This farm is located in the beautiful village Wapse in Drenthe. The house is located in a part of the typical Drenthe farm. Vacationers have the availability of a garden with furniture and playground. The garden is fenced off, small children as well as pets can walk around safely. In the area of the holiday home you can find wonderful hiking and biking trails, for example in the nature of the Drents-Friesewold. In Appelscha you can find a walking trail where you can walk on your barefoot. This environment is a wonderful area for walking, cycling, riding and driving. In the Drenthe-Friesewold you can make wagon rides with horses. Nice to visit are places like Appelscha, Assen, Westerbork or the famous Giethoorn. Visit the National Braid Museum in Noordwolde or the Fake Art Museum in Vledder. For children, a visit to indoor playgroud Oranje is a nice experience. Friesland is a short distance and Groningen is easily accessible. A beautiful place in a beautiful holiday home. In consultation there are more than 3 pets allowed. Pros: Great breakfast, nice neighborhood location.
Cons: The way to the parking space is too narrow. We lived in the attic room with personal bathroom and restroom in the hallway. But there’s one time we didn’t lock the door, and other people who lived in the same floor just opened and used our bathroom and restroom. (They said theirs are broken and just directly using ours without the permission) It caused big problems for us :(
Pros: The area surrounding the hotel was very nice , the breakfast was good , the toys were so nice and the playing yard was so great and the kids were so happy . The treatment was nice and the manager was very friendly.
Cons: The bathroom was not inside the room ,The ventilation was not good in the first floor where we stayed .
Pros: Tutto..very very nice location
Pros: Perfect! Comfortable and quiet place! Breakfast was also perfect!
Pros: Perfect for family with small children very good breakfast
Cons: Small room - ok for a weekend stay but not longer. Any wardrobe.
Pros: Very hospitable and helpful host. Clean and tidy room. Nice breakfast. Super price/quality ratio.
Cons: You could hear people snoring next room
Pros: The building has a great architecture in a great natural environment
Cons: There where no towels in the room.
Pros: Beautiful building in a really nice setting.
Cons: I found my pillow a bit too big, but that is just personal preference.

Pros: VERY NICE PLACE AND GOOD LOCATION FOR GOING TO ASSEN GP. EASY TO FIND, AND THE COMMUNICATION WAS PERFECT. WE FELT LIKE AT HOME!
Pros: Very nice place,Very clean and the hosts were unbelievably helpful.
Pros: Perfect location, nicely kept and comfortable. Alice friendly and helpful.
Pros: Typical Drenthe style beds...platform closet like spaces with closed doors...great for kids. Also, Mini golf, boules court & games. Quiet setting. Parking decent. Easy to find & easy to venture to other places of interest in the area. Town of Dwingeloo within a short bike ride away. Plenty of restaurants in town center.
Cons: Even though we appreciated the authentic local bed style, the platform beds were a bit uncomfortable (hard-mattress on a wood board). They are great for kids but maybe not necessarily adults as one has to climb over the other for their midnight trip to the loo. Quiet peaceful farm setting-besides the loud party that took place on the next farm over @1:30! The host thought of almost everything. We were in an apartment accommodation so we had all sorts of "in room amenities". Unfortunately, although there was a refrigerator, water kettle, coffee maker & even some "koffie melk" creamers & a handful of sugar packets, there was no loose coffee or tea nor a little container of milk. We hadn't brought any ourselves as most places we stay at, even hotels, have at least those basics available to their guests. I suppose we could have asked but didn't. We also felt the property grounds could have been upgraded a bit more. Nice to have a boules court & a mini golf area behind the car park but they both looked as if they hadn't been used in years-rusty & covered in weeds. Bit of a shame as that was a selling feature for us, a family with kids. The Ikea furniture was also a bit of a negative. We understand the practicality of cheap furniture but it does detract from the visual authenticity of the accommodation. Breakfast was decent-a nice assortment of meats, cheeses, breads, fruit, yoghurt & cereals however labels would have been helpful & the bacon was cold on the second day.

Pros: It was a nice and clean hotel. The parking for the car was perfect. We wend for cycles riding that was a location not so far aways from the shops. And little thing, on the evening it was very calm.
Cons: Notthing to do at the evening, the bar was close at 21U. That is to soon for us.
Pros: I was there to run a marathon and the hotel prepared special meals for me the night before and morning of the marathon. On arriving back afterwards, they had (without being asked) prepared a meal for me - at 11pm at night. That is exceptional thoughtfulness.
Pros: Location, location! Bordering on meadows and woods and an unpaved country lane, this hotel provides peace and quiet in abundance. Friendly staff, very nice rooms and with nature within a leg’s length, this is a place I’d prefer to keep a secret :o)

Pros: Very quiet neighborhood, extremely nice staff, very delicious food, comfortable rooms, stunning interior Overall it was much better than we expected.

