Extra charges for use of facilities, Ie swimming pool.
Service déplorable. Très loins d'un 5 étoiles.
Good price - value ratio It is a good hotel, but definitely not 5 star by any standards
Very comfortable athmosphere Pool closed (bad weather)
I can't consider it a five star hotel - maybe it has been several years ago... but the room now is not adequate to the rating.
Room and breakfast Price of car parking. They charge full day even if staying just overnight.
The price was reasonable and the hotel was decently close to the center of town. The room was quite old looking and really needs a face-lift. The location was constantly filled with aggressive pan-handlers.
The staff are superb! we choose this hotel every time we travel up to Porto.Velean rooms, pleasent staff. There is smoking in the lounge which makes it uncomfortable, as Im alargic, so I cant use the lounge.
I did not like to have a drug junkie parking cars in front of the main door at the hotel. Also I did not like to pay to use the pool.
I stayed at the pool floor, on the top level, renewed and with a superb view over the city, with a nice swimming pool that should be terrific... during summer time:) I made a mess of my suit during dinner, and I asked if they could clean it up in the hotel laundry. I found out lather on that they didn't felt comfortable clean it, as that was not their specialty, so they took it out to a professional dry cleaning. thank you! Forget facilities, great service, wonderful people, is the true spirit of 5 stars hotels, and Ipanema Park staff has it.
Execelent breakfast Carpets in the room and below average bedding. No Tea/Coffee making facility and ironing board not available
Most of the staff were very attentive and helpful in their suggestions of how to get around the surrounding area, and especially when we lost a wallet - they made many attempts to get it back and despite being unsuccessful we really appreciated it.
Easy check-in and parking was a big plus; next to a large shopping center; staff helped us to find the hotel. 15 min by foot to the metro; breakfast was OK [could have been better]
the fact that was in a safe and elegance area. The breakfast was so poor, that can't imagine
Mainly the value for quality
everything was ok. I had already stayed at this hotel before and liked it, so I chose it again
The parking spaces are very small and they aren't that many. The room had the toilet flusher broken, and they put me just right to the stairs. At night you can hear people walking in the stairs, so be sure not to get a room next to the stairs/elevator. After that they changed me from room and everything was ok. I didn't like the parking spaces and the time they took to tell me that the flusher was broken and that i needed to change room - took me to complaint 3 times for them to say that that i needed to change room.
The hotel staff are very helpfull and the room was beyond my expectation
location of hotel Breakfast is rather simple (not a big trouble). Do not expect terrace with wonderful sight (it is fair mainly in summer)
location close to family and shopping. a bit noisy
Nice rooms and lovely breakfast. Reception staff, very lousy not interested at all. I had to talk to 3 or 4 of them and they were all plain and tasteless service wise.
The center proximity. No.
Very comfortable family two-rooms suite, well sound-isolated, good breakfast with a rich assortiment, the hotel is easy to find from the highway A29 to Porto.
The staff were nice and maybe even too zealous (our towels were changed every day even though we followed the instructions available to signal that we didn't need that). The location was excellent and even after missing the last metro/bus we got back ok after a nice stroll through an extremely chilled-out Porto. It would have been great if some of the lovely Portuguese pastries had made their way into the breakfast menu ... :) However, all the other extremely good things about the hotel (including the good bus connections into town, handy restaurants across the street and supermarket around the back) outweigh anything else.
It is clean, the staff is friendly. There is now gym. The food is terrible.
Everething was nice and fine No
The helpful staff on reception.
The friendliness and profetional manner in wich we were attended. And the effort ALL staff made to speak to us in English.
Very clean, confortable, wonderful breakfast Nothing
Staff friendliness and relaxed attitude No
Nice well located hotel with helpful and friendly staff
The breakfest and the room
Nice owners. good breakfast. new towels everyday Bit far away from the city to walk but a underground very close by.
good value B&B, small but clean room, and 15 min walk into Ribiera so suited us well for a 1 night stop over
Great B&B, easy access to the Ribiera etc - 15 - 20 mins walk, 2 mins Metro Guimaraes, 904 bus stops on street leaving town, street behind to go into centre. Breakfast is fine, rolls, ham, cheese, croissant, yogurt, juice, fruit, coffee, plenty to fill you up. Many cafes locally offering great value for money and basic Portugese meals. Staff very helpful in the Residencial. Very good value for money - certainly recommend if you don't mind staying just a tiny bit out of the centre. Nice decanter of Port from the owners! Ask for a rear room - smaller but quieter.
