the well being floor was a great benefit.
Air conditioning and WiFi worked well. Free parking in front. Great location and pleasant view across the river. Good food. A well designed modern building. Breakfast was expensive.
I have stayed there a number of times. Staff are always very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small-ish but very comfortable and clean Public computer in entrance hall never seems to work.
Ramada is well located, moderate in price, very clean and comfortable. I recommend it mostly for buusiness people or those who want to visit the town and the local area. The architecture is unique. It is ultra modern among the more traditional type of architecture
It was clean efficient, pleasant staff. Ice was not readily available
Clean, high quality design. Very nice room. Quiet. Food & drinks + service match room quality. No,
very nice SPA
I give this hotel a 2 star because of its great location, stunning views, and parking situation. At first sight the hotel is stunning, and parking was always available nearby. But that is as it good as it gets. Our room was small and Still had wet floors in the bathroom from the cleaning service. Also, do yourself a favor and skip breakfast, for 25 Fr you get a limited choice of breads and a boiled egg. On both occassion's we asked for scrambled eggs and after an hour they never came out. I spoke to the front desk and her response was 'sorry, I will let the manager know'. Needless to say they didn't do anything about it on the second day. Furthermore, my friend paid for the hotel suite, and when he asked to get another room due to the Air conditioning being broken. They responded by putting him in a room the size of a closet and simply said 'sorry'. While my other friends suite was unavailable at checkin since they 'overbooked' the hotel. So out of our large group that stayed here, over 80% were dissatisfied
location of hotel was excellent
Helpful reception, proximity to centre. The room though smallish was very comfortable, and we slept well. Good view of the river. How do you describe something you don't like, without it being a form of complaint ? We found the current roadworks in Solothurn called for some initiative on finding how to arrive. On question (below) about guest reviews, can't remember what they said, but we expected Ramada to be ok. We stayed in Solothurn as being in easy reach of Basel for a one day visit.
Clean and quite room, good working wifi, friendly people at the reception and in the restaurant. The breakfast, although of good quality and with an extensive choice, is too expensive : 50 chf (= 36€). I do not think that this price was mentioned somewhere in advance.
Close to the station and therefore easy access to Zurich or Berne or anything inbetween.
There is nobody at night in the reception, I had a key problem and couldn't access to my room. I had to find an other hotel to stay for the night. In the morning I came back, they appolagized several times and pay my money back that I payed for the other hotel.
good rooms, very clean rooms, a good breakfast No reception at nights
The big space of the room.
super location, easy access to train station and down town. The room was very comfortable and quiet.
Every things were good in your hotel. The best thing is so much quite . nothing
The hotel is very very nice. The rooms are very comfortable and really value for money. The staff is very friendly and look after your needs. I can really recommend this excellent hotel.
One could not say the facilities are acceptable in term of space, cleanlessness etc... ...but when we arrived, our reservation had not been took in account, which forced us to an hour of argument with the uncompetent doorwoman who could not speak english, and an awful manager who hanged up the phone because we were "calling too late". Finally an helpful gentleman who could speak german with both of them helped us out of this situation and agreed to let us get the last room avalaible. Before booking in this hotel, one should also know "close to the station" means facing it, which also means you will hear trains quite loudly all night. Flight away, fellows...
Excellent location - close to the rail station and city center. Decent and ample breakfasts. Quiet despite being close to the station. There was too much smoke from the bar area, which polluted a lot of the surrounding lobby and dining area. The cleaning of the bathroom was not as careful as it should have been. The wash cloths were not replaced after the first day.
Perfect location in about 100meters from Olten train station no free wifi connection.1 week costs 45CHF
good situation when driving to South of France price -room per night and breakfast seperated (expensive) + parking extra roomprice all included would be better
Staff very helpful and friendly, excellent facilities for families and great family rooms. Very child-friendly. Clean, modern and updated. Great stopover on your way to/from Switzerland.
Extremely spacious and very well equipped rooms, everything you could possibly need down to a pair of slippers! Very friendly and helpful staff, any problems/requests were dealt with immediately, (though the only problem we encountered was that the safe in the childrens room needed resetting to be able to use it). Really good restaurant(s), fabulous food, great atmosphere. In the 'hotel policies' it states that a 'wireless internet hotspot is available in public areas and is free of charge', this is not strictly true. The 'free internet' is one work station in the lobby, if you tried to log on to the wireless hotspot with your own laptop, it came up with a webpage asking for payment and it was quite pricey in my opinion starting at £5 for an hour. No matter where I've stayed from budget hotels to 5* hotels, there never seems to be enough milk, coffee and sugar in the rooms for my liking. The only other bad point was having to leave!
It was conveniently situated near major motorways. The bed and pillows were comfortable, little else. It was a 3 star experience, at best, with 5-star pricing. Everything was extra even car parking. The Panoramic views were reserved for the expensive restaurant, not the rooms. The bathroom was 1970`s Holiday Inn, plus mould between the tiles.Despite my high price, the Hotel was full of bus-parties from Spain and Italy...contradiction?
excellent bed, we were on tour, so only sleeping and go to the next location, nice hotel also for kids (8 months and 3 years).
