Recently refurbished to a high standard, this hotel offers most of what a business traveller could require. A seperate bar and reception desk would have been a better idea
Hotel was clean and staff courteous - nice place to stay
The location is excellent, perfect surroundings and close to villages and the M40, but not affected by the motorway at all. The hotel is ultra clean and very well designed with a mix of contemporary and country feel which I thought worked really well and feels relaxing and laid back. The staff could be more professional and attentive to guests, they seemed busy, a tad scatty and preoccupied. Three different staff saw us on arrival but did not acknowledge us or say anything until we grabbed a manager and asked how to check in, it's not immediately obvious where the reception is as it's a small part of the main bar area. The only other thing would be the road the hotel is on does seem to be quite a well used road and tends to be used as a race strip. The front facing rooms could do with a better form of secondary glazing to combat this.
We had a short 1 night stay. Room and bathroom were large and modern (LCD TV, airconditioning, bathtube with shower). Fair breakfast, but no great. My room was not noisy, but I guess it depends on which side of the building you are. I asked for a double bed and received a twin bed instead. English breakfast was not included in the room price and costed 5 GBP. This was not obvious and I had to pay it when checking out. Very little accesories offered (just soap, shampoo, conditioner and showe cap). I would have expected more from a 4* hotel. The choice for the breakfast was also limited, I've stayed in 3* hotels in Warshaw which were much better value.
Great staff and attention to detail, great food but just on the edge of expensive. Food as excellent as it is could perhaps be 20% less, which would make it even more delicious.
Attractive room good quality for the price Staff on reception have to answer phone and deal with reservations whilst you stand and wait to checkout. Need a different system as quite annoying when you are limited for time.
Very nice hotel and room. Breakfast was lovely. Service was brilliant. Food in restaurant is very expensive with no alternative food for people without such an exquisute palete. There are three different address for the place and it took us a long time and many phone calls to find the right way. There should be a sign from the main road. There could also be blinds/or something like that, in the ground floor rooms so the windows can be open without people staring in. I also wanted to have a few treatments bit the treatment rooms were not open on the sunday or monday. If I had been told this on the saturday I would of had a treatment then. I was very dissapointed about that as that was the reason I chose this hotel. The shower in room 107 is very weak aswell.
Room was nice and clean. Room close to the main road, noise!
The hotel has a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The room was excellent and the staff couldn't have done anything better. If I was nitpicking I would ask for softer pillows!
Everything was excellent. Fantastic staff, great atmosphere, super rooms. I would give this hotel 11/10 Absolutely nothing
Lovely hotel and rooms. Particularly impressed by the turn down service. No
excellent location in central Oxford, minutes away from historic colleges, the central market, and the bus station. Rooms were small, extremely overheated and poorly ventilated. Old carpeting triggered allergies. Breakfast not included in the room price and very expensive ($30 for a continental buffet).
Location, 'character', most staff (but not all) Very high parking fee, long walk to room, noise of large fan/generator, modest bedroom and facilities, unpleasant view, bizarre naked footprints on flat roof outside window, smell of sewage ('exceptional' problem), credit card surcharge (incredible!). Very poor value. Also adding 'MacDonald' to the name rather detracts from the image, I'm afraid. Next time: The Old Bank
The location of the Hotel in the centre of Oxford We stayed in the Hotel before and liked it very much. On this occasion we found it somewhat disappointing. Many small things caused us some frustration.
Excellent central location.Spacious and well furnished room. Unable to sleep due to traffic noise.
Friendliness. Convenience to City Centre. Quiet. Long circuit up hill and down dale to executive room on first floor - miles from lift and still requiring negotiating stairs. Brilliant black-out curtains spoiled by light streaming under the door from the corridor.
Convenience, quality of service Smoking in main bar area.