Street-side room is very noisy, the sound like sleeping in the street.
The staff is great and very helpful. They provided us with very detailed info/map about what to visit and are very friendly.
Welcoming and nice staff. Clean. Not so far from city center. It is okay for couple of days, if one doesn't look for luxury. Cold (no heating). No elevator.
The owners of the hotel were extremely helpful, giving us information about the cityand transportation. also, the hotel is in a great location, near a metro station
Small family run hotel, close to the metro station (for those coming from the airport) in a 10-15 min distance to the city centre. Seemed to be a safe place, didn’t have any problems by coming home late at night. The room wasn’t that fancy, but clean and comfortable. Great price for value, excellent place to stay for those who are spending more time in the city, rather than in a hotel. Big thanks to the owners, their advices helped much more than any touristic book.
Very friendly and helpful staff - a lot of good advices and interesting information about Porto. Standard good for this price. We had room at the back, so it was quiet.
easy to find and not far from porto airport
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel Tryp Porto Expo is conveniently located to Oporto Airport. It is a tidy, modern, business hotel, across the road from a large conference centre, with free car parking. If you book a room when no conference is occurring you can expect a very good rate.
staff attitude was first class. pol closes too ealry opens too late
The beds were clean and comfortable and staff very friendly. It is situated right next to Exponor. The walls, carpets and chairs in the room 304 were a a little dirty and had stains on them. The buffet breakfast was just ok.
Closeness to where I was working & the airport
Staff was very helpful and considerate. Shuttle service did not start in time to get us to the airport for our flight.
convenient location, polite, friendly welcome, good internet facilities, great beds, good airport shuttle service. nothing, it was great
Pretty good hotel, although basic. Staff helpful. Ideal for an Ikea shopping trip!
The most positive aspect and probably the only reason I would go back is the Hotel location, regarding my needs, as it is accross the road from Exponor. I think the Hotel charges too much for a room. They are charging more than 90% of the Hotels in Porto for the season. They have a long way to go on improvemnets to justify their daily rate.
the hotel was handy for the early start at the airport as it is nice and close, excellent breakfast
very good service in many languages, very clean and breakfast included very good and lots of it
Good, clean, inexpensive, comfortable accommodations with a great staff
Very clean, goog location a good price including breakfast
near metro station, good conection with the centre of the city the staff didn't speak english
Close to city center. Hotel staff is very kind and helpful. Rooms are tidy.Overall it is very good value for money. A bit noisy as the walls are very thin. You can hear your neighbours' life.
The price and place, near to city center Cold also it is wet
Excellent hotel, friendly cheerful staff, fine breakfast. Room rather small and cramped, but clean and immaculate.
The hotel is realy good bargain. It was a nice suprice when after a long journey we entered our room and found some fruites and cakes on the table. Great location - next to metro - you can easily get to and from the airport, or you can walk to the city center in about 15 minutes. The hotel is next to the quite street so you can get a good night sleep. Not all of the staff speak English well but you can easily get along with them. Good breakfast - cheese, meat, tea, coffee, milk, juice, cakes, marmelade, fruites, yoghurt, corn flakes. Room wasn't spaciuos but clean and tidy. There is internet in the cafe.
Some of the staff excellent, very accommodation and helpful; very clean, room cleaned every day though bedding not changed everyday. Room facilities as advertised on web did not exist ie tea making facilities, ironing facilities and availability of fridge/microwave. These were only available in the breakfast room.
the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff location was a bit average
I've alwaays liked to stay at your place.
One of these hotels you have to visit to find out the charme of Portugal. Although in the hart of the city is has a big garden. The rooms are situated around the garden in cabins. The architecture is beautiful, an oasis. Bathroom is minimalistic comfortwise but clean.
