Location Hidden charges. $58 a night to park. Nowhere did I see that when I booked the trip. $8 for a draft beer that should be $3, I get a call from security in the evening waking me up, stating that the policy is to call if the do not disturb sign is out. The do not disturb sign was out, I didn't want to be disturbed. Couldn't go back to sleep. I'm a small business owner, if I treated my customers that way, I would be out of business. I will never give that hotel a dime again.
Excellent Capitol Hill location. Comfortable base for young children on their first tour of the Capital.
We upgraded at check-in for an extra $50 which doubled the space. The location is excellent as it's walking distance to several sites. The fitness center is excellent and is included in the price of the room. Lack of parking requires you to valet for $56 a day. If you are somebody that needs a great view you won't find it here.
Quiet even though we were on lower floor and overlooked front of building. Great location. Restaurant (breakfast) food just ok.

The room was nice until we looked out the window and found we had a great view of the roof... (sarcasm) Valet constantly begging for tips. Being from Vegas I tip almost excessively however if someone begs for it or nearly has his hand out the entire time it is not coming. It's called a gratuity for a reason. Then when delivering the vehicle no opening the trunk, and doesn't return the seat to where they found it or at least close. Not much effort in valet.
Walking to distance to good lunch and dinner choices Hotel lobby shop was typical "airport prices" for anything you'd want, making You feel like a fool if you didn't to walk across the street and buy a snack or coffee at 1/3 price.
Very nice amenities and the shower was great! I booked my stay two month prior for a King Bed for one night. When I got there, they said they were sold out of King Bed's and all they had were two doubles. Not the biggest deal, but what is the point of booking a King in advance if that is not what is available? Also, our room did have a musty smell to it when we first got it. After running the air for a bit, it went away.
That staff was very helpful and friendly. Also, the location was great. Very close to the Capitol building. We upgraded to a buffet breakfast, which was lacking and the hot food was cold. Not a good value at $25/ person, but at a hotel, I understand the price, but if the food is cold, then it was a waste of money.

The comfort of the room was fantastic, especially compared to the price we paid. The breakfast we had at the Art & Soul was tremendous... And the Concierge was very professional when we asked for information about sightseeing and dining in DC, unfortunately I don't remember his name! All in all a wonderful stay! Nothing!
We enjoyed our stay at the Washington court hotel after the liaison did not have a room for us. We arrived at the liaison at 12 am hoping to get into our room quickly and get some rest. We waited in line for at least 30 minutes to check in, as other guests appeared to be having issues with check in. After finally reaching the check in desk, we were told that the room we had reserved was not available. The only available room had no bed, just a pull out couch that could only sleep one person. This situation was the same for another 5-6 parties attempting to check in after us. We were given the option of staying at another hotel down the street and switching back to the liaison for the second night of our stay. We decided to cancel our liaison reservation and stay at the other hotel for both nights. The entire situation was handled in a very unprofessional manor, adding stress and confusion to what we hoped to be a relaxing weekend.
The room was a little bit too much in regards to modern art deco. There was no two lamp that was the same. Parking cost $48 overnight,
The bed was extremely comfortable. It was very quiet. I didn't hear much noise inthe hall and nothing from adjoining rooms.
The location The restaurant was under renovation and the breakfast was okay with no table to sit. I deplore this but I understand in a sens but they could do better to accomodate the guest to sit. I will still recommand the Hotel

Location, but there was no many restaurants around there, so we all went to Hilton, but the dinner on 11th Fl at Hilton was terrible. The room was small, and bathroom was stuck all the time, so the next person had to shower in the full of water of bath tub.
The bed was very comfortable; room very clean and attractive. Our hotelwas on the tenth floor just below the fitness room. We were wken up at around 6 am for four days due to the noise of someone uisng the facilitities. We would recommend this hotel to others with the caveat to do so only if the room is on a lower floor.

Valet and door staff were terrific, as was check-out staff. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The location was perfect for our activities in the city, close to the Metro and the Capitol. Price was very reasonable, Overall it was an excellent value. Registration person never bothered to look up during the transaction, even when we first approached the desk - she just sensed we were there and launched into her questions. Repeated the mistake when we returned with the valet ticket to stamp.

Most convenient location. A short walk from Union Station where our bus dropped us. A short walk to the memorials and the mall. The lobby was huge and welcoming, though some of the couches were a bit worn and needs to be replaced. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and there was a Keurig coffee maker in our room! The bathroom was very spacious and the showers were awesome. A safe would have been helpful to store passports, money and small electronics instead of lugging everything around while touring. Location is good and central. Price was o.k.-ish. Doormen friendly. front desk staff was either not friendly (one person) or not very competent (second person). Bathroom was not cleaned well on arrival and cleaning person wasn't friendly, either. Won't stay here again.
I RESERVED 5 ROOMS BUT WHEN I CALLED TO ASSIGN NAMES TO THE ROOMS, I WAS SUBJECTED TO A PISSING CONTEST BETWEEN THE FRONT DESK AND RESERVATION DEPARTMENT. iT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE RESOLVED, BUT ON ARRIVASL IT WAS NOT. iT CONTINUED DOWN HILL AT THE FRONT DESK. NEVER AGAIN...
Quiet room. Shower worked. First room not clean (pubic hair in tub, stuck to used soap). Changed room. Got a sarcastic apology. Next day, coffee maker in room didn't work. Asked for a new one. Instead, they sent a repair guy ("did you put water in it?" -really!?). Took 45 mins to finally get coffee & hit the gym brfore AM meeting. And what a dump of a gym. One of two treadmills broken, eqipment from 1980. Oh. And $10 for in-room wifi? Why would a business traveler stay at this place? I won't do so again.
Nice room, liked the yoga mat in the room, great location literally minutes from Union Station, and very close to Capitol Hill, museums etc. When I checked in, the staff was very unfriendly. Seriously unfriendly. There was also a problem with the kimpton rewards. I signed up several days before the visit, and got an email that I was accepted, but the hotel had no record of this. I was able to login to the wifi with the email address I used with the kimpton rewards, but the hotel could not find it. It seems that they didn't want to accept it, even though they advertise it on their website and in the room.

