Everything, great location, friendly staff, very clean, great service! Nada
we found the River Inn to be perfect for our needs. We have 3 young children and the room was suitable (+ cot) for us all. A metro station is only a couple of blocks away which made travel to the centre of D.C very easy. Would certainly recommend this hotel to others.
The hotel suite was very nice, clean and comfortable. The location was amazing, very quaint and charming neighbourhood only 5 min away from the subway, which made travelling to all parts of the city easy. The staff were very friendly but we noticed that the toiletries and towels were not replenished regularly during our stay, which was disappointing as it was not a cheap hotel. It was nice to have a kitchenette but the fridge was old and very loud, as was the AC unit, which was also very loud.
An amazing location in DC very close to metro and G'town. A very modern hotel with an attractive lobby and quaint suites. While I did not have an opportunity to enjoy most of the services during my short stay, I trust they are well-maintained an equal to other parts of the hotel. I will definitely return.
Location and excellent value for money. Was unable to order room service one because they were too busy and one of the restaurant staff was very rude.
Location The bed was too soft.
The hotel was two blocks to the Metro and two blocks to Trader Joe's for breakfast and snack supplies. The room was spacious and comfortable, and we will plan to visit again. Garbage truck at the back of hotel in the morning. Oh well.
I absolutely love this hotel. The bed was so comfortable. The room was clean and nice The distance to the Metro was so convenient. The kitchen was so useful. We grabbed groceries at Trader Joe's up the block for breakfast every day. Parking. We ended up finding a parking garage up the block for $16 a day which was great.
Convenience to metro, location to Georgetown( walking distance), daily cleaning service, staff helpfulness
At midnight before the morning I was flying to DC I received an odd (non-customer-facing) zendesk email informing me that River Inn had overbooked and would not honor my reservation. We called (800.468.3578) and were told that I would be re-booked at 1 of 2 nearby hotels—and I would be informed which by email before 5:30 AM. No email arrived. I called the number again at 8:30 AM (as I boarded the plane and after sitting on hold was eventually assigned to Washington Circle. Customer service was very helpful but looking back on it, the system wasn't able to make their own promised deadlines, causing unnecessary anxiety. When I arrived at the new hotel, there was more trouble: the room they had booked was only available for one night and then I would have to move so they downgraded me to a room so I could stay for the duration. Oy vey!
the room was very clean and we liked the location. The room was set up perfectly,it served all our needs. I don't want to sound cheap but the parking is expensive. If I plan to stay for a week that will add up to a costly expense.
Nothing The neighborhood was so bad that we did not check in.There was no parking and the surroundings did not look safe. I would not walk from street parking to the hotel with my wife and two teenage girls. The hotel is attached to a wheel shop. We went to Alexandria, Va and stayed at a Residence Inn by Marriotte instead. The website for this hotel is very misleading.
Friendly staff. Rooms are clean When you travel with kids, microwave is always useful. Rooms have a fridge, but not a microwave...
The staff was top notch. Breakfast was great every morning. Bar food was also good. Bed was a little uncomfortable. Room was too warm AC was turned off because it was December I assumed. But our room stayed at 78 degrees. Much to hot for good sleeping.
Just a train ride away on the redline.
Thanks to the staff for providing bleach-free linens for our room. Breakfast was delicious, but the serving setup could be improved. One morning there was over 20 people in line the entire time I was in the area.
Clean. Great location for us. My teenagers really liked it more than other hotels during our vacation. Pool closed too early
We walked everywhere. Its only a 20 minute walk to the senate building. There are also fast causal restaurants a block away or the metro if you need it. The $50 (taxes included) a night for parking is ridiculous. I know other hotels nearby are similar but its not downtown DC and the lot they use is right next to the hotel. Also the breakfast was like any other bad hotel breakfast (don't believe the other reviews).
Good value hotel, got to stay for 5 nights. The rooms are spacious enough and the bed was VERY confortable. The offer noise machines and claim Dc is very noisy, it was not needed at all. The complimentaly buffet breakfast was barely ok and expect queues if you go after 8:30. The pool is very small, just good enough for a spash and expect it to be full of people.
