The staff were especially friendly and accommodating. The view of the vineyards was great. And the dinner was the best we had in France. The hotel is a little out of the way, in the middle of the vineyards between Dijon and Beaune. But that gave it it's relaxing quality.
size of room and bathroom; modern conveniences too far away from Dijon or anything else of interest --- only restaurant nearby was closed that night; charged for outdoor parking; no charm/personality
Very expensive for the location. Room was very nice and bathroom was the best we encountered on our trip, but did not feel it deserved the price it charged, especially given the impression you get from the exterior: right off the highway. Price -- thought that for what we were spending we would be getting a resort-like experience in a beautiful country setting, not a hotel that was right on the highway and looked run-down from the outside. Inside the decor was very nice, but initial impression was quite disappointing.
excellent staff; immaculate facilities and rooms; peaceful; highly recomended
Fabulous food and wine, also really nice and relaxing to use the spa after our long drive. Breakfast is too expensive - 16 Euros per person.
ALL was excellent Nothing
The hotel was located in a beautiful area and all facilities were lovely, comfortable, and clean. The breakfast was terrific. The cost was a good value. We could not have been more pleased.
modern intelligent design of the hotel and rooms. spacious rooms. outstanding value. competent staff no
Everything was perfect: the room, breakfast, the indication for restaurant, the wine tasting suggested, the wine visit. The hotel staff is really very kind. We loved everything and would certanly recomend this hotel and stay there again.
Large, comfortable, clean and modern room room. convenient location and good facilities. I felt my massage was overpriced for what I got. I have had full body deep muscle massages here in the states and the one at Le Richebourg was neither.
Very restful environment. Room was very comfortable The meals were very expensive and marginal in terms of value. Breakfast at €22 was a lot. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice. Room was quite noisy from people upstairs - not their fault just very noisy plumbing
Ambiance, Style, Accommodation Staff distracted by a large wedding: Impersonal service in dining room; late arrival of breakfast; Failure of bath plug;
The outside of the hotel is stunning, beautiful grounds, which makes the experience special. The staff are welcoming and gave us a room upgrade. The rooms felt a bit dingy and not perfectly clean, which you would expect at a four star hotel.
Loved the historic feel Wait staff could be more attentive.
The building, grounds and peace and quiet bed was not very comfortable, choice at breakfast was very poor, dinner and wine prices too high for the quality.
We thought that it was the worst value for money of any hotel we have stayed in. We paid for a DeLUXE room and are put at the top floor with no lift and needed 60 stairs to reach the room. The aircon did not work and have one small dormer window. The room was sparley furnished and old and tired. We would never recommend this place to anyone.
Superb setting, wonderful buildings, great food and wine. Nothing
Location, surroundings and external appearance moldy bathroom (flies, moisture, broken tile and no water in the bathtube). Room not so clean either ... No air conditioning. Restaurant: low/med standard. No sommelier service (astonishing for such an otherwise large choice of wine.) Poor service: dining and breakfast (Dining: no desert unless order provided at the begining - information received after the main course- Breakfast: coffee after 15mn, bread after 30 mn, cutlery after 1h and cups and glasses after 1h15). During breakfast time, also departure time, staff uses elevator (customers have to wait).Food: very inequal (dining: 3 starters tested 1: good, 1:average, 1 poor, 2 main courses tested:1 ok, 1 poor, no desert. Price: high . Breakfast: poor quality and choice. Price: very high.
Great position in wine country, though not a particularly nice village. Impressive chateau and lovely rooms Dinner was very disappointing with poor service and very ordinary steaks
The food and rooms! We could not have a shower as it was broken. We had to have a bath!!!!!
No resturant in the evening. No kettle or tea making facility in rooms.
Very clean, quiet and cost effective Bed was hard
Very clean and functional None
free parking , close to a shoping center no free internet available , no toilet brush
Ease of booking
Location near autoroute, good price for very good accommodation. Easy access to town centre and for petrol/shopping when on a journey. Have stayed several times before and will be back. Prefer the rooms at this hotel that have a separate toilet and showeroom ensuite.
Booking in easy and efficient - looks a fairly new hotel. Very clean and easy to find. 20-minute walk into village with some excellent restaurants offering food of region. Will definately use again - great value. Used for overnight stop on way back from south of France.
Cheap. Free parking.
Clean, warm, easy to find off motorway, great as a stop over on the way to the alps
It is a typical Etap hotel: it's functional, clean, friendly and offers a simple breakfast. There is a supermarket nearby. The rooms overlooking the street are a bit loud due to the traffic, but the windows are acceptable. The volume of the TV sets are limited :-).
