The staff were amazing, that made the whole experience wonderful.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly speaking good english. The wi-fi was very good, in room and cost only 5€ per day. There is a pool and sauna. Food in the hotel was excellent and reasonably priced. Parking was not a problem. Location is mid-way between Trier and Luxembourg None that come to mind
Friendly and helpful receprionist, who could also speak English. Car parking somewhat inconvenient if there was no space immediately in front of the hotel.
Good sized room and bathroom. Good breakfast. Staff is more than willing to help out. Not that well positioned. You need your car to get to Trier.
This hotel is next to the Roman structure the Igel monument. The staff spoke very good English. The hotel restaurant served good meals. Breakfast was a nice spread, plenty to choose from. The hotel management gave the guests big chocolate bunny on Easter morning. It was placed in front of our door, it was a nice touch. We loved that surprise!!! This hotel is a good value and has the right location in the area.
Staff and food were excellent and made up for the one or two disappointments. ie swimming pool not working, tv remote not working and no coffee/tea making facilities.
Although there had been some language barrier at check in time the staff was very pleasant and helpfull. The room is spacious and was very clean. I will definitely be back. Great location in town. Good value. Not really.
Very friendly housekeepers; very comfortable, spacious and cleaned room. Good breakfast.
The hotel was modern, lots of space in the corridors and rooms. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was excellent. Good value for money. Free internet. Great loaction, 3 mins walk to Saarburg. Internet strength kept dipping in and out. Also, the hotel is only one floor of the big building seen in the pictures. You park the car in the basement then catch the elevator up to the hotel. The hotel reception closes fairly early. We arrived at 10pm and the whole building was shut up. We asked at a bar downstairs how to access the building and by chance they by chance had some keys waiting for us in an envelope, with no directions. It was a little like fort knox trying to find out way in. Great hotel, you just want to check in earlier than we did.
There was a door between my room and the room of another guest. My key was working, so I assume the same goes for the guest on the other side. Not a good feeling to know that someone else could theoretically walk into your room anytime during the whole night. Only noticed when it was already too late. No one was at the reception during the night hours.
The hotel was everything that we expected, a beautiful old 300 year old house set on the banks of the river Saar. The bedrooms are spacious and furnished to a high standard with excellent bathroom facilities and a comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was good and the evening meal was a culinary delight. We would definately recommend this hotel and hope to return. An excellent location for a special occassion, especially in the summer when you can dine on the terrace overlooking the river. Absolutely nothing!
Beautiful setting on river with castle views - very special. Friendly and helpful breakfast staff. Disinterrested staff at our arrival. Had to search to find someone to check us in. Phoned to confirm family room (indicated in booking.com overview). No recollection of conversation. Allocated a singel room and charged accordingly. No flexibility to have dinner in restaurant despite being within restaurant timings.
The staff was courteous and friendly. The food and service excellent. And what a view of the castle!
Excellent value difficult to find
Charming old manor style house, idyllic situation. Friendly service. Absolutely a place to go back.
I love the close location to the train station and the quietness of the hotel. There was not one thing I did not like
The hotel is in an ideal location for a visit to Saarburg. Located on the River Saar and its lovely walking/biking trail, it is an easy walk into town, to the train station and the castle. The accommodations are spacious and comfortable and give a feel of a real European historic hotel, not a sterile chain hotel. Service is very good and the staff speaks fairly good English. Everyone was friendly and service oriented. Thr dining facilites are lovely and well designed. We ate breakfast and one dinner in the beer garden and enjoyed the food and the service. I would highly recommend this hotel. There is no elevator but this was not a problem for us.
