Friendly staff and a quick check-in. Nice big bed and a reasonably spacious room. The price was the main factor, and it was the best deal in town. I'm not too picky, so I didn't mind it. The door had 3 locks (doorknob, deadbolt, and chain), but only the doorknob lock actually worked. The chain was missing, and the deadbolt wouldn't turn to lock. Ordinarily not too much of a problem, but I had my laptop in the room and felt very uneasy having to leave it there when we went out of the room for extended periods of time. It also caused some concern when "someone" came and knocked on our door at 1am. We didn't answer the door, and after a few knocks they went away, but it would have been nice to know that the door was more secure. A somewhat shady character who looked to be a long-term resident had approached us earlier asking for a cigarette, so it could have just been a "friendly local" looking to bum a smoke, but I didn't feel like getting out of bed to find out. The pool on property would have been nice if it was working, but it was empty and had a thick layer of bog slime in the bottom. We had a non-smoking room, but it had a very strong stale smoke odor. Also, the A/C struggled to keep the room cool; it was warm in there. None of these were dealbreakers to me, but I'm not too picky. If you are on a budget and are okay with a bit of run-down, you'll be fine.