The staff when I spoke with them was helpful and professional. Overall cleanliness of the hotel was very good. The hotel is relatively new, but kind of on the edge of a good area. Breakfast was good each morning that I was there. Called the hotel several times during my travel to the location due to airline issues. Phone rang as many as 50 times with no one picking up. Same thing happened when I called the front desk from my room. Not sure what the issue was since the staff was always courteous and helpful when I interacted with them in person. Room was only cleaned 2 out of the 4 days that I was there even though I was out of the room from either mid-morning until late night or early morning until dinner each day. Not in the hotel's control, but construction site across the street is very loud. Sleeping in on a weekday not really an option.
The breakfast was the best I've ever had. The staff was professional and friendly. The metro was in walking distance. The neighborhood was a little sketchy. Don't be on the streets after dark.
I really liked the modern furniture. the TV with cable. The bed was soft and comfy. My only complaint was the view I had. I had an ugly view of an empty lot.
1. Lovely Valet service employees. Very kind young men. I was very impressed with them. 2. The room was nice and it was quiet as requested far from elevator, etc. Breakfast had a nice assortment of food & drinks. 3. Nice employees cleaning the breakfast area, and helpful with explaining elevator & need to use room key. 4. Front desk employees are nice too. 1. Parking for $35 / night is a bit excessive if one is there to support the opening of a chapel in the Basilica: National Shrine of Immaculate Conception. It would have been nice to be informed about this when booking the room. I even called the Hotel to ensure the room would be held for me for a late arrival. I would think that if somebody is arriving late, it would be nice to know in advance of the parking fee of $35. I was very fortunate that a spot opened up on the street. It would be nice to know that street parking is an option when booking as in Michigan I'm not used to a $35 parking fee or street parking for a hotel. 2. Ceramic coffee mugs would be a nice touch. I don't care to drink out of plastic/Styrofoam disposable cups (hence not green rating). 3. I was surprised the Hyatt didn't have a plastic hair brush at the front desk when asked (comb worked).
The hotel, was within walking distance of many things. Our room was very dark due to the fact it was facing other buildings and was over the airconditioners outside.
Hotel staff were most obliging. The food was good. The location is excellent just across the road from the subway station. Small shop in lobby was great for small forgotten items or a quick snack to take to your room.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean. Our shower head did not want to stay put. We booked online and I guess when doing so they like to give you the handicap accessible room. Parking was expensive! Breakfast was $60 for two people that will get you eggs and bacon.
Our hotel was in walking distance to almost everything that we wanted to see - all the major landmarks as well as museums. It is very close to two subway (metro) stations and only a short ride way from Union Station where we took the bus to NYC. We enjoyed the coffee maker in our room and refrigerator to keep our snacks. We appreciated free coffee stand in the lobby. it's more of a wish - wish you guys had free breakfast. Most hotels do nowadays.
Staff very friendly. Rooms were clean including the bathroom. The location is perfect if you want to walk around. We had an awesome experience.
Hotel is walking distance to most of the things you want to see in DC; White House, Washington Monument, Smithsonian Museums. If you stay in a room facing 14th street you *will* hear street noise. We were on the 12th floor and you may as well be on the first floor because the height doesn't help with the noise at all. After a long day of walking you probably want a good night's sleep, that's probably not going to happen. Street traffic is loud and people tend to yell outside.
The location was excellent, the staff were solicitous and friendly, our room was spacious and well appointed - my girlfriend particularly recommends the big comfy armchair - the food was very good and it won't break the bank. Unless your bank is quite delicate and prone to breakage. No draft lager.
The bathroom was throughly cleaned and the bed was very comfortable. Room were very compact however, I realize it was
Clean and convenient to downtown DC.
Staff was helpful and friendly. Wait staff at restaurant in lobby was excellent. Went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Fair prices on the food. Blanket for fireworks was a nice unexpected treat. Quick walk to two different metro stations and 20 min walk to the mall. Blocks to restaurants and the cvs if you need something. It was hot. Not sure the hotel can control the weather.
