Pros: Great staff, great location- close to hiking trails. Ideal for young families.
Pros: It was the warmness of the hosts Max and his wife, who were such lovely people, that made our stay so memorable. Italian hospitality in a Swiss setting. The hotel was spotless, the food was great and the rooms looked out over the water with a back drop of mountains. Easy access via the Postbus to the Val Verzasca walk
Pros: Location, view, the room size, the ammenities
Pros: Beautiful location right next to the river, about 10 minutes or so to the famous bridge. The village it's in is amazing, take the time just walk around in the hills and admire all the old houses made out of stone.
Cons: Prices were high for food, but I guess that's just Switzerland.
Pros: Excellent location if you want to hike in the valley. Next to the bus stop so you can use the Ticino card to get to your hike starting point or back to the hotel easily. Overall very pleasant stay, staff is supper friendly, the breakfast was great, the room was tidy.
Pros: Great place! The owners are so nice and helpful. The bus stop is right at the entrance of the hotel, so very easy to visit the valley and come back! Clean and confortable + room with an amazing view!
Pros: Perfect location, very clean, staff are very kind, friendly and provided a lot of tips on the region. The view from the room is amazing! There is also very nice restaurant in the hotel.
Pros: Location, and the diferent menu, rooms and working staff
Cons: During the nights there aren't many options that are offered to the public, it's good to go in your own car
Pros: It was a 2-night stay. The hotel was located right next to the bus stop, which made it easy and accessible. I was way early to the hotel than my check-in time but was gladly allowed to take the room as it was not occupied. That was really nice of them. The location itself is perfect to visit the Sonogno and Lavertezzo. Nice restaurant, the food tasted good.
This hotel is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Vogorno. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city. This Vogorno hotel provides parking on site.
Pros: A complex of ancient houses converted into guest houses. The houses are charming but need to adapt to the special character of the place that includes low ceilings, limited access, and relative density. Besides this beautiful scenery and the staff are right to help.
Pros: Beautifully converted to holiday accommodation, you still have the feel of being in the original village. Incredibly picturesque, well maintained and lots of (partly unexpected!) services, such as sauna, BBQ, chill out room - and the the beautiful Grotto to eat breakfast or dinner.
Cons: Without a car, you can't get to many other restaurants in the evening (Hotel al Lago is good and close) as the bus stops early. Not so easy to walk to the next village due to a tunnel/bridge and walking on the road. Not the fault of the property, but something to be aware of.
Pros: Very friendly staff and just a great atmosphere living like in a small village with beautiful old traditional houses
Cons: I would recommend to stay more than one day there as the prices drop extremely when staying 3 days or longer.
Pros: Amazing and friendly service
Cons: Authenticity of the property
Pros: Beautifully restored collection of rustici
Pros: The staff was very nice and helpful. Very clean and nice surroundings. The location in this wonderful valley was very nice.
Cons: Sorry to say but the beds were no good and we left one day earlier than expected. Something to work on for the owners.
Pros: Great location and views! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food from the restaurant was delicious! We plan to return very soon! Thank you Tatiana and Silvan!
Pros: Breakfast wasn't included. The location is beautiful and the people friendly. We had a great time.
Cons: The only thing missing was a fan or air conditioner in the heat wave. Everything else was perfect. The mountains and scenery were beautiful.
Pros: We loved rustic style of our little house. Great job they made to renovate these old houses. Very cosy and cute! Good quality linen. I love puffy duvet;) Perfect location for hiking trip to stay 1/2 nights. Good Osteria but you have to pre book as it is very busy.
Cons: Only that we could not use BBq due to dry weather.
Pros: The property is beautiful, but what is not told or seen is that appartments 1-5 are all facing the main street anf it is very noise.
Cons: Noise coming from the street. Very little privacy.
Located in the Verzasca Valley 15 km from Locarno, the Al Lago overlooks Lake Vogorno. It features a traditional restaurant and offers free Wi-Fi. The restaurant serves fish specialities, grilled dishes, and a selection of pizzas. A continental breakfast is available every morning. The terrace offers direct views of the lake. Guests of Hotel Al Lago can try bungee jumping on the famous dam wall, just 200 metres away. Free private parking is available on site. The Berzona Bus Stop is just 50 metres away.
Pros: I really liked that the hotel is right by the bus stop for the bus that goes through the famous Verzasca valley. That's why I picked the hotel.
Cons: Communication with the receptionist / waitress was a little difficult, as she spoke Italian, very little English and no German... Also, it would be better if breakfast started at 7am instead of 8am, so that one could catch the 7:44 bus to Lavertezzo / Sonogno. This way, you have to wait for the 9:44 bus... I would have liked an egg for breakfast, but it wasn't offered. There were no rolls (Brötchen), only croissant and bread, but it's no big deal and whatever was offered was good.
Pros: Very clean
Cons: Small breakfast.
Pros: Lovely location. Friendly staff. Good food. Very nice breakfast.
Pros: Great location , clean rooms and good staf
Pros: The location is very easy accessable by public transportation. We were allowed into our room already several hours before regular check in. The internet was very good and fast. The Location is a Pizzeria which is very practical especially in the off season, because you can stay in the house for dinner. They offer more than just Pizza and the dinner was good. During warmer season you can eat outside on the terrace with a wonderful view over the lake and the mountains.
Cons: The light in the room is not sufficient for reading (too dark). The Mixed Salad was nothing spezial with a set dressing (no choice). The breakfast is too expensive (15 CHF). You have no options, there is no buffet, no fruits and no cereals. You get a fixed 'menue' with a little cheese, Salami and ham, jam, honey and butter. They decide which joghurt you get (what if you don't like banana joghurt?). We had some bread (1 kind) and one Croissant/person.
Pros: Great location overlooking the lake! Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast with yogurts, meats, and cheese included.
Pros: Location, stunning views
Cons: Property fine - interior could do with updating
Pros: Amazing view from our terrace and the terrace from the restaurant! Good food, maybe a little too much garlic on the diavolo pizza... Very nice room and bathroom, clean and neat. Short distance to Fortalezza, something you shouldn't miss when visiting.
Cons: Due to the hot weather, the rooms were very warm. Although there was a ventilator in every room, we could hardly get the temperature to drop. An airco could have been a solution, but maybe that is not nessecary throughout the rest af the year.
Pros: Proximity to the valley bus was great, but even this is not worth staying here.
Cons: Terrible value for money. The "mountain view" rooms are street side with a view of houses across the street, rather than the mountain. The street is so loud one cannot sleep with the window open, and it was thus too hot to sleep due to lack of ventilation in the room. For ~70CHF/person per night incl. breakfast, one expects MUCH more comfort and quality. The prices listed at the hotel were ~10CHF/person cheaper than we paid on booking.com. The breakfast consisted of cheap, weak filter coffee, a few oven gipfeli and pieces of bread, with commercial jams and cheap sliced meat, definitely not worth 15CHF/person. Lunches at the Pizzeria were average at best, with salads consisting of commercial vegetables from bags/cans, and pizzas from a commercial oven with cheap ingredients, much like one would expect from your local takeaway. The price of food at the hotel is comparable to the "Osteria Paradiso" across the road, which serves fresh and delicious pasta and salads at roughly the same price, and which I can definitely recommend (their lasagne is awesome!). If everything would be half as expensive, it would be good value.
Pros: Good location for quiet rest, It is advisable to take numbers 7 or 8, they have a balcony overlooking the lake, but a common bath !!! Great staff, excellent restaurant with authentic Italian cuisine! great breakfasts!
