Friendliness of the staff , pleasant surroundings & cleanliness of the accommadation. No.
the apartment was excellent far bigger than we expected, just a shame we were only staying one night
very restful had a good time to find room 48a which was round the back with no lights ie from the outside was very difficult in the dark.there was no number on the door
The rooms were 1st class and very well equipped. The grounds were lovely. We ate in the bar area and the food was very good. We had a problem with the hot water in our room but maintenance came straight away to fix the problem.
All staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was clean and spacious, and well equipped. Leisure facilities were excellent. It was an excellent value, enyoyable stay.
Excellent facilities, pool area is great, rooms very comfortable with everything you need. Excellent housekeeping. Information pack on arrival eas very good. Cromer itself is fabulous.
very nice and good value for money
The space in the 2 bed villa, and the amenities on site
The surroundings It is not clear in the hotel information that there are no tea and coffee facilities for guests who stay less than a week. This is not the case in any other hotel.
Everything was great, location, facilities and Cromer itself was fabulous. N/A
Quiet location,Well kept Grounds, Presentation of Food,Majority of staff polite and friendly.Good selection of table games in lounge area Ambiguity in presentation of items on Invoice,Upkeep of Grounds around "Cottage"area could have been better
happy relaxed efficient atmosphere
Very nice gardens overlooking the sea although we could not walk down to the sea shore directly from the hotel Our room was a bit on the small side overlooking the road which may be because we booked at the last minute and took the last room available.
Friendly staff The fitted bedsheet was too small and became untucked and wrinkled and therefore uncomfortable during the night. A wet towel left in bath for changing was just fished out of the bath and hung up by staff.
All staff were of great help during our stay.We both have disabilities and all the help we needed was given to make our stay really enjoyable. We would recommend the Driftwood room at Sea Marge Hotel to anyone with ms problems. No. We could not stay for as long as we would have liked.
A beautiful old fashioned hotel in a glorious location. Loved sitting on the terrace looking out at the sea, children had a great time running round the gardens and we were able to relax with a drink and watch them without worrying about their safety. Loved the old fashioned lift. Friendly staff, especially Aimee, a trainee, who was just lovely. Our only minor disappointment was that for some reason we were unable to connect to the WI-FI facility. We tried many different areas around the hotel and grounds to see if we could pick it up, but no joy!
We were made to feel most welcome, including the dog! Nothing was too much trouble. The lift, it could do with updating.
An sense of living in an era that has passed where the customer is important None
Building very interesting Good food, but service in restaurant could have been better.
The dining room and other public rooms were excellent. The hotel was very dog friendly, the only time I have been given dog towels. The staff seemed a little undertrained - so there were issues about the finer touches - for example the wrong name on booking confirmation and double not twin stated.
Breakfast No character and some staff not welcoming or friendly
Great sea view and good value breakfast reception not particularly welcoming
A good sized room and en suite, plenty of tea and coffee available and there was no problem at all having our dog with us. In all very very good.
During breakfast we were shown on each morning to a different table rather than be consistant and remain at the same table.
Very comfortable bedroom. Close to sea, town and bus routes.
Sea views. Close to town. Lack of parking facilities.
The location was great. The hotel itself was a bit tired but the the bed was very clean and comfortable.
The breakfast - choice was good including fresh fruit and the porridge was good. The full English was well cooked with good quality food (and the plates were hot and fresh coffee was good, always a good sign). And service was with a smile. One of the best breakfasts of any hotel. Well done. Parking in front was good. Location handy for pier theatre. The radiator in our bedroom (room 25?) was simply not up to the job. We wouldn't want to stay in it during really cold weather. For privacy reasons, net curtains were needed for this street level room. The TV was worryingly on the skew. The sink tap kept turning itself on (nice bathroom fittings though and well fitted). Room was a bit cramped, typical seaside B&B. Lounge/TV area/bar did not look very homely or inviting. Hotel not particularly attractive from outside - needs dressing up. (But at least the owners accepted issues and we were'nt fobbed off.)
We only stayed one night but we found it very comfortable and the staff very friendly.
The staff were always cheerful and there to help, and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere. No
The quality of the room was excellent. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was first class, the staff were friendly and if we are in the area again we would definitely stay there again.A Thoroughly enjoyable stay and I would recommend it to anyone visiting the Cromer area.
Friendliness of staff. Couldn't fault on cleanliness. Meals excellent, food piping hot, serving plates really hot. Sea within 5 minute walk. Central for both cliff top and promenade walks, and town.
Quiet location but walking distance for tennis club and town centre.Staff very friendly and helpful. Several options on breakfast menu.Outdoor garden seating area very relaxing. Creaky floor in bedroom could mean disturbances by guests in adjacent rooms.
Having travelled extensively in Europe and US in the last 35 years, I can honestly say, I have never experienced such friendliness and kindness in an hotel.