Very convenient. The location is excellent for getting around town on the metro. It's just minutes from everything. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The bed was a little uncomfortable. I couldn't tell if the comforter was sliding down inside the duvet or it was just really thin.
Room was clean and pretty nice. Nice hotel bar and staff was friendly and helpful at the front desk. Would stay again for the price. The bellhop shattered a bottle of vodka that was in my suitcase....said "I should have told them it was fragil" I don't think that gives them the right to just throw my stuff around as if there was nothing of worth in there....what if it was a bottle of cologne that broke - would I have had to tell them it was fragile for something as small as that. After all my stuff was covered in vodka, they let me use their laundry services and actually ended up replacing the bottle with something of similar value. It ended up being okay and I was thankful for the replacement.
The location is excellent in the heart of DC, walking distance to many sights. The HVAC unit in my room failed and I was moved to another room, which also had a faulty HVAC unit, so I was moved to a third room. All of this took place at 8pm, which ruined my plans for the evening. The next day, I was a bit disappointed that neither the manager nor anyone on staff reached out to follow up. Generally, I expect more personal service from Hyatt hotels.
Had horrible service from front desk woman and did not get the room I was assured I would the day before. The maid staff was very helpful and friendly as was the man who worked overnight desk. The room was small with barely any windows but very clean and bed was comfortable. Will never stay in this hotel or Hyatt again based on promise of getting a street view room and then getting a room that literally overlooked all the AC units for hotel and no view of street. Also, the room they assigned us was not ready when we were sent up so we had to get shuffled into another with a worse view. The desk clerk was rude about the whole situation and when we inquired about parking right out front because the signs were very confusing she told us to "read the signs". Seriously- as if we hadn't already. Very rude. Our friends stayed too and had poor service from same two woman.
Super clean, well laid out room. Quite big for an urban hotel. Everything works well. Well thought out.
Reservation was not honored!
Front desk staff were positive and upbeat. I was upgraded to the Penthouse Suite for no additional charge which was unexpected and very nice.
It was actually better then the picture and I thought the picture was nice. Living space large and attractive; the kitchen area was beautiful. And the shower was great. Difficult to park
Our stay was most pleasant in every respect. Location was paramount. Some of the furniture was scaled to smaller people and really not to American standards
The hotel staff was very friendly and the room was a good lay out. Very good location as well. The fitness room is not really a fitness room. It just had a treadmill a stationary bike that did not work and two bowflex machines. I was very dissapointed
the proximity to the convention center and to the commercial areas. I love the shower it has the best water pressure. Also the convenience of the kitchen, microwave and the refrigerator. There was no lobby like the other luxurious hotels, also the breakfast area is too small, need more than pastries, boiled eggs would have been better to start the day, and also the pull up sofa needs to be changed we ended up sleeping on the floor because the mattress like lost its cushion that the wires sticks your back when you lay down on it.
This hotel was perfect. The metro was two blocks away. All in all I would recommend this to anyone. The wifi was a bit slow and you don't get any wifi signal in the bedroom
Good value accomodation for our family (2 adults and 1 teenager) giving us 2 separate rooms with the ability to cook some basic meals. Continental breakfast was included in the price and consisted of a selection of pastries, toast, juice, tea and coffee. We were near a metro station and all the major sights of Washington making this a great base. One end of the road (that nearest the convention centre) was a bit seedy and rundown. Buildings were boarded up and looked desolate.
The hotel is located in a very convenient place, 5 minutes from the metro and 10 minutes from Chinatown. The room was very clean, very classy and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The decor was modern and interesting and is was close to a Metro stop. The front desk people were helpful. It was nosy and there were a number of abandoned buildings next door that are awaiting refurbishment. We had to ask to have the beds made. The breakfast is very continental. There was little variety and no protein.
