Pros: The hotel is in a perfect location! Walking distance from the Main Street and from many restaurants. The room is big and the bed is comfortable. The staff is wonderful!!!!
Cons: The shower has no curtain, so the bathroom gets wet..
Pros: The perfect place to stay in Gabrovo. The street is quite and brings the spirit of the old town. Near to the city center. Warm apartment, has everything you might need. Breakfast is delicious. Has its own parking.
Pros: Great location in the middle of town. Nestled in amongst the old part of town right next to the old tavern which is the best place to eat in my opinion (Staropriemnitsa). This is a very old traditional house converted inside to be modern, clean and comfortable. The lady of the house was very nice, friendly and helpful. Very nice traditional home cooked breakfast. Highly recommend
Cons: Hard to lift large luggage to the top floor due to the tight stair case. (To be expected in such an old house)
Pros: I can say everything was on a very high level. The owners even prepared a traditional Bulgarian breakfast- баница! The room conditions were on the level of 4 star hotel - new and very clean. + free private parking space
Pros: The breakfast was traditional, tasty and homemade. The hosts were extremely helpful, polite and positive. The room was clean, cozy and had everything you need. It is amazing how well the modern and traditional style are converged in this place. Definitely will visit again.
Pros: Room was comfy, view was amazing. Breakfast was homemade, special, and generous in amount, just wow! Interaction with owners, a family, was relaxed yet highly professional.
This nice family hotel on the outskirts of Gabrovo is situated in scenic surroundings on the foothills of the Balkan mountains, close to the Siwek river. The way to the open-air museum of Etar passes the hotel, which offers you 2-star comfort in an authentic atmosphere all year round. The peace and calm of this region, the fresh mountain air and the enchanting beauty of nature are ideal conditions to totally relax and forget everyday stress.
Pros: Amazing hotel with superb hosts. Rooms were lovely and clean and the food in the restaurant was delicious. Located just a mile from the Architectural and Ethnographic Complex Etara
Pros: Honestly, the best service we ever had in Bulgaria! We had very warm welcoming from the owners and we didnt want to leave at the end of our stay! The room was spacious, new, clean and modern. The hotel itself was sparkling clean. The view from the balcony just left us speachless! Amazing nature and very near “Etara” open museum. We traveled 3 adults and a toddler and he was more than happy roaming around in the big garden of the hotel and eating delicious pancakes. Thanks again to the owners for making our stay unforgettable and we definitely will come back again!

Pros: Good welcome. Very recent and clean hotel. Tiny but good family restaurant.

Pros: We really appreciated the welcoming owners of the hotel. It is the family kind hotel. The room was huge and perfectly clean, we had a lovely terrace wherre we could rest. The food was excellent, home made food served by the owners. Though the hotel is situated in a very small and quiet village, we had an internet connexion. Well, we loved it!
Cons: If you want tea in the morning, bring your tea bag!!
Pros: Everything made it a wonderful experience - very spacious and the most comfortable bed I had on my entire trip.
Cons: The hotel is a bit far from the city center, but there is a convenient busstop not far from the hotel which goes to the city center.
Pros: beautiful view from the balcony of my room