Very well located, comfortable. Quiet place in the center of the city. Interesting architecture. As usually in hotels not enough shelves and place in bathroom to put cosmetics and cloths
the place is really nice and realxing, altough it's location. The breakfast was nice, so was the staff.
the cat living there, she came to our room to see us off when the day we leave the hotel. that was so sweet. and the hotel was so unique. the staff at reception are friendly, but not so helpful very much. i like them though. and the staff at restaurant are so kind and nice.
the original features like chandeliers and furniture in keeping with the style and date of the Hotel. The staff were also very friendly it was a bit of walk from the main attractions, which wouldn't be a problem if the weather was good, but we had quite a bit of rain on our visit.
This charming hotel with its lovely decor is still being sympathetically renovated. The short walk to the metro system means you are within reach of all areas. This was our second visit, it is good value, we love this hotel.
The atmosphere and the place is marvellous it's like living in a castle... A place where you have to stay almost once in your life It's 20 minutes walking from the centre downhill going to the centre uphill coming back but the place is so wonderful that you can walk
A very nice stop half-way between Lisbon and O Porto. The hotel is charmingly quaint, pink walls, old-fashioned furniture and pictures, beautiful trees and flowers; the swimming-pool garden is simply lovely. Kind a helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Had we known about all that can be seen in the surroundings, we would have stayed longer. Luso is worth more than a one-night stay.
Individual, interesting hotel. Great Interior and Exterior decor. Off road parking free of charge. Garden to sit in. Great breakfast. Aircom in Garden rooms although we didn't require it. Good value for money and allowed pets at no extra charge in Garden rooms Slightly away from the main town. Approx. 20 minutes walk and return is mainly up hill!
The room as ok and the staff was friendly. The location was great. The room wasn't ready when we arrived and it was after 13h00 and the air conditioning was leaking.
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff; lovely experience. Great value for the money. Within 2 blocks of the Porto metro system!
The staff was very welcoming, we had a nice time, the room was clean, very close to the bus station. The rooms are very small.
Everything! I cannot say enough great things about the hotel staff. They were amazingly friendly and they worked incredibly hard to make our stay wonderful. They gave us a lot of excellent advice on the area, and thanks to them we were able to maximize our time in Porto.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. They are happy to give advice and answer any questions about the city, sightseeing, transport etc. within the sphere of their knowledge. Close to Metro station. Room was tiny and the location was quite far away from the city centre to walk. This is not a huge problem for a short stay especially given the helpfullness of the staff and proximity to Metro stop. But for slightly more money I probably could have stayed closer to the city center.
the staff very helpful near by the street
The extra space reserved for smokers and the kindness of the reception staff. the objects forgotten during our stay were still available on request one week later Room size is limited
Located in a quiet area. My room had a brand new (but small) bethroom with an ultra modern shower The room was slighty cramped
friendly staff the room was very very small - very little floor space to walk around the bed and move to the bathroom
- Proximity to tube station (approx. 8 min walking distance) - Personnel's politeness and willingness to help
-Excellent reception, a family owned and operated hotel, with a very personal attention, they even helped calling the airport about a missing bag, the cleanliness better than in a 5-star hotel, and a good breakfast. None.
Staff was incredibly helpful. One of our group needed a taxi at 5am and we speak almost no Portuguese. At 5am a taxi was waiting for us. Amigo Jose was incredibly accommodating. A little outside of the center. For us that was fine, but some might not like to walk as much as we do.
The hotel is very nice, very very clean, and wifi is free. The personnel reception is very welcoming. José, we have to thank you for your smile and your advices The hotel is near a bus stop (frequent), but a little far from metro stations. However, the tickets cost 1.5 euros, which makes it a little expensive to travel to the city center. Heating was a little slow in the room.
Very friendly staff, next to the metro and bus. Just 15 minutes on foot up to city centre. The owner speaks english. Nothing, in my opinion.
The staff was very friendly, the location of the hotel is in typical Porto district , so you'll get a taste of what the city is like instantly.
