We loved the lake view from our room and the large comfortable rooms full of every amenity. The breakfast was by far the best I had in Europe during our stay. The walk around the lake is very pleasant. Restaurant was a bit pricey. A couple of the saunas were accessible only if you were without clothing. I'm not fond of public nudity much. The close proximity of the other resorts caught me off guard.
This hotel is in a 100 year old building that can only be described as elegant. The workmanship of the building itself is almost reason enough to stay. The setting, on top of a mountain with a breathtaking view is incredible. The staff, is educated and perceptive to the needs of the guest. The Wine Steward is a bit of con man.
Everything. The room, the amenities and the spa were outstanding. Nothing.
Excellent staff, perfect room, very good food. All was OK>
Kempinski High Tatras is a Luxury hotel with a perfect balance between high standards, excellent service and reasonable prices. We have really appreciated the discretion, availability and efficiency of all employees. Gardening with noisy material under our windows at relatively early hours could be avoided.
Lovely design combining old and new. Huge rooms, very comfortable bed. Luxurious spa. Excellent breakfast and perfect way of cleaning the room. Some staff far from Kempinski standard, particularly the spa manager. Concierge could not recommend a restaurant in nearby towns immediately. Body lotion + 3 other body products in our room and in the spa, as well as the marmelade at breakfast were past their expiry dates !!!
Great view of the lake from the spa, friendly service, nice spa Badly smelling corridor to the rooms (probably from the glue when renovated), cold floor in the bathroom (paving), wifi in the room wasn't strong enough, expensive spa treatments and restaurant but it corresponds to 5* hotel
The hotel staff and attention to detail is first class. The rooms are of the standard you would expect from a five star hotel. Spa area, swimming pool, again first class. Only downside, drinks a little on the expensive side. Cant fault the hotel or the staff, perfect.
staff involvement The noise of children and lack of education
The people, service, desing, and the place where it is, just fabulous... The food was average. I mean normal menu, the breakfast fantastic... but I told this to the reception and they told me, that they are currently waiting for new chef...
Spa area is just perfect! The staff attitude is very poor and not on the good level.
The very spacious apartment was well furnished and lit. We did not use the kitchen there; however, it should be noted that there is no dishwasher should you be inclined to stay here for a long period of time. The "wireless internet" does not exist. Only wired in the room - but free. One port only. So, my husband and I had to do tandem internet work. The hotel provides you with the very long wire that reaches to anywhere in the apt.
- The size and forniture of the appartment - Staff of hotel does not really speak English, and they were not helpful, all the wellness centre was not available. Extra 10€ for pets.
Very good apartments, including two rooms and kitchen. Good location. Breakfast was almost absent. Hotel's restaurant is owful, so you should take care of your meals yourself. Room cleaning was not good.
The hotel staff did not speek english
We found the location of the hotel very practical. The nearby train station is a benefit and not noisy at all. Rooms are modern, with a small kitchen. In-room cable LAN worked fine. We did not use any other of the hotel's facilities. The counter will provide you with enough hiking tips for 10 days. We found the breakfast buffet good value for money and enjoyed the local touch of the food.
The room, the fact that it had a dressing room for storing your luggage, the kitchen and the ambiance in the room; the personnel from the front desk -breakfast - when some dish was finished, they would not bring some more; one morning there was only very old bread, the juice was dilluted with water most of the days; if you needed a spoon you couldn't find any. One day there was no milk and there was this guy who asked for milk, and they filled his glass but still did not bring any in the bowl. Also, the staff was sometimes eating from the food for the guests...
It was close to the hiking trails and to the lake. The staff wasn't too helpful. We had two rooms and one of them was very cold. They offered firewood for 5 Euros instead of a different room although the hotel was nearly empty. (But finally - when we asked it - they gave us a new room, which was ok.)
Very nice apartment hotel with well equipped big rooms for affordable price. Excellent location for Tatra hiking. Very convenient parking.Good value for money.
Clean, comfortable and good breakfast
Very comfortable room and very good restaurant
friendly staff, good restaurant, free enter to wellness location to close the noisy street
Staff at the reception was very nice and helpful.Comfortable beds. Bathroom was not really clean, could find hair on the floor or mould in the corner. Stains on carpets and bedsheets.Had to change the room 4 times as the bathroom floor was cracked or could not open bathroom door or the room looked too dirty. The service in the hotel cafe was not really professional. I would not stay in the place again.
We enjoyed our stay in general. Everything was fine.
The receptionists were really nice and helpful, it was a pleasure to talk to them every time. The breakfast was really complete and the waiters really professional. The room was nice. The free access to the wellness center because we stayed 4 nights was a very good surprise. The menu in the restaurant was quite good and not too expensive and the garlic soup was amazing !!! The room was not perfectly clean : dust in the bathroom and hair on the bed sheets. But eh main problem was the fact that we could hear the neighbors and even more the music from the club on Friday night (disappointing for a such hotel).
We coud not say no one bad word about being in the hotel, it was excellent service.Thank them very much.
Breakferst, parking by hotel, bar staff
Close driving distance to Tatralandia, good parking facilities, modern, wireless internet in the whole hotel (I had some trouble connecting from a Linux machine, but it worked fine with Windows, so the problem might have been at my side). Quiet. Overpriced (for Slovakia) buffet breakfasts, lack of basic versions of some foodstuff (e.g., only sweet yoghurt, with no natural yoghurt, only flavoured tea, with no ordinary black or green tea). Verticals covering windows are fancy but not functional.
