Excellent hotel for a quiet, relaxing stay. Good for reading and pool and a base for exploring the north end of the island. It is a long way from anything but not really remote. They have a shuttle service to the mile away beach and small town.
We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in Barbados. We arrived on Monday June 2, 2008 and fell in love with the Island and with our hotel the Sugar Cane Club. We were able to stay in a one bedroom with small kitchen and living room for the price of most hotel rooms. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and the weather was great. We did not rent a car I was concerned with driving on the left side and the narrow roads in Barbados. Next time I will rent a car. The staff was very helpful. They drove us to town several times. We were able to buy groceries and one day we rode the public bus to Bathsheba. If you go to Barbados make sure you see the beach at Bathsheba it is awesome. The bus ride was $1.50 bds (75 cents US dollars). My wife didn't want to come home. The pool area and grounds are beautiful. Flowering trees and plants everywhere. The sunsets are spectacular. The hotel is not on the beach but you can see the ocean from the restaurant. My wife enjoyed the spa onsite. It was a good vacation.
The Sugar Cane Club sits on a hill overlooking a grove of royal poinciana trees and the Atlantic Ocean. The beach and Speightstown are too far too walk, but there is a free shuttle every two hours during the day. The hour-glass shaped pool is long enough for lap swimming, and a kiddie pool keeps little children who want to splash out of the way of adults who want to swim The ''rooms'' are actually small apartments. They are newly and tastefully refinished. The kitchen is well laid out and has a full-size refrrigerator and both a range and a microwave. I thought the restaurant was overpriced, so we cooked all but 2 of our meals. The Sugar Cane Club's shuttle picked us and our groceries up at the super market in Speightstown. The weekly manager's cocktail party is a great time to get to know the owner/manager and one's fellow guests. Natalia, the daytime desk clerk, is patient, helpful, and knowledgeable. Fitness room is the best I have ever seen: everything works!
Stayed for business, but would go back again on a personal trip as well. Great property, great staff, tucked up in the hills of NWest Barbados. Views of the ocean from your balcony. Rooms are very spacious and a really good value. Serene. Little kitchenettes are perfect for breakfast and lunch. Staff is very friendly, our stay here was more like visiting friends. Very casual, very comfortable. Property is in the midst of completeing a nature walk through the grounds that will be fantastic. But in the meantime, they have a complete gym and racquetball court. And a cute little art gallery if you want to buy some local paintings. Recommend renting a car as property is close to the highway so it is easy to get around the island without having to get stuck in W.Coast/Bridgetown traffic.Easy drive to great local restaurants.
The staff and owners were overly accommodating, even giving me a ride to a local medical clinic for a non-emergent issue. The property was just lovely, very quaint with a local flair. You received a drink of choice upon arrival and all staff (and even some locals hanging at bar/ restaurant) were very very friendly. Look forward to staying again the next time I am passing through Barbados!
We stayed for 2 weeks. The hotel was much nicer than we had expected. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The room was great lots of space to unpack for a 2 week stay. Lovely view and great beach. Thank you Coral Sands
The view from the balcony is to die for!! We stayed on the 3rd floor of this 4-story hotel and had a wonderful view. The location is good if you are looking for something near restaurants and bars that you can walk to, but far enough away to not hear it. Be sure to walk down the beach to Carib Bar & Grill--Great moderately priced casual beachfront restaurant. I only have 3 complaints: 1. They only had 5 beach chairs available (for a hotel with 36 or so rooms, that seemed like a very small amount). 2. All the pillows on the beds smelled like a mildewy towel. I had to smell all of them to find just one that didn't make me gag. But it was hardly something to complain about. 3. No free Internet. The rooms were immaculately clean--huge bath area with double sink and walk-in shower. The hotel staff is very friendly, like all Barbadians we encountered. We loved the full kitchen. Be sure to go the grocery store down the side street from the one on the main street. The one on the main street is really expensive and hardly offers anything. Breakfast on the balcony every morning was the best! The white buses that go down the main street take you just about anywhere you need to go for $2. Don't be afraid to take them, the entertainment in them are truly a great experience.
We truly enjoyed the Accra Hotel. The location is great! We were steps away from the boardwalk. There are stores and restaurants in the immediate area. Transportation was 100 steps away. This hotel is very convenient. The housekeeping staff was very efficient. The grounds were well kept. It was truly a good experience. The beach was perfect We didn't care that much for the food and it was a little pricey.
The hotel was quite aged. The room the put me in seemed very old. The ac was not working properly and it had a view of the dirt lot next door. When I checked my reservation I realized I'd actually paid for a room with a balcony and this did not have one so I called down to the front desk, they did not seem happy about this call but when someone came back they said they had a room for me. So they put me in a smaller room on the first floor, facing the street, but it did have a working ac and a balcony. Just not what I was expecting for the rate I paid! Everything seemed old, worn down and dingy.
