7.5 Good
Pros: Great castle and amazing breakfast with homemade jams. Very quiet in its secluded location.
Cons: Whilst we knew there was no food on a Monday, no suggestions were provided for nearby. Many restaurants were closed in August.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quiet location...helpful staff. Would stay here again. My room was large for a single and bathroom was large, bed was comfortable. They helped me with my luggage. The attitude of the staff was gracious. Such beautiful views from the room!! After seeing some of the other castle hotels in the area I was glad I choose this place. Remote yet minutes away from attractions.
Cons: Lovely room... The breakfast was good but for the price could have used more protein like eggs. Was mostly bread, a bit of cold meat and cheese and yogurt. Would have liked more of a sustaining breakfast. Was challenging getting big suitcase onto facility on pea gravel. Would have liked to hear more about the history of the place. A common room would have been a nice added touch and some brochures on local attractions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the room
10.0 Excellent

Cons: nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: The view over the Neckar valley. Fairly good breakfast. Nice atmosphere.
Cons: Unfortunately we didn’t read the small line at the end of the confirmation; kitchen closed. If the hotel is open, so should also the restaurant be.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice and the view over the river Neckar was great. The staff was very helpful due to the fact that the their restaurant was closed on Monday they advised a very good alternative. The breakfast was very good. All with all a place to go back for an other stay and not on a Monday.
Cons: All was fine.

7.9 Good
Pros: Location at forest‘s edge, ideal for hikers, modern, clean with lots of amenities, neat property with porches and gardens; excellent breakfast buffet, good value for your money.
Cons: Extremely slow service in restaurant, had to wait over 20 minutes for waiter to appear, wasn’t asked how meal was and if I wanted anything else, so I had my second beer as dessert... Noisy group in the evening, that stopped only at 11pm, after that more noise, sounded like moving furniture until after midnight - no good rest for the hiker; seems to be more a hotel for groups of business people than nature lovers, too bad!

7.0 Good
Pros: Whilst a nice hotel, the fish theme which extended to carpets, towels and table linen was a bit much... There has been considerable investment in the facilities and the room was extremely comfortable especially the beds which we appreciated very much being on a cycling tour, but the restaurant was very old school and stuffy when it didn't need to be and the breakfast was not value for money. A lovely hotel which if recognising that it needs to move with the times would be excellent.
Cons: As above comments
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Finally a hotel with proper size glasses for your juice at breakfast. Very friendly personnel at check out! Lovely and athmospheric breakfast area. A good sizef modern and clean bathroom. Wonderfully cosy armchair in the living room corner.
Cons: Too soft pillows with few filling material. Please place a 2nd, harder one into the rooms, your guests will like it I think. We missed a small water boiler in the room to make a coffee, tea ourselves.
5.0 Okay
Cons: We stayed in room 212 and the 2nd night they forgot to turn-off the airsystem for the kitchen which runs thru room 211. This system caused a lot of vibration and we couldn't really sleep. We left the hotel immediately and didn't have to pay for the last night except for the booking.com fee (poor customer orientation). I donot understand why such a room is used for guest because the vibration is there when the kitchen airsystem is turned on; are these rooms only used for booking.com?
7.9 Good
Pros: the location and the charm and the excellent service
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff helped me beyond all my expectations. I had a road accident before I arrived. They helped me get myself back to Munich by arranging transportation. Munich is NOT close. I was not good physically, having broken bones. I will always be grateful to the Hotel Karpfen. And all those fish decorations. I wish I had been able to enjoy it more.
7.1 Good
Pros: Well located in the center of Eberbach. Food is good., you can enjoy it without problem.
Cons: A little bit old fashioned. Room needs to be refreshed with air conditioning.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Spacious and clean room, friendly staff: very nice breakfast buffet:
Cons: Cobblestone patio area with outdoor tables at back of hotel could use some maintenance and flowers to be more appealing for guests:

Pros: It was fun to stay in a place that was so old! Breakfast was great. The beds were comfortable. the location was in the pedestrian zone, so lots of places near by to go and explore.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The meal at the restaurant was excellent. The place had great character.
Cons: Room was small as was the bathroom. Shower and bath so small they were almost unusable. Not much hot water
7.5 Good
Pros: An historic building full of character, situated in a central but quiet part of town. The bathroom and shower in my room were not huge, but not as bad as other reviewers found.
Cons: Although I had reserved a room well in advance, my arrival seemed to take the hotel by surprise. I arrived just before 6 o'clock in the evening on a Wednesday, which is the hotel's Ruhetag (rest day). The front door was locked, and there was no reply when I rang the bell. I phoned the hotel's number, but the call went to voicemail. As I was pondering my next move a young helper emerged from inside, let me in and summoned assistance. All this took quite a while to resolve. My advice to anyone arriving on a Wednesday would be to make sure the hotel knows that you are coming, and at what time you are likely to arrive.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location , clean rooms and comfortable beds
Cons: The girl at night when we checked in was not very helpful
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent capuccino at breakfast, which had a nice wide range of options.
Cons: Staff was not present during the day when we needed them.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere in this historic building was great. Dinner was delicious!
Cons: Internet only worked in public area, not in room. Parking was a challenge as we needed to find street parking and feed a neter.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This quaint, historic hotel is delightful. My room was small but very clean and comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There was limited headroom in the shower but it was a minor problem. Great location and delicious breakfast for a small extra fee. Highly recommended if you like olde world charm.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location across from train station. Lovely breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Well established hotel with a traditional feel, yet updated for convenience and comfort. Pleasant outdoor seating and nice garden.
Cons: Unfortunately, the restaurant and bar are no longer open. On previous stays we enjoyed the food and jovial atmosphere. The management does provide extensive information about local restaurants and the distance of each one from the hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Rooms was OK for one night, breakfast was very good, staff friendly and helpful
Cons: mattress was very soft
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Close to station and facility to collect key from the box, there is no reception till 21h00 ,
Cons: Being woken up before 9am by the cleaner lady asking when I am leaving
7.1 Good
Pros: The staf
Cons: In the room was a bed smell.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Clean at all, parking space available
Cons: Nothing special old hotel with old furniture
6.0 Good
Pros: The room was comfortable, very clean with great bathroom and lovely view. Breakfast was phenomenal, the best I have seen anywhere. It was a great way to wrap up our stay.
Cons: We chose to stay in Mosbach because of the old town. We didn't see it because we were literally on the other side of the tracks and there is no easy or convenient way to walk to the old town. We were on the 2nd floor so 2 flights of steps with our bags but we did have a private bath. Unfortunately other guests returned to the hotel after midnight and were less than quiet. They were in their room with the door open! However not much hotel can do about that I guess.
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Hotel Schwanen in Mosbach, you'll be within the vicinity of Deutsche Greifenwarte. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location was amazing as the town is gorgeous.
Cons: Being an American, it is obvious since my booking shows where I am from. I show up, have to call to get in, they speak no English, which is fine I don't speak German, but have some translated details laid out as the details are very easy for both parties. Parking is free from 6pm until 8am. I go to parking lot at 7:45am but all lots require Euro coins. If the owner of the bed and breakfast would have said, it was a coin operated parking system only, then I would have know. Also, have the details about the price for parking because at 8am, there is not a single place open to break a bill into a coin. Yes, Europe uses 1 and 2 euro coins like they are candy...Stupid, but I guess it works. Americans look at change as a bottle filler. LOL. There was no AC in the unit and they had our windows open, so fly's and mosquitos were in the room. We had to close the windows, make the room even worse temp wise, kill the bugs, then take a few Benadryl's to fall asleep as the room was so hot. A room so hot, you can't even be intimate! Gross. Shampoo was in packets like ketchup. Insane. And the breakfast, well, cereal without milk is just a yogurt topping in my book. She has an amazing place but needs a little help with customer service, catering to travelers, and being a true bed & breakfast..... The damn church bell rings every 15 mins until 11pm and starts again at 6am. You won't be sleeping in at this place or going to bed early. (before 10pm)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is right in the middle of town at the market square, across from City Hall. The market square is surrounded by an historic church and old historic buildings, it could not be better. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of food and the coffee was excellent. At noon there was a concert of sixty (60) Alphorns playing at the market square and we were able to leave our bags at the Gasthaus to take our time and enjoy the beautiful sounds of these Alphorns even though it was past our check-out time.
Cons: Though the furniture are new, the thick mattress was too soft for my back problem and I was not able to sleep on the bed despite having had boards put under it. I did sleep on the mattress topper on the floor and when I was asked the next morning and told the owner that I slept on the floor, I was told that they will get two hard mattresses to have them for people with back problems. So, I will not hesitate and happily book with them again.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location in the old town. Breakfast.
Cons: The bed was very soft and spongy. Even though non smoking, there is an old stale smell of smoke. Slightly overpriced in my opinion.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a very quirky property! And full of character,we were on the second floor with stairs which were very old, amazing building and very quiet too.
Cons: Nothing

5.4 Okay
Cons: There was no breakfast. The lady told me in the evening that I should have ordered the breakfast before and that nobody wonted it at 7 AM. There was writen breakfast from 7 AM. The bafroom with toilet was not separated with a door from the room.