The friendliness & helpfulness of the staff. The excellent breakfast. The well-equipped bathroom. The proximity to the Ashmolean I should have preferred a duvet rather than blankets on my bed. I found the blankets too hot and constricting
It is in an excellent location for visiting my daughter who is studying at Worcestor college. We were in a room with heavy scaffolding blocking the entire two windows. Men were talking, yelling & working/pounding in front of the two windows every morning. They totally ignored us who needed sleeping in the room. There were no privacy nor courtesy. We were not informed or asked if it's Ok for the reception to assign such a downgraded room (the windows were blocked by scaffolding entirely)to us at check in either. The service and facilities were at most a one star hotel this time. I stayed in this hotel for about 5 times in the last two years because we were visiting our daughter who was studying at Worcestor college(one block away). They've been always about a three stars hotel standard. But this time was the worst. We will not use this hotel any more. It's totally not worth the price & the poor facility.
Clean bedsheets and towels Very small rooms for the price; You can't reach the reception directly; you basically have to go through hoops and being on hold before someone picks up; the staff are not quick in responding to issues or concerns. Wifi was really quite poor--it bounced off every five minutes.
room was clean and bathroom large. there was a cost of 4pounds per 20 minutes for the internet. should be complimentary. as well, they charged me for newspaper - 1pound, to use my visa to pay bill 2.50pounds and a "carer distribution fee of 1pound. this was unacceptable!
Good enjoyable stay
Even though we had asked for a twin room on booking and had called before checking we were told there no twins available, but the reception staff offered us two rooms for the same rate as a double which was extremly generous!
It's location to the NEC is perfect My late request but unable to book an extra night
The food was generally very good - the service was quick - we liked the call bells on the outside tables The premium room was disappointing .. very small. We've stayed in many better quality bigger rooms in othe hotel chains for the same or less price. Also the views from the hotel when in the restaurant were very poor - roofs / aerials / ventilation ducts etc.could be improved with plants etc.
the place was clean Jurys Inn had no charm. It was a modern space, dorm room style maze. A lot of eastern European workers with no charm. The red head curly haired euro woman need to learn to smile. I hated my stay here. No food at night. Cold AC. Wankers!
Great Staff! Great workout room and Sauna!
It takes 15 min. from city centre to the hotel. But it's clean, confortable and good sevice
Staff were good and the hotel facilities were aslo good
Room was clean, warm and quiet. Parts of the room were tired, paint chipped etc
breakfast, nothing special but both cooked and continental meals Internet was supposed to work and free of charge in the public area of the hotel, whilst it was a pay per hour in the room. Internet in the public area didn't work. We had to repeat a wait-and-trial for over half an hour in the lobby area. Others had the same problem. The front desk staff would not give half an hour free access to internet in the room in lieu of the inconvenience caused, whilst we were in urgency in sending messages to overseas counterparts who were waiting to hear from us at their end. Bathtub drains didn't function properly. TV reception was poor.
Leaving the hotel during the day Poor service, poor food and sub standard room
The choice in the restaurant was very poor.
I liked that the size of the room was good and that we had a good dinner for a gour star hotel The staff seemed a little overwhelmed at breakfast
The quirky nature of the former prison - cleverly converted The lighting in the rooms was too dim to read
the hotel building is beautifully restored and kept, the room and service were of high standard the hotel is dark everything is painted black there are very few lights and most places such as the brasserie and the main lobby are dim , everybody dresses in black at the reception desk and at the restaurant, black bed cover and black bed cushions black desk closet night tables, grey bathroom, black wall to wall carpet with tiny strips of red that reminded me of blood
Location Uncomfortable beds, hairdryers not working and extremely limited sundry items, tea bags etc..
Nice hotel, interesting features and full of character. Unfriendly staff. Shower broken, both of us had to have cold shower in the morning, not so nice! Duvet cover ripped all across. When this was pointed out to the male receptionist on check out we were told that this is not generally the case in the c block!! No mention of sorry!! Made to feel like a liar!
Responsive staff- about the best I have encountered. Taxi booked by hotel was 25 minutes late despite several calls by staff to chase
Althiugh it was a busy weekend, the staff, were pateient courteoud and helpful.
Excellent location, great design hotel There was an issue with my bill at checkout. Reception quite rude
Very comfortable and friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.
The hotel is very stylish and has a unique atmosphere. It's very close to the city center and the train station which is very convenient. The restaurant has superb food and is reasonably priced. The shower was quite challenging. No matter how hard I tried, the water I got was lukewarm at best.