Everything! This was the highlight of our trip, we felt we found a gem of a hostel. It's family run, and the family are just lovely. Mr Jose and his son were delightful, helpful on all counts, even escorting us to a post office one day as we couldn't find it!! Hotel premesis was a lovely 100yr old building which felt really typical. Room was very clean, sheets were changed everyday. Breakfast was simple but very nice. Centre of town was a short bus ride away. All in all a lovely experience. No problems at all would definately recommend this place.
The kindness of the staff and the cleanliness of the room. A little too expensive for an hotel not located in the center of the city
The staff were very friendly and helpful, able to answer questions and provide information about buses and the Metro, value-for-money places to eat in the locality. The room, although small, was spotlessly clean. The residencial was safe and secure.
Bed was very comfy. Lovely clean room and very helpful friendly staff. A great stay. None
I chose this residencial because of the other comments and the proximity of my friends' appartment. Indeed, José is very helpful, the hotel is nice and comfortable and the breakfast is simple but good. A solid choice. As for me, I needed to be around the Paranhos area. But for people visiting Porto it's not the closest hotel to the centre.
the room. no.
nice helpful staff and location
The hotel was lovely but there is nothing to do in the area, not for tourist. The beach was 40 mins walk away, its along walk.....
Staff very friendly and helpful. They speak French and English. Room spacious and comfortable. Basic gym available for free. Steam room and sauna for 5€. We booked for one night and finally stayed for two. Good value for money. Problem with hot water. We did not have really hot water in the room and were told that it takes time to go through the system if hotel is empty (out of main touristic season).
Very kind staff, the facilities are good and the hotel is well located and quiet. The jacuzzi wasn't warm and the turkish bath was cold
The breakfast is the best aspect of this hotel, and the possibility to borrow bikes for touring. The hotel is awkward in several ways. The church bells (300m away) can be heard from 7 am onwards. The pillows were spongy, and the door to the balcony did not close perfectly (room 101).
Pleasant facilities, huge bed and quiet room
lovely staff, nice rooms- simple, but spacious and clean. good facilities. very quiet. big beds. 10 out of 10. nothing that i personally disliked- however if i had been there mid summer when it was very hot i might have found it a bit out of the way- 10-15 minute walk to the train station, 30-45 minutes to beach.
The proximity to Lisbon without having to pay for parking. The oportunity to the beaches and historic sights.
quiet, large rooms, friendly staff, Internet access for free no furniture on the balcony, the location (Esmoriz is not a very nice city), the are no English or French speaking staff in the Restaurant
The hotel was clean and modern, the staff helpful and friendly. The shower was a bit substandard (temperature and pressure variable). The Restaurant was closed on the Sunday night of our stay - which was a nuisance as we'd been looking forward to eating there. However, we were able to find a very friendly Portuguese place in the town - great food at very reasonable price.
Good, modern and spacious hotel apartment with friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Nice place to stay if you have a car and want to explore the Douro region. It is a long way from Porto centre and deceiving in its description.
The very friendly staff and the good location in a quiet area
Clean, well appointed room and very good value. I arrived at 10.00pm as the restuarant was closing but they stayed open for me and provided soup and an omelete No
Very clean, nice apartment, good equipment. Wireless internet is not avaiable in all rooms. Only few parking places.
Lovely well designed, clean hotel , well mannered helpful staff, well worth the money would 100% return at a later date. Pool would be nice and slightly more variety for breakfast would be good
Nice room, with a lot of space, two LCD TV. Air conditioning not working.
Service, hotel cleanliness, breakfast internet wifi
It was close to the centre of town The hotel is on a main road with heavy traffic all through the day & night - very noisy. The road was dirty & full of empty houses. Rooms were clean but beds old & uncomfortable.
The location was close to the historical centre and the main bridge. Walking distance to everything. Lots of cafés in the area for having a breakfast. A very nice landlady. Very hard beds and no heating. There was a lot of traffic outside so the room was very noisy.
Great value for money, centrally located. The manager, Claudia, was always very helppful. No lift.
The staff was very pleasant and the location is great, in the city centre from where everything is close!
Some fans or air conditioning would be nice!