Made to feel very welcome & excellent food. Nice room
The hotel was beautifully furnished and looked as if it had had a fresh coat of paint that morning. The position was perfect, 2 minute walk from a park/gardens and the beach and shops. The heating in the room was excellent everything was relaxing and welcoming. N/A
Comfortable hotel in a quiet residential area, with a car park, yet within a short walking distance of the town and the beach. The staff were friendly and attentive and responded quickly to requests. I took my Mother for a short break, which she enjoyed, but she found the stairs a struggle. As the other guests were mainly older, retired people, an elevator would have been appreciated.
Excellent service and food - well worth the money No
Very good decorative order and friendly staff Lack of hot water pressure in shower
I just thought it was very pleasant, clean and efficiently run. The hotel was quiet -guaranteeing an undisturbed night's sleep. Breakfast was much better than the average hotel and dinner was very good.
Clean, good location, staff helpful The room was quite small. The evening meal was overpriced.
The hotel is very central, being near to rail and bus stations and is wonderfully-situated overlooking the sea. It is rare to find a hotel from this period still looking in good condition and well-suited to meeting today's customers' needs No; it was fine
Very convenient position for town centre and sea front
The Sea View The bathroom was cramped
The proximity of the hotal to the promenade and the spectacular sea views from the windows of our room No
Nice room with sea view.
The atmosphere of the Hotel was excellent as were all the staff. The food was amongst the best I have had in a Hotel, the whole expereience was most enjoyable and real value for money
Staying in a building that sets itself apart from the norm. Large stairway in reception, Breakfast in what appeared to be a former ballroom, stained glass windows.
My room was wonderful and luxurious and the hotel location is perfect. The staff were professional and attentive and the food excellent and portions huge. I would not hesitate to book the hotel again especially my particular room. A lovely hotel. Nothing, i loved it
The hotel was clean, the rooms a very good size, fantastic sea views, the staff very helpful and friendly. We stayed bed and breakfast and we had no complaints at all, On the last night we had a meal in the restaurant which was fantastic. Great place great holiday will be going back.
Friendly, convenient and comfortable Room was very hot (unavoidably)
Playing golf and relaxing in the facilities Not at all
Couldn't fault it.
Great location, great potential but... service was poor, very poor. At reception when you say 'hello my name is..'., the response is 'SO?!' Three light bulbs weren't working in the room, neither was the kettle. with a little effort it could easily be a very nice place to stay
Good location for a visit to family within the area, good value with an excellent breakfast included The hotel is begining to show its age a little, the room was comfortable enough for a single night stay but it really needed some tlc, the carpets were old and stained with bleach, the shower leaked and the bathroom window didn;t shut properly.
The room was very clean and comfortable. With excellent views of the golf course and sea. The breakfast was very good would have been better if they informed you at start that the hot breakfast is self service through the next room. No
Very friendly, helpful staff Pool out of use. Accommodation ( room 217) very 'tired' though comfortable.
It was central to all the areas I wanted to visit during my stay. From entering the lobby the hotel looks old but well maintained. Don't let this fool you. Our room was large which just ment there was more space the cleaners didn't bother to clean! An inch of dust on everything, brown net curtains hanging of every window. Spider webs hanging from every corner including inside all lamps. The carpet had so much dust and dirt on it i could not even tell what colour it used to be. The only thing the cleaners had done was to open the windows and I guess hope that a breeze would blow the dust and cobwebs away. Oh and just before we left the room my partner found a chocolate wrapper stuffed down the side of one of the bed side tables....The staff looked half asleep the whole time.
Staff very helpful and friendly. All rooms seem to have their own personality, which was nice! Gym looked good although we didn't use it. The pool was perfect temp! Although clean throughout some rooms/areas look a bit tired.
A very pleasent area very close to cromer. Breakfast was lovely. Unfortunately the pool was not open and this was one reason we stayed at this hotel, and we were not told about this until we arrived.
Welcome, service, room, breakfast Very minor - lights in car park all night shone through curtains
A very friendly atmosphere that made you feel welcome
The breakfast was excellent. Our room was extremely cold and therefore we were very uncomfortable. The heating did not come on until 5pm each evening and was only on from 7am - 9am each morning. We had ill fitted windows in our room which did not help.
Helpfulness and friendlyness of the staff Shower in room did not work even after complaining each day, windows have not been cleaned also had cobwebs on inside of bathroom window and mould. Very cold snap and radiator did not heat the room and came on to late in the morning. having paid extra to see the sea and pier from the advert the pier could not be seen because of the building in front.
sea view, comfy bed, old-school style, retro architecture and fittings hot water pressure v low, microwaved croissants at breakfast (you could so easily pop them in a real oven for a minute to crisp up)
The best bit about our stay was the food-very,very good. The only moan i have is that the room was very cold untill the heating came on at 5pm.
Attentive and very efficient staff. Lovely location.Gardens luscious with access to the Sherringham nt woods. Very comfortable room & big bed! Great food. Over zeslous service one evening when mobile phone and room key left on table + coffees moved to the bar when we had left the table for 3-4 mins to use the toilet! Long wait( 20 mins at least) for cream tea due to wedding reception in the garden. Tea served first and then scone/cream 20 + mins later!