The hotel is located on one of the best beaches in Barbados and there is beach-side food and drink service for guests. We loved hanging out at the swim-up bar in the afternoons and the bartenders are very attentive and knowledgeable. The front desk staff was very helpful with coordinating taxis and tours. The hotel itself is a little run down/outdated. The lounge chairs by the pool are mildewed, the paint at the swim-up bar is chipped/peeling, and the tiles throughout are a bit dated. Also my friend Cari used the spa one day for a facial and said it was good/fair, but she had an entire second day of massage, manicure and pedicure that was cancelled on her without notice. She had asked to just re-schedule the massage for another time/day and instead all of the services were cancelled. When she tried to re-book them, she was told there was no one there to do the services. Not sure if the spa techs are just on call or what? The spa seems to be disorganized and poorly run. Also $70 US for 2 people to eat at the buffet seemed high for the quality.
The location was perfect as a over night stay after our cruise.the front desk was on top of things, right down to making sure we had a taxi at 5:00AM to take us to he airport. Nothinh
Hotel was substandard. Guest services was helpful with information but hotel is old and not well maintained. Free activites listed on website were not available as described. Hard to get person to book this with. Pool closed at 6:00 so not swimming/Beach access was locked up at 7:00 so not able to stroll along the beautiful beaches. Drinks are in 4oz cup so didn;t feel like I was being catered to or even on vacation- no drink hotesses either. Would recommend Hotel next door - Boungavilla hotel! Food was bad even though it was included would have rather gone to restaurants. Music plays till 11:30 each night so unable to sleep. Rent umbrellas, deposit for towels - front desk only open till 6:00 - all is all it was an uncomfortable hotel if you want to be pampered or even general service. Hot water 50/50 chance of getting. Location is good. Beach is great! That's about it!
My husband and I recently stayed at barbados beach club and had a great time. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the food was pretty good too. The hotel itself is clean although the rooms could use an upgrade in decor. All in all we cant wait to go back.
It was me and my wifes first trip to Barbados and we stayed at the Barbados Beach Club. It is a beautiful hotel on the beach and the staff are very friendly. The location is perfect and the hotel is very nice. We loved it and would definately consider returning.
MY HUSBAND AND I STAYED AT BARBADOS BEACH CLUB THIS SEPTEMBER FOR OUR 2ND ANNIVERSARY!! WE ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT IT AND WANT TO GO BACK NEXT YEAR! THE STAFF WAS AMAZING THE ROOM WAS EXCELLENT AND CLEAN THE FOOD WAS GREAT AND IN GENERAL AN OVERALL WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY!! THE PEOPLE OF BARBADOS WERE SO FRIENDLY AND WE ALWAYS FELT WELCOME. NOT SATISFIED,hotel room stinks, bath tub was so small i could not take a bath, not enough wash cloth, towels was lod and dingy

This was my first trip to Barbados and it was awesome. I stayed in this hotel with a couple of friends and we had an excellent experience. The staff was friendly and very accomodative and the food was good. The rooms were really comfortable ideal for families, groups and couples alike. I would recommend it for vacationers who are looking for value for money.
This hotel is run down and nothing like what is advertised. The hotel staff was friendly, only because they are threatened by their SLUM LORD owner who is a real piece of work. The ammenities were terrible and the food was discusting. No hot water for 4 of the 7 days we were there,,when we complained,,,He (SLUM LORD) called us liars. The pictures advertised for this place are old, and show it when it was new. The maintenance is terrible,,it's run down and falling apart. Please DO NOT STAY HERE,and waste your money like we did....spend the extra money...and stay at the HILTON.
The Hotel is run down and not well maintained at all. The pictures on the advertisement are NOT what it looks like. The food is terrible and no hot water for showers. Hotel and staff not very friendly or willing to make it an enjoyable stay. Please do not waste you're money at this place like we did, spend the extra money and stay at a better place!!!!!!
Location, scenery The restaurant was closed
The facility was very clean and the grounds well maintained. I was pleasantly surprised at the state of the apartment that we stayed in, my 18 year old son and myself. It was in very good condition and quite comfortable. BREAKFAST WAS GREAT!!! The entrance driveway was a bit rough and bumpy and the parking area was completely undone. It would be great if they at least paved the parking area.
I liked how the staff is 100% dedicated to helping you have the greatest vacation. They even got me a rental car at the last minute! Very friendly. The view is absolutely spectactlar. The Wifi leaves something to be desired. It was only availible outside my room (I had to go to my porch) or go down to the pool.
Overall the stay was enjoyable, but it would be more convienent if the rooms had WI-FI capabilities or internet access and you did not have to drag your laptop down to the rec room and pay the 5BB dollars per day for daily internet connection.
For experienced travellers to Barbados, who want moderate rates without sacrificing quality, the Plum Tree is the perfect place. It is nestled in the bucolic, manicured setting of Rockley Golf Club and close to the best beaches and hotels Barbados has to offer. It is safe, clean, quiet. It is simply a treat!
