this was a very good hotel, easy to find and a good central location that met all our needs. The breakfast was great and being able to sit outside with our morning tea on the canal side was a real bonus. The bar staff on the evening was also very helpful. The only slight problem was on our departure, when paying the bill it was different to the amount quoted but this problem was soon resolved with again very pleasant reception staff.
Excellent staff very courteious and helpful especially in the resturant Extractor fan in bathroom didnt work and no got it fixed even aftrer we had asked them to do so
I thought the staff were superb. Very helpful and approachable, they really are a credit to the hotel and made a lovely change compared to some we have stayed in.
our room was lovely and it was a very romantic setting.I would recommend it to anyone,If I was to go back to ellesmere I would stay at the holiday inn.
Comfy bed, good facilities
the gym and pool no
everything was very good
The hotel was charming, grounds were tranquil and pleasant. Nothing, everything was lovely.
The bed was extremely comfortable, lovely duvet and linen. We wanted to catch a newsbulletin on the tv, no news channels! The shield for the shower leaked so the floor was very wet. Corridors and public rooms too warm, restaurant and bar doors to the garden were open even though it was a cool showery evening.
evening menu for both friday & saturday was identical not a good idea
The grounds were beautiful and the staff was very courteous.
Such a friendly place to stay. The hotel is a family run business and makes a great change from the usual branded hotels. All the staff were great and so friendly. The evening meal was amazing, worth staying in the hotel just for this. The room rate was great value and the meal was very reasonably priced too. Overall I stayed for business but I will be going back for pleasure.
Superb room, excellent service.
Large rm, choice of rm only, late bar - local event was a late finish so really appreciated a drink as I was driving. Tv with teletext, plenty of parking space despite a private dinner party in Hotel. Double rm was actually a family rm, if I had known this then 2nd single rm would not habve been needed (a twin room required) and this would have saved the extra expense incurred. Walls are paper thin, thankfully other guests were not noisey when they passed my room or the rooms either side.
Owner and staff very helpful and friendly exellent service very high standard but still had that personal touch that is often lost with some hotels I would have no hesitation in recomending this hotel to anyone (superb) There where no bad points
spotless facilities family run hotel with comfortable rooms and a welcoming atmosphere and i was made to feel welcome. well decorated rooms with good amenities
The rooms were spot on. Very clean both bedroom and bathroom and were really comfortable and decorated fantastically Perhaps a bit more soundproofing, snoring from other rooms bit off putting
Clean Comfortable Good parking facilities None
The lovely atmosphere, spacious room and good breakfast were the best bits. There was also a good view of the lovely garden from the bedroom. There was a humming noise coming from the kitchen freezer next to the bedroom,
Excellant room and service. Very clean and weloming. Our room was adjacent to a marvellous garden which we could relax in. Restaurant was closed on Sunday night.
Prety house and good breakfast. Large parking Good staff Rather difficult to find even with a gps! Search for Hooton instead of Ellesmere Port ...
Convenience, close to cities.Good parking. Large refurbished room
The check in staff were friendly, welcoming. The bar staf and restaurant staff were pleasant. The hotel was badly in need of a refit, very dated and tatty. The swimming pool had a moldy fetid smell. The lockers in the changing rooms did not lock and there was no soap in the showers.
The helpfulness of the staff. We could hear the ain road form our roon.
The pool it was very refreshing. The food was lovely and staff were very helpful. We will stay at a quality hotel again.
The swimming pool was clean and reasonably sized. The bed was uncomfortable. Towels were a bit dated. Room was always cold on my return each evening as staff were always turning the heater off.
Comfortable room good price for hotel with gym gym facilities being restored was not advised there would be no lockers etc when making reservation
room was lovley, food excellent, enjoyed the motown evening, but dissapointed that we didnt have time to use the pool and saunas the bar and enterainment room could do with being a bit bigger and also some airconditioning in there it was so hot.
some of the staff were ok the whole place was dirty in particular the so called health suite which was absolutly filthy. the standard of food in the restaurant was poor in particular the breakfasts which were never fresh and often left on the plat by myself and other guests. the hotel staff don't know the procedures it took me 30min to check out making me late for an appointment.
The staff were so friendly very smartly dressed and very helpful. The food was gorgeous and the staff in the restaurant were exceelent a credit to The Quality Hotel Chester
A fabulous place and I would definately stay there again - just for the delicious cooked breakfast!!
Staff were all very young, the restaurant was very busy (a lot of non-resident diners, which suggests it has a good rep) and it was all a bit chaotic. However, they were all very friendly and very helpful. Our meal was perfectly edible, but unmemorable - perhaps because we were the last to be served that night and the chef had peaked earlier in the evening.... When we arrived, 8pm ish, all hot water had been used up - what came out of the taps was tepid (we did not complain as staff were all very busy in the popular restaurant of the hotel). The shower cubicle door was positioned so close to the bathroom door, and opened in such a way that it was a challenge getting in and out, especially for my husband who is tall and broad-shouldered!
Very clean, warm room, shower good, bed large and comfortable, food and service excellant. Good parking facilities. None.
The staff were very informal
Rowena's desire to please.
Faulty towers without the faults brilliant. We loved the ski lodge room. Food was excellent. Staff were friendly and welcoming would go again
Esay to find hotel great staff good service and good food, a good size car park, will use again
Thestaff were great, The owner was great fun and made the stay really enjoyable.Food to die for all freshly cooked to order, rooms lovely and clean and comfortable. If you get the chance go and find out how great it is for yourselves. None
I chose this hotel to be near to relatives we were visiting. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the restaurant first class. The proprietor was helpful in every respect and I look forward to further visits in the future. A happy experience.
Problem over bookig resolved very well. Confusion over booking of 'twin/double'; taken as double when twin was required!
Friendly helpful staff and family atmosphere.
I thought the hotel was excellent value for money and the breakfast was excellent quality and planty of it.
When we arrived at Reception we were met by a very nice lady named Ruth (I think) and she made us feel very welcome. She also explained the whole layout of the hotel and facilities. We would have eaten at the restaurant but had already pre-booked as we were there for a birthday celebration. Overall I would stay there again.
friendliness and helpfulness of all staff especially Dawn (reception) who went out of her way to guide us to the hotel when we where lost in an unfamiliar area.
The staff were friendly, the room was clean with all the ammenities you needed. Should you need anything during the night there was always someonem on hand. two warm in the room. could have some smoking rooms and possible room service for those people on there own, who mayy not wish to mingle with others.
I am a Japanese and not good at English. However, the front women spoke to me very politely. No.
clean nothing, it was as expected
Bed was comfortable The drains were smelly in the bathroom
Excellent value for money, staff very friendly and efficient. Meals excellent. Only negative, not shown to room, would have been a nice little touch,
Location excellent food excellent, very quiet spot. Yes,Should be shown to room by staff ie customer care,en-suite bedroom no shower & no mirror over dressing table.
Comfortable beds, decent size rooms, good food, quiet If anything it was a bit too quiet. Little opportunity for people-watching!
The price room and hotel shabby - breakfast v basic
Calm place, traditional decorations, kind staffs. It's not like any commercial modern hotel, but excellent for home-made relax.
Location Wifi not across the whole place as quoted
Rooms in need of updating. Television onlypicked up one channel,
Staff - very very helpful and pleasant. Food great - home cooked - makes such a difference.
Quiet location. The size and standard of room.
It totally needs refurbishing. It looks very tired and dated. I was originally put in a room with just a bath and no shower and had to move rooms, which the hotel was fair about.
