It has a grand entrance/lobby and overall is a nice hotel. The bed was super comfy, the garage was well lit and felt safe, and the view was amazing (9th floor with city/water view). Bathroom was nothing spectacular, but felt clean. There was old gum on the carpet in front of the bathroom door and next to the bed, ew. The pool area was super depressing, didn't use it once because of that (stayed 5 nights), needs a complete remodel. There's an additional charge for parking and WI-FI.
I want to commend Gary, one of the van drivers for helping me with directions, he seemed to know what I needed before I did. Thoughful and considerate
Compliments to Thedia at the front desk. Very kind and welcoming.
Everything was good but to pay parking wen you are staying there i never pay parking staying in the hotel my first time Did not know if i did not walk in the room in white socks how dirty was gest it better hard wood floor to clean o shampoo de rooms because vacuum it not only for cleaning at lest one every 6 month thad just me
The experience was invisible, just the way I like it. I didn't have to "deal with" anything. Everything was taken care of. Breakfast buffet was a little bit of a rip-off. After saying "yes" to coffee, anything ordered other than the buffet seemed not worth it. Buffet items listed on the menu were not available once you commit to the buffet (smoked salmon, bacon).
Clean, Comfortable rooms , comfortable beds Not within walking distance to the downtown area.
Nice atmosphere, pool is good, friendly staff The high amenities fee, the noise of the local train, room was old.
Pay for parking Not enough parking Pool closed for private event Overcharged and had to get refund (still working) No microwave or fridge in room. Had to get access to club room
The food was great , and the hot water was good No Ac , didn't work well at all . The tub drain was very slow I stood in water while I showered . Beds were a bit to lumpy , hard. Didn't sleep well in the room at all , to warm 73 % .
never got to check in...arrived sunday instead of sat.
Like the pool , lobby and room the view. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly. No fridge in room. Wasn't able to charge any of our phone.
Parking is confusing
Quiet and comfortable room for 2 adults and 2 children. Good breakfast at hotel restaurant. Noisy atrium on weekend even late into the night. Out-dated pool area.
It was noisy. Rolling cleaners and guest luggage in the hallways. Our key did not work and the engineer had to come. he was nice.
Centrally located for our purpose; nice lobby area for meeting/conversation; helpful staff, convenient, moderately-priced parking; clean, well-appointed rooms No complaints
better mattress and pillows than i have had at marriott and hampton as of late. Hotel is under construction and has no bar or restaurant as indicated. the room only had sheers not room darkening curtins, not a huge problem as i was faced across a roof. they told you to pay at a machine the $10 for parking garage but it opened without showing the reciept. bathroom was beat up but functional
The friendliness and service of the staff was excellent and the room very clean and spacious. Very good.
The location is good, the parking garage facility , comfort, was good We went at 11.30 pm and the receptionist response is okie not impressive and there is micro oven in the room. the carpet looks old in the room.
The stay could be overall satisfactory. I love the location and the hotel looks great! A lady wakes me up early in the morning, while clearly I turned the do not disturb key on. And by 9 am it was impossible to continue to sleep because someboddy was shouting loudly spanish songs while cleaning the room next door. These are what ruined the stay for me.
Staff were super helpful and courteous. Price was way less than half of what it would have cost us in NYC. Train to NYC was 45 minutes and hotel has free shuttle to train station. Bathroom door was very squeaky but they fixed it quickly and were genuinely concerned with guest comfort. Sound proofing between rooms not super great but still overall very good experience.
Room was comfortable. Being charged for parking at the hotel's own parking lot. A not so subtle tactic for padding charges for the room. Reminds me of the tactics of cellular companies that dream up an assortment of additional charges to the stated price of service.
It was a decently priced room close to the city, the hotel looked really fancy. The whole experience was weird, you have to pay to park in a parking garage that's attached to two hotels, the lobby is huge and inconvenient. One of the staff was really rude to my wife when she asked for some silverware, and for some strange reason they held an additional $30 for an accommodation fee which we were never told about. It's not a really big deal but the room didn't have a fridge which was a little annoying.
The location, awesome bed and bedding, and my favorite the awesome water pressure in the shower!! The space is wide open and was confusing as I entered. The front desk to the right was matter of fact looking kind of none descript. Felt like I was at an airline check-in counter than a high quality hotel and conference center. The back revolving door leading to the parking garage was not high quality and the rug was filthy. The ground in the garage was filthy and there was conference room props, tables, etc in the car garage that made the place feel dirty! The fake would flooring on the bedroom was noted but the room was clean. The TV menu selection screen was awful!