The hotel has purchased neighboring buildings and they are about to be torn down or at least that is what I was told. This gives the appearance of a run down area. Once you enter the Eldon, you understand how it got the great reviews it has. Everything was perfect and more than expected. The convetion center was one block away and I walked every where I went. The Eldon was much nicer than the other hotels in the area and through bookings.com, it was half the price.
Very comfortable main bedroom and fully equiped kitchen. Close to metro station. Very helpful staff Lots of noise from fridge for person sleeping in sofa bed. No restaurants close by.
Spacious suite, close to metro station , very helpful staff breakfast room too small but I understand this is being rectified. Would have liked better info in rooms regarding local amenitis such as a super, marrket
Friendly staff at the desk and housecleaning. Clean rooms and building. I didn't get the breakfast buffet but it looked delicious and had a lot of options. Lobby bar was nice but short staffed. Bartender was funny and knowledgable of the area. I felt fine walking around the neighborhood. My boyfriend felt it was a little run down. Staff told me it's an "up and coming" neighborhood. I live in a city so I'm always very aware of my surroundings when walking on the street. I would recommend this to everyone, no matter the location. If looking for a restaurant, you would have to either eat at the hotel or go to a different neighborhood. Staff was friendly but checking in was slow. I think someone new was working the desk but still, very friendly and helpful.
You can't beat the location of the Skyline. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facilities are in need of a facelift.
Location, staff and views. Hotel is not well taken care of. Broken bathtubs with cracks. Towels are very rough on the skin, it needs a little or a lot more fabric softener. No mini fridge in rooms. Loud guests in the hallways during weekend nights.
It was clean. There was no frig. TV didn't work. Bathroom was super small.
Ac in cimmin areas was bad. Hallways and lobby were hot and humid.
Good location, nice rooms, in walking distance to the Capitol and the Metro (nearest stop: Navy Yard) Internet was quite slow in my room (I believe I had room 728)
We stayed for one night and our room was beautiful. We got lucky and our room was on the top floor and at the end of the hall so it was nice and quiet (aside from the occasional siren sound that everyone expects in the city). We could literally see the White House and the Washington Monument from our room! 10/10 we are going to try and stay there again! The parking fee was high, but I knew about it ahead of time only because I read reviews ($35/night after tax). Also , they forgot to put washcloths and hand drying towels in our room but we did not much care because of how beautiful the room was!
Noisy.... Pay extra for Parking in the same hotel that I stay...what a scam ....... Allowing People's from outside able to get in the hotel..and used the pool as there owm....overcrowding to pool to the extend that a paying customers can't used was like a old bad episode of MTV video " College spring break party & Cribs mix together I will never stay there again
Clean. Big rooms. Bland rooms. Staff indifferent. First they sent me to the wrong floor where the room was already occupied. In the morning I was awakened by a staff member saying they needed an imprint of my credit card for incidentals. They had not taken down the info properly the night before. THEY WOKE ME UP for an $8.00 charge (that EASILY could have waited until checkout)! Never going back.
Nice pool, and new furniture. Bathroom door did not shut. Wait staff was unfriendly.
First it took forever to check in. The employee checking everyone in was amazing and trying to keep angry customers calm but there needed to be more staff. At 11 pm it should not take 30+ minutes to check in, when I already had a reservation. He couldn't find my reservation and said they don't always see reservations when booked on other sites. Then my room was nice, but freezing! Cold air was coming out when it should have been hot. I tried to bundle up but there was only one blanket.
The price for the room was great! We had a huge, clean room with a coffee pot, TV, view of the pool area. I experienced no cockroaches (which I saw in some other reviews) and the front desk were very accommodating. The location was good, we were 5-10 minutes drive away from all the monuments and it was easy to get to and from the Amtrak station. I'd stay here again! My entire floor wreaked of weed and it looked like a group rented out a room and partied it up. I didn't tell the front desk because once I got into my room, it was quiet and smelled like fresh air.
Nice room service Lift was very old, breakfast was not good after paying $5, don't have a bothtob. We paid $125 after tax per night for the double bed room, I don't know what we should expect for that price. We stayed for 5 nights.
Small clean room, comfortable bed. I would stay here again.