Near downtown and ulrtamodern design View blocked by barn
The rooms really are magnificent, they wipe the floor with many four star hotels we have stayed in. The breakfast was also very good. There was even a bicycle rack at the back of the hotel for us to put our rental bikes in. The lack of air conditioning could be a problem for some people in the middle of summer. We found the temperature in the rooms to be a bit on the high side in late august.
location, price, the place was beautiful
The hotel is excellent but for business trips and for those who did not find spare rooms in the mountains (if you need skiing). There is absolutely nothing to do in the town. Yes, Josef is a good host.
nice desgin, comfortable bed, towels weren't changed even though we put them on the floor
Parking only for visitors. Very communicative receptionist, speaking foreign languages. Clean rooms. Towels, soap, hair dryer in the bathroom ( it is only 2** but deserves at least 3***+)
Nice room, new and beautifully decorated in modern style. Excellent bed. Good breakfast. Frienly staff. Easily accessed parking in a closed yard. Stayed one night - wish we could stay longer Was a bit hard to find - the road sign for the last turn is missing .
it was cleaned every morning and home away from home
The hotel is reconstruction of the real castle. It was impressed and a special experience. Large room and interior decorated with antiques and portraits... Good for wandering out side nearby.
Castle experience was fun. Spacious rooms. Night reception staff was between weird and spooky. Facilities (e.g. soap, sugar, coffee) was of very low standard. We got a twin room instead of the double we booked. No elevator makes luggage handling complicated (in the dark). You get 3 keys - room, hallways, and main gate.
Architecture of hotel was interesting combining the old with the new.Breakfast was varied and of good quality. Dinner was equally good. Lack of consistancy over our 2 night stay. Eg.sheets on our bed were of an unpleasant brown felt-like nature( like a mattress protector.) whilst ,the next door empty room had white "normal" type. When mentioned at reception ,was told "I could take the sheet from next door and remake our bed ! They, then did say we could move into another room as the sheets were all different !. The bottled water in the room required a bottle opener , which was not provided. There an elaborate series of locked corridor doors for which we had a key, surely a fire risk , and reception was locked at 6 pm. Car parking gate security only sometimes worked, due to the exposed wiring.
The majestic old castle ruins incorporated into modern the added structure create an unusual atmosphere and setting. The hotel gives a picture of local nobility live style in the past. Worth to experience.
It was sort of fairytale. Apartments is just amazing. The dinner near fireplace... Want to get back in this place!! Poor breakfast.
unusual location hotel built into the side of an old castle...breakfast good... a bit "tired." low lighting...somewhat depressing....
tranquility, food, private swimming pool
All the charm of a real castle, plus modern conveniences. The owner is in residence and is extremely nice.
Service was not 5*. Breakfast was sometimes poor.
The castle experience Beds were incredibly uncomfortable, cheap soap, cheap shampoo and very very dark surroundings. Hotel signange was difficult to observe during night time. The surrounding area (immediate town) had no attractions to offer. A rather lengthy drive was required to enjoy attractions. If going there during summer, would recommend a hotel closer to the main attractions. The old castle experince is not what we came to expect.
Very nice furniture. Looks everything very good. very friendly staff. Pension with familiar character, very nice atmosphere. Very good food. Nice room. Internet for free Breakfast could be more choise. Wellness not for free (10 EUR per person)
Probably the best price/value ratio in the region: delicious restaurant at reasonable prices (applies to wine offer as well); relaxing and friendly atmosphere; clean and spacious rooms at hotel level; ideal for families with kids (huge playroom full of toys); comfortable wellness facilities. And during winter they offer own free bus shuttle to the Jasna slopes...
Quiet and peaceful place, very friendly and nice owners and helpfull staff, very good restaurant, good prices, quite good location.
As we drove to the hotel my family felt like coming home. It was quiet, clean, nicely appointed and well done. Staff was helpful and most friendly.
Great hospitality, home atmosphere, quiet surroundings yet a bit far from 'civilization', new and clean rooms - fully and pleasantly recommend Penzion Drak!
Loved the family atmosphere and excellent food!
Warm staff and penzion, clean, nice and an excellent breakfast. None
personal is very loyalli and sympathy, very peace of mind
Very easy to find, reception staff very helpful speaking good English, room clean and comfortable, restaurant staff also very helpful speaking good English, menu written in English, food very good as was cooked breakfast. Lack of dressing table and mirror for ladies to do make up and hair. Also british tourists seem to expect tea and coffee making facilities in their rooms (Kettle, tea/coffee bags and cups).
very friendly staff, nice rooms, good cooking, nice nature. nothing
Very expensive but not so good for such a high price. Breakfast is good. It s too far from main skiing.
quite place surround by nature and mountains . close to all the Aqua centers not enough local information
Friendly staff, great food and the log cabins with real fires were lovely. There were not many British people there, which is not necessarily a bad thing but the other guests are not really a very friendly bunch of people. This is not the hotels fault, all their staff were lovely.
Nice chalets, with good comfort. Good restaurant.
