8.3 Excellent
Pros: Really nicely decorated, clean and modern hostel with a nice cafe downstairs. The location is good with a couple of restaurants nearby and the night market. I think it's one of the best places to stay in Chiang khong for sure.
Cons: The room was very small but not a problem for a short stay. The breakfast options could have been better but we had bagels which were good. I also think for a small room with shared bathroom the price could have been better.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel appears to be brand new. It is in a great central location across from the best bar in town. There are a lot of stairs as the property is very tall. Views from the various stair landings and terraces are very nice.
Cons: Prices in their coffee shop are very high. There is a religious design and tone to the place that may not be expected from the advertisements and photos. It had no effect on our enjoyment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Although staff barely spoke English, they have a booklet outlining all tour and activities information including slow boat to Laos (independently and with a tour package). Very clean. Fast wifi. AC in room. Walking distance location to many restaurants and 7/11. Credit card payment accepted. Nice common area with a rooftop view. On-site restaurant available.
Cons: Would have been nice if towels were provided for free.
9.3 Excellent

Pros: First the owner May, she is one of the most delightful human being I have ever come across. We decided after crossing the Laos border to spend a night on the Thai side. The resort has only been open for 6 months, it is in a very quiet area, facing the Mekong and by hills. The outdoor garden is great the room are very big and I have nothing bad to say about it. May makes it all very extra special.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place. Very welcoming, smiling and helpful hosts. The room was extremely clean and confortable. The view from the balcony is beautiful and the nature is all around. The ambiance in the open space in the restaurant is very relaxing. The food was delicious. The garden around the resort is gorgeous. It’s very easy and chipper to take a taxi from the border if you arrived from Laos. I didn’t uses it but apparently they have a bike you can borrow to go in the town. I truly recommend that paradise.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: The property is amazing, all the green areas in perfect harmony with the rooms and the swimming pool one of the best, great location for wait to cross the border or for stay like first step in Thailand
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice garden, nice swimming pool, nice room. I liked the place. Stayed for 1 night with 2 children
7.5 Good
Pros: Heading to slow boat and needed to overnight here. Rooms lovely wooden, clean and compact - lovely pool, for s very minimal amount. Guesthouse and hotel on same site so options available. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Pump going all night every 15 seconds or so directly behind the room. Although all else was good no sleep spoiled things- lucky it was so cheap.

Pros: Pool and basic but clean fan room...
Cons: Roosters and noisy, selfish guests talking very loudly until 3am.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool to cool off Walkable distance from bus station (coming from Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai) Cheap shuttle service to the border in the morning to catch the slow boat Comfy bed with mosquito net
Cons: Breakfast very simple and not worth the money
7.0 Good
Pros: This is a good hotel for one night stay.
Cons: Far from the new border between thailand and Laos ...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff that attended me was a lovely Thai woman. She was very welcoming and funny, and she took care of all the details, even I was staying just one night. Also managed to do the payment via booking.com as I have no cash money. The accomodation is great, and very big value for the price you pay. My room with fan was enough as it's not as hot as other places in Thailand and also have mosquito net covering the bed (even I couldn't see any mosquito inside the room). The room is a cozy wooden room. Wifi was very fast and the pool was amazing. They have a restaurant and you can have an American breakfast with coffee for 80 baht. Location is great, 700meters away from the bus station and just in front of a 7-eleven.
Cons: You can hear anything from other rooms. After 8,30pm you may not find many places for dinner around, but you can go to an Italian restaurant, leaving the hotel turning left and walking a bit, that closes later. The food is good, price normal and the lady working there is also very nice and pleasant. You will fall in love.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great value for price. Really nice place for few nights. Cool swimming pool.
Cons: You can hear your neighrboors.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really good location, amazing for a stop before Laos, nice rooms, good pool. Amazing price. Like ridiculously good price!
Cons: The staff were helpful at first but the lady in the morning was quite rude when we were asking about getting to the border. She tried to sell us a bus for double what it was when in Laos. Dampened the mood

