Have stayed many times - the experience is always great
I had to cancel my reservation due to an emergency, and was charged a full day at the hotel. I never stayed there. Very unfair.
The hotel is dated. The window air conditioner kept the room too cold and woke me up often
A party on our floor was raging til 4am when it was finally ended due to police intervention despite many phone call to front desk beginning at 10pm. Got $50 off stay but should have been completely comped.
The large bathtub--one of the great things about older hotels Location close to the metro Friendly staff
Walls are somewhat thin. Could hear hallway noise and room next door.
Close to transportation and restaurants.
This is a gorgeous hotel. The entrance is very grand with beautiful chandeliers. The staff was attentive and polite. We checked in quickly and were given a large room with a balcony - even a spacious bathroom. The metro is very close if you're heading to the monuments or museums. Also the zoo is about a half mile up Conn. Ave. which was convenient. Adams Morgan is nearby and there are lots of great restaurants in between. You can't beat this location anywhere in D.C. I've stayed at the Omni in New Orleans, New York, and Richmond over the years. They are all an excellent choice. Nothing.
Hotel is nice enough, clean and comfortable, polite staff, the normal positives from a hotel. Besides parking it was a very good experience. The only thing I would complain about is that parking in the area is incredibly difficult at best. The hotel has plenty of parking but it costs 50$ for overnight and there wasn't really any warning for this fact, if there was it would have been much less annoying.
The OMNI is a beautiful hotel with a lovely garden and nice pool and gym. Excellent location for conferences in the Wardman Center just across. Good connection to metro. I had booked a room 3 months in advance including 4 days on a conference rate. 5 days before the main meeting I received an email telling me I had to move to an airport hotel, 30 minutes drive away from the hotel and the conference I was going to attend for the Tuesday and Wednesday night of my Sunday to Saturday stay because of a 'technical error' in booking. I had a meeting at the OMNI the very Tuesday. When calling them management (Chris) was non-accommodating and impolite and the offer of a refund to find another accommodation is little help 4 days before a conference with 4000 attendants. They offered to cover one of the nights in the airport hotel. Overall friendliness in the hotel was not at the level usually encountered in places of this level and I had to call at 14:00 one day to get the room serviced.
Location, facilities, foods Staff ignored basic requests, reserved a king room but instead ended up with a double queen and a half apology along with how can we make up for it... my response was please provide me with a room on a high floor; 3rd floor!
I liked the size of the rooms. The elevators fit maybe 4 people. One of the two broke and we waiting for about 15 before we took the stairs from the 8th floor. We had a group of friends staying on the east end. Someone was throwing and party and you could hear them when we got off the elevatorl. It was unacceptable how loud there were. An hour later security came and did nothing. I was glad my room was on the other side of the hotel.
Very little Terrible customer service
Close to where I needed to be. Good amenities on site. Bed was comfortable, not luxurious, but fine for a night or two. Price was great, I assume marked down for slower holiday time while there was no business travel.
It's a great location. Near metro and plenty of great places to eat. Walls are paper thin. Had very noisy neighbors. Called staff but did not help.
workout facility, proximity to conference at Omni The first room they put me in was one of the worst in the hotel, on the first floor right next to a very busy, noisy street. The noise was so bad I got hardly any sleep. No one should be put anyone in a room like that, particularly when they are staying 4-5 nights. The next day I had to get pretty assertive with the staff at the front desk that I wasn't staying in the room another night, and needed to be switched. They claimed they didn't have any rooms available, but when I asked to see a manager, they were able to locate another room instantly. After two separate trips to the front desk, they finally moved my room.
I frequently travel to Washington on business and tried this guest house. It is literally across the street from the Metro. It is very clean, very dignified, very quiet, very welcoming, and very relaxing. I will return. I liked everything. Two things that I liked, but others may not like:1) There are no TVs in the rooms or on the premises. There is wi-fi. 2) Room 114 is next to the kitchen. You smell coffee at 6:30, so if you are not a morning person take note.
comfort of bed, quality of bathroom, outstanding free breakfast, afternoon cookies and wine. Attitude of ALL staff. Quick, flexibility of owners. Opportunity to meet owners. Conversation in the morning and evening at the dining room table. Location
The staff was lovely and incredibly helpful. The room was clean and homey. The location was great right next to the zoo and the metro.
A/C, breakfast, very convenient location - near our daughter's apartment, National Zoo, busses and Metro, Starbucks; good restaurants within walking distance; nice patio to relax on Weird mattress - too bouncy/soft, towels too thin, carrying suitcases up to third floor, lack of electrical outlets