Condos were a little out of the way, however transportation was provided. We had a late flight and thankfully had our transporter stop us by KFC or we would have been starving. There are no close restaurants or stores. The place was lovely, but one night the weather was muggy and the mosquitos came out, there are no screens on the windows or sliding doors and no AC in the general area, only the bedroom. If you are a little adventerous and want a cozy place to spend some quality time, this is the place for you. If you need convenience and proximity to EVERYTHING, you might want to look elsewhere. Definitely should rent a car if you stay here. We did not since we were not comfortable with driving on a different side. Housekeeping came everyother day which was adequate and they did a spotless job cleaning.
The hotel is beachfront, nicely laid out, comfy, clean. It does not protect the guests from taxi overcharging - the only country I've been to (and I've been to many) where taxi fare from the airport to the hotel is cheaper than from the hotel to the airport!! Taxi overall is expensive, and there are no cheaper alternatives for families. Ocean waves were all the time too choppy to swim. Hotel could use renovation.
Very relaxing, every night they have some events to entertain. Staff are all lovely and kind but not too disturbing. Also it is very clear it cares about environment which is the best thing I see in such a resort island. Bed cover (top duvet and pillow) are not washed ages and smell bad. Hope they can clean it more often.
They have two resturatants. The Waters Edge is the best restaurant on the island. There other restaurant is possible the worst. You have to request a room that you like. they will try to put you in room that has no view. so just simply request better room and they will review vacancies and put you in wonderful room. This is not a complaint but just heads up.
relaxing all rooms close to the beach n staff very helpful need another restaurant that is high end
The beach was perfect - and the staff were very friendly.
Pleasant staff, quick and efficient service, nice beach. The restuarant had very ordinary offerings re food...water's edge is deff not as advertised...food very ordinary and appears to be made in advance but the staff very pleasant and good service.
Really friendly staff, good amenities and nice location
We just returned from a trip to Barbados and thoroughly enjoyed the Bougainvillea Beach Resort. This was our second year visiting the resort and we found the room, service and staff to be excellent. The resort is ideally located near St. Lawrence Gap and has beautiful grounds and views of the ocean.
One receptionist, Katrina, was quite above average. Fast and friendly. For a three hours longer stay in the room on the day of departure I had to pay 75 US dollars. The hotel was not fully booked though!!!
beautiful grounds, great beach, wonderful room the bed was terrible, way too hard. We were ready to bring our family reunion there until we slept on the the bed.
Climate, resort, friednliness:) Balcony and balcony doors were not clean.
The place was very clean and well-equipped with a stove, fridge, and microwave. It was very spacious, had a balcony overlooking the pool. It's about 5 min walk from a little beach cove or a cliff overlooking the water. Only 10 min from the airport. It's far from Bridgetown, so not ideal if you don't rent a car. Bus service is pretty good in Barbados and the bus dropped me in front of the hotel
Clean, food was really good, the owners are lovely, has a sink, stove, microwave and refrigerator, area is very quite, beach is only a five-minute walk. Nothing.
I was so suprised and thrilled that we selectresd this hotel. It is a wonderful place and even has a Spa, the staff are exceptional, food excellent and unexpected for an all inlcusive. The room was tasteful, very comfy bed and the view of the blue water a treat....can't wait to go back. if you are unsure....pick Waves, you will not be dissappointed.
The accommodations were like new. The kitchen had everything we needed. The view is great. The Beach View has two wonderful pools and a beautiful beach is just across the road. The Beach View is a little far from the airport (the hotel arranged for one of their preferred cab drivers to meet our late evening flight), but otherwise well located. It is on a main busy street and local buses ($1 US) are frequent and provide a memorable ride to Holetown or Bridgetown. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. There are several very good restaurants within walking distance and others a short bus ride away. The staff happily made reservations (recommended) for us. I can't say enough good things about this place, and we are eager to get back to recapture that Barbados feeling.
The room was huge (since it was an apartment) and well furnished. Full kitchen was great for quick breakfasts, which we ate out on on patio. Laundry was very welcome, so we could rinse and dry our bathing suits and beach towels (supplied by the hotel) every evening. Staff was very friendly and helpful, booking us excursions, dinners and a rental car. Highly recommend the Beachview.
The Beach View wasn't exactly what we were expecting, but in the end, we were extremely pleased with the whole experience. Our major complaint, and something we had not read about in any of the reviews we read, is that the hotel is right on a busy road. When we went to Reception the next morning to complain about the noise, the hotel staff went out of their way to accomodate us. Natalie and Carrie in the office were so friendly and helpful in booking a car for us, making dinner reservations, etc. The breakfast staff was also extremely fun and friendly. The suites are huge and really nice with great patios. The proximity to the shopping and restaurants in Holetown is perfect. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Beach View. We will definitely be back.
