i requested an iron at c10.00pm and one was not available. this was annoying as i had a very early meeting the next day
Top hotel. Top restaurant. No tea/coffee making facilities in room.
The size, comfort and cleanliness of the room compared to the very competitve cost.
very noisy the morning from 7h00 with the chambermaids in the corridor!very old furnitures in the room, and bathroom needs to be renovated. do not have the quality features for a 4* hotel, needs to be renovated.
The hotel was inviting and cosy and offered a nice restaurant and bar. The rooms were large and comfortable and the decor made me feel I was in a hunting lodge. A little bit in the middle of nowhere. Difficult to get a taxi at the train station meaning we had to walk 20 min to get to the hotel. Next door to a property with some farm animals which meant being woken up from 5am by a cockerel.
the turkish evening barman: he is really kind and enjoyable no minibar in the room no italian channel on the tv the waitresses of the breakfast: bothering you while eating to know your room number
Efficient , clean, good price to quality and gives a country -side feeling (animals in the morning) , close enough to city center, but far enought to have easy parkig and calm Internet is charged for ridiculosly high price (vs Bastion grp - free of charge)
good food noisey heating system
Buffet breakfast fancy bathroom armatures. No tissues
The Hotel is well located for someone who wants to be in a green surrounding, not far away from the Hague or the beach. Really recommendable is a luch or dinner at the "Upstairs" restaurant. Nice terrace, inspired decoration, professional service, good food. One seems to be in another world, not really part of the hotel. Room decoration not very inspired but ok. The staff was fairly young and unexperienced and seemed to be overwhelmed by the crowds of people invading the place on that particular weekend. Neither the hotel, nor the staff were able to cope. I was told that it was an exceptional weekend. I had an aperitif on the downstairs terrace and the table was dirty, the waiter did not care to clean it and the terrace floor was full of garbage that had not been cleaned for some time. Not really what you expect from a 4 star rated hotel.
Location, size of rooms Over decorated, bit to dark
Everything about the Mainport Design Hotel in Rotterdam is a thoughtful, and comfortable design experience. From it's location overlooking the historic harbor and adjacent to the Erasmus Bridge to position next to the Tram transit stop...is a well connected position in Rotterdam. My room was very comfortable and a high-design style. Service was excellent throughout, not stuffy or pretentious, but well mannered and accessible. Some 5-star hotels trying too hard to be exceptional, making the visitor feel like it's a privilege just being a guest. But I felt that the hotel and staff really are proud of their facility and are eager to share the good vibe with their clients. Only getting to stay two nights.
The staff were very attentive and helpful.
Cosy environment, interesting design, beautiful furniture and paintings. The staff were courteous and proficient in their jobs. The hotel was a bit too far from the city center.
the decor was very interresting and we enjoyed that Bad service, i.e. room was not cleaned thoroughly, soap and paper ran out during our stay, two lightbulbs weren't working, coffee/tea supplies was not replenished at all during our stay.. The room lay-out was a bit tight and the bedstead sticks out very far, making it very easy to knock your hips when walking around the bed.
I liked the freindly nature of the staff, as well as the location of the hotel. Also this is Roseanne Hill who was booked under Diane's booking and stayed in rrom 1101 with my son. yes, breakfast could have been more fresh and varied. The chair in my hotel room fell apart as i sat on it, causing a small but painful injury to my right arm. I am considering making a claim on this. The windows in the room could not close properly, and we did not have control of the heating in our room as it was centrally controlled. Therefore we had to have extra bedding. The hotel was convenient for our trip in other ways. Also on the hotel review, it staed that we would have a free welcome drink on our arrival. The staff were not awre of this when we asked, therefore we did not get our free drink.
nice large room (studio)
Friendly and professional restaurant staff Single bed- when was the last time an adult slept in a single bed!
Heating system was too bad !! very cold...
Very comfortable room, relaxed atmosphere
the service of the hotel staff, the size of the room, the view from the room. The main light in the room didn't work properly, the shower was broken...