The hotel location requires you to have a car. Traveling by train or bus could be a little bit difficult, however hotel is really nicely located. Only once happen during our stay that room was cleaned so-so.

Location, near motorway. Comfortable rooms/beds. Different restaurants and bar, visited not only by hotelguests. Great breakfast.
Good size room and bathroom. Handy to the town of Liestal and railway station. A good location to visit the countryside. Excellent breakfast. No
Quiet, convenient location Internet connectivity should be improved
Rooms are ok ! The uncooperative receptionist(e) .
The quiet and large room. The breakfast selection was excellent and the evening meal was the best meal I had during my 28 stay in Switzerland.
Central position, not far from the station, top floor east facing room very quiet, well equipped, good buffet breakfast, friendly multi-lingual staff pillow too soft
Excellent comfort, friendly staff, great breakfast, easy parking Pricy but fair
Modern hotel with good location and facilities for a short stay I was given a smokers room with smell of cigarette smoke.
Very impressed that a fan was available as the weather was very hot. Most hotels in Switzerland that are not air conditioned do not have fans available. It was a 'life saver,' thank you very much. I also liked free internet access - this is crucial.
accessible to the train station no aircondition. It was very hot in the summer.
The excellent service I received from all levels of staff.
Nice staff, clean and spaceful room, I can only recomend this hotel.
Clean, very nice and spacefull rooms, nice and helpfull staff and pleasant restaurant downstairs. I loved the breakfast outside. Good value for money.
Large room. modern facility. Hard to find. out-of -the way
Nice and easy to use, Friendly atmosphere
Hotel staff. Breckfast and restaurant are very good. External noise due to civil works just outside the hotel. Car parking is too expensive.
big room but very pure furniture, corridor smell
Beautiful traditional Swiss hotel, right in the centre of the old town. Well modernised facilities without disturbing the character of the building. Right by the square with markets, fountains and cafes. Clock tower and bells are close and charming, but might disturb some. Food is excellent and the staff were very helpful and charming, spoke very good english and were happy to tolerate our feeble attempts at German. Parking is inconvenient and expensive as cars are not allowed in the old town
Good clean room but small. Very nice staff. Perfect location in town.
noise early Saturday morning
The character of the building and the town
Nice restaurant, good continental breakfast, clean room, free wireless internet, friendly staff.
Nice atmosphere Standard room is very small
Excellent evening meal, very welcoming and helpful staff.
Small hotel, very nice personnel. Restaurant downstairs that offers good food. Nice location in the middle of the old town of Solothurn. The hotel is an old historic building but newly renovated inside. No air conditioning in the room.
Location, restaurant, frendly staff. Noisy street in early morning, very basic breakfast. Parking outside old town, but not so far from hotel.
It at well managed hotel, all works good. No bad points to report.
The hotel was very clean and tidy, the room a good size and the breakfast provided lots of choice. The location is convenient, just off the motorway and a good stopover if crossing Switzerland. Not really a complaint, but when we arrived there were no staff present at all, just an open door with a table where the room keys were laid out and a piece of paper listing guests names to tick when they arrived - a little disconcerting!
The staff was very nice, and they could also speak some italian. The rooms were perfect and well equipped. There was just one blunkett in a double room.
Courtesy of staff, comfort of room, ancient building, easy access, good breakfast, very high ratio quality/price
Friendly and pleasant staff. Good sized family room.
Very clean, convenient location. restaurant is overpriced. Staff don't speak english, french. Only german.
The friendliest of welcomes and a very good restaurant and excellent service.
Friendly and welcoming, excellent dinner in the hotel restaurant. N/A
Very pleasant staff, immaculately clean throughout, and a wide menu choice of food in the two restaurants. Good venue for a nightstop en route through Switzerland, as convenient for the nearby motorways Good value for money taking into account the high cost of all Swiss hotels. However, the spotlessly clean rooms and bathrooms are small, and without individual bedside lights, which seems odd!
Central point , close to trainstation. Overall quality of hotel. Sunday morning at 10:30, when checking out, I had to wait at the deserted receiption for about 10 minutes. That for the above "FAIR".
Central location, excellent value, spacious room, quiet location
Very comfortable well appointed room Could have done with a restaurant
We have stayed in this hotel a few times now and have always found it to be very friendly and comfortable
Large size room. Near to station Shower lukewarm. No bath. No evening meals available.
The room, the breakfast and the convenience of being 2 minutes for Olten station are exactly what I need to break a late journey to Zurich. The system of late arrival works well. Perfectly satisfied There was nothing I did not like.
location near station limited facilities open when I was there
Closeness to the train station, spacious, clean. Only the fact that there is no fridge in the room.
High standards in every way.
Closeness to the station. Wasn't aware that the reception would be closed (from 18.30) as the Booking.com website shows check-in until 23.00. Arrived at 19.45 and after a slight panic found a letter with my name on it with instructions on how to get in which in fairness were good and detailed.
A hotel with a high standard but not inpersonal like a lot of large business type hotels. noted that passersby stopped for a drink/ coffee etc. Good breakfast.
