Pros: Beautiful place, peaceful, and cozy. Very close to the entrance of Zhangjiajie. The hosts are very kind and wonderful people. This was our favorite place on our whole 3 week trip. Hom was also incredibly helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Definitely recommend getting a driver through them, the driver who picked us up from the airport and drove us on a day trip to Furong ancient town was very professional and knew the roads very well.
Cons: Definitely recommend getting a driver through them, the driver who picked us up from the airport and drove us on a day trip to Furong ancient town was very professional and knew the roads very well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible location in the forest. Total tranquility. Very cosy traditional houses reformed to meet the modern needs. Spotless clean, hot water, great mattresses and blankets. The place has great atmosphere day and night. We enjoyed the evening fire, the bears in the bar and the rich chinese and western breakfast. One of the places we will always remember. Hom who was in charge of running the place was extremely polite and helpful, so great service too.
Cons: The only thing we missed was the pool - it was not filled with water and it was hot enough to jump in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This guesthouse was the best experience we’ve ever had. The family was so warm to welcome you. Hom was the best host and speak wonderful English! The glasshouse was beautiful and the breakfast and diner were good. We really felt at home at this place. Please go there, you wouldn’t regret!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff who provided us with invaluable advice about places to visit in the Forest Park. Great breakfast. Beautiful room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay here - Hom was very friendly and helpful, and spoke great English, and the owners were gracious hosts. We ate many meals at the restaurant - the food was delicious and reasonably priced, and often we were provided with little complimentary extras like fruit or vegetables. We enjoyed the property - the rooftop platform provided some great views, and there were chairs just outside our room where we could sit and enjoy the scenery. Every night the staff built a roaring fire, and it was nice to sit around with a drink and enjoy the company of other guests. We stayed in the wooden house - it felt like an apartment, with a large bed on the ground floor and plenty of space upstairs for the kids. It was clear the owners and staff wanted to ensure our comfort - when we arrived our room wasn't ready, so they offered us a vacant room to relax in. We were also pleasantly surprised that when the room across from us became vacant, the hotel offered the use of it free of charge for the last two nights of our stay, so we had even more space. There was certainly lots to do in the surrounding area - with the Forest Park only a 2km walk or quick bus ride away, and many of the other nearby sites easily accessible by bus. We were also able to charge some activities to the room, and pay with a western credit card when we checked out.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Once the climb is managed the location is idyllic, a beautiful lodge in the forest. One could say that the bedrooms are works of art. The staff is hard-working, held together for visitor by Hom whose support is unflagging, speaking excellent English.
Cons: The climb up to the lodge can be challenging for not so young and arthritic especially early on a wet morning.. .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a bit of a hike (500 steps) to access the property but that is part of what adds to its charm. The property is secluded, very quiet, and has a small village feel to it. There is a communal fire pit in the evening and a small dining room for breakfast and dinner so there is an easy interaction with the other guests and the also the staff who are very accommodating and helpful. The menu of food available is a good variety of Chinese dishes and very tasty. There are many different types of accommodation options to fit the single trekker thru to a large family or group. The beds are very comfortable, the showers hot and the beer is cold which overall made it a great place to return to after long days of hiking in the parks.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very cute mgortable beds, breakfast included, free snacks all day long, Hom spoke very good English, heating unit in our room dried the laundry.
Cons: 550 steps up to reach the guest house, meal prices a little on the high side.

Pros: Great location away from the hustle and bustle of the city and super rural. The hotel is so close to the less busy side of the park which is great as you avoid the crowds! We just walked into the entrance every day which was only around 10mins walk. The staff are super lovely and helpful and even made us dumpling soup for breakfast one day as we said how much we love dumplings. Be aware if you only speak English to have a translation app on your phone as it’s super easy to get confused in the National Park. The chair lift close to the hotel is amazing! The staff go above and beyond to help and were so lovely to deal with. We would definitely come back!
Cons: It was all great!

One day she knew we had gone to the mountains at it was raining and we came back to our room cleaned with the heater on. The staff here are very relaxed and make it feel more like a homestay than a corporate hostel. We were very comfortable, thanks.

Pros: The store service is good, close to the scenic spot, Zhangjiajie is really beautiful
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very big and clean room. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and we could have asked him for anything if we wanted to. The hotel is not directly at the entrance to the park (about 20-30 minutes walk to the next village) but therefore you’re in a small village with some super markets and restaurants. In the Morning, the owner was so kind to drive us to the entrance gate of the park, although there are buses running you could use :) Great stay all in all!

Pros: Everybody was really kind! The hotel is located in the town of Jangjiajie and you really get to see the authenticity of how the locals live! Traveling to the entrance of the Geopark wasn’t a problem at all, only a few minutes ride.