Pros: The house itself is a hidden gem in the heart of the mountain, and the food... well, the food could fit any high-end restaurant, except that the quantities are so much better! :-) Paul and Andrew are well mannered, careful and truly enjoyable company. I'm waiting forward to our next stay with them!
Pros: Paul and Andrew are great hosts and we had the best time at their B&B. The house is in a very rural and peaceful location, bed and pillows are super comfy and breakfast is just AMAZING. Couldn't recommend this place enough
Pros: We want to thank our hosts for doing such a great job in preserving old Bulgarian houses and turning them into modern, yet artistic vacation place. Fantastic meals on every possible level - from the elegant plates and cutlery, to the original and healthy food served! We loved the pancakes at breakfast but the other options are worth trying too. Imagine enjoying your lunch or dinner in a beautiful garden, served by kind people who do their best to provide you with most pleasant experience.
Cons: Everything was perfect. We can't think of any recommendations. Our hosts have considered every detail in order to provide a superb service to their guests.
Pros: We loved the place, the food and the host.
Pros: Amazing hosts, excellent food, great ambience!! We had a great time and would highly recommend Paul and Andrew’s place!
Pros: The place is wonderful. Situated in an incredibly renovated traditional bulgarian house with a beautiful garden, surrounded by an age old forest. A perfect place to enjoy nature, while still having the comforts of the modern world. The house is very clean and tidy, you can simultaneously feel the historic architectural background and also have an exquisitely restored rooms with modern bathrooms. Best of all is the hospitality of the hosts. They were extremely polite, caring and welcoming. We had a lovely fresh homemade dinner and breakfast prepared at the moment. Pros: Awesome property in the heart of Gabrovo. Highly recommend it!
Pros: The location is perfect , always had available parking space ! The owner is very friendly and polite !
Pros: Only liked the location
Cons: Unfriendly staff, Room was way too smal for the price and not so clean Very disappointed and wouldn't visit again
Pros: Very modern and clean. Flexible and accommodating owner, even when we arrived late.
Cons: As we were 3 in the room, there could have been a bit more hot water.
Pros: Nice and cozy
Pros: The Guest House is very well located, it was clean and comfortable and the owner was very helpful, even came to meet us as we got lost!
Pros: Location in centre of Gabrovo
Pros: The appartment is easily accessible, with only a short flight of steps to climb up. It is cosily decorated and furnished with all kinds of funny old-style things. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchenette well equipped.
Cons: It may be difficult to find a free parking place on street.
Pros: The owner was very friendly and she was ready to meet our needs. The apartment was clean and had everything you need to spend a couple of days there. She offered us options to be more comfortable with the baby, which is something that was neither expected nor asked for. She was absolutely willing to give us the best of their apartment. It was not relevant to me, but the apartment has a very artisty look and decoration.
Cons: There's not much to say in this area. At most, that there wasn't a coffee machine, or we did not find it. I mean one of this old Italian coffee machines. But that was not a problem for us, there is plenty of nice bars around the hood and even plenty of coffee vending machines, which is a very common thing to do in Bulgaria.
Pros: This apartment exceeded our expectations in almost every way. It was very creative and comfortable. Too bad we couldn't stay longer!
Cons: We could not make coffee in the morning. We were hoping to do that. And we couldn't make the stove work, so perhaps it was broken?

Pros: Beautiful ancient house with a lovely yard. The superior room was beautiful -comfortable bed and incredible balcony. Brilliant host. Definitely recommend this place.
Pros: Bozhentsi is a beautiful and charming village. The double bed was nice. Good bathroom. There is a nice garden behind the guest house.
Cons: The room was unfortunately very humid, which surprised us as it was the middle of summer. The double bed was only a little smaller than the room. This left no space for our baby bed, even though we had booked for two with baby. Accessibility with baby stroller is limited.
Pros: The best place i had been in years. Its a fairytale!
Cons: Its perfect. No comment.
Pros: Peace and quiet, village atmosphere and architecture with modern construction and convenience.
Pros: The location that is breathtaking, the architecture, the authenticity well balanced with comfort. Also the kindness of the host.
Cons: The need to provide for yourself in terms of meal in a small village where it is not that easy to go and discuss with restaurants to find solutions for breakfast at least. The room was also a bit small for the price. Even though the house is traditional and this is normal, the place for turning around the bed is too small. Also the fact that the timing for checking in is not respected and people arrive after 22:00 the obvious lack of insonorisation of rooms has a negative impact.
Pros: full of history, village is a tourist spot, clean and well kept, very quiet
Cons: its a nightmare to drive to as up a tiny steep track, you are left to your own , not even milk or bread in cupboard