Central location, unique design, extremely handy for the Oxford Colleges which was why we booked it. Particularly liked the fact that you are immediately into the centre of the city as you leave the hotel Finding the hotel is difficult - the SatNav takes you to the back of the hotel( which is hopeless) and Oxford is very difficult for car drivers. Either do park and ride or leave yourself plenty of time and print a map.
Well situated.Intriguing building with a good ambiance.Has the potential to be excellent. Seemed under staffed at reception and so no warm feeling of care ,especially noticeable as this was the only customer engagement point.
Large clean rooms Fast wifi Bt bland and corporate. Not quite as close to the centre as we would have liked.
We ate in the dining room each evening as the town was a 25 minute walk away. The service was very good and choice of menu reasonable. The hotel was a warren of rooms and clinical in design lacking in any character. Our allocated room was very small with only a double bed and as one set of towels was delivered each day ,we wondered if we had been allocated a single room as it was a busy weekend. We received a refund of one night after complaining.
An all round excellent hotel. We particularly liked the rural location, which was only a few minutes walk from the city centre.
Sports Club facilities were excellent, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Restaurant was very busy as there was a coach party also staying
It was my 2nd stay in Oxford Spires Four Pillars Hotel through Booking.com and it was very pleasant and the staff are very professional
Very friendly and attentive staff. Excellent food in restaurant. Excellent facilities. Good location
very comfortable, easy reach of oxford, lovely views and surroundings. little vague if we had breakfast included in price
Very attentive, efficient and helpful service. The location is excellent and it is comfortable and quiet. Breakfast had a wide variety of options. The choice on the dinner menu was rather restricted for a 4-star hotel, although service was excellent. Also, would expect better pillows than lumpy synthetic ones!
I liked the fact that the staff was friendly especially in Deacons Bar. The front desk staff were also helpful with transportation and a room change. I appreciated that they were willing to make the change so easily. Although it was a lovely hotel with beautiful grounds, I feel their housekeeping proceedures really brought them down. The room I stayed in had brown grime on the shower walls and had obvioulsy not been cleaned in a while. Also, the pillows were extremely flat and made for an uncomfortable night sleep. The sheets were also not changed in the 4 nights we stayed there. We knew this because they were put on without care so everytime you pulled back the covers your sheets came undone especially on my husbands side of the bed where there was not enough material to tuck them back under the mattress. More attention to this would have helped the stay!
Convenient location with the huge advantage of car parking. The hotel was clean and comfortable.
easy reach of city centre, hotel layout very good, friendly staff, food very good.
Clean modern rooms with large comfortable beds. Large flat screen tv and good size power shower. Staff very friendly and bar a popular meeting place. Breakfast quite expensive, only downside
Just the ticket for a city break. Some really nice touches that set this hotel apart from others. Will use again.
Everything was absolutely ok,very satisfied.
The hotel room was amazing. No complaints at all.
the cleanliness, the spa, the atmosphere was very quiet. the location was perfect. the rooms were big
All the staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble.
Staff were very nice Not sure if it's common but breakfast was expensive and for the price of a room breakfast should be included. Should also invest in better non feathered pillows. Pool table also had a big tear in it and was unusable.
Staff were very helpful and attentive Pool area is looking "tired" and could do with a make over.
The shower, big and hot. Lovely,. Nothing I didn't like really
Excellent, friendly, and courteous staff.
The whole experience was very enjoyable
Well located for shops pubs eateries and clubs. Hotel is very modern and the breakfast is the best I have every experienced in this type of hotel. You are only 30mins by train from London the station is 5 mins walk.
The friendliness and service give my all the staff - The all over cleanliness was exceptional. Only point of irritation was the the loud spring noises from the bed (only a minor point). I would like to suggest that a lower cost breakfast option was avialble in the Dinning Roon for visitors that only require a basic 'continental' breakfast. Eg cerials / toast / fruit.
Good location, facilities, rooms and staff
The location of the hotel was ideal for our shopping trip. We only walked a few minutes from the train station and could walk straight out of the hotel to the shops. The room was excellent, it was spacious and immaculately clean.
