Pros: This was a much needed wonderful break that could not have been bettered. The location of Bridgend is superb and everything about the house is fantastic. So elegant, so stylish and so beautiful. Our room was gorgeous and so comfortable and we loved being in it and spending time there. The residents lounge was wonderful and a real tranquil place. Such a superb garden too, very well kept and inviting. Parking was plentiful and spacious. We slept so well in the big comfortable bed and the shower/bathroom/toilet was spotless and more than adequate. Breakfast was out of this world. So plentiful and tasty and with some unique and exciting specials too there would be something for everyone. Wooler is a beautiful little town/village and a great starting point for so many local attractions/scenery and freedom. Our hosts? Helen and Geoff are a wonderful down to earth couple who made us feel like we were visiting friends rather than a B & B and are so helpful, warm and welcoming. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Firwood is situated in a beautiful rural location just a mile outside of Wooler where there are a choice of restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and the room was well accoutred. The peace and quiet of the lovely garden was a welcome break from the daily hustle and bustle. There is so much to do and see in the surrounding area that we hope to be able to visit again soon.
Cons: One small niggle, the power points were turned off each day and (as my partner forgot his charging cable for his hearing aids!) I came back to find that my device had not charged. It is one of those facts of modern life that we all have devices which have to be charged every day.

Cons: Faultless...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent. Everything was there for all possible tastes and the lady who looked after the dining room was very efficient and friendly.
Cons: The restaurant is part of the pub area and had a Meal Deal of a steak dinner for two with a bottle of wine for £24. This was a very good deal and the wine was excellent and suited our taste. The only issue was that we had to ask that the table was cleaned as there were a number of glass ring marks. Also, the meal was tepid at best and we again had to ask for it to be heated. this indicates that it was lying waiting for a while after being prepared. This lets the experience down and is a pity as the steak was very tasty when properly heated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: On arrival we were warmly greeted by Sam and Bill. The greeting made you feel right at home. The hotel in itself was special with its quirky interior. The rooms were top notch each having their own theme. The staff were courteous, polite and friendly which made our stay that much more enjoyable. Special mention has to go to the hotel chef. Every meal we had was first class and you could see the attention to detail in every plate. All in all a wonderful experience and a big thank you to Bill, staff and of course Sam.

6.7 Good
Pros: Nice breakfast, good bed and clean room/bathroom.
Cons: Very very noisy at nights, I guess that only happens on weekends but there was a group of people fighting and make an horrendous noise at 1am. They were drunk after drinking in the pub downstairs and the one next door. I could fall asleep when they decided going home at 2am. I recommend avoiding pub inns over weekends.

Pros: Rooms clean and bed comfortable.
Cons: Noisy as dog was barking in nearby room.
7.9 Good
Pros: The beds were very comfortable, the room was nice and clean, we were delighted with the beds comfort. It's tricky finding family rooms so we were delighted and there was no extra charge per person, just the room price. Warm atmosphere and the staff were all incredibly friendly.
Cons: it was a family room so the bunk beds were a bit squashed in, in front of the window, which overall made the room a little dark, but there was plenty of room for all of us
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice bright clean large bedroom (room 5), plenty of tea and coffee and bottles of water. Breakfast was excellent though toaster was poor, had to put bread in several times to get it done. Bar meals and beers good value. All staff were great.
Cons: Bathroom very very small and water supply to shower kept going off on a morning.. Hot water took a while to come through.
