Beautiful location and great communication prior to my stay. On arrival in Wadi a staff member was waiting to collect me as promised. I stayed two nights and took two four-hour tours with them, both of which were amazing and highly recommended. Food was great (dinner is a surcharge) and always had vegan options. I stayed in January when the nights were cold. Fortunately there was only two of us in the dorm room so there were plenty of extra blankets which made it comfortable sleeping. I would return here in a heartbeat
If you want to go off walking on your own then inform staff and you will have to sign a waiver with the local police. I believe this should be explained to every guest on arrival to avoid the chaos that ensued when we went off walking on our own. Our catalyst for going for a walk was the burning of plastic in the main tent
This place is breathtaking! I went there in December and was worried about getting cold at night. It was cold outside but I never felt cold at night, the fireplace kept us all warm, and during the night the blankets were great! (I was even a little warm). The room is very nice, they actually do have solar powered lights and plugs (no phone service). The location is outstanding. We did a half day jeep tour since we had to leave around mid-day for Petra, it was perfect and I recommend doing at least one of the activities offered by the camp in order to get to see the beauty of the desert. Food is amazing and there is plenty for seconds! Probably the best meal we had in the entire trip. I recommend taking shoes that are easy to take on/off since you need to take your shoes off to enter any of the tents to avoid sand from coming in (also to quickly shake the sand off when walking around).
Arabian Nights was so much fun and I wish we'd stayed longer. Not only is the location gorgeous beyond belief (seriously, the night stars!), it's a great window into another way of living. We were picked at the Wadi Rum Rest House and driven to the owner's home for a cup of tea and to wait for another passenger. Then we loaded into a truck, stopped for snacks, and headed out into the desert. Get ready for a ride that will make your cheeks hurt from smiling. The camp itself is smaller than some others (which we loved) and just the right distance from town. The tents are basic, clean, and comfortable. We were supplied with heavy blankets and were toasty warm on a cold December night. The bathroom is clean and has showers (we didn't use them because of the cold). The main tent where everyone hangs out has a fire area and heaters. It's also stocked with boardgames and plenty of couches and floor cushions. The food was simple, delicious, and plentiful. We loved meeting other travelers and hanging with the staff. Mamoo taught us how to play "Bedouin UNO" and it was ridiculously fun- make sure you ask about it! This stay was a highlight of our trip in Jordan and is something not to be missed!
This camp was really excellent. Having changed camps in the two nights this was much better. The feeling of cold in the tent and the dinner area was much better (maybe due to its location?) The food cooking experience was interesting. The food very very nice with good variety. The dinner tent is heated with fire and people enjoy to sit there. There are a lot of games for the kids. It is highly recommended.
Everything!! These guys are just the best! Make you feel like home, a truly genuine and fun experience!!!