Nice & modern. Bit minimalistic but all things you need in a room. Cool late night bar. I wasn't convinced about the flatscreen TV within the mirror so you couldn't turn it. Parking is extra but they give you a discount as it gets pricey very quickly.
Amenities, Nespresso machine were good! TV was very strange. And function of 'Smart TV'(?) didn't work. They didn't give a full detail of method for 'Smart TV' operation. Even remote control didn't work well.
Very stylish hotel. Futuristic. TV in the mirror. Nice!! Excellent breakfast. They even make omelets. This is rare in Europe. Super great staff. Friendly, very helpful. Parking expensive. Even though the hotel does give a discount.
The hotel is very kid friendly. The buffet breakfast and dinner were very over priced for the quality of the food.
Great hotel for families with children. The hotel is a little bit far away from the Leiden, however it is easy to reach the city center for car travellers.
total relaxation in superb enviroment
Sauna and great rooms -
It was indeed buffet breakfast, swimming pool There is no possibility to open window to take fresh air from outside.
The breakfast was wonderful no
The atmosphere, the quiet rooms, and the large bathtub.
We really enjoyed our stay here, the rooms were great, very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was sumptuous with lots of choices. All in all, the hotel is perfect for families with young children.
Room was nice and clean and breakfast was good Lack of supervision in pool and kids running around in sauna
It was perfect with young children. They could run around safely and had the playground and the swimming pool. We also liked the fact that we could hire bicycles at the hotel.
Hotel well positioned near to centre and walking distance to rail station. Good value for money with competant staff. Unfortunately a wedding party was staying at hotel on the Saturday, and were noisily walking the corridors till 3-30am. I'm sure an isolated case though.
The big bed, size of room, friendliness of staff, the tram stop right across the street from the hotel. Did not like that we could not use the fridge for our own things, and moving anything inside would incur a charge.
Friendly staff, nice clean rooms We were given 10th floor room which is not ideal but maybe that was the only one availble.
In general the hotel is very old. The room had a weird smell. The worst Hilton ever!!!
Hotel is dated but very clean. The breackfast is delicious No parking space and the public parking is very very expensive.Free parking from 23 to 12 Saturday to Sunday.
It was close to the casino & a nice hotel A little pricey
The hotel is renovated and up to the latest standards of comfort and luxury. It is quiet and soundproofed. Food is excellent. The only thing to criticize is Internet speed but they do offer a fast paid version if you need that.
nice hotel lovely bed and pillows, quiet hotel with good service nothing, will definately stay there again
The staff we encountered was excellent in all areas of the facility, friendly, helpful and professional minor maintenance in the room was required - broken hair blower hose, poor ventalation in the the bathroom
Location is what we were looking for. Very good hotel with friendly staff. Would go back and also recommend this place
location close to the town centre, beds very comfortable, possibility to smoke in the room the staff was extremely rude especially the night staff, I also found them quite aggressive
The staff are excellent. The rooms are old,... needs major upgrade.
One of the three restaurants, Breakers, is right on the beach -- quite a nice experience! Also, the rooms are nicely furnished and the bed is a deligfht!
Fabulous terrace looking out to the sea that gives a resort feeling. The personnel were all extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. A great beach hotel especially for a weekend get-away. Close to restaurants and shops if needed. It is not from my experience in todays standards a 5 star hotel, but certainly well above a 4 star. However for the price paid it is in line. Needs some modernising.
Personal attention of staff / excellent bed/quietness furnishing and 'emptyness' of the floors
The sea nearby
It's great to see a hotel of it's size and age keeping up service and standards. Great pool and the room service breakfast is exquisite. The car park is bit ugly.
luxury hotel on the beach
The Spa and the friendly personnel
Location and facilities No tea & coffe facilities in the room.
Service Rooms need re-furbishing/renovation
All staff, whether at reception, marketing, restaurants and bar, room service, housekeeping, cleaning staff, were professional, polite, cheerful and efficient. Room armchairs upholstery needs renewal or professional cleaning.
