Being woken up at 1:45 AM by a fighting couple and then at 2 AM the next fighting couple directly above stomped around in a 15x15 room like they were on crack and couldn't control themselves. This went on until 4:30 AM and by that time we gave up. Also no phone in room to call the office.
The River Road is a clean comfortable hotel with nice beds nice towels and nice Decor ....I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone Nothing
I liked the clean bathroom and how cheap the motel was considering the time of year we went (summer). They also threw in passes to the Chula Vista resort and had a great discount for Mt. Olympus. Close to downtown as well. We had some obnoxious neighbors that got incredibly drunk at 3am and tried to break into our room from a connecting doorway in the room. Paper thin walls made it so you could hear everyone! I'd only recommend staying here if saving money is an absolute neccesity.
Location No bugs in bed. Clean towels. Shower and sink worked as expected. Not at all like its website showed. TV from the 70's, one channel only manually operated. Front office unable to help, "No work" he said. Wi-fi signal constantly lost. Bed squeaky. Old rug. Toilet required long hold on handle. Heater/air conditioner unit looked disgusting inside, did not use. Pool closed, cafe closed. Poorly paved parking lot, uneven grade on far end. No elevator, wooden stairs in need of maintenance. How do these places remain open?
Walking distance to main attractions. Two towels for 5 people, couldn't find reservation, first room given was not yet cleaned or made up.
The bathroom was huge! The microwave, fridge, and coffeemaker came in handy, and the beds were comfy. We could walk to most attractions except the waterparks. One of my pillows was rock hard.
The staff in friendly and the location is great, next to a ton of restaurants. Has a family owned vib. Great experience overall. If I got back to the Dells with my partner will stay again. Only complaint is the rooms are older and could use an update.
The Sherman House was a neat house to explore. It is old, but well kept up. It has excellent access to downtown Dells. The food for breakfast was delicious. They offer a wide variety from fried eggs and hashbrowns to cereal and fruit/yogurt. The Sage room we stayed in had a beautiful view of the lake and was cozy. Housekeeping didn't stop by the first day.