The room was clean. Cigarette smoking washing in front of the entrance from the connected bar. Would be nice if smokers smoked somewhere other than the front door to the hotel. A little expensive too.
I book hotel for my parents as it's walking distance from embassy. They said stuff was friendly Room was tiny and old. Food in restaurant wasn't delicious.
Location very convenient, Staff very professional and friendly. Hotel very clean The elevator doors difficult to use and the rooms a bit small
The location is very convenient to tour DC. Parking a rental car is a bit of work because they only have street parking for a few cars in front of the hotel. the restaurant in the basement has great beer and food bar food entrees. The staff are nice people. I appreciated chatting with them. Other good restaurants and Starbucks near y. Difficult car parking. A bit old. Rooms a bit small. The elevator with manual door. These inconveniences were worth it to get the price and good location.
The Baron was just right for my son and I. From the old-fashioned elevator to the comfy beds and clean room, we loved it! The rooms are small, probably wouldn't be as comfortable for a family, but it was perfect for us. Our check-in clerk was helpful and friendly on Sunday night. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay there was a different clerk and he wasn't friendly or helpful. My son and I kept wishing the other guy would be there! If you like the conveniences of a newer, chain hotel, you won't be happy. No ice machine, old elevator, small rooms.
The only positive part of my stay was leaving the morning after. The hotel is extremely outdated in style, functionality and accommodations. After driving around for 45 minutes looking for parking we finally checked in. At check in, they charged me another $15 for taxes. Taxes based off of the Booking.com charge plus their taxes. The room started at $75 and jumped to $109 after the website fees and taxes, then $125 after the hotel taxes!! After trying to squeeze through the 60 year old elevator doors (I'm not a big guy) we made our way to our room through the hallway tilting toward the stairwell. Once we got to our room is was just as cold as it was outside (25*) and it was the most pathetic looking hotel room I've ever paid for. I can't believe I spent over $40 for this. The heater tried to keep the room warm all night but it was not doing so and it was extremely loud. Our bed had to be the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on. I considered sleeping on the floor to be more comfortable. I was charged for a "Queen" room which clearly stated a queen sized bed. We definitely did not have a queen sized bet, double at most. After not sleeping at all that night, we left just as early as the sun came up. I told the employee at checkout about the bed and his response was "I'll have to tell my manager it was uncomfortable". If you are in DC, AVOID this hotel at all costs. Our second night in DC we found a 4 star hotel and paid even less! I would love my money back for our visit but I have a feeling that won't ever happen.
Not at all what was advised. Don't stay here
The bar underneath the hotel was the best thing about this stay. It is also close to the circle and the metro. The keys had to be replaced at least once a day. And if you can in later than 9 there was no one at the front desk to help replace the keys.
Friendliness of staff, location No help getting up stairs with luggage. Poor TV offerings.
The Fairfax is a very nice hotel; terrific, terrific location close to many great restaurants and the Metro, extremely comfortable room, very accommodating staff. A completely positive experience (as always--I have stayed here before).
Very warmly welcomed. The air conditioner was very noisey
Great location. Comfortable and stylish accommodations.
Location on Embassy row is amazing. It's right around the Australian Embassy, India Embassy, Trinidad & Tobago Embassy and several others. It's also within walking distance to several eateries and DuPont circle. The drain in the bath tub would clog when I took a shower. The cable TV selection was spotty and I had to go down to the bar to watch Monday night football. Some of the wall paper is old and coming off of the wall. but other then that, no major complaints.
Location to the metrorail system. no
Beautiful and spacious room with a wonderful view (although admittedly I was on the top floor on the right side of the building). Excellent location and some great restaurants nearby. The room key magnetization system didn't work well and the staff were not spectacularly efficient.
The Fairfax at Embassy Row exceeded our expectations. All of the staff were well-trained, courteous and extremely helpful. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom had a great shower, and two morning newspapers were provided. The concierge recommended a monthly event at the nearby Phillips Collection, which happened to coincide with our stay. The hotel has a great location, near the Metro and scores of restaurants and shopping. We were very impressed with the hotel and would definitely return.