Pros: I really like the place there it is a quite , beautiful and charming .. i will be back there whenever i have the chance
Pros: The restaurant is very good where you can find the regular continental breakfast.
Cons: They close a bit early. If they extend it to 11:00 AM, it would be much better.
Pros: The location and the staff and the restaurant area.
Cons: The pictures are a misrepresentation of this hotel, the restaurant area is remodeled and modern so your would think so are the rooms, but the rooms are old. Old carpet, old TV, old bathroom. The breakfast was below average European standard considering the hotel is located in the country side so maybe more variety of Dutch cheese, bread, homemade jam, etc
Pros: Location, Quite area, restaurant (breakfast) and bowling
Cons: Old TVs screen
Pros: Breakfast very good.
Cons: Run-down furniture in the room, bright balcony-lamp cannot be switched-off. Very noisy handling in the breakfast room: vacuum-cleaning, transport boxes with furniture passing.

Pros: Friendly and professional staff. Good food at the restaurant.
Cons: The mattress on the bed was very thin, pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. The towels provided were extremely thin and small. There is no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. No air con in the room but if you want to open the windows you have to keep the curtains open all night to get any fresh air in the room.
Pros: Take your bicycle. Stay a few days and explore the area. Perfect.
Pros: Relaxed Nice service good breakgast
Cons: a little bit outdated
Pros: Location nice in very quiet small village (if you like that)
Cons: We arrived back in the hotel on a Friday evening before midnight and the barman said the bar is closed. Could take beers to our rooms but he told us we had to be quiet. Not very customer friendly and this gave us a bit of a bad taste
Pros: Good place. Good room. Good brakefast.
Cons: Afridge in the room would be nice.
Pros: Very friendly stuff. We arrived late when the kitchen was already closed for dinner and they kindly offered to prepare us something despite. Very big spacious rooms
Cons: Old windows, therefore a lot of noise from the street is heard.
Pros: good service friendly people
Cons: smell from the bathroom in room 33. I was told it was due to the bath not being used. I used the bath. THE DRAINS NEEDS ATTENTION The safe did not work?? they did try and fix it
Pros: Very friendly staff..value for money. Breakfast was not included, but very cheap only euro 7.50 per person. The breakfast was excellent!!
Pros: Stylish hotel Confortable bed Friendly staff

This intimate guest house is surrounded by a beautiful countryside and situated in the ancient village of Uffelte. It includes stables, a cafe and a restaurant which serves Dutch meals. Meppel is a 15-minute drive away. The Herberg de Roskam is the ideal base for a fun break in the scenic province of Drenthe and offers simple, elegant guest rooms. The Drents-Friese Wold and Weerribben-Wieden nature areas are less than 20 minutes away by car. Groningen, featuring the famous Martini Church, is just over 55 minutes' drive from de Roskam. Assen is 40 minutes' drive away. Guests can sit out on the terrace and enjoy the rural atmosphere, surrounded by Saxon farms. A free internet connection is available in the lobby.
Pros: Good value for money. Standard but clean and modern room. Coffee/thee at the room.
Pros: Only the location. It's near our friends house.
Cons: I booked an extra comfort room for my family as we like space and bath. The pictures from the hotel looked simple but all the reviews were very positive so I was looking forward to stay there. The first night, we invited some friends to have dinner. It was a disaster. We got only 1 little portion as a side dish which was not enough for one person nor for all of us. The price is quite high in comparison of the amount the food that you get. The waitress were nice but not the owner of the Hotel (if you call a hotel). They treat their staff without any respect. The room was very dirty, full of spiders, broken and loose drawers which a child can be hurt, broken bath with stain on it (cigarrets burn, red paint), leaking shower and not strong water coming from the shower. The worse to come... NO INTERNET and dirty sink. NO hairdryer. There's a place to make your own coffee or tea with 2 cups but NO spoon. The door of the room has a big opening underneath which it's very noisy if other guests are walking or taking around. The breakfast was included, but very simple and limited breakfast is served. Nothing special. I would NOT recommend this place to stay. It's a disgrace to say that this is a Hotel with 2 stars. NO other country would consider this place as a Hotel of 2 stars.
Pros: Location, friendly staff
Cons: We had several problems with the room and the attitude towards us by the staff was not welcoming at all. 1. Thin walls which meant we could hear people next to our room until late at night. 2. Very weak water pressure which literally meant I had trouble with having a decent shower. 3. Smelly towels – I advise you bring your own. We could’ve survived those issues but the negative attitude was beyond my comprehension. When I booked the room several months beforehand, I had to insert my credit card information which is a standard procedure. Upon arrival we were shown to our room and nothing was mentioned about the payment. I didn’t ask either because I assumed the money would be automatically taken from my credit card – it would make sense because why else do they ask for my credit card information. After our stay, I went to return the key and bid them a polite farewell and again, nothing mentioned about the payment. We went to our car to plan our next destination when about three minutes later a staff member approched our car and asked if we had payed. I was somewhat confused and told I paid with the credit card. I was then told that they do not accept credit card, only cash and a debit card and above all the guy snorted at us sarcastically which was very unpleasant. So, being confused and embarassed, I told the staff I would pay right away. I went to pay but it came out that the terminal would not accept my card because it was a MasterCard ... thank the gods we carried cash!!! There was no information on the booking here was no information on the booking confirmation about the payment (that they only accepted cash and debit card which isn’t a MasterCard). I was told that not ever has anyone had a problem with that and we were the first ones. So basically, they made us feel like common criminals for not paying and stupid at that. Drove off with a very bad feeling.
Pros: Clean rooms, natural environment around the house
Cons: Poor wifi signal
Pros: Breakfast was great.
Pros: Very friendly stuff.
Cons: Breakfast was really poor. Room was not cleaned during our stay. The bed/mattress was uncomfortable. They’re not accepting Visa card.
Pros: Nice quiet location with easy access to the Assen race circuit. Comfortable and clean with a decent restaurant