My room was apparently newly remodeled, and was very modern, exceptionally clean, and very comfortable. The location - just two blocks from the parks surrounding the Capitol on the senate side, are hard to beat. It's a short block walk to Union Station if arriving via train or Metro. There is very little to the hotel other than the rooms - I didn't use the fitness center or the Dubliner restaurant next door, but if you are just looking for a convenient, impeccable room this is a great choice. I'll definitely return. Via the phone and their web site, they required a 3-day minimum stay. Fortunately booking via Kayak let me book a single night, or I would have had to stay somewhere else.
The proximity to downtown D.C. and the monuments was perfect! We loved that there were a few coffee shops and restaurants nearby, especially the Dubliner, an Irish restaurant and bar, that was situated right under the hotel itself. Staff was incredibly nice and the hotel was very clean - we plan to stay here whenever we come back to visit! The only downfall is that walking around the area at night can be a little questionable, especially going to or coming from downtown D.C. It's eerily quiet.
Staff were very accommodating. Room was rather small, but very comfortable and immaculate. Restaurant and pub attached to hotel and cafe just down the corner. 5 minute walk to Union Station. Only thing missing was coffee maker in the room.
Location, the staff is friendly Draft from windows (they are not sealed),the bathroom is cold (no heating lamp there), the heating blows air straight to bed (not comfortable at all especially after taking a bath) no coffee maker in the room, and no hot drinking water in the lobby after 11 am.
The room was beautiful and clean. The location was excellent. All the hotel staff were Grundy and courteous. Other room's room service trays sitting in the hallway for more than 24 hrs. Unbelievable that they charged $4 for the water bottles in the room. Tried to go for a drink in the pub, staff were not attentive; sat for over 15 mins without getting asked what we wanted or asked about drinks; simply left and no one noticed.
The hotel itself was pleasant despite being under repair such as an out-of-service elevator and an out-of-service ice machine. When I checked out, they tried to charge me for six nights when I had stayed five. When I pointed this out, there was no apology. Mistakes can be made, but overcharging by hundreds of dollars is a very big mistake and deserves some serious groveling. I waited about five minutes for them to correct this, but they couldn't even get logged into the computer. I told them I'd be in the breakfast room and to bring me the corrected receipt. After half an hour, there was still no corrected bill. I went back to the desk to ask about it. This time I got a mumbled "I'm sorry," but I wasn't sure if it was for overcharging or for taking so long. It seems they overcharged everyone in the hotel, and I was just the first to notice. They were sorting out the mess. Besides a serious apology, you'd think they'd be thankful to me for alerting them to a massive problem before they had a lobby full of irate guests. You might think they would at least offer to pay for my breakfast while had to wait so long, if not offering a free night. I got nothing but a long wait. I eventually got my corrected receipt and ran and caught my train to the airport by just one minute.
Comfortable rooms, helpful staff. Private setting with an interesting bar. The night we were there the bar was very busy and noisy yet the noise was completely isolated from the lobby. Irish themed, the bar had an excellent selection of beers and whiskeys. We didn't try the restaurant, so I can't give an opinion. The Phoenix Park is an excellent choice, especially for business travelers. Nothing - good place to stay.
The location, the historic building and furnishings, and the connected Irish Pub in the building. Fantastic location! The amenities were bare bones. No frig in room, no comp breakfast or wine hour. Only one set of small bathroom toiletries. Room was dusty. Only one elevator working (under construction). Could offer coffee or iced tea or lemonade in lobby.

The fitness center was a little lacking as well: small space and there were free-weights, but no benches on which to use them. The water pressure in the shower was very weak. It was like trying to shower with a toy squirt gun. Check-in could have been a bit smoother: we arrived around noon, so we had previously requested an early check-in (normal check-in is 3:00 PM and this is not explicitly stated until you complete your booking). We were told over the phone early check-in would not be possible. Once we arrived, we went to the hotel anyway to see if we could store our bags. It turned out we were able to check in early, so I'm not sure why were initially told that early check-in was not possible. Service at the restaurant was poor. We went for lunch after checking in. I ordered a drink after we were seated and I did not receive it until after we were finished eating and had received the check. There was some kind of problem with their taps. They were apologetic and did provide the drink for free since it took so long, which was nice.