The staff at the reception were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. I think they deserve a thumbs up :)
I really like the staff there and the fruits, candy and maps prepared for us. It's 15 minites walk to the white house. Location is beatiful and convinient. It was a little bit noisy at night because someone next door or above was talking. The noise cancelling was not that good.
The rooms were a very good size, had separate living and sleeping space, and a kitchenette. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The best part was it's proximity to the Foggy Bottom metro stop, which put all of DC within reach. Otherwise it's only about a 20 minute walk to reach the monuments at the end of the mall. Parking costs extra, and street parking Is near impossible
The facilities, furniture, and furnishings are a bit older, but you get room to spread out in, the location is excellent, and the price is relatively inexpensive. It was great for a group visiting DC to explore all the wonderful sights to see. We had absolutely no complaints!
Great location, friendly staff, and large rooms with kitchen inside.
We all enjoyed staying at the hotel. The location was convenient and the reception area personnel were very accomodating. We all felt that the breakfast was too expensive, for what was offered. Also, the service was awful.
Staff was amazing and attentive, location great Could use some updating
To begin, the location is second to none. 2 minutes away from the metro. And all the main DC sites are within minutes using the metro. Staff was also great, every morning there was lemon water and apples available for guests to start their day. Ultimately, the place was amazing, no complaints from my side, very clean, very tidy, and comfortable.
The best part of this hotel is the location. With children at GWU, it's the perfect place to stay to be close to campus, restaurants, and other Washington adventures. The beds and pillows were comfy. I didn't care for the smell of smoke coming in to the bathroom through the fan that ran constantly or tj e broken dial on the heat lamp in the bathroom so that it did not turn off automatically, I asked the gentleman at the front desk about dirty drips on the bathroom floor, the big smear on the bathroom wallpaperor. He said the housekeeping manager was there at the time and he would send her up. No one showed up before I checked out the following day. The 6" x 9" steam/burn on the carpet in the bedroom was also a big eyesore. I also didn't like being evacuated by a false fire alarm at 7 AM.
Staff was VERY helpful, cheerful, and knowledgeable. The only problem was a dance competition that was held nearby. When the competitors arrived at 2:00am it was a bit noisy.
Location, staff, adjustable fan in the room (quiet AC).
We loved that the hotel was within walking distance to the Kennedy Center and the Mall. The staff was wonderful, but occasionally there would be a line at the desk so a second person would have been nice. Parking is done by a valet for $40 a day. They went out of their way to make it convenient for us especially when we were in a hurry. One of the desk staff actually walked us to the Metro stop when we asked how to get there. How much better can it get! I would have liked it if they had a restaurant, even a small one, on site. Breakfast would be awesome but I'm not sure they have the room. The hallways were badly overheated and the room was too so we actually opened the window at night to be comfortable.
Location & Staff Run down A/C didn't work Parking was $40.00 + $7.50 (Tax)
Safe for the area as it is surrounded by a rod iron fencing around the campus and a manner security station, overall very clean, employees were friendly. Food in Bistro was fresh with a good selection, and staff very accommodating, but a little expensive for the offerings. The grounds were pleasant and spacious. Room was very quiet and could not hear noises in the halls, or from neighbors. It was spacious. The bedding was comfortable and towels thick and felt nice. Great customer service from the front desk as they responded well above and beyond to concern of an item I had left behind with excellent follow through. The room was not stocked appropriately for the number of people staying the in room; the shower needed some repairs on the adjustable bar; totally missing. Made showering awkward to say the least. The price of breakfast was a little high for the area. Should simply build the parking fee structure into the cost of their rooms, given you are certainly not going to park off campus and walk to the hotel.
Friendly staff! Hotel shuttle drivers were very friendly and accommodating. Location isn't good. Removed from all the sites and food places. Hotel shuttle is not as convenient as I thought it would be since there's only one and it only leaves every hour.