The swimming pool, the steam room and sauna was great. Very friendly and helpful staff.
convenience and cleanliness sofa bed wasn't made up and only had one pillow
relaxed , friendly staff , always helpful and polite. late checkouts a big bonus. none.
More electrical outlets for charging stuff would be nice
Location and price!
Hairdryer needed in the room
Great shower No complaints
Best beds in town!
Very clean and very keenly priced for a city centre hotel. Good location near to shops, restaurants and bars. Car parking expensive (ncp car park one street away).
My stay was as I was expecting Arrived at the hotel to find that my room had been cancelled. They were able to sort the room out but it did take a long time
Clean, modern furnishings, great shiwer Soundproffing not great
A very warm, tidy ,clean hotel in a great location. Very polite and helpful staff, all basic facilities for a christmas shopping trip. I have enjoyed my stay very much. everything was excellent!
Close to the train station for ease of arrival/departure the carpet in the room was a little bit tired and only one tea bag was provided but several sachets of coffee and i prefer tea and would have been nice to include a small biscuit or two
Clean and tidy. Reasonable room with modern bathroom suite. Comfortable beds. Poor attitude of staff. Only want to do minimal for you. Poor decor in room. Noisy location
quiet, clean and comfortable car parking very expensive at £13 for an overnight stay in a rather rundown area at the rear of the hotel - this extra payment doesnt make the room seem such good value.
Quick service.easy access from motorway
Bar food was poor
We were very pleased with the sevice given to us throughout our stay at the Oxford Holiday Inn. The staff were fantastic! We have suffered quite badly in the past staying at hotels due to being a same sex couple and it was lovely to not experience that this weekend. We would definatley book with you again in the future without any reservations - thank you!!!
Friendly staff, close to Oxford city centre
Having stayed in a great number of hotels this year, the Holiday inn at Oxford was by far the noisiest. We could hear every word the guests next door were saying, as well as toilets flushing etc.
breakfast was excellent, good selection and plenty of it bar prices are high, both for snacks and drinks
Beautiful Hotel. Great facilities and Fantastic Breakfast!!! Being woken up by Housekeeping knocking on the room door at 9am
Hotel was very nice, staff very helpful and friendly. We used the dining room for Dinner and the quality of the food was not good at all. Three of us had different meals and none of us liked them, especially in view of the high cost. We also had breakfast which was very good, all food warm and tasty.
Service was excellent, as was the food, which is always a big bonus, particularly the breakfast. Bar prices were expensive
Location The bedroom was very cold and there appeared to be no heating. When we asked they sent up an oil filled radiator.
The cleanliness of the hoel Lack of heating to the hotel, it was very cold
A quiet night sleep Too warm/hot, heating on constantly. TV not working corectly.
good value for money, clean, easy for park & ride ( into Oxford). our room 228 was just above function room so rather noisy - but at least it wasn't very late! Service in the restaurant was rather slow.
The food and good service in the restaurant. The room in Elm House, up a hill, behind the Hawkewell House.
Came to do Xmas shopping. Hotel has parking facilities & is within easy reach of Oxford town centre by bus. Bus stop near Hotel.
Very quiet hotel; very nice personnel. There is a very large breakfast, with many choices and an a good quality. Wi-fi is free in the rooms.
Quiet yet easy access to Oxford city centre Dinner in restuarant for dinner was poor value
The staff were very helpful. The room was nice and i loved the bed. The signs for the toilets need to be changed, they are confusing. Guests need to be informed that if they want eggs for breakfast they need to order them, i didn't know untill it was to late.
The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly and did whatever they could to make our stay incredible. The location was perfectly convenient located just outside of downtown Oxford. The facilities were newly renovated and very comfortable. Nothing that comes to mind.
very comfortable surroundings. Staff very friendly and helpful.
the rooms were very clean and comfortable.we only stayed for one night so didnt see much of the hotel, would stay there again.
all of it apart from waiting 25 minutes for bar waiter to serve us after telling us to sit on lounges went to our room as above
Very good cleaning staff, reception staff and service in the bar; rooms were very comfortable and quiet The location - some way out of Marlow centre & not a pleasant walk. The restaurant was closed on the second night of our stay as there were not enough guests in the hotel. The breakfast is poor value at £16.95 - also extortionate to charge extra for espresso etc.