Pros: Great location next to ASTRON with easy checkin
Pros: Great location and friendly staff.
Pros: Good restaurant, free parking, WIFI works, bathroom small but clean.
Cons: Room is small and the table + 2 armchairs really do not fit. Also quite warm in the hot days of summer.
Pros: The breakfast was OK, and the location is very nice.
Cons: The hotel bathroom and toilet was not clean and mildew.
Cons: Pool and sauna closed when we arrived :(
Pros: Nice quiet location good size too,.
Cons: Seemed a little run down, room was cold and took ages to heat up. Not quite what we expected.
Pros: Breakfast and the receptionists were the only good thing I can say about this place ..
Cons: Very bad mannered and rude waitresses very long time to firstly order and even longer to receive your meal which was to be honest far from tasty or imaginative... Black Mold in the bathrooms and peeling wallpaper in the rooms the whole place is generally in dilapidated state .. certainly not 4 star by any means .. think twice before you book here ..
Pros: The Hotel was in a nice quiet location. We used it as a base for the Assen TT Moto GP weekend. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food for breakfast was fine and the we had an evening meal each night in the restaurant which was good value for money.
Cons: We had a room on the second floor which almost seemed like an after thought/loft conversion. The size wasn't bad and for half the price would have been really good value for money but for 150 euros a night B & B seemed poor value, I guess prices spiked for the Assen TT weekend.
Pros: Rooms, Pool, Restaurant (albeit a little limited) location for running through the National Park, Staff, Parking.
Cons: Nothing to not like.
Pros: We have stayed here several times before whilst visiting MotoGP at Assen. The location is perfect, only 30 mins from the circuit yet in beautiful and peaceful countryside. The rooms are large and comfortable although very warm during our stay. We enjoyed using the swimming pool which was very welcome after a hot day at the track as was the shady outdoor bar area. We also made us of bicycles to hire. Evening meals in the restaurant were excellent as was breakfast with a wide range of fresh food.
Cons: No opening windows other than the patio doors. That’s fine during the day but would have welcomed some air in on the very warm nights of our stay too.
Pros: Good breakfast selection
Pros: We enjoyed the country admosphere, very nice
Pros: in the morning we arrived in a well served dining room , alot of food in all kinds off tastes, worth wile if u look at the total prise.there is not much noise, because all the rooms are spread over the area , all on one floor
Cons: we could not enter our room after hanging at the bar in the hotel , the badge did not work , after looking for hotel personel -which we did not find - we slept in the same room of our friends , 2 bedroom with 4 :(., next morning we told it , but did get poor respons . Bur after all , it was a nice time in that room ---laugh---
Pros: The room itself was fairly large and very clean with a lovely bathroom, however the furniture was rather old and worn. The rooms are in a seperate annex and the corridors had a slightly musty un-aired smell to them. The hotel advertises that it has a swimming pool, however when you arrive you discover that it is only open in the morning and is closed in the afternoon from 4.00 till 7.00pm for what appears to be the local swimming lesson classes, as the restaurant closes at 9.00pm it means you don't really get much chance to use the pool at all during the week.
Pros: The staff were very warm and welcoming and the breakfast was excellent.
Pros: The location was picturesque.
Cons: The hotel and decor was dated.
Pros: good atmosphere
Cons: No wireless internet
Pros: The people at the front desk were very nice and the breakfast buffet was excellent and delicious.
Cons: We came in late at night (10.15 p.m.) and would have loved to make a cup of tea in the room. A coffee maker would have been nice, or an electric water boiler in our case.
Pros: excellant rural position , good restaurant