Quitness Far from restaurants
Lovely location- very nice grounds for relaxing in.
Location in teh heart of the Burgundy wine country Breakfast was fine but basic.
Clean room and bathroom , excellent staff, good security No tea/coffee making facility in the room, breakfast fruit salad still frozen (not fresh fruit).
clean, helpful staff, quiet, excellent, restaurants nearby no restaurant on site
Staff was very friendly, quality was perfect and the chairs in the garden were perfect for having a glass of wine and evaluate all the wine buys of the day. opening hours of reception. opening at 8 is to late for early travelers
Hotel was located in good proximity to lots of wineries in the Burgundy area. A good clean, comfortable hotel. Free internet was also a bonus!
lovely setting. very friendly staff.comfortable, clean rooms and free parking on site. would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
room a good size-nice lawn-new flat- screen high def picture hotel staff could not assist our getting on their wireless network
the decor and position were excellent and the signing very good. the food was good the food was overpriced. the bedrooms were apart from the accommodation and as it was raining was inconvenient.
Simply put, it was gorgeous
size of room and environment food was set menu and resturant not open at all times and area is remote so not much choice with meals
nothing! we arrived to find no one around and our key in our door and a damp dark smelly room and no welcome of any sort. breakfast was a joke fro 10euros adn we checked out immediately after and found a divine place for similar money and 10 times nicer - it is ridiculous that the cheaper rooms are so dark and damp and no air con or fans see above - the actual chateau is amazing but the cheaper accommodation is really not good
Excellently equipped room, wonderful breakfast, quiet location with very professional, attentive & friendly owners. Absolutely nothing to fault.
The room was large and well situated, very peaceful and extremely well maintained Reception not always manned - staff available in the restaurant area next door.
excellent rooms, good location. Little bit poor on the english lanuage side.
I had read the reviews and they were all good, however, I truely felt that this was one of the most welcoming hotels that we stayed at in our 4 weeks on touring. The owner took great pride in her hotel, everything was immaculate, the bedroom we had was beautifully furnished and the ensuite bathroom was bigger than most people have at home .! Everything was new and thankfully well respected by previous guests. The breakfast provided was unbelievable...nothing was too much trouble. Well hats off to this hotel...I would say our experience was 10/10. The only thing that perhaps was a bit inconvenient was that we couldnt check in until after 3pm..but there was plenty to see in the countryside being wine country !!
The hotel staffs were really freindly and the room was very clean and nice. We want to visit here again.
Spacious, cleaqn room, good balcony, helpful staff, excellent restaurant There were no facilities in the village but Nuit St. Georges was not far away
Good value, staff very willing to help Staff is unable to speak English. No staff at check-in counter when I arrive (the restaurant next door helped me called the staff).
very friendly staff, it felt more like a chambre d'hote. We will definitely return there
Convenient location for overnight. Well thought out accommodation with lots of space. Very comfortable beds and very clean. Excellent overnight stop.
We stayed at this hotel also overnight at the same time last year on our way back from south of France holiday. We deliberately booked it again this year as it is such a lovely little hotel. The proprietors actually remembered us when we arrived, very friendly and helpful but some people may find it difficult due to no english spoken. Rooms are marvellous, breakfast is very good, fresh produce.
Well kept and modest hotel. I loved that each room had a table and chairs to sit outside. Pool area looked nice and there were many welcoming areas where we could enjoy a glass of wine. Service was professional and very friendly. could use some art on the walls of the room to warm it up.
Very nice hotel in wanderful sorraunding, Big room with comfort bad, very efficient and helpfull staff No complains
Very friendly staff, lovely country-style rooms
Quiet, friendly, lovely walks in vineyards, professional and relaxed host
The welcome and enthusisam shown by the owner/manager. Its location in the vinyard. The peaceful ambiance in the village. An excellent breakfast. Good value hotel worthy more than a two star establishment. The owner makes good wine!
Hospitality of the staff Toilets in the room smell.
the view over the cote d'or from our hotel room, the breakfast, the size of the rooms and the comfortable beds, the fact that you can rent bikes at the hotel (good ones; 18 euro per day).
good location for us, the host was most helpful.
The hotel was very pleasant with great character and the staff were very helpful and courteous.
The hotel is excellently located in the middle of the vineyards between Dijon and Beaune. The Hotel de Vougeot was spotlessly clean, the proprietor and his staff were exceptionally helpful, and breakfast was extremely boutiful.
Helpful and friendly staff, beautiful setting, free parking and wi-fi Internet (a plus as not advertised).
