Pros: Efficient and relaxed
Cons: Two of the staff fondled dogs while working at the bar
Pros: Good position, large bedroom, very attentive staff, great breakfast
Cons: Dinner was disappointing. Whitebait over battered, meat pie with one piece of meat, lots of carrots and excellent pastry. Had gammon, egg, good chips and enough peas for four people! Could do with less quantity and more quality!
Pros: Breakfast was ok
Cons: The food. The décor was very dated and only a large chest of drawers in the room, no mirror or dressing table for my wife's use, no wardrobe, certainly could not be called comfortable. No usable shower in bathroom
Pros: The central location and friendly staff.
Cons: Very hot in the room overnight (but there was a heatwave).
Pros: Fantastic food and lovely staff.
Pros: Lovely breakfasts and big selection from fruit through to all the ingredients you might want for a full English. Evening food was excellent too and the waiting staff were really helpful about explaining what was on offer. Our twin room was light and airy and well-equipped with tea, coffee, water. Loved the comfy beds and lots of pillows. The shower was great and it got lots of use as it was the heatwave during our time there! All the staff were really welcoming and friendly.
Cons: Nothing negative at all. We had a great stay in all respects.
Pros: The breakfast was lovely.
Cons: There was no hair dryer in the room and no wardrobe.
Pros: Lovely hotel with quirky features. Room very comfortable, spacious. Breakfast as expected.
Cons: Can't think of any improvements
Pros: The staff were really friendly and our stay was very accommodating, a really lovely couple of days. I would recommend The Black Lion to anyone looking in this area, the food was lovely too.
