Location perfect for Ayrshire coast. Staff friendly but possibly inexperienced. Need to sharpen up on service. Breakfast options not all available eg no granola!! /rooms clean and very pleasant. Upper floor bedrooms adequate but access could be difficult
Location, comfort, and the fact they really value their customer.
Leaving This is the noisiest hotel i have ever stayed in.
Superb hotel in an excellent location for wonderful scenery and all activities. Wonderful food. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Great value for money Not found one
Room was nice and clean. Food was lovely
There is no lift.
Clean and comfortable stay Couldn't find any
The staff were welcoming and very informative. The food was excellent, well presented and good value for money. Breakfast was ideal. Location was jsut right as we attended an event at Vikingar.
Staff very friendly and welcoming, nothng was too much trouble for them. Couldn't have been nicer. Food excellent and great value. Breakfast - too much to pick from. Rooms - roomy, spotless and very modern. Bathrooms - beautiful. Right on front and handy for everything. Hotel itself was very impressive - great parking, lovely frontage and everything looks new and modern. No bad points.
nice hotel not too far from home for a relaxing overnight
comfortable stay, friendly staff, excellent location, food at the attached 'Rio's' restaurant was excellent. would recommend to friend and would stay again.
Location Room was dated. could do with refurbish.
The staff were very helpful when I needed them and had no hesitation in upgrading us to another room free of charge. The breakfast as excellent with a very good vegetarian choice. The location was very central with most pubs and restaurants within walking distance. No designated parking spaces. The televison channels were very restrictive
Staff very friendly Booked a single room but it was extremely small wiyh just enough rom to fit a single bed, dressing table and chair in
well situated close to ferry and town and the tapas restaurant was good close to street and a bit noisy with the window open
Modern decor & large room Bathroom door hinge broken Needed brighter lights and couldn't find how to put them on Couldn't stay for breakfast in morning (cooked b/fast didn't start until 7.45 am) and continental range only consisted of cereal. (Coissants/rolls etc would have been good). That said, staff provided buttered rolls from prev day (today's were still unwrapped at reception). Catering staff in the morning looked very under pressure.
Noise from the main street late at night
The staff were freindly, and the resturant was fantastic.
views from hotel,decor nothing
found everything about the hotel to our satisfaction. only downside was the t/v was very high and found it uncomfortable to watch.
friendliness, food, location
Spectacular views from car park/dining room. Good wifi access. Relaxing. Difficult access up winding road. Room well appointed but dust evident.
.The hotel was very peaceful .There was molton brown body lotion etc in the shower room. I was disappointed in the size of the room. Also the full breakfast was not as big as I have had in other hotels although it tasted very nice.
The owner was lovely, made me and my dog feel welcome.
Very good, Nice staff, Good food, good breakfast, shower Okay None
liked it a lot and booked again, although may have said this on another questionere none
Proprieters couldn't have been any more helpful or welcoming. Dinner was very well presented and very tasty. Coffee taken later in the drawing room finished off the evening, relaxing in high, wing backed chairs. Not a modern hotel but quaint and comfortable.
We felt totally relaxed and were well looked after. Christine and Colin were very accommodating with dietary requirements and made us feel at home. There were no negatives. It ticked all the boxes
We had the most wonderful five days at Abbots Brae, the service was second to none, Christine and Colin made us feel very welcome. The meals were delicious and extremely well prepared and presented. We are definitely planning a return visit.
I was extremely happy with The Park Hotel. The staff were polite, friendly and very helpfull, nothing was to much trouble for them. The room was clean and comfortable and the food was very good. The location was second to none. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definatly be visiting again soon. n/a
The staff were excellent and very friendly Cleanliness of the bathroom was poor but this may be due to us arriving late without a booking request going through via Booking. com we were lucky they had a room and very gratefull
Staff were excellent made to feel very welcome, very friendly and very accommodating.Overall the hotel was very clean with lovely furnishings the room we stayed in was excellent couldn`t fault it at all, a great hotel. None
The Staff were fantastic, especially Beth who made sure we were happy throughout our stay. A wonderful friendly atmosphere and great facilities. I will be coming back for sure.
The staff were extremely helpful & the food was good The windows in room 15 need the seals replacing as the wind made a terrible noise during a stormy night
Excellent friendly and efficient staff Beds worn out and carptet in the bathroom is very Unhygienic. Carptets and soft furnishing were dirty and worn
Good breakfast The rain
peace and quiet, non interuptions, very friendly staff, great food, relaxing, good size room and ensuite, plenty of cuboard space, comfy beds, good size tellys, easy going, welcoming, lovely dinning area, towels and sheets spotless, room a little dusty, the fact the jacuzzi is small is not stated,
Room was lovely, everything you need for a few days away, breakfast was excellent and service was spot on
The only hotel found in the internet amoung sereral others found around the same area. Single room and rate is shown but only twin and double rooms are available. Querry of the sincereity.