Breakfast wasn't included
Can only say perfect
Love the warm chocolate chips on checkin. Excellent mattress. Hallways have bad odor and look worn.
Hilton Honors floor. Restaurant was good. I didn't have the buffet like most guests. The kitchen made me a custom omlet and did a good job.
fitness room comfy king bed shower good pool area - dingy
Good staff, clean comfortable updated rooms.
Front desk staff was very helpful and polite. Hotel was a little worn down, bed pillows were terrible. There was a lot of noise from a group of people yelling and partying in the hallway late at night and we also were in the room next to an unruly individual and ended up with hotel security coming up to defuse the situation. Please see email that I previously sent this morning. We would never use this hotel again.
Easy modern clean Parking is tight
Nothing Went there for the pool for the kids. Was closed. They never offered to call when it opened
I didn't like the heater in the room was very noisy and the chair in the room was dirty
The indoor pool Paid a lot of money for really nothing. The room was nice but that was it.
Saw Kurt angle The showers were a little strange.
Bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever stayed in. Room was large, comfortable and beautiful. Staff was awesome. The shower is a HORRIBLE design. It has a fixed glass wall that covers half of the opening. The controls are under the shower head, so you have to stand inside the shower to turn it on. Seriously. I have long arms, but couldn't reach the controls without being in the shower. No avoiding getting wet in the process, no way to adjust the water before you do so. I first was shocked with freezing cold water. I then was scalded with blistering hot water. It was only a moment before I got it adjusted, but By then, my flesh hurt. And because the shower is enclosed with a fixed glass wall, halfway, the floor got flooded with water.
Nice room, comfy bed. Clean room. Nice lobby and halls and TV. Good location. Shower drain was blocked. One of two employees was not very polite or helpful (checking in), second of two employees was nice (checking out). Pool was dirty, water low. Loud children in the halls.
It was clean and friendly Check out time should be 12
Hotel Zero Degrees has a great location, helpful, friendly, and professional staff, deliciois breakfast, and clean, modern rooms. It seems to be a well cared for, updated building with nice decor. As others have mentioned, the walls here are quite thin. Staying here on Valentine's Day presented a symphony of noise through the walls on all sides. Also, like many hotels, the heat/AC left me bone dry by morning.
nice decor, good location No window on room, only one soap bar, uncomfortable bed and pillow, YMCA exercise music at 6AM, difficult parking lot
Cozy stay. Close to lots of restaurants, bars, shops. The breakfast wasn't so great. I really dislike fake eggs.
They were friendly the rooms were clean and we weren't bothered all weekend They had one small elevator for the entire hotel and it was unbearably slow. Then if you went to take the stairs they were filthy.
Party Central. Music playing all night. Apparently unsupervised children in the room next to me, while the parents hit the bars. The room itself was average, sort of a mix of honeymoon suite and no-tell motel vibe. The lighting in the bathroom was very dim, and the shower (sized for two, no tub, low water pressure) had an awkward layout. The website makes no mention of fact that parking is available or how to access it. By the time I got to the desk and learned that there was parking, I had already paid to do so at the public garage next door. When I turned in my key, the desk clerk ask how my stay was. "Fair". "Oh, that's great!"
Close to downtown Small room.
Comfort, cleanliness, accommodating, friendly and breakfast was very good Can't think of anything
Staff was very friendly and let us do a late checkout. There was barely any parking for the hotel. Caused a big inconvenience because parking is limited. Wish we knew that before we got there.
Ease off comford No
location, morning coffee and paper. Free WIFI Quick snack to go. Stale or not available.
The room and the entire building were amazing. Super friendly staff. Great prices and atmosphere. Will be going back again.
I bought this hotel in general was very nice. Everyone was friendly, the hotel and rooms were very clean. The design was great. Wifi worked, TV choice was good, free flavored waters were a nice touch, and outside and inside lobby seating areas were nice. I prioritize coffee and comfort over exercise. The lack of free coffee in the morning was a bummer. I almost died when they told me how much the coffee was. My wife ran down the street to McDonald's to grab 3 more for my family. The food offerings were gimmicky healthy and expensive. Ie kale chips. While staying fit is nice, the room was definitely geared towards working out. If you also like comfy reading chairs, those were removed so you had more exercise space. as I said, liked the hotel but if you aren't an exercise freak than maybe these small things will also annoy you.
All of the staff were very acomidating, and nice. The hotel was clean, new, convenient, and perfect for a health conscious person. The gym and in room supplies were perfect if you were away from your home gym Everything was great
Excellent mattresses Severe minimalist decor. Not a place for families with kids.