Nice and modern hotel, very friendly staff, breakfast buffet
Facilities, choice and long breakfast period.
Comfortable large room with good facilities. Could have done with more milk & tea bags, had to ask at reception for more.
The last minute rate - would not have been able to afford it otherwise No
Good facilities and very welcoming.
great atmosphere and fantastic service, the staff seemed like genuinely good people. The food was absolutely delicious.
Staff were really accomodating and helpful distance to walk into town or to train station, but taxis were easy enough to book and quick
The service and the swimming pool facilities i.e. sauna and steam room. Also the included parking was a bonus and the breakfast was lovely. Extremely good value for money
I loved this hotel and would like to return in the near future.
Good pool area Expensive drinks in the bar
everything was pretty much perfect! comfort, service, cleanliness and informtion....all faultless. food was a little too expensive and delivery charge for room service is totally unnecessary!
The staff were very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble especially the chef in the morning when we were having trouble with the pancake machine. The rooms were clean and large and the Housekeeping staff did a good job. The fact that you are charged so much for everything!! The food was really pricey although very nice. The internet charge is high. The bar prices were high. It was just so reasonable to stay but because of the expensive additions it made the price not so attractive in the end!! I would recommend the hotel but only for a one off treat!!
Very good room & good, albeit expensive, food. The 'Active' listing says parking is free. It is not; it is an expensive underground car park. Fortunately parking is free on the streets adjacent. Hopefully the local council won't, in future, shove double yellow lines everywhere?
Friendly staff. Very professional and accommodating. Room was done to high standards. Good value for money
Lovely environment, great breakfast None really
Close location to football stadium, very good service from the staff. Food was excellent. I received a letter to inform me £3.95 had been charged to my credit card for mineral water I had consumed in my room, which I never had and will ring Reading Hilton to let them know.
For the first time in a very long time, this hotel ticked all the boxes, clean, modern, helpful staff offering an individual service. Nothing, all good.
good atmosphere, helpful staff, good situation, quiet rooms, convenient parking andd straightforward billing arrangements. dim economy bulbs and cheap plastic glasses in the bathroom.
the car park and the fact that the room was fairly quiet. the bathroom was very small and the extractor fan was extremely noisy.
Its closeness to the centre of the city, its old world charm, and particularly the reception staff who were extremely helpful
very convenient location, pleasant surroundings, good breakfast no
Breakfast too expensive
Very comfortable room with good facilities
Location and nearness to labs and centre Room 64 washbasin waste lever needs attention
All things are very good. There is very quiet the bar is very nice to take a rest. When you feel tiere, the location of this hotel is a little bit far from the city center. But there is a very good transport of buses. It would be nice, if the staff tell custumers which numbers of buses you can take.
I enjoyed the comfortable room, though rather small for a double. The location is very good, just 10 mins into town on foot and several restaurants/pubs within 100 yards. The staff were friendly and reasonably helpful. The breakfast buffet was not too extensive. The cooked "full English" was unimaginative, the service slow, and unattentive, the food sometimes warm rather than hot...
Quiet room on the top floor of the hotel. Lovely comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. Friendly helpful staff. There was nothing we were unhappy with.
The pool, the grounds, the size of the room We had to complain about the bins in the room being full of rubbish and four dirty towels left in the room.
nice staff good meals
Beautiful location and surroundings. Lovely room. Short staffed and poor service in restaurant/bar, especially for breakfast, whcih was not great quality.
The hotel was very impressive and in a lovely location by the river. The staff were friendly and the room was nice and clean. The service for food at the bar was very slow and we had to chase them after half an hour. Not very good considering the price.
A very attractive modernisation of a series of old buildings at the core extending to modern wings containing bedrooms with the expected amenities. A rural, riverside setting within 3 miles of the city centre
courteous attentive staff good food lovely setting comfortable rooms.