Friendly staff. Good facilities. Night room service should be improved. Limited menu and food served cold.
The beds, the cleaning the balcony and the seaside. expensive parking, not so nice staff, expensive breakfast
Very luxurious hotel, gorgeous pool. Well situated. Friendly staff. Sunday nights, the pool is for bathing in the nude only.
Great sauna and pool facilities. Hotel staff not overly helpful regarding dinner recommendations or sights in and around the area.
the location directly to the beach and the flexibility of the staff.
Possibly one of the best hotels in the Netherlands - our stay was absolutely perfect! Staff is extremely helpful and ensures that clients are happy at all times. Spa, bars, restaurants and all other facilities are fantastic.
Excellent, high standing hotel The eur 28 charge for the parking of one night!!!
The position of the hotel is of course fantastic, right on the sea! The staff is pretty friendly even if some of them looks slightly arrogant... Three things were really not good: under the bed you could find everything! They did not clean at all there. Second the forniture looks old and very "kitsch". Last but not least the the room did not have any terrace and the window was too small and too high, so from the bed u could not sea anything else than the radiator!
Easy access to the beach and village f Noordwijk. Loading/Unloading did not went smooth. Breakfast is very expensive especially for young kids.
The breakfast was good , but a little expensive on top of the room rate... The AC was very noisy, but since we were having a room on the street side, it was even more noise to sleep with the window open.
I feel back in the good old times and it gave me a warm impression. no complaints
We eat in the Lido Cafe Style Restraunt and also the Ala-Cart more upmarket Restaurant onboard and enjoy them both and the value they offered...
nice accomodation, but very expensive food and drink onboard and a quite remote location some distance from the centre. remote location and the high cost of onboard food and drink.
The food and room were excellant!! the querkyness of the place was a great +. A little out of the way, but taxis were on hand. FAB++++ Did not really see Many staff, apart from reception to ask questions to
bedroom (clean, tidy, good atmosphere); breakfast, lunch, dinner (all very good); total atmosphere on the boat was good
great experience to stay on the famous ship.rooms where really nice with lots of space. location
historic ambiance interior rooms are confined, in my opinion
Perfect view from the 12th floor. Nice bar, good service. Cool room.
Views from all areas Swivel chairs in water bar too fast after a few drinks!
The Staff were the kind I would happily employ and had great temperaments suitable to the `Industry. Good position for Museums and a quick ride to Theaters. Beds too soft and ended up with a backache.Pillows too thin for comfort of neck. Smart tap design in bathroom was difficult to decipher re bath or shower etc until shown and no signage or directions to tell you how to use them. Design upmarket utilitarian and found anywhere. Usual expensive mini bars and snacks.
Swimming pool and sauna/steamroom were excellent, and free internet access very useful. Easy to find and accessible to tram and metro. Breakfast was expensive.
Very loud, no alternative room available, under renovation, no fitness area.
Room was fantastic and room service excellent. Would go again
We loved the view at the town and the harbour from the 13. etage. The breakfast was good, but expensive. The room was excellent.
Great location and good connection to public transport Bathroom was rather small
Location. Breakfast good. Style of rooms was not that I excepted. Whole floor carpet was awful, totally different style than other things. Excepted also more from SPA: No private rooms for changing clothes. No bath jacket + shoes at room.
The hotel was very good value, the rooms were well kept and the staff were very frienly.
I absolutely thought the staff was great. From the receptionist(s) - like Miryim to Susanne, to the Morning Breakfast staff - like Zsofia. There were all very helpful, and kind. The roads to get there are still being built out, as such, you seemed to have to drive a circular course to get there. Regardless, it was easy if you have GPS.
great location, nice bathroom cleanliness of my room, view to the backside, wifi with charge
One of the worst rooms I have ever stayed - very depressing. Lighting was awful as was furniture. Why such a big room (defined 'suite') if over half is just empty space? It looked like a prison cell.