When I checked in the lady was lovely, rooms were fresh and clean and bathroom was spotless When I did check out, I had a completely diffiernet experience with the receptionist, I found her to be very rude, I am not sure if she as too young, but there was no, How was your stay, Enjoy Switzerland or anything. In comparrison to when I checked in in turn the receptionst was spot on, attentive and polite with allot of ease.
Very clean nice size rooms, restaraunt had good choice on menu with very nice food, Staff very friendly and helpful None
Very nice location, very nice rooms, internet free, good breakfast.
the room was really nice and clean.the whole hotel had a nice feel to it. the hotel was let down by the restuarant and bar being closed. Apart from the town Solothurn there was not much to see in the area.
The place is beautiful and very relaxing. The hotel is located outside of the city but not too far away, so it is easy to go anywhere (by car). Our room was extremely clean and spacious. It is one of the hotels where I'm delighted to return.
Quiet place. On Sunday no staff there, but very well indicated where we had to get the keys from. On Monday morning the staff took really nice care of us. Great breakfast! We only missed air conditioning...and maybe a little pool around, as we got there with 34ºC // Le faltaria aire acondicionado en la habitación (justamente estuvimos cuando las temperaturas en esa zona eran de 34ºC)
Nice view, friendly stuff, very good breakfast, free internet access. It could be a bit cheaper
Beautiful location next to the river.
drinks and internet free, excellent location, historic building, nicely renovated, river view lobby doesn't open until 2pm, staff came late but was very apologetic
Location is good. Special ambiance. Drinks/Fruit/Coffee available for guest. There was no staff present. You needed to call a number to get a code to access your room key in a deposit box. This was't a problem, just a bit unusual.
Very interesting, historical building with a modern contemperary interior. Only to cross the bridge on foot to reach the Altstadt. Underground parking at a stone's throw and access to the motorway in 2 minutes. Noise of trains driving by regularly. But in Switzerland trains are never far away...
Good room overlooking the Aare. Receptionist helpful and restaurant excellent.Breakfast OK but not a wide choice.
safety box with as automatic reception for key narrow stairs - not presented elevator
The hotel is very clean and functional. The beds are very comfortable. It is in a quiet area 5-10 minutes work from Solothurn centre. On arrival at the hotel there was nobody at reception and I could not enter the hotel. Luckily my friend who spoke Swiss/German was able to read a sign and make a phone call to punch in a keypad number and retrieve a key ( although it was different to the room I booked). The keys are then extremely difficult to use with the door locks, and many times I gave up and didn't bother to lock the door.Breakfast is very basic by European standards and I have encountered far better on recent travels.
Good hygiene. You can use the washing machine for free, too. Free WIFI. Breakfast acceptable. The women from the staff are supportive, but they often go out to smoke. If your room faces the courtyard (which is more expensive), if your window is open you can easily get the smoke of the people who have to go out to smoke. The windows are very low on the pavement.
Light, bright, comfortable room. Very good breakfasts. Amazing 400 plus tv/radio stations. Very clean. No complaints and even happy with 9 minute walk into town from hotel
ottimo staff - no problems with english - excellent room no phone in the room
Very good and very new, family run hotel with great restaurant (always busy with locals). Contemporary furniture and design nicely housed in refurbished village inn. Very clean.
The staffs are friendly. and helpful The WIFI system is no good. Sometimes the WIFI fail.
Its proximity to the town centre and to the customer I was visiting the next day.
very near to solothurn station, good service, ready to help anytime, fantastic Nothing
Excellent location being 2 minutes from the old town and 1 minute from the main train station. Very helpful and friendly staff. DVD player in each room with no charge for DVDs (and you don't see that very often). WIFI access in-room usually plays a significant role in my decision for a hotel for business trips. This time it wasn't necessary but could be a factor in the future.
Quite hotel. Internet free. Parking place (limited) Nothing
Clean and renewed hotel. Very easy to find it. The Hotel is really very good hotel but with 3 stars. Arguments: no pay TV, no mini bar, very small restaurant without professional chief cook
Location: 200 metres from Solothurn old town, and 100 from the station shd you come by train. Very quiet and nice street, good parking in the hotel's courtyard, very friendly staff. A Swiss garni as it shd be, in probably the most beautiful and surely the most elegant Swiss town.
Free parking. Nearby the main station.
Friendly, helpful staff. Free WiFi. Very close to train station. Short walk to old town. Only 4 free parking spaces
We stayed 5 nights in July 2010 during the opera fesitival. We were very pleased and would recommend it highly recognizing the following: The hotel staff spoke good English, was very accomodating and pleasant. The location is excellent w/ just a 3-5 min walk across river to the town center.. The hotel is small and can be likened best to an upscale Bed & Breakfast. They provide a continental breakfast and a limited but small menu that they will prepare anytime during day or evening. They have a small patio in the back where we took most of our meals, a parking area behind the hotel and internet access. If you want value, clean accomodations and a friendly accomodating staff this would be an excellent choice. We encountered no problems during our stay