Pros: The little village was serene and the location of the Staroto Shkolo (the Old School) was magical, next to the little chapel. The view out of the room's window was breathtaking with the green rolling hills in the distance. The hosts' meals were specially prepared, locally sourced and simply delicious. Absolute quietness and relaxation overall. Highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing really. I'd recommend letting the guests know in advance that there are no meal options in the area and hence what to expect in terms of pricing at the hotel prior to arrival, as there are no ATM's in the area and cash may not be readily available.
Pros: This place is a hidden gem. It's an eco house with amazing.dishes cooked by the hostess with all home grown vegetables and fruits. The family supply all meal products from their farm and the products are ecologically grown. It was anot absolute delight to stay there! I will gladly recommend to my family and friends.

We were 15 of us, rented the whole house, the food was exceptional, big terrace allowed us to get together before and after dinner at the restaurant. Pros: My mum told me that it was close to the town centre and it was relatively clean

Pros: The Staff is extremely helpful and even adjusted our dates(due to my error) free of charge! They were so nice and made this lil stay-cation a very positive experience for us.

Pros: What a lovely place to spend time if you want to run away from the dynamic city life. 30 min drive from Gabrovo, the hotel has spectacular view from its panoramic terraces, we had big balconies in our rooms, beds were comfy, place was clean, manager was very kind, staff were just lovely, food was gorgeous, everything we tried from the menu was excellent. My 6 years old niece loved the playground. We were lucky to meet and feed one little friendly fox outside the hotel. Manager very thoughtfully warned us about the fox as guests were good to the animal and it kept coming around. Nice walk from hotel to the geographic centre of Bulgaria (1.5ish km) Nothing beats drinking coffee on one of the panoramic terraces with amazing view of Buzludza and part of Shipka, never realized how beautiful Stara Planina is. We didn’t try the spa but I’m sure that would have been great too. Everywhere around hotel (room, restaurant) there were book shelves with books which left great impression as we live very “full of gadgets” life. There was little chapel we lit candles in. The one thing I forgot to ask was about the few paintings in the restaurant which I loved and meant to ask someone about the name of the artist who has painted them...will leave that for next time as next time will be for sure. Real gem place. We loved it very much!
Pros: The lockation is nice, the view from the terrase is wonderful, the staff is wery kind. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
Pros: Go just for the view and location. Epic scenery. Utterly peaceful. Fresh air. Lovely panoramic rooms. Friendly fox living on the grounds! Lots of long walking and/or trail runs. Huge play room for the baby, with toys and TV!
Cons: No safe drinking water – Had to buy over priced bottled water in the restaurant (take your own!). Restaurant (or the chef) is inflexible – requested simple eggs, but seemed to be a big problem. Doesn't take debit card in the restaurant – have to pay cash and no cash machines for 20 km in nearest town. However, you can pay with card for your room at reception?!
Pros: Good Staff, nice good and the best view probably in total travel
Cons: Zero problems
Pros: Great mountain view from the terrace. Helpful staff and good parking. Well positioned for walking trails, although the walking is mostly in trees.
Cons: Preferred cash to credit cards and charged extra for second coffee at breakfast. On the second morning, a Monday, the restaurant was inexplicably closed so we had no breakfast.
Pros: View, location, comfort, services
Cons: Need more different dishes on the food menu.
Pros: Breakfast was so delicious. Ham and cheese sandwich was perdect. There ara lots of beverages and snack options. You do not need to search for another options.
Cons: Everything was perfect
Pros: Hotel is surrounded with beautiful green forest and is on top of the cliff, it has view to die for. We have been very lucky to have our breakfast in a glorious morning sun above the candy floss clouds
Cons: I should have booked longer stay.

