Nothing at all It was in town away from the places we usually frequent and we had to drive through many local streets with traffic lights to get there. We usually stay at Red Roof Inn, which has the location we like and will go back there on our next trip.
Price and convenience No really, clean but a few repairs to the decor would help.
I liked the fact that for a small mom and pop motel they worked hard to keep it clean and updated. The beds, furniture, rug, fridge, air conditioner etc were all in good shape and cleaned well. locks were hard to get door open.room was heavily scented in stale cigarette,musty,mildew/mold odor and appeared obvious some type of problem with the water pipes occurred.paint job sloppy in bathroom and dry wall where accessed pipes not repaired well
I stayed at this motel in July and enjoyed it immensely. The staff allowed us to check in 4 hours early which was real blessing after driving 4 hours with my 82 year-old father. A throwback to the days of 'motor courts' from when I was a child, I was shocked at the owner's desire to make sure we enjoyed every aspect of our stay. VERY comfortable beds (appear to be fairly new), clean rooms, more-than-adequate cable TV programming, in-room microwave and fridge, on-site swimming, a lovely well-kept lawn with lounge chairs under a variety of shade trees, and a very nice complimentary breakfast of coffee, tea, milk, juice, cold cereals, donuts, muffins, assorted bagels and toast, and a variety of loaf cakes and puff pastries. Dad and I also took advantage of the discount that Amish Lanterns offers to guests to enjoy an extensive breakfast buffet at Hershey Farms ($*/pp) which is located right up the road from the motel. The owners also gave us a coupon for a complimentary all-you-can-eat pizza and pasta buffet at Cici's (with the purchase of one regularly priced buffet meal). Finally, the owner gave us a complimentary discount booklet from Tanger Outlets (sells for * at the outlet) which included discounts not only for outlet stores, but for area attractions as well. When we got home from our trip, mom was so excited about the good time that dad and I had, that she decided we should all go visit again for the upcoming Labor Day weekend! All in all an exceptional value for your money and owners who really pay attention to providing their guests with a pleasant stay. PS. You'll also love the clip-clop sound of the local Amish passing by the motel in their horse-drawn carriages, especially in the evening.
The location was good, helpful staff, clean, and the price was very good. We were surprised because after we made our reservations we read a lot of bad reviews.
Stayed in July 2011 I have stayed at this motel several times before. While not a top notch place it was good for the price. New managment opened the pool, never saw it open before. Place is getting run down. AC does not work well, ice machine broken, no AC in the ice drink room, I believe they were supposed to have WIFI. Did niot work. Looked like a family of 6, maybe 4 klids and two adults were long term eresidents. Go to Lancaster 2-3 times a year, love the area. Will not go back to this place.
The room was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but the stench of stale cogarette smoke was so strong I only took one step into the room. I complained and requested another room. I was given another room, and a can of Febrese, being told that although they say no smoking in the rooms, guests often do as they please. The 2nd room was not as bad as the first, but when I finally got into bed, I realized that one of the legs was broken, so the bed sloped down to the right. I didn't bother complaining, I was afraid of what the 3rd room would bring. The bathroom was filthy, but fortunately I had Clorox wipes in the trunk of my car, so I was able to clean down the entire bathroom before we used it.