5.8 Okay
Pros: mixing with guests.
Cons: bedroom and bathroom.
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff were nice and friendly and the location next to the river was nice to look out on. Good price
Cons: There is no WiFi in rooms and 4G and 3G don’t reach them either, the bathrooms are not cleaned very well if at all, dirt everywhere and at least 5 spiders in there. The pillow was very hard, I woke up with a stiff neck and there is no fan in the room so it was too warm to sleep
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly reception . (Bath)rooms are basic, but clean. Maleehouse is surely worrth the money. Easy to get in contact with the other guests
Cons: Room was quiet small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had reserved just one night and stayed over a week. And after my journey in Laod I went back. This is more than a guesthouse. It’s a wonderful place to meet wonderful people, with an amazing view on the Mekong river. Malewaan, the owner, is a very interesting person who will surely turn your stay into something unique.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I had a really lovely room with a balcony overlooking the Mekong which was good value for money and comfortable. The guesthouse had a communal balcony too which also had lovely views. Staff were friendly and the location was peaceful but close enough to walk into town too.
Cons: It's a really minor thing...but the fridge wasn't that well stocked - quite a few of the beers/drinks advertised were not available. This didn't really make much difference to me but it may have affected others if travelling in a group as the balcony was a great place to chill with a few beers.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, great views of the river
Cons: Could hear neighbors but no more than most hotels.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. Nice comfortable clean room with small balcony. With the booking genius deal i got, it was very good value for money. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. They even have homemade cakes. The owner and staff are friendly and very helpful: my back hurt on check-out day and the owner drove me to the bus station (although not far from the guesthouse) which i truly appreciated.
6.8 Good
Pros: Private balcony
Cons: Ants in the room. Breakfast was served later than it was supposed to be, when we went down for breakfast we were told to wait 15 minutes. When came back later, the cook hadn't even started preparing it. Given that we were leaving early to get to Laos, this was quite uncomfortable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Garden setting was like an oasis in the middle of the city. Very quiet, birds singing in the morning. All rooms at ground level. Chained the bicycles up just outside the door. Restaurants, shops and Saturday night market very close. Room was spacious, with a fan.
Cons: Paying a key deposit.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Soft bed and hot shower, nothing else to ask. Quite in the center of the little city. They have a minivan starting every morning for the border (50bath).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s near the city of Chiangkhong. The boss is nice. The room is comfortable. And the price is ideal!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We arrived at 23:00 and the hotel was closed. It was unclear how to check in but when he did he was lovely. Good (western) breakfast and strong coffee. Really helpful getting us across the border and onto the slow boat. You might have to wait a while when in Laos, but that’s part of the game. We would have liked the extra hour in bed!
4.5 Okay
Pros: Made quite a few new friends with the local ants!
Cons: Ants everywhere and I mean everywhere, even the bed! Breakfast was made for us without asking what we wanted and my wife is vegetarian so the sausage and ham were not appreciated nor the ants! Cold shower (with ants), cold sink so shaving was unpleasant (with ants). Water pump outside room was noisy all night coming on and off so sleep was limited. Owners don’t seem to care and expected us to do everything. Tried to change money as bank was closed on Saturday by owner was never around. No TV channels in English.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptionally clean and comfortable close to everything staff friendly- aircon very cold which was fantastic- fridge in room handy cute porch The owner arranged all our transfers paperwork everything to get across the border which was very helpful we went straight through at all check points as it was all arranged and paperwork completed along with all transport included very helpful highly recommend paying worth every cent
Cons: Small thing but we are vegetarian and didn’t get a chance nor asked how we like our breakfast felt bad wasting food as we had meat and eggs served on our plate - just feedback but always good to check guests dietary requirements before cooking we would of been happy with cereal and fruit - other than that it was perfect awesome coffee
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and friendly staff. Good place to stay in Chiangkong before border crossing to Laos. Very clean and comfortable bed.
Cons: None
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice private and confortable room with a little terrace. There is option of air conditioner (you have to pay if you want it), but it was fresh even without turning it on.
Cons: The bathroom had ants. The staff tried to sell us trips to the immigration office and slowboat, when we only wanted to reat there. Their english was poor. No plug next to the bed.

7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent situation with wonderful river views. The rooms were clean and confortable and the staff helpful and polite. very good value for money
Cons: There was a VERY laud Food Festival about 400 meters away which kept us awake until midnight, then the local cockerals woke us up at 4.30. very noisey but not the hotels fault
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Stunning views in an ideal location
Cons: The service was below par consistently and the breakfast was the worst of our 2 weeks in Thailand ( it was also cold)
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Very very nice place. Everything was totaly awsome. The beds in Thailand is hard but here it was soft. Cosy clean rooms and very very nice staaf. The food in the resturant was very tasty and the wiev over tve river to laos was fantastic.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room with balcony, comfy bed, nice location by the river.