I spent a few days at Dales as it is close to my sisters residence. I usually stay once a year, and have a very enjoyable time, friendly staff always willing to help
The quality of the room, a superior double, was excellent - it was spacious and very comfortable. The food was very good and well served. The 'musac' was rather repetitive with the same CD seeming to be played on a constant loop!
Friendliness and efficiency of staff. Public rooms, gardens and woodlands. Kitchen aimed a bit higher than it was able to achieve.
Quiet location and period style hotel Needs an upgrade of furniture, TV's etc
Staff were pleasant and friendly; atmosphere was relaxed and unhurried. Dining room attractive. Superior room with separate sitting area was very spacious and well appointed. Service of breakfast on second morning was so slow everyone in the dining room was complaining. Quality was poor compared with first morning - definitely the less experienced staff team on duty. Bed was very hard - had terrible back ache. Big irritation was constant background music which was not loud but grated after a short while and is totally unnecessary.
Outstanding establishment (room and grounds), friendly staff, dining experience was wonderful. Hotel listing under "Bed and Breakfast", had made the assumption breakfast was included in the cost but was additional.
The evening meal was lovely and the staf were very courteous and helpful. It was a beautiful setting. The breakfast was very poor. Limited in choice, food kept running out and had to ask several times for it to be replaced. The toast did not come - what a let down for a very good hotel.
The bedroom was comfortable and more luxurious than expected. They would do better to have a proper mini-bar in the bedroom. Overall it was expensive for what it was.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding (with exception of homemade biscuits!!) and worth the extra wait in service as it was all prepared fresh
The bedroom had a "tired" feeling about it.Our welcome was hardly enthusiastic. The food was ok but not cheap and very British in that the was too much on our plates. On the contrary our braakfast "welcome" was very good as was the meal and its value for money. We felt the place had potential but needed a bit of decorating
evening meal was good rather old fashion could do with redecorating and up dating
reasonable food room a bit dated in decor and fixtures
It was confortable and people were very helpful and nice
Quintessentially English hotel in a quiet village with restful atmosphere. Good room, superb food, lovely lounge and attentive staff. Particularly suitable for older visitors who like good old fashioned charm and bath instead of shower, like me!
People at the hotel very kind
Polite personnel. A good breakfast The hotel is in a bad state of disrepair and this was reflected in the state of the room which, although clean, had broken curtain fittings which seemed to have been in that state for some time.
Food was excellent
Very good food. Staff extremely helpful. Some upgrading would not go amiss.
Surroundings and staff were excellent, also the food Lack of shower in bathroom
The room, Chestnut which had a four poster, was stunning and the surrounding woodland made this hotel ideal for a romantic getaway.
The peace and quiet Nothing really
The exceptionally friendly staff, the idillic setting, and the very good food served.
the layout of the whole area, private and secluded, a very romantic setting. no
Very rural and away from the clutter of towns & populated area. Countryside beautiful with various walks to woodlands etc. Fairly close to the Norfolk coastline and good for touring the coastal villages. Wasn't impressed with the food quality served up in the restaurant during the evening. Very bland and deterred us from eating there on second & third evening. Breakfast was excellent, good variety and selection accompanied with good service. Shower in bathroom had a poor flow. All these comments were passed on to the staff at Felbrigg on our departure. We thought we booked the four poster Chestnut suite for 3 days but we were given an alternative room without the four poster!
Staff and very friendly atmosphere
First class accomodation
A wonderful experience,The room was just lovely. Breakfast 1st class.Highly recommend This is not a complaint, however, I did feel for the class of the place the reception was very Heath Robinson, untidy, not a good impression, concidering the rest of the establishment is superb.
The proprietor was very helpfull and the food was really excellent The Hotel stated that you had hairdryer,cd,dvd and bath robes there was none of these and the tv could not be watched as reception very poor because of all the trees
Very peaceful area and charming suite with a log stove made it a weekend to remember. We got upgraded from the chestnut suite, which was a bit unfortunate because we had wanted the four poster bed- but the suite we stayed in was very nice. Access road could do with levelling- mind you i do drive a sports car so felt every bump!
The informality was pleasant. The Owner was a very kind person who obviously wished to make sure my visit was comfortable in all respects. Her breakfast was fantastic. a pity I was not able to eat everything that was available - due to a personal dietary situation!!! The price was very high for a Guest House. my booking had been made in advance through Booking.com. I am sure that their commission was very relevant in the high pricing.
Comfortable, clean, friendly, wonderful breakfast! My stay was too short!
A secluded room with a garden terrace. Means of access to room was poor.
Earlier booking-in than advertised. Peace and quiet. Tea pot in the room, a facility that is beginning to die out even in some so called top of the range hotels. None
Pleasant owner of guest house and good breakfast the bath towels were too small would prefer bath sheets and better chairs in bedroom