Sandra and Mat were perfect hosts and went all out to make our stay a pleasure.
Wonderful views,quiet,very friendly. Nothing
Room very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Owners very welcoming and very willing to help.
Everything at the hotel was first class.Sandra and Mat were great hosts, very friendly made us feel right at home.Sandra had great knowledge of the area and always suggested landmarks for us to visit. No bad points
Central location with sea views
Friendly hotelier and wife. Comfortable room with built in shower and toilet facility, very quaint, thought it was a wardrobe at first. Beautiful view of the beach and the river clyde, I liked being right next to the beach with no traffic nearby just a private car park. The breakfast was wonderful apart from the greasy fried bread.
Excellent service and within easy walking distance of the town centre.
Hospitality, Friendliness of staff and room very clean nothing
We liked the position of the Hotel overlooking the Clyde great views. The Hotel was very warm, comfortable and friendly. The only thing was parking as there were 3 coaches at the Hotel every evening we were there.
there was a good, happy atmosphere. We thought we would be alone in the hotel, but with the various coach tours there were plenty of people and we enjoyed talking to them. the food was fine - just what the authorities imagine that British crumblies would want- however there might have been some fresh fruit either at breakfast or dinner.
The friendliness and courtesy of the staff
Good Location, spectacular views across the Clyde, only went b & b but breakfast service was excellent considering it was probably their busiest weekend of the year ( Cowal Gathering ) Room decor was a little tired and in need of a spruce up but certainly adequate for our needs
Very little. When we checked in, the lobby smelt of smoke. The room was very small & there was no bath in the ensuite.
The breakfast waitress was polite ,well mannered and knew how to serve yet be discreet.Loved the potted plants especially the Fuchsias. no. The lady at the desk when we arrived went out her way to get a twin room on the ground. The person I was accompanying was blind and unsteady on her feet.Thi was very much appreciated,
Friendliness of staff, breakfast in the morning was excellent. 1. Shower unit not very good, more of a hand spray. 2. Quantity of soap, only one small piece provided.
Location Poor quality of Bar Food. Tired and outdated decor.
Adequite for 1 night. Expensive for Largs. Shower/toilet was compact.
We had a nice stay at the Willowbank, the staff were very pleasant and attentive, the food was good and the bedroom was very comfortable, but a little more tea, milk, coffee and a biscuit would be appreciated. The bathroom needed an upgrade.eg., a new bathroom suit, safety rails on the bath and shower, and a few more toileteries., .I base my review on seeing what other hotels provide. These are my suggestions. Just the bathroom.
Room was comfortable plenty hot water Being above the lounge entertainent at night was noisy
The hotel staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. The hotel is very dated and could use a refurbishment.
Excellent service and not to formal. None that I can think of except break wasn't long enough to be able stay longer.
we only used the hotel for b & b and were satisfied with our stay no
Very curteous and helpful staff able to advise about local services well, clean rooms, excellent location None
The scenery from the balcony was beautiful The service at breakfast
Very friendly staff although the right hand does not know what the left is doing! The quality of the food was good. On arrival we were given a key to our room which was already occupied! The table number for dining changed about four times prior to having our first meal.
location, room was poor and needed a lick of paint, one pillow for each of us (a sunday news paper is thicker) breakfast was if it came from a burger van, as it was the Cowal gatthering hotels were scarse we paid £130 for one night b&b what a rip off, we complained to the hotel the next day and they would not give a discount.Never again, I will take a tent if this is the last hotel
Room was modern and comfortable. Parking was limited with a coach parked behiind cars. Hotel is geared for coach parties, rather than independent travellers.
Great staff very helpful. Clean rooms with nice decor. Breakfast was good but no black pudding! Not normal in a Scottish Hotel. Beautiful scenary in Dunoon, a quaint Scottish town which is a step back in time. Very small function room and dance floor not big enough for size of hotel. If having themed entertainment weekends hotel should think of reorganizing existing public areas and making a new function room on ground floor.
Cleanliness very high standard. Nothing!
The room was very nice, it had obviously been recently refurbished. It was clean and nice and warm. The tv was modern and had a good range of channels! Could,t get hot water for a shower! The lock was broken in the toilet! There were no biscuits to go with the tea and coffee! I found the staff very strange especially the waitress at breakfast. The breakfast menu was very poor, especially with young children. There was no flexibility in choice, considering the price you pay for bed and breakfast. In most other hotels you stay in in these modern times you can nearly always choose from a wide range if foods. On this occasion you were not allowed to have cereal and a fried breakfast, it had to be one or the other and when I asked for a poached egg on toast I was told that I could only have the egg on its own, with toast seperate. I almost got a telling of from the waitress for asking. If you want to attract families, you need to have more choice for kids. Porrige and alpen is just not Sufficiant! All the staff seemed to be unfriendly and old fashioned, like something out the 1950s. Not family friendly at all. I will not be going back to this hotel. Ever!!
An idiot laminated guide to use of the tv would be good