Friendly helpful staff at reception, good leisure facilites, great location
Staff excellent, interior reception and lounge area very inviting.Grounds very well kept. Disappointed with bedroom, connoisseur ,for the price, also breakfast rather greasy.
The location, with the Thames at the bottom of the garden, is tranquil. The room was spacious and comfortable. The entrance hall/lobby was welcoming with an open fireplace. The breakfast was good and there was plenty of variety, although the juices were not fresh. The pool was small but nice. The bathroom was small. The food at the restaurant was bland (seafood linguine, mashed potato, salmon fishcakes were all tasteless). With many conferences taking place the hotel is noisy in the morning with doors banging. The staff on reception and in the restaurant were not particulary welcoming, nor helpful. The same annoying music was played on loop for the duration of our visit. For £150 per night we would expect much more and were very disappointed overall. There was no personal touch that you would expect in a hotel of this class. Needless to say we will to stay there again.
our room,was excellant,and what a stunning view.
The breakfast was great, and the spa Well the air conditioning in the room i think was bad, we asked several times for the staff to come and look at it they came once but they didnt come back again, The room wasnt cleaned on time, asked them twice to clean but no one came.
Modern well kept hotel and staff very attentive The price was a bit excessive considering the size of room
Having spent time here on previously occasions we new the standard and were pleased to say that they are as good as we expected. The reception staff are very welcoming and this time we had the time to stay for b'fast which was again a stress free experience. I do think that the b'fast at the full value is overpriced and that the offer price would be more in enticing if it was the norm rather than offer
Was within walking distance to most places, not having to get cabs all the time.
Plenty of room to relax, Had a geat evening, with very good meal which we all enjoyed, plenty to chose from, the staff in the restaurant & bar were very helpful excellent, In all a very good stay. would come again Was realey looking forward to the gym and swimming, but they were both closed, both disapointed about it
Tthe setting right on the Thames. I liked the idea of it not been easy to get to the rooms without a valid key card and made the hotel feel secure especially if you are a lone traveller.
The Sevice offered by reception staff and helpfullness was excellent
very comfortable hotel very relaxing none
The hotel was CLASSY with a capital C, great design, layout 7 level of clenliness. Have travelled the world a great deal & this would rate as in my top five!
The hotel is on the bank ot the river Thames with great swans. I liked it very much It was a little queue on breakfast. And there was only pork from meet (I don't eat it and haven't any choice)
friendliness of the bar staff no
Very helpful and friendly staff, eager to help and delive customer needs Bar prices were extortionate
It was local to where I needed to be There was a lot of noise from staff filling and emptying bins early in the mornings directly outside our room (approx 7:30 both mornings) The cost of drinks and refreshments at the bar/lounge where exspensive (£5.50 for a glas of wine!). I can see no reason why this should be so much more than a standard Bar/restarunt.
breakfast was good apart from cup of tea having floating oily bits. shower was cold in the morning so we complained to staff along with other couples in our group. Staff confirmed they had problems but did not offer any compensation or reduction in our bill. Also it cost £9.70 for 2 vodka and cokes.........ridiculous prices. Also hotel did not think we were entitled to breakfast as aprt of this deal but our voucher showed we were so they had to send 2 breakfast vouchers up to our room after checking with management.
We were attending a family wedding in Maidenhead. It was easy to jump in a taxi to the hotel from the railway station and within walking distance of the town centre. Good for families as the hotel has a swimming pool and a steam room & sauna for the adults. Good breakfast.
Room was clean View of the carpark. Long walk to room.
Location near lhr was very useful to us. Room was very comfortable. Check-in was a disaster, as we were not told where to find the room. We were told the room had two bedrooms, when we had booked two separate rooms. We eventually got our two rooms but it shouldn't have been so difficult after a tiring day.
It was close to the place we was dining at that evening. The fact that the room walls had stains on, the carpet had stains on, no proper ventilation to the room, it was under construction which was not mentioned to me before i went there!
new clean fresh
noisy, outdated, slow internet and stil wired access (despite high speed written in the room), minibar empty, TV not working, temperature too hot and unable to sort out. I will not come back to this hotel anymore in the future.
