9.3 Excellent
Pros: This was a beautifully presented hotel. Internally it looked like a designer hotel, with the most amazing furniture and fitments. Our room was lovely. Lovely outside space at the hotel. The hosts could not have been more helpful and friendly. They recommended the most amazing wine tour.
Cons: I would say it is a little out of the way for the Rioja wine area. The village lacked a good choice of places to eat. We returned from a days tour to find somebody had tidied all of our belongings away bags and loose clothing. Felt like we were being told not to leave the place untidy.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at XXXXXX was nothing short of exceptional! Here is why: Location - While the town is tiny and a little removed from the rest, this was actually a benefit to us. We were only a 5min drive from Ezcaray, a bigger town where all the noise was. The wineries were also about a 30min drive, but it was so scenic, we didn’t mind. Accommodation - beautiful, charming rooms, very clean, and had all the necessities, including a blow dryer that was much better than the typical cheap one found at hotels. Staff - probably my favorite part. I felt at home. Everyone smiled and greeted us from the first moment, but you could tell they were all so genuine about it. Their attention was so personalized down to each of our individual needs. For instance, my sister and I cannot have lactose, and they managed to find soy milk for us on short notice. Also, one night we didn't finish our bottle of wine, and they stored it for us to have during the afternoon of the following day. Food - Their restaurant is delicious and such a beautiful atmosphere! We ended up eating there, out on the terrace both nights. Everything was so well made and their croquetas won a very well-deserved award, so definitely must try! Cost - not expensive, not cheap, but high quality service. Well worth it.

We booked into this hotel far in advance with the expectation of having dinner there but arrived in town in Oct. only to find that nearly all restaurants were closed on a Tuesday evening, including Casa Massip.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming despite the fact that they were not expecting us (we booked last minute and they hadn’t seen the booking and had actually closed the hotel but they still let us stay when we arrived and they saw the booking. We were impressed that in those circumstances they were still able to provide us with a tasty, hot dinner and some very good wine!

Cons: Squeaky floorboards in Room 13
7.5 Good
Pros: Location to ski slopes and staff friendly.

Pros: The man at the front desk was super friendly. The area is peaceful surrounded by nature. The had a fire place in the dinning room that was perfect for our stormy day visit.
Cons: we arrived at night time and parking was not clearly marked. It took us several attempts and errors before we arrived at the correct parking lot.
