is exactly what we were looking for.
Cons: The only thing we didn’t love was that the bed was a bit stiff.
Pros: I liked the ecological approach to the hotel management, great mattresses for good sleep, stunning views from the windows and very cozy restaurant upstairs. The owner was especially helpful with any query we had. Would definitely repeat :)
Pros: the owner after a rocky start was quite affable, the room was spacious and quiet, clean with a comfortable bed,
Cons: as an older client publc parking was nearby but climbing 500 steps with a suitcase isnt something i would like to repeat.
Surrounded by countryside, Posada Dos Aguas is an ancestral house located in Covaleda village. It features rustic décor with beam ceilings and stone walls. Free Wi-Fi is also available. This charming guest house features stylish rooms which have been carefully decorated. All air-conditioned room have a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. Posada Dos Aguas features a bar and an à la carte restaurant. It also has a hot tub and a sauna. Soria is 50 km away while Sierra de Cebollera Naure Park is 1-hour drive away. You can drive to Picos de Urbión in 25 minutes.
Pros: Wonderful view of old houses and countryside beyond from big windows, chairs by windows, comfy beds, plenty of space, a nearby alimentation/mercado where we bought fruits, vegs, sardines, and a notebook (I'd lost my journal!). Short walk to the little local plaza, where we watched kids play "squash" and heard the local orchestra practicing--well-played classical music drifting from a high-up window in the municipal building (?)--and had beer and cafe con leche and played dominoes (ours) at the "English Corner."
Cons: The faucet in the sink was fairly disastrous--set high over the classy bowl for style, it seems, thus in our way while washing faces, and spraying water all over. Prepare for wet feet! Also, light fixtures above the bed were not good for night reading--lighting up entire room, and no option for light on one side of bed only.
Pros: Ideally placed to explore this beautiful little known area of Spain - at least to most tourists. Bedrooms and bathrooms immaculate. Breakfast excellent and plentiful. Decor maybe a bit too urban bling but nicely done. Rooms giving on to the street. It too noisy - this is a sleepy little town.
Cons: Nothing really. Except most parking is down steep hill so drop heavy bags at the door.
Pros: Great bed and great pillows (we come from a family of furniture sellers and don't say this very often), sparkling clean (we don't say this lighly either), the staff was impecable, very helpful and polite, breakfast of a very high quality (town bakery pastries, ham, exquisite bread toasts), amazing bathroom (new, clean, and very good shower).
Cons: The interior style is a bit too kitsch for us, but that's a matter of taste. It was objectively a very good hotel.

Pros: Stunning hotel to base yourself for a hiking and biking trip. Can’t wait to go back. Restaurant has delicious food and excellent service
Pros: All is perfect, good place good staff.
Pros: Staff cleanliness
Cons: Breakfast price a bit high
Pros: Really nice building, quaint and very cosy. The room was very nicely decorated, and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was very nice too.