The room was so clean and the king bed was so soft. The shower was nice, plenty of hot water and good water pressure. I wish there was a bathtub.
It was simply a stop over on a longer driving trip. Satisfactory, but not great. Not well maintained--looked very tired and in need of better maintenance.
Beds They room keys
Nice looking rooms, exactly what I needed. Great price. Coffee machine was broken. Ants in cupboards.
I was cut off mid-sentence (once we had been in dialogue about where to get food) by a front desk staffer because another guest (from a wedding party) came after from a conference room with a problem. I thought it was rude and I felt like the wedding party guests were held as a higher priority.
attended a wedding no
We loved the bed - so comfortable, and the rooms were really nice.
The spaciousness of the rooms, the furniture, the parking, early check-in We didn't get the room that was advertised for the price! There was no refrigerator, microwave, robe, slippers and the pay per view movies did not work for 48 hours!
Location and it was clean
The bed was not comfortable. Since my husband is heavier, I slept "rolling" to the center. Very stressful on the body. Responding to the next question, this is the only "upscale" hotel/motel in the area. That said, there was a problem with hot water in the shower being consistent. It was unpleasant having the water "dying out" to cold several times over the course of the shower. The shower heads were cheap and sprayed water into a wide circle, therefore not much water reached ones body.
The staff were super attentive. The rooms were beautiful and the beds really comfortable. Great location right off of 84. My only complaints is that I like a cold room to sleep in and I didn't like that the AC would shut off in the middle of the night, couldn't keep the fan to stay humming all night it would go off intermittently, so hard for a light sleeper.
The lounge, and the peacefulness of the hotel
It was big enough to accomodate nicely, a large group utilizing many rooms. Reservations were made for a Double Suite because we were told it contained two beds. We were given a King Suite on our arrival which has one bed. We were not informed beforehand, and were told at the front desk there was not a Double Suite available.
Location convenient to Charles Ives Center Do not disturb means "do not disturb" ...first day housekeeping called to ask if we wanted rooms made up. If we did, we would have put the tag on the door. The second morning we wanted to sleep until checkout. The phone rang at 8:30. I didn't answer it. Front desk said it wasn't them. Nobody had my phone number. I'm betting it was housekeeping calling to see if we were checking out. Annoying!
location The floor had a large stain on it. The food was very poor. My door would stick causing me have to push on it very hard to open or close it. I did not have a room service menu in my room. The service buttons on the phone in the living room area did not work so I had to dial zero and ask the operator to direct me to different services.
We stayed at the Ethan Allen hotel twice while we were traveling recently. We absolutely loved everything about it. The staff were very welcoming and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The rooms are nicely decorated with Ethan Allen furniture. The beds are to die for and are comfortable beyond belief. Our room even had a Keurig which made us feel right at home and certainly beat the standard hotel coffee pot. We will definitely stay at The Ethan Allen hotel whenever we are in Danbury, Connecticut.
The room was very nice and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. The room service and food was great.
This hotel does a nice job with a very tired building. Great lobby, beds are comfortable. Staff is very helpful and friendly The building is a bit long in the tooth. Peeling wall paper in the hallways, floors that are not level, etc, etc.
the beds the room ahh
Attentive service - we requested a crib at check/in and it was in our room when we got there. Breakfast was extensive. The walls were very thin, we heard any water running next door, and all the noise from late arrivals outside our room.
Generally my room was in dire need of a facelift. The sink faucet in the bathroom was loose as was the molding on the floor. The refrigerator barely kept thing cool.
Good location, close to Jennings Beach. Friendly staff. Bathroom had a slight "sewage" smell. Wi-Fi was spotty. Room was very dark, not enough lights; but if I had the blinds open, people could look in.
Clean, updated rooms with a relaxed feel & decor. Everything functioned properly and amenities were good. Very nice lobby/gathering area. Friendly 'family' atmosphere and staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will use again.
staff 2 fire alarms in middle of night
helpful staff, great breakfast, convenient location to our son's new apartment..easy to find off the highway. Our son recommended this hotel as our first night at another hotel was awful! there was a swim meet somewhere in Norwalk Conn. so many families stayed at the Hilton. Parents left their children unattended in the evening as the kids ran thru the hallways making noise and slamming doors till after midnight. Repeated calls to the front desk made little difference. there wasn't much they could do. Also, a small fire in the kitchen Monday morning at 8 am ..we had to get out of the hotel and stand outside for half an hour. We were on the second floor.. the stairs were hard to find, there were no signs in the halls...good thing there was no smoke in the hallways
Nice property situated near Stamford Town Center mall. Lots of local night spots, close to the train and I95. Convenient for work locally, going to the city or even a Yankees game.