6.8 Good
Pros: The staff were phenomenal, it pains me to have any negative feedback. Exceptionally nice, helpful people. The owner arranged our dinner at a local restaurant, it was the best Mexican food. The countryside setting was beautiful, not too far out, and the staff was more than willing to provide transportation
Cons: Our room smelled VERY musty, the grout on the tile work was all over the walls in the bathroom, unfortunately there wasn’t really a ‘shower’ it was more a shower head on the wall. The bathroom was just unpleasant, unfinished, and less than expected; just not the cleanest. The beds weren’t very comfortable. But the staff was very kind. The breakfast left much to be desired as well.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: No frills but had everything we needed, including tea/coffee available in a public area and a 7-11 next door. It was just a one-night stop-over at the border before an early-morning crossing into Laos, so we just needed something basic, and it exceeded expectations. Very good value for the money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel was great. The cleanliness and provisions such as extra glass tumblers etc in the room was exceptional, particularly for such a cheap price per night. The whole hotel including the foyer and officer area appeared to be immaculately kept and cleaned which is a great sign of good management. The staff on reception were friendly and efficient. This hotel was excellent value for money and I would recommend it to anyone.
Cons: Cannot fault this hotel.

Pros: Nice, clean, comfortable room, friendly host. She called a tuk tuk for me to go to bus station.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Near the broader of Laos.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. It is close to a major road but sets back quite a bit so the traffic noise was not too bad. Plus, after 7:00, there was very little traffic. We stayed here because it was close to the border and were planning to cross over the next day. If you are spending time in Chiang Khong, then you would want to be closer to the center of town. This hotel is outside of Chiang Khong but it is great if you are just going overnight to cross into Laos the next day. Hint: If you plan to stay here. Get off at the first stop for Chiang Khong...it will be the border stop. You can walk to the hotel from there. Also, the cafe down the road from the hotel is really good....Coffee Moja, I think!
Cons: They have coffee and tea in the lobby but it is instant coffee...I cannot drink instant coffee so would prefer drip coffee made in a coffee maker! Other than that, I have no complaints.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful landlord, free transfer to the bus station.
6.8 Good
Pros: Owner did his very best to compensate for all uncomfortable experiences at check in. Free bikes to go to the city.
Cons: Rooms where initially too small to cater for a family. We chatted and found a solution that was good for both parties.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, away from noisy centre. Pancake was good for breakfast
Cons: Bathroom facilities were not good
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The owner was friendly
Cons: It was dirty and needed many repairs
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were clean and roomy with fly screens on all windows (essential due to mosquitoes). Breakfast was pancake with honey and bananas, coffee and juice - served on time. We used bicycles to go up town for dinner (however not much to choose from). Owner arranged transport for us to Thai border for 50 baht each.
Cons: The single bed in our room was extremely hard - almost impossible to sleep on. No toilet paper provided. Only one electric plug in the bedroom which made charging phones, iPads etc for next day's boat trip a bit difficult. We didn't buy the "package" for the slow boat for 1,350 baht. Instead we paid for everything ourselves with no hassles and spent a lot less money.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location with good view over the river
Cons: Beds were hard and lumpy and walls were thin
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were fantastic. We were the only visitors at the time and he could not have been more helpful. The room was lovely and the bathroom was spotlessly clean. Breakfasts were simple but lovely. We sat out in the evenings overlooking the Mekhong. It was a short walk to the main town on very quiet roads. We loved our stay and would go again.
Cons: We didn't realise at first that we had to pay 100 baht for the air con, but this was easily sorted on the second day.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice looking homestay with a very friendly host who offered to book my entire Mekong/Laos trip to Luang Prabang (including pickup). It also included a very nice breakfast.
Cons: The place is in the opposite end of the town than the bus station, and it was a bit difficult to find the place in the dark although the distance itself was ok. I’m happy that I kept looking and found it. The city/riverside is very noisy with karaoke and animals all night, but I guess that would’ve been the same for every other accommodation

Pros: We missed the last bus to Chiang Rai and this place was a fair option to stay one night after crossing the border from Laos, the staff were kind, beds were comfortable, working wifi, aircon worked well, clean, the bathroom facilities worked well, everything was just fine.
Cons: It was quite expensive taking advantage of the limited options in town.
6.8 Good
Pros: Beds were super comfy and the AC was great!
Cons: Staff was very confused when we arrived and seemed to speak barely any English. Bathroom had lots of dead bugs in it. Water in bathroom didn't work but we told reception and they gave us another room straight away where everything was fine.