Pros: Rain was an excellent host - friendly and exceedingly helpful! Beautiful location! Quiet and outstanding scenery. Food was lovely!
Cons: Check in did not cater well for a foreign traveller without access to wechat pay or debit/credit cards. Generosity of staff helped to resolve the situation but it was a slightly off-putting start.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great time at No.5 Valley Lodge, staying in the Garden Loft. Jonathan our host was friendly and very helpful in providing information about the park. The shuttle service to the park was well-organized and took 5 minutes. The food was delicious!

Pros: The property is amazing. Super clean and comfortable. Great sunsets by the pool. The staff was super accommodating and professional. Food was excellent. Pros: Great location and view. Very comfortable
Cons: Noise from other rooms. Organisation. Staff try their best but sometimes inefficient or too sticky all the time
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our 4-night stay at No.5 Valley which offered a peaceful and rural stay up in the mountains and very close to the main entrance to Zhangjiajie National Park. Our private butler Rain was fantastic and provided us with all the information we needed during our stay, both for our trips into the park and organising our meals at the hotel. Breakfast was included each day and was excellent. Evening meals again were excellent and even though some dishes were the same on a few of the days we really didn't mind as they were so delicious. We had a fantastic time, thank you to all the staff who made us fee very welcome.

Pros: Carol is really welcoming and nice. When you have any question or need anything, she's always here to help you. The food was good, the rooms were nice. We recommand this place !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. The room was very nice and comfortable but best of all was Carol who went out of her way to assist us with anything we needed. The staff was very friendly, food was excellent. I would stay here again.
Cons: Can’t think of anything I didn’t like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very kind and helpful which made my stay in Zhangjiajie even better! The hotel is close to the park entrance. The (local) food freshly prepared at the hotel is a true recommendation. I wish I had stayed longer.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Carol speaks English very well and can arrange about anything you want. Her mom is adorable and the best cook.
Cons: The beds were rather hard.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Carol was very nice, she speaks good English and she answered at all our questions. The breakfast was not in time, but the weather was foggy so we don't mind. (if the weather was good, this aspect would bother me). Rooms ware nice
7.9 Good
Pros: The host
Cons: The rest room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff, very sweet and accommodating. Amazing location close to Yangjiajie ticket gate.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was not so bad. Location is very good for the National park, not for the Tianmen mountain and Glass bridge.
Cons: The view wasn't what we expected as they told us and wrote on the notification.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: - The owner seemed on a 24/7 watch when it came to helping us out in weird and distressing situations. Whatever shortcomings the hotel has is nothing compared to her help. Nobody speaks English or accepts foreign cards in the area, so she'll be your lifesaver. - The dinner we ordered once was superb: mixed vegetables and dumplings. 45 yuan per person - the Yangjajie entrance to the park is 3 minutes away
Cons: - The closest atm that accepts foreign cards is near another entrance to the park. You'll have to walk a little and ride the free buses within the park and then exit the park to get there - no heating. Ig felt a little cold at the beginning of November - foreign cards are not accepted