Had a bad experience with hotel from the very beginning. Waited an hour to be picked up at the train station. If it had been earlier and if I had known my way around, I would have walked it. The room looked very comfortable and beautiful. However, the sheets were stained and towels were old looking. The neighbors across the way were noisy. The icing on the cake was the bed bug; not 'bedbug' just a regular bug on the bed. Not a roach either. Not sure what kind of bug.
I thought this was a beautiful property. ..but little did I know it gaf bed bugs! I started to notice bites maybe 2 days after I left there. I cant prove I got them there but come on.... coincidence? Hmmmmm. Oh and when u called the front office manager she rushed me off the phone. Smh.
I have stayed at this Marriott many times before and always find the staff to be very friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable. We ate at Northern Lights and the waitress was delightful and the food delicious. I love the shuttle service to the train station as well.
Hotel located within walking distance to mall, restaurants and move theatres. Comfortable room with king size bed.
They might want to in clude the parking fee in the price. Afterall Stanford isn't New York City.
great location for Yankees game and Bronx Zoo. Location is great for restaurants and shopping. Hotel was clean and friendly.
I stayed at th Stamford Marriott with some friends for a short getaway. We had a great experience at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, we had a beautiful newly renovated room with a huge flat screen TV. We had the option to have a spa treatment or take a yoga class both on the property. This property is also in a great location, 2 blocks from the train to go to NYC, lots of restaurants, night life and shopping within minutes of the hotel. The only issue that I had was my internet in the room was a bit slow. Overall, I would recommend the Stamford Marriott.
12 dollars extra to park. whats next a luggage charge?
Hotel was what was expected and it was in a decent location.
The room was small and had a stale odor. I was disgusted with the bathroom because of the stain and hair on the floor. It was also ridiculous to pay so much for your stay and still have to pay for parking.
Pulled in late, got a room cheap, and was not disappointed.

Great place to stay, great rooms, 6.5 miles or so from Fairfield U. 3 miles from downtown Fairfield, right off highway. This is a very clean hotel, 5 months old, rooms are very large.
Wine glasses, modern room, cleanliness and the robes. No
The front desk staff exceptionally professional .
Beautiful unexpected get away. The room was the size of an apartment with very nice bathroom. Unfortunately our windows looked at I95 so we had to listen to the sounds of the highway all night.
It is beautiful and the room is huge with a big fireplace. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful!

the food service area was poor. The service was dissappointing, the prices too high and the food indifferent.A turn-off.
Very friendly staff greeted us.The layout of the bedroom was perfect, with a sofa, and the "tucked around the corner" kingsize bed, made it feel even more private. The desk space, with the pullout computer desk, was perfect and the chair was very comfortable for both my tall husband and me, a much shorter person. Wifi connection was good and the TV channels more than adequate. We have been very happy with our stays at Marriott hotels and have always had excellent service while staying there. Our only complaint was that the restaurant food was a little off, probably because we checked in late and ordering salads was not a good idea at the time of night,as the the greens were even more tired than we were. The restaurant staff was, on the other hand, so delightful and accommodating that we said nothing and went to our room happy to not have to drive any more for anything, that night..
Clean. Great location. Very comfortable. Noisy in the courtyard during the night!!!
The staff was amazing The location, I wish it was more to do near by.
Excellent customer service and beautiful rooms! The continental breakfast was disappointing and very disconcerting. There were alot of small children, under the age of six in the buffet area, without parental supervision, touching the waffle maker, other hot items, and they had their "little hands" all over the food and then not taking. My husband and I decided to leave after seeing that. I would suggest sign made not allowing children under a certain age in the food area or they must be accompanied by a guest.
The first room AC was down. As soon as we called, someone was there and when it was obvious that the AC was down, we had another room - all within 15 to 20 minutes:0)
Clean, comfort and nice hotel
It was very close to the event that we attended that weekend.
The room decor. The bed was comfortable. The people were very nice. The price was affordable. Clean bathroom and clean bed! The bathroom did not have a fan. The room did not have an individual thermostat and it was chilly. The bed needed another blanket.
Rooms were clean Rooms were mostly well maintained King size pillows and bed was comfortable Breakfast was good, but I'd skip the pancake machine, it was more a "neato" thing for kids to play with No temperature based thermostat on ac/heat Rooms with double queen beds had small pillows (the size of a throw pillow) that weren't very comfortable.