Close proximity to the town.Free parking. We would like to have been informed that the restaurant was going to be closed on Sunday.
Great location in a lovely town
excellent for overnight stop off point on the drive south and also walking distance of town centre.
Good parking, ideal location for a break on a long journey and easy access on foot to the town. Would prefer the toilet to be separate to the bathroom as at the nearby Etap.
We used the hotel as a stopover for travelling back to Calais from the south. The location was excellent. Just 3 minutes from the motorway. The hotel was clean and functional and the choice and quality at breakfast was excellent.
Clean, practical, ergonomic and comfortable. No fuss and excellent service.
Staff were helpfull and pleasant. Location excellent for traveling (just off autoroute) but still within ten minute walk of town centre. We ended up staying two nights. Restaurant was excellent and food was good. Menu choice could have been broader.
Comfortable, not far from motorway, good restaurant Nothing really to dislike
Friendly people and greate food and wines!! NO!
Good facilities for a pleasant overnight stop or touring the wine regions. Very easy to find from the motorway. Good restaurant with regional menu.
The staff were welcoming, friendly and very efficient. The room was fine and for an extra 6 euros, we parked our car in the secure, underground garage (otherwise, we realised we could have parked by the hotel in a lockable gated park) and we could have used the outside swimming pool or its tennis court. The breakfast buffet, for an extra 8 euros, was splendid with a vast variety of food on offer. It has a great location, being easy and quick to reach from the autoroute and yet in semi-rural countryside and very close to the town.We have already recommended the hotel to two friends! The plugs in the bath and the wash basin didn't work properly; they had to be manually lifted.
The receptionist was helpful Room smelled strongly of stale sweat, and there was damp in the bathroom. Hotel was more of a motel on the wrong side of the tracks....a long walk to town and a stinky bedroom to return to.
Good food, secure parking, quiet, good value Tennis court unuseable, pool table worn
The staff were pleasant The hotel had clearly seen better days. there was dangerous damage to the entrance steps which had been partitioned off by a flower tub. the gardens had not been maintained, and the hair dryer in my room was held together by duck tape. it is a shame because the location and the basic facilities were ok but are not being maintained adequately
We have stayed at the hotel as a Logis de France on several occasions since 1999 with our children and have always lked it. Glad to see it hasn't really changed much!
Lovely setting, tasteful and comfortable room, and excellent restaurant. I would stay here again and would recommend to others.
The room was charming and very clean. The setting is unbelievable - located in the tiny vineyard surrounded town of Vougeot.
Only the beauty of the location and the setting of the hotel itslef, which is lovely. Disappointing, heartless but beautiful place. Has much potential but appears to be essentially unloved by its owners -- lots of new but cheap things -- corner cutting -- also, no air conditioning so we roasted. Out of a 17 night stay in wine country this was out least favorite place to stay.
The location, tranquility and comfort. On previous visits to his hotel we have been very pleased with the food in the restaurant but on this occasion we were dissapointed with dinner.
Lovely setting in the village next to small river. Ideally placed for sampling the wines of the area. Staff very helpful. Lack of air conditioning in the hotel, there was a fan available but rooms very hot.
Very clean, very comfortable!
The relaxing atmosphere and the swimming pool was very welcome after a very long drive from England.
The location was excellent next to a river running beside the hotel with a mill wheel, very relaxing.
situation wiFi inutilisable
We were made to feel very welcome on arrival. The staff were extremely helpful about local restaurants. The hotel's atmosphere is very relaxing.
Very well located to get around Burgundy, surrounded by all the best Pinot Noir vineyards of France, breakfast included simple but nice.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a restful ambience which we loved so much. We'd love to stay here again.
The staff were very welcoming and very helpful in regards to local information. eg restaurants, tourist information The hotel did not have air-conditioning in our room, however, this did not impact on our stay.
The staff was extremly friendly and helpful
The staff spoke English and were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has lots of character. The mattress on the bed in the double room was very hard and uncomfortable. There was a slightly unpleasant odour in the twin room. The hotel is on a main road so it is advisable to ask for rooms on the garden side.
Lovely surroundings, perfectly clean and well maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
I don't usually write reviews. We travel extensively. This family owned and operated Inn was the highlight lodging of our 2 week journey through France. Very quaint beautiful village and inn, most complete spacious and comfortable rooms and shower, lovely breakfast area and the best breakfast we had! The price was too low, I insisted on paying more but she would not accept. I cannot over recommend Logis Saint Martin ! Fantastic stay. No negatives but is in the hills above Nuit Saint George and Beaune about 5 minutes by car. Not a problem.