Breakfast best level but expensive; Bus to center without cost (every hour or so); Very different level of service, evening person was cool up to not very friendly, in the morning very helpful; Far away from center (you need bus or taxi);
Very convenient...nice shuttle service to the union station Would be nice if Bristo is open daily throughout the week
Location Shuttle Broken window Heat didn't work Broken toilet seat Broken sink drain
good location and suttle servive to union station room air conditioning needs improvement
The staff made our stay very welcoming and accomodating. The room was clean and pleasant to sleep in. The grounds were well kept and very convenient.
Everyone nice. Use of computer. Rooms excellant The neighborhood may not be the best but we were in a university and they had a bus to take you to the metro station running every 20 minutes
Loved the location. It was close to so many places and really appreciated the shuttle to union station. This was second time we stayed at Kellogg and each time our room key did not work so we had to return to front desk and there were no apologies-no nothing! Almost as if it was our fault.
Slightly out of the way but very convenient for our needs. Very quiet. I would definitely stay there again.
The location and the staff, also that my daughter attends Gallaudet U, I will be coming back! No fridge or microwave and no complimentary coffee in the morning.
The rooms are excellent and the hole university/college place its very nice. The area where the hotel is situated is not nice or safe at all.
Room was clean and comfortable. Food was excellent. They refused to provide receipt at the end of our stay. Strange.
Great location in the west end of the city close to Georgetown and DuPont Circle. Walgreens is across the street, as well as a Ritz Carlton. The bar/restaurant had good American fare and it's a good place to unwind.
Clean Recently renovated Kind staff Late checkout (12pm) Excellent location Very small pool Mediocre restaurant
The staff - from the front desk to the man who greeted us at the door -was very friendly and welcoming! When we asked for a late check out then extended our time by 30 minutes only. That seemed silly.
Nice clean rooms. Friendly staff. Great location for Georgetown and GWU. For a brand new hotel with lots of current technology the air conditioning unit was surprisingly noisy. Bring earplugs for sleeping.
We stay in DC a lot but first time in this hotel. Very clean and great service. The attached restaurant/bar was very good as well with excellent service, nice selection and very reasonable DC prices. The area is good and this hotel is well situated.
Great location. Very clean. Great rooms. Great showers and Neutrogena bath products. I only gave the value three stars because it was $400 a night. HOWEVER, it was a big weekend in DC and all hotels were ridiculously priced. But since I don't know what the normal rate is, I have to say it was not worth the price.
The staff was amazing. They were extremely courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel just based off of that. Lao, the rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable. Awesome location.
Front desk staff was great at check in and even called the room later to make sure it was good for us. The hotel is convenient to the metro, and was a great value for the area. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the extra towels I requested were not in the room on anyday we were there.
Nice room to spread out in as a family of three Very clean Prompt valet service Helpful front desk Seemed to be in a cute up and coming neighborhood Slow service at breakfast and dinner
Exceeded expectations in all aspects. No cons
It was clean. Should have been a brochure of services provided
The staff was very helpful and courteous. The room was comfortable and well-appointed. I really appreciated the free wifi. Although the modern decor is nice, it looks like the hotel was done on the cheap. It will be interesting to see if it stays nice for long.
perfect location, very roomy, elegant and quiet. Excellent staff and very courteous. Definitely come back next time i have business in Washington DC. no cons
I like the modern look and the cleanliness. It would have been great to have a free complimentary breakfast in the morning.
We arrived at the hotel exhausted after midnight. We had a bit of confusions going on our hotel reservation, which has been wrongly made for the day after when it was supposed to be that day. Patrick at concierge was the best in responding our inquiries and correcting the wrong booking information. He was courteous and sympathetic about our situation(our flight has been cancelled last might) and provided us with enough amenities like shampoo and soap. What I liked him about the most was his chill, but courteous and pleasant attitude. Other than that, the room was awesome. couldn't believe that I can book a room like that in the center of DC. Everything was new and clean. I like every single detail.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would recommend Cambria to anyone and I would definitely stay there again.
elegant yet accessible decor-stylishly appointed rooms. welcoming staff and amazing neighborhood location
Hotel was very nice and clean. Beds were super comfortable. They said my room would be ready by 3pm. We got there after 5pm and still had to wait for at least 30 minutes for a clean room.