5.0 Okay
Pros: Great location, good food
Cons: We check in at 1 AM after a very long train journey. We were asked for a deposit of 200yuan, which we gave after having seen the room. Unfortunately, we failed to check a window which was hidden by the curtains. More on this later. Firstly, the beds were extremely hard, which is common for china. Secondly, we had a huge insect in our bathroom resembling a Scorpio which scare us. Thirdly, no cleaning service was provided during our entire stay. Lastly, at check out, it turns out this window was broken from the inside, which wouldn’t have been us since we didn’t touch the window during our entire stay because we were enjoying the sound of crickets at night. Carole and her sister insisted it was our fault and refused to give us our deposit back, despite our arguing for some time. They suggested that we cheat on booking.com by cancelling our reservation which would have helped them not pay for the booking fee and would have therefore given us the deposit back. However, we refused since our credit card was linked to the reservation and we didn’t know if we would then be charged twice for no show of whatever. Then, Carole and her sister had the service center on the phone and refused to let us leave to catch our train. We almost had to leave by foot to get another taxi. Then, we called customer help from booking which was completely useless and unwilling to help us. Overall such a shame to end on this negative experience with customer service when we actually had quite a nice stay.
7.0 Good
Pros: Carol was absolutely fantastic in helping book our trips and tickets. Her English is excellent and she is very friendly and helpful! The location is super for getting into the main park too.
Cons: The mattresses were very hard and not overly comfortable. We also had a surprise bill for breakfast drinks which we thought would be included.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was great literally a short walk from the ticket office. Staff were very friendly and very helpful, even helped me set up a day trip to Tianmen Mountain.
Cons: You will be asked for an extra deposit fee. As a foreign you can’t drink the water so I suggest going to the supermarket and buying a few jugs of water unless you want to pay 3 yuan from the hotel or 5 at the park.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host did a great job explaining us a route for the day. we travel with dogs and they were very welcoming to them. which made us also feel at home. they even suggested us to take the dogs into the park, which we did and it worked out. first time ever in China! We loved the room, the common balcony and the food as well. we will definitely come back if we are in the neighborhood.
Cons: The hostel is located in a small village which we loved. I could stay many more days. I am only writing it because there is nothing else to say, just that it is not that close to the more touristy side like Wulingyuan.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Carol is the sweetest, she was always willing to help with everything. The hotel is very clean and well mantained, the bathroom was huge and the room very clean an comfortable. We didn´t have other guests in the property so it was very calm and enjoyable even hanging out in the terrace.
Cons: The hotel is next to one of the entrances to the National Park (but not the main one). They didn´t accept our credit card even though in their profile they say they do. You need to pay everything with credit card and they don´t have any ATMs around (or anything else for that matter). The closest town is a 10 min ride so you don´t have any options for food or anything around. Their food was good but overpriced (in the end you pay whatever they charge because you don´t have any other options)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: -Carol and her whole family were amazing. They are very helpful and know great trips and recommend great spots. -Their food for the breakfast and in the evenings was also good. -The location is amazing for exploring the Zhangjiajie area. Very close to the ticket office. -Their taxi service from the train station to the inn is really helpful and worth it.
Cons: -The prices for snacks and water were a bit high in the hostel. There is a very small "supermarket" really close to the ticket office which offers everything significantly cheaper (like 50% cheaper). -The neighbors in the next house which doesn't belong to the inn were too loud in the evenings, but that wasn't the fault of the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One step to heaven inn owner is just great! She booked every attraction for us in a park and organised whole trip! Thansk So much!
6.7 Good
Pros: The room was clean, clean bedsheets, AC, hot water
Cons: First of all, this place is located 500m from Park entrance. Not possible to call taxi from the airport at all, I had to ask for a help. Cold at this time, bring more warm clothes. The only place you can eat breakfast /dinner is the hotel, because there's nothing around, so it is overpriced. If you want to go to popular park places, it is hard to come back to Yangjiajie! I was having hard time coming back from Wulingyuan(another park entrance), they don't have direct transportation, so you have to take city bus for ¥10 from a bus station, then enter the park at senlin Park, take a bus to another place, then climb a hill, and take another 2 buses! You have to manage to do it until 5-6pm, otherwise you can't come back. The room balcony door was broken, I had to ask twice to close it. The toilet was not properly fixed! No cleaning during my 3 nights stay. I don’t recommend this place, unless you want to see some park views at this side. No English speaking stuff, I spoke in Chinese.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner. Very kind, helpfull and wiling. Property was clean and alright
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place to stay. The property took me by motor bike to the park entrance and cable car as it is a bit of a walk. I took the local bus 13 rmb ($2) from Zhangjiajie train station/bus station and got off at the last stop. (About 1.5 hours..some rough road) I called the property for a pick up from there but they don't speak english and didn't know what I wanted. Instead I walked from there (had the name printed on paper in chinese) almost to the entrance (probably 25 minutes with my pack) and at the corner store the store keeper called for me to get a pick up when I showed him the address. Nice area, very quiet and rooms are great! They have a honey bee hive at the place too! (barrels)
Cons: The bed was just TOO hard. Nice linen tho. It would have been better to have some english. The phone translator is not always very great. The young person with the motorcycle (photo) was very helpful and knew everything I needed to do. They sold me the ticket for the cable car too. It's confusing for foreigners. You pay 245rmb to get into the park for 4 days..and 145rmb ($23US) to take the cable car to the top. There you can catch buses every which way. EASY to get lost on the trails too. Not many english signs with directions. Many foreigners were lost when I was up there....me too!
7.9 Good
Pros: It was good value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful and took me to the Yangjiajie ticket office in the morning by motorbike (saves you a 15 minute walk). Room was clean and shower hot. They gave me a ride to the airport for 160, which is not bad since it is far away.
Cons: The property is not near the main entrance, but instead near the yangjiajie entrance. The room is simple (there is a kettle though) and the shower is basically over the toilet bowl (nice hot water though). This is all reflected in the price, I think. The food was not great - a bit salty, but I think I’m a little spoilt! The Tujia chicken is 218 yuan. The broth was gorgeous but too salty.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly place to stay on the edge of the park. The owners are very helpful and will pick you up from the airport or Zhangjiajie town. The property is very close to the West gate (the Yangjiajie scenic area). You need at least 2 full days. Day 1 - take the shuttle to the Yangjiajie cable car then explore the summit. Walk to Tianbo Mansion. Take the upper shuttle bus to First Bridge and the Avatar Mountain. Return the same way & don't miss the last cable car! Day 2 - take the shuttle to the end of the Yangjiajie road then walk 35 minutes to the Yuanjiajie scenic area. Catch the shuttle bus to the Yellow Stone Village cable car and walk the upper circuit. Return and get the shuttle to Golden Whip Stream. (It's a long way to the Tianzi scenic area.)
Cons: It's a long bumpy road.
5.8 Okay
Pros: I liked the Chinese facade of hotel. Bed comfortably, really cold at night but room has good covers and heater.
Cons: Being so inconvenienced every step of the way. I left hotel earlier than expected. The owner seems mostly interested in getting your money. He makes little effort. Nothing is easy here.