Location, price, bar, availability of lifts
Very central location. Next to de Bijenkorf. The room itself is al little bit out-dated. Curtains are a greyish white instead of white. Bed is not the newest of beds. But for the price ok.
well located in the centre of the city
very elegant, new and hip room interior design. Impressive bathroom. Very clean. Central position. Good breakfast also a bit expensive for the quality. noise from street
Central location. Near the train station and near several bars/cafes
Room was nice, not small, extra pillows, mini-bar, some magazines, bathtub (not a shower) in the bathroom.
Your women personal, very receptive, kind and nice. The position of hotel is in a very nice town area. Is not possible to have something for eat after 11 PM. Fun from toilette is working continously with high noise.
The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable We didnt take the breakfast which was a little expensive when our party was 6 people. I think yours should be inclusive of breakfast
Nothing special to comment It is by no means a 4 star hotel - 2 at best
easy reach for towns To much cigarette smoke, No tea/coffee making facilities
Location. Good size room. Comfortable bed.
close business area problem pre payment and locking up my debit card until I returned home
Car parking was ample and place easy to find. Rooms light and airy The photo on the website does not represent a building that looks like a monstrous 1960's toilet block. There is no warning of the significant construction and the noise that starts early in the morning. The barman uses his bare fingers to retrieve a piece of lemon from it's jar and when I asked him if he could use tongs, he just said "no". After that experience, we ate out and skipped breakfast the next day. Not going back.
Location of hotel is perfect for travelers come with car. Great breakfast. Not 4 stars at all! At least the room we stayed. They were worn/old furnitures in it.
For the moment of my stay it was reconstruction at the hotel. Very noisy.
The position of this hotel is excellent for visiting Den Haag and Amsterdam (by car). Efficient service at the reception desk. Not a 4 stars at all! At least the triple room were we stayed. They were worn/old furnitures in it. Also, the internet connection is expensive, too!
Huge rooms - with very easy access to the car park
The breakfast was good and plenty of choice Building works - noise and dust - no air conditioning
very helpful staff, good car parking, and very nice modern bar. Vegtable soup (for a vegatarian!) contained meatballs !!!! - otherwise great food & good service... Lighting in rooms (the older block) is poor, seems to be energy saving, BUT lighting is dim and takes a while to 'warm up'
The location near city center
Very functional, no problems
Very good location in the city center and only 5 minutes walk from the railway station. Very big room (double) and quiet.
We liked the friendly, helpful, professional staff and the spacious room, as well as the central location of the hotel wrt the train station, museums, city centre and other places of tourist interest.
Good central hotel next to canal. our booking from booking.com was lost. luckily the hotel had 2 spare rooms.if not this would have been very problematic.
Friendly staff, clean and nice accommodation, good location, and a great continental breakfast
Very central. Clean. Lovely old building features in the hotel. The staff did not communicate at all with us unless we did from our side. We were never asked whether we were satisfied with our room or if there was anything we needed, not even before checking out. It was as though they were not interested in the guests. Even the hotel owners did not bother to converse with guests.
Location was great. Breakfast was very nice and price was good.
This was an excellent value, lovely room & breakfast.
Great location within walking distance of main square. Hotel was comfortable and we had a nice large room overlooking the canal.
Staff friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Excellent location.
The room. It was very silence Non smoker
Super nice terrace, on a river.
no bar .coffee area
Proper size beds, even though a bit on the soft side. Nice, big, clean room & bathroom. Good breakfast. The reception staff a bit condescending, but they answered all the questions asked.
A lot of the hotel has been massively refurbishefd since I last stopped there and it certainly has made a big difference for the better. The reastaurant is nothing short of excellent. Clearly someone had been smoking in my room - housekeeping should take care of this prior to rooms being released to guests
The ease of touring the area from this location. Not having a mimi bar, since the bar was closed for condstruction
Excellent deck by the canal, perfect for a glass of wine any time of the day. Good and friendly staff. Very spacious rooms and bathrooms. Free parking. Expensive internet if you don't have your own provider.