I really liked the contemporary feel to the hotel. Very spacious. Kids enjoyed the pool (small). I am not sure how well the room in cleaned daily. We found an old "tissue" underneath the sink when we checked in. Towels were not always replaced even though we put them in an appropriate area. Other than that, fantastic stay. Parking stinks but that is the case everywhere in DC.
Nice early check in. Clean and comfy beds. Expensive. Lack of free wifi is annoying
Walking distance to Mall and Georgetown Nothing
We had an excelent stay at Marriot.... We enjoyed But...... 5 minutes after we leave the room, my wife left an expensive blouse in the room... I personally hanged out the blouse in the closet...so I went back to pick it up.... sadly I couldn't find it..... the staff came to the room..... But nothing of blouse was there.... that evening in our family meeting my wife didnt know what to wear.... So sad.... No time to shopping that day. So, Next time you leave you room in this Hotel.... you know what to do before close the door ....
To get to the included internet was very confusing without asking. Al the other options had an extra cost.
A satisfying choice-well appointed, good sized rooms. Comfy bed. Good location to Foggy Bottom and Georgetown
staff was very friendly room was very musty smelling hotel seemed a little worn and rundown
good friendly service
The location at 21st and M is great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The cookies at check in were delicious! The property seemed to be under some type of renovation. So, from the outside, parts of the hitem seemed to be out of commission. The room was fine. But the hallway was almost exclusively grey and dated.
We arrived in town earlier than expected and we were allowed to check in very early with no trouble.
The room was tiny and a dump. It was dusty, I was sick all night. The hotel is in need of a major renovation.
Always enjoy our stay here - great location
Convenient to convention center. Older but modernized and clean. Not a lot of parking available. Valet was full both nights I stayed. Hotel keys problematic. Vending machines were not working On my floor.
Close to monuments downtown Roaches in collegues room
Complimentary Coffee/Tea bar 24/7, breakfast, daily apples in lobby, friendly staff. Neighborhood location under construction.
The rooms are comfortable and quiet. We found a mouse trap into our room, which could be very dangerous for children because of the poison (and very disgusting for the adult). Although we mentioned it to the front desk, they didn't apply the 100% Hampton satisfaction policy, that implay the refunding of room charges. In addition, they charged our credit card multiple times with different amounts of money that they were unable to justify and so far (4 days later) we still don't know the exact amount of money we have been charged on our card. This is not professional.
I had a comfortable stay. Very clean room and kind staff. Free internet in room. Walking distance to the convention center. Breakfast (included) was not luxurious but enough for me.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The gym had four workout machines and two of them were not functional. In the morning this prevented travelers from getting a morning workout in.
Great price. Friendly, helpful staff. Useful amenities (refrigerator, business center, complimentary hot breakfast). Very clean room.
Staff, breakfast, pool
Forced to valet park at $99 for 2 nights. I don't like to valet park. I didm;t have an option. If I had known this ahead of time, I never would have booked.
The room was very comfortable and clean, free breakfast in the morning and helpful front desk staff The ice machine outside my room was very noisy, the location was a bit dodgy and I didnt like the walk back, especially at night, the internet is not very fast and resets every 24 hours
A great value for being walkable to the capital mall area, great restaurants, etc. A block from Safeway too.
It was very well positioned in downtown DC. It was very old which was kinda cool but take your allergy meds it was very dusty. I think it may have been haunted too... Lol
Location is very ideal and convenient Carpet in the foyer and lifts looks too old and dents impression on the hotel
We basically got two rooms for the price of one. A room with two singles for the kids and the other with a king. The price was half of the other hotels in the area and was close to everything. The rooms were dated and while I wouldn't say the were dirty they were rough around the edges. The beds were old school and not the most comfortable.
location hasn't been renovated in, like, 80 years. shabby doesn't fully capture it. windows are thin and so noisy tasters choice instant coffee in the room