The decor was contemporary and of a very good standard. My room was very large, with a large bathroom as well. Very comfortable. Did not have an iron and ironing board in the room. I had to iron shirts in a reception room!
Staff were ecxellent and because of that the ambience was very good. Too often bad management sets up a caustic atmosphere, the ticking of boxes. A bit like your website, so how happy are your staff.
Small room - great for single person but bit squashed if for 2. Well equipped, well decorated. Lovely bathroom. Free parking. Delicious croissants from local patisserie. Orange juice at breakfast was very watery and didn't taste of orange. Would like a larger bath towel.
The staff are very helpful and pleasant and the hotel is on the main Banbury Road near a bus stop so is only about 10-15 minutes from the city centre. We were unlucky enough to have three very noisy guests staying in the hotel on the same night as we were. They "partyed" from 1am till 5am, obviously very drunk and out of control. Despite the hotel saying it had someone on duty 24 hours a day, when I rang reception there was no reply and the noise carried on unabatted. It was very difficult to work out quite where it was coming from as it's an old complicated building. The manager was very apologetic in the morning but I wonder if the "guests" were ever nobbled!
The staff were really welcoming and friendly - I couldn't have hoped for a better welcome. The breakfast area is lovely and the breakfast buffet offers good choice with really friendly staff. nothing, that I didn't like about this hotel.
The breakfast was a good standard. The room was extremely cramped.
Nice room and staff. Breakfast cut off time was too early on Saturday morning as was check out time. After a Friday night out would be nicer to end breakfast at 10 We missed it unfortunately. Room was very hot all night had to open window
Vast selection of choices for breakfast. Didn't like the burnt logs & ashes etc in the grate in the bedroom.
The staff were friendly, helpful and customer focussed, I received a phone call prior to my arrival to check on my arrival time for the purpose of placing a bottle of champagne in my room, very good service.
When i arrived i was given a Mini Suite at the price of a standard room
The general aresa were very good and so were the staff As the Hotel is 4 Star I consider hat the bedromms and the bathroom in particular were very poor. In fact probably no better than a Premier Travel Inn. I have stayed in a lot of Hotels of all shapes and sizes
The cleanliness of the room and the comfort of the bed
Hotel staff were very good and helped out by being flexible with our check in time .as we were attending a wedding ,they had the room ready early for us .
We had a fantastic stay. The staff were very helpful and polite. The room was huge and easily accommodated the five of us. We had extras such as the Club Lounge which was a lovely addition to our stay. We also used the leisure centre which was clean and another luxury during our stay. Nothing!
hotel very comfortable staff friendly excellent breakfast someone had clearly been smoking in the room we were originally given but as soon as we reported this there was no problem in changing to another room
It was relaxed but luxurious!
location and rooms were excellent also pool and leasure facilities were good. Mix up wilth payment. Payment was made in full when booked for all 8 rooms but my guests were then asked to pay again, very embarrassing and spoilt the weekend. The evening meal wasnot up to a good standard and very slow, our 2 course meal took 21/2 hours, not time for coffee. They were better at cooking breakfast.
Excellent service and comfortable room Extractor fan did not work efficiently in the bathroom. Noisy pipework carrying noise through early in the morning
The hotel still had a "new" feeling. The roads around the hotel were a bit confusing. GPS recommended.
i did not like any ! reception, house keeping , room seveses
the new environment and the nice bath, shower door tickets which don't work and are confusing
Very comfortable room and first-rate pool/gym facilities. I was surprised to have to pay extra for a cup of hot chocolate when I was already paying 15 pounds for breakfast. Also paying for internet connection is surprising in a hotel like this (it's free at the Pentahotel). Given the location allow plenty of time to drive to/from the centre given the traffic in Reading!
The rooms were comfortable and clean. We had a reservation for a family room, we had very young children with us and arrived at the hotel late night, we also had an additional two adults, our hotel policy stated that in familiy rooms additonal adults could stay at 35 GBP per person, the hotel staff refused to give us this price and instead they charge us for an another room for a total of 199 GBP, our children were