We asked for a pot of tea to take to our room and was given a drty jug containing water and the cups were not very clean.
Nice hotel, big comfi room and beds, guy on the desk was extra helpfull and friendly. Outside of the city, makes sense only if you have a car.Heating didnt work at night- was crazy cold in the room when we arrived-around 11 pm. And they switched it on in the morning only.
a comfortable and very pleasant hotel .I really appreciated welcome of staff and restaurant
The staff were very helpful in giving advice about what to see and which places to visit. Although the hotel are refurbishing their dinning rooms, we found the temporary facilities more than adequate, but the dinner menu rather limited.
Free parking, Huge bed, Bathroom. Ideal place to stay when visiting Blijdorp zoo. Luxurious room for 100 EUR. Sheets were stained although the rest of the room was clean, Breakfast was not included and expensive , so we didn't eat there. Hotel is very huge building, not very romantic place to eat. We had to pay a warranty of 50 EUR when we checked in, and they "forgot" to tell us. When I saw the receipt of my VISA, I had to ask what this 50 EUR is for.
comfortable bed limited parking possibilities
great restaurant, great staff, great room! more for groups, and a bit out of the way of the city, but there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel.
Very helpful staff and we were pleased to stay there
It was a very espacious hotel, the rooms (bathroom and sleeping area), the restaurant, the hall,... Very nice staff and professional. Food (diner and breakfast) was excellent. I cannot say anything, maybe if they had a swimming-pool, could be the perfect hotel of the area :)
Everything Brand New. Staff very keen to please. Will definitely use again next time in Rotterdam Everything was perfect
Very comfortable and clean hotel. Delicious breakfast and very friendly service.
Spacious rooms, good quality furniture and comfortable beds, modern design, excellent breakfast, professional service and sufficient free parking near the hotel Welcome pack in the room with coffee/tea did not contain the coffee and tea.
Hotel staff are quite friendly and a great assist on info about getting around town Not at all! Rather I regret that I had to leave too soon! the info on distance from the Schipol airport on the web should be more accurate though.
modern, clean locked room window, strange smells, bar area
Hotel could not have been better, a little bit out of the centre of Rotterdam but that's why we chose it - very close to the Feyernoord football stadium (a football match was the reason for our trip) and a couple of minutes drive off the motorway. Our stay could not have been better. The staff were also excellent, so was the free car parking which was in plentiful supply! Not really. It was aimed at business people judging by the location but there were mainly tourists when we were there. Maybe an outdoor play area would have been useful however there was free use of games inc Playstation and some childrens toys.
good breakfast beds and other room furniture not really up to date for 4 star hotel
It was convenient. Closing time of kitchen - 22:30h.
Hotel clean with nice lobby and staff very helpful. Breakfast was excellent Prices of drinks in minibar too expensive
............. the staff dont have answers for alot of my question . so far away from the central . noisy most of the time .
Close to where I had my appointment. Breakfast intake done by not very friendly Asian female person. Let her start with a smile in the morning.
nothing special normal
Conveniently located near Erasmus University, and bus stop is right in front. I was offered upgrade (superior > executive) at EUR25/night upon C/I, which included free minibar w/ Nespresso & mineral water, bath lobe, slippers, broadband access (upgrade from wifi), and high floor (less noise and better view), which I though was a good deal. Room was spacious, nice and clean. Comfy firm mattress. Breakfast was offered at two levels, EUR 9.50 for continental, or EUR 19 for buffet (many choices of meat/cheese/pastries/juice, enough for consecutive stay). 'Breakfast included' rate meant buffet. Dinner was good, with enough selection of glass wines, a little pricey though. No other restaurants nearby, except for on-campus HOT SPAR and food court.
comfort, nice environment, free parking and good breakfast
close to the centrum, easy to find when we had breakfast on Monday morning, the personeel were already cleaning the tables around and preparing them for lunch. We felt like we are disturbing them... (we were in time for the breakfast)...
Accommodating staff, modern classy hotel, superb breakfast, inexpensive bar convenient for city break.
