Hotel De Leugenaar is situated on the longest sea boulevard of The Netherlands. The hotel offers panoramic views over the water and free Wi-Fi throughout including on the terrace. The guest rooms have a TV with Dutch, German, French, English and American channels. In the morning, an extensive breakfast buffet is available. The brasserie and conservatory offers a special setting for lunch or dinner with views on the sea ships that pass by on the water. When weather is nice, you can enjoy the views from the terrace. Middelburg is a 15-minute car drive away and you can reach the A58 motorway within 10 minutes.
Our 3rd or 4th visit to this hotel this year. Great location, friendly staff, and we'll come again.
Not the hotel's fault, in fact they could have helped me if I had asked. I turned in the parking pass, but stayed on the beach an extra hour Sunday morning and got a parking ticket. So either ask to keep the parking pass until you depart, within reason, or pay for parking! The Vlissingen police are on the job!
Location Is the best, the room very, very small
The room way,way to small
I grew up in this town, and knew about this little gem; the balconies of the water front rooms are just big enough to sit comfortably and take in the best view of "the boulevard." The terrace at ground level has a section which allows full enjoyment of sun and sea with protection from the sometimes very strong winds. The breakfast bar is generous and varied; lunch and dinner choices, while not aiming at "culinary high-stands" include well-prepared regional specialties. While I whould not think of Vlissingen as a town to go "shopping", the center of town with the usual variety of stores is just minutes away, a pleasant, brief walk; cars can be left in a city parking lot, for which the hotel provides permits.
The rooms are small but there is no way to change that without ruining the charm of the older building. The very young staff will undoubtedly gain more experience as the seasons go on. While the hotel is hand-capped accessible, manoeuvring wheel-chairs in the small rooms and narrow hall-ways will be hard.
2nd stay there in 6 weeks; excellent hotel with friendly staff, awesome location. Had a 2nd floor seaside balcony room - oh my! The beach is 50m away, the center of town is 10 min slow walk, it's a great place. All the hotel team were wonderful with my 4 year old. We'll go back again, I'm certain.
Location across the street from beach cannot be beat! Quality-price rapport is also excellent. Good continental breakfast, staff is helpful and ever-present. Parking lot in back at 2.5/day is good deal, too. As always, my 4 yr old was well received; friendly team!
It was right on the beach, and really close to the centrum. Its a perfect location, the breakfast is great.
The room is a littlebit noisy, you can hear then somebody is walking on the top rooms.
Everything but the cleanliness of the room
The room was not so clean.
We really enjoy staff friendliness
Beautifull view , very charming and lovely breakfast room
the beds are to soft
Comfort of room, outlook, proximity to centre and breakfast
Being Scottish I am used to a universal no-smoking policy. I took bad with smoking in public areas. The radio alarm in the bedroom was not working. Whilst there was an electric kettle in the room there was an additional charge for tea, coffee, milk, etc.
