The bedroom was a delight Having to wait 5 minutes for the 4th main course to arrive, why did the kitchen not hold back the other 3
Excellent location on top of the cliffs. Nice spacious room, nicely decorated in African lodge-style, spacious bathroom with bath (also for standard room). The bed was very good. Lovely surroundings. Very quiet in the evenings and at night. Nice little garden to relax in by the hotel. Close to lovely villages like le Treport. Possibility to make nice walks up the cliffs, beach and in the forest. The excellent location and room make this hotel well worth the visit. The quality of the food in the restaurant was okay but not excellent. For the high prices you'd expect better food. Breakfast at €16 a person too expensive. No fridge or minibar in the room. No other restaurants available in Bois de Cise.
The location and view was fantastic, as was the food. In the neighbourhood there are some very nice places to visit (Ault, St. Valery and Dieppe).
The hotel was beautifully located on the cliff overlooking the gorgeous panaramic view of Le Cise bay which is completely stunning! We took the Junior suite and after a hard cycle from Honfleur we arrived to find a bottle of champagne chilling in the room which was a real treat! We enjoyed a really gourmet, fabulous dinner that evening and a tasty breakfast to stoke us up for the days cycle ahead (we were working our way from Cherbourg to Calais). The hotel room was picturesque and really modernly decorated - very aesthetic! Looking forward to a return visit! The staff were generally very nice and chatty and helpful a few though were not.
The location is beautiful and easily accessible from Calais. We were in an executive double room which was a good size with an excellent view over the sea from double glass doors. There was a balcony but it provided the only access to three rooms, so it was not private. The people next door had to walk through our bit to get into their room. They were very discreet and tried not to look into our room - but we needed to close the curtains sometimes! The decor was light and bright and the shower was great. Staff were friendly and did their best to accommodate us especially when our phone and WIFI didn't work. We arrived just as the restaurant had stopped serving lunch. People were still eating so we asked for a drink - we hadn't stopped on our journey from Calais. We were told no, as this was a restaurant not a bar. We went for a walk as our room wasn't ready, to see if we could get a drink, but there is nothing in the area. When we got back the waiter, who showed us to our room said the nearest place to get a drink was 15 minutes away. (It is actually a 5 minute drive). I speak French so he hadn't misunderstood. We asked for room service and he said he would send his colleague to us. Nobody came and the phone in our room did't work, so we went out and didn't bother with hotel services again. Reception was manned by staff doubling up jobs.
We enjoyed the quiet and tranquility. The accomodations were simple but about what we expected. Front desk staff had very little to no English (which matched our French). Made some things a bit more difficult but not imposible.
staff were excellent. Food was very good * Bath plug too small, and water ran out as fast as it ran in.For the price I would have anticipated office to be open earlier in morning.
clean, comfortable, great food, good value for money
It's a very well presented hotel with nice grounds There was only one member of staff on duty during the evening, and she seemed to be doing everything from serving drinks to cooking and answering the reception phone
location Very difficult to find even with sat nav
A unique, idiosyncratic place. Full of surprises and charm. A lovely old building which has been designed internally with great imagination using old wood and found ojects. A lovely breakfast in front of a huge roaring fire. Only drawback is toilets not part of the en suite arrangements...and a little far from evening meal opportunities.
Peaceful atmosphere No restaurant
An easy to find hotel in a nice quiet location close to an attractive seaside town. Good sized room and a reasonable choice of breakfast available. If I was in the area again I would be happy to return.
Ease of access and general high standards Bar food and facilities (table height) could be better. An out of town hotel needs a restaurant
Weird decor in room
Very good bath and bathroom. great views from the window of the beach and town. Noise from other rooms, no lift in building making it difficult to carry heavy bags upstairs.
Excellent restaurant. Very clean rooms, sea view. Friendly staff. Poor carpetting in reception and stairs. No lift. No shower in all rooms.
The hotel is located on a very beautiful place - on the beach. We had to be there at 2000 which ruined a little bit our plans (after a call we could come a little later, but still we didnt get a feeling we have the room if we would go to do our things). The room was very small. Many practical things were absent (hooks, shelfs, soap place etc). For one night is okay.
Location - right on the sea front - free parking where available We were a couple travelling with our dog (a golden rettreiver weighing 49kg). The room we got was barely bigger than a cuboard. Barly big enough for two adults let alone a dog as well. The room was on the third floor with no lift. The en-suite was a joke. Unless you were under four feet in height it was impossible to access the wash hand basin without decapitating yourself on the shelf above! The extract air vents were filty. The checkin staff were great and spoke some english - at a later time we were very rudely interogated regarding our prescence in the hotel and there was a complete lack of check out staff and could not raise any member of staff at 7.30 am when we had to keave to get our ferry
good position on sea front Car parking impossible. Expensive food/drink
Nice Seaside Hotel with a very good restaurant.
It was as expected just a basic hotel but probably a little expensive for what you get.
Small typical French sea-side hotel. Seems to be family run. They don't speak much English but try to help. Room was large and clean and had an excellent bathroom. More or less what we expected for the place and price. Pity they donlt keep the room availability up to date! However, there was no problem with an alternative. The restaurant is quite expensive - almost as much as the room. Try alternatives! Also - as in so many places in France - if you are vegitarian (as my partner is) you'd better like omelettes!
We had a good view of the sea, a good sized room/bathroom and it was clean and comfortable. Very pretty sea front location, excellent promenade for nice after dinner walks - weather permitting. Le Treport is very close if you want a more lively atmosphere. Staff were all very pleasant but the service was a bit disjointed/inconsistent. First evening we had 3 different people serving us but not sure if they communicated properly. Realised too late that we had only had 3 of our 4 courses. Breakfast arrangement was not explained to us either on arrival or on first morning - suppose everyone thought someone else had already done so - we watched the other guests the first day to see where things were. Some mornings we were offered hot milk with our breakfast coffee others we weren't so used the cold from the buffet - depended who was on duty.
Location on seafront in the nicest little seaside town in Northern France. Big rooms, recently refurbished. Make sure you get a room with a sea view.