On request, groceries can be delivered directly to the rooms.
Pros: Very clean. We enjoyed our stay.
Pros: The building and the garden
Cons: We booked two double rooms, we got one double and one twin; no big deal really but as I pointed that out, the lady (manager?) said, in a very unprofessional way, that they don't make mistakes and, eventually, it was booking.com fault. Host in general was very rude and with poor manners. Among other things, for example, she did not care about her friends (or at least it looked they were her friends given their familiarity with the place and the staff) having a party with very loud music until 00:30am. Breakfast was decent but if you want an "espresso" you have to pay extra, a thing that the manager remarked as if we were planning of stealing from her the 2 lev for it. Don't expect to have amazing views if you book a "Garden view room". Toilette was tiny and the "shower" is in between the WC and the door, so plan properly how to use it unless you want a mess in the whole room. There is literally nothing around (we expected it), so plan accordingly or you'll have to drive all the way to Gabrovo (10km) if you need something (especially after 8pm).
Pros: The environment is great, specially for rest and enjoying the nature. Specially recommended for families due to the facilities for kids.
Cons: The ambience wasn't as familiar as expected.
Pros: If you like background, welcome ! Very nice place. Nice staff . The owner is particular professional and kind. Breakfast Good value
Pros: Quiet location near Etar village. Good car parking.
Cons: Would not recommend restaurant. We preferred to drive into Gabrovo.
Pros: Beautiful setting with mountain views. The property was very clean and tastefully decorated, with lots of homely touches. Our host was incredibly friendly and made sure we had the best stay. Dinner was delicious and very reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with something for everyone's taste. Sadly we were only passing as it would have been lovely to stay here longer. Our host told us that the etno complex of Etera was a short walk from the property but we were not able to visit. Thank you for a really lovely stay.
Cons: The staff was very friendly but the place is rather simple for the price and lacks character
Pros: Shared balcony gave great views. Close to Etarat & local monastery.
Cons: Restaurant adequate. Breakfast ok.

Pros: We loved the property, the surroundings, the breakfast. Staff was very helpful and polite. The swimming pool was very nice. Wish we could have stayed for a bit longer.
Cons: It’s a bit of “out of the way” but I guess that’s part of the charm as well.
Pros: Location, space and staff
Cons: Rooms are not cleaned every day, towels are not getting changed, WiFi is really poor
Pros: Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. The local Gabrovo bread, freshly made, was especially good. Waitress was super-helpful. The all season swimming pool was clean and warm and great.
Cons: Breakfast was a little disorganised.
Pros: Location is pretty good, nice place for relax. Staff is nice and helpful. Pool is large and water was clean and warm.
Cons: Rooms are outdated, bed lenen also and there was strange smell in the room. Pillows definatelly need to be replaced with new ones. Breakfast can be with better variaty.
Pros: Beds was great + large rooms
Pros: The pool was perfect, clean with pleasant water temperature. The atmosphere in the hotel was relaxing. Very nice garden.
Cons: Poor food choices. The barbecue wasn't working and one had to ask in advance what could be served for lunch or dinner.

Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful. Although prior communication with the hotel indicated otherwise, we were able to bring our bicycles to our room. The room was large, its interior was certainly outdated but clean. No comments on the breakfast, because we left before breakfast time.
Cons: Just a short one night stay, so nothing really.
Pros: The apartment was spacious and nice arranged. The AC was very good, not so noisy. Everything was clean and functional, the shower just perfect. We had a good breakfast in the morning; we could choose from four menu options, with juice and tea/cafe.
Cons: No restaurants or shops in the area, as the hotel is about 2-3 km away from the center.
Pros: Pleasant place at a nice location, easy to find in the outskirts of Gabrovo, it felt quiet and surrounded by green woodlands. The room was spacious and cozy. Restaurant at the hotel didn't work, but the hosts directed us to an awesome pizza place nearby where we had a great dinner. Croissants at breakfast in the hotel were glorious : )
Cons: The beds were a little hard.
Cons: Breakfast was poor.
Pros: Reasonable price, average room quality but enough for travelers like me. Nothing fancy, nothing bad. Good spot, with fast time to the city center or ETAR craft museum. Quite close to fuel station if that matter.
Cons: So far none

Pros: Old house, great views.
