Pros: Breakfast was good.
Cons: Facility was under construction, this had not been screened off and builders, and building were in constant and full view from early in the morning. No mention was made of this fact when booking was made?? Tents were dark, beds were shocking Host was bad tempered and not open to any comments about the facility, in fact became rather abusive and personal when any points of dissatisfaction were discussed. Camp is situated away from the beach, in the village, and is extremely noisy with lots of night activity and trucks/traffic through out the night (apparently due to the construction of a new road to run past the facility)
Pros: Sean is a very welcoming person. we arrived late as we got lost from Swaziland and he was waiting for us. he made us feel at home. breakfast was lovely, the location is perfect, cherry on the cake is that you can reach this place with any car as the tar road from Maputo is finished. Devocean is about 500 metres from the tar road. we were driving a Ford Fiesta. it is close to beach, Ponta Market, the Barracks and pubs, shops and restaurants. there is a petrol station and a bank near by (though i highly recommend to bring as many Rands as you can, it is accepted everywhere). the honest policy was interesting.
Cons: the tents are very basic (bed and space to put clothing), space is shared ( bathroom, coffee station). i stayed there 3 nights and my sheets were never changed. my tend was next to the Boma place and all the smoke flooded my tent (aquarium tent). the geyser was a nightmare, i think it has a timer on hot water after 3 minutes or so the water was cold, i had to change showers 4 x every time i washed, chasing hot water. it frustrated the hell out of me. it was also a pain to wake up at 2am to walk to the bathroom. if camping is not for you, this place is not recommended. for a basic tent it was expensive.
Pros: The owner is the best so is the food.
Cons: The club 600m away had a party with excesive noise untill 06.00 the morning. The owner did take it up with the Police but to no avail
Pros: It is a fantastic budget option with all the basics you need: clean tents, warm water, wifi, a n AMAZING breakfast which is included, free drinking water and coffee and tea. Rooms are even made up each day. Garden is well kept and the friendly owner is nice to chat to. Bonus for us was his 5 year old son so my daughter had a playmate. Also close to most places so easy to walk around.
Cons: Some nights there was loud music during the night in the area. Not at the accommodation. Owner keeps party people away so thats great.
Pros: Remote top location. We had our own pool and big villa. Small paradise at the beach.
Cons: Terrible road condition. Deep sand, especcialy last 30 kilometer. You need a good 4x4 and experienced driver.
Pros: Very peaceful and Mr. Sean and his family were very nice along with the other guests. The tent was spotless with NO insects. The omelette I had for breakfast was one of the best I have ever had. I went there alone and I found it very safe to be there which is very important . The breathtaking beach is just 2-3 min walking distance. I stayed there only for 1 night but the camp and the beach were definitely worth the long drive from maputo.
Pros: Loved the garden atmosphere. Breakfast was amazing every day. We had dinner once and wished we did so more evenings. Piri piri chicken was the best we have had. Sean is an amazing host and really makes an effort to improve the lodge more every day. Was great seeing them make additions to the facilities. Amazing value for money and a great location in Ponta Do Ouro.
Cons: Showers not constant temperature
Pros: Our room was cleaned each day and bed made, the breakfast is amazing! The property is far enough out of the village's noise, but close enough to beach and market! Was a lovely peaceful stay.
Cons: Not allowed to braai in tented area due to smoke, but luckly we were only people in tented camp at the time.
Pros: The beautiful surroundings, the staff and the clean bathrooms

Pros: Very nice owner and manager of the hotel! They were helpful and tried their best. Good breakfast w nice coffee.
Cons: Beds very soft and uncomfortable in our room (pool house). Water leaking from the roof down in our bed during the thunderstorm. Mosquito-nets had a lot of holes -hence many bites.. Area of the hotel a bit dark, no sea-view and no wind (hot and humid). Expensive in relation to standard, opposite of "bang for the buck".
Pros: The hospitality, welcome and advice.
Cons: The cockroaches in the shower! :)
Pros: Nicola is wonderful Deluxe Cabin has a big patio Loved feeding the dogs and cats Full of trees and shade.
Cons: Does not apply
Pros: This is a very friendly place, with a very high level of service. It is a bit off the junction and they drove us to the restaurant we wanted to go to in the evening and to the dive center in the morning. Very helpful. But the location is also an advantage, makes it quiet. Nice restaurant above their private beach, you can walk but bring a flashlight. You can put it on the bill. Good breakfast. Their tap water is purified so you can drink it.
Cons: Added 5% for paying with credit card.
Pros: The reed rooms are quite romantic and feels like you are in nature. Monkeys around the place
Cons: Lots of mosquitoes and some of the Ponta noise even reaches here, but more quiet than in town
Pros: Really appreciated the excellent customer service from Nicola and Mandy in particular who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Pros: Great time at Gala Gala, despite heavy rain during our stay. The owner Bev made sure our visit and access to activities was trouble free. Wonderful breakfast every morning and definitely go to Saffire Sands Restaurant for fresh grilled fish!
Pros: Loved all the amenities in the public space. Was great to hang out there and play cards and just chill. The hammocks are a winner. The owners Bev and Mandy so very helpful and Chantelle was great too making us feel at home. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. Dinner suggestions at Saphire was superb! In the deluxe bungalow the kitchen was well equipped. Really could not fault anything. Thanks for having us. Thanks for the upgrade as well. Much appreciated.
Cons: Beds perhaps a little hard for our liking but honestly that is very minor.
Pros: Nice spot. Clean cabins. Cute sitting area to braai. Good breakfast. Best fish restaurant next door with private beach.
Cons: Bit far from center of town.
Pros: Bev and her colleagues were amazingly helpful, they went more than the extra mile to assist in car getting stuck, keys getting lost and numerous other small acts of kindness. I would recommend their lodge and services to anyone!

Pros: Jorge was super helpful. I paid for.a dorm but got upgraded.
Cons: The location is a little out of the way and hard to find at night
Pros: Good Breakfast, Very accommodating staff
Cons: First night of our stay was okay although there was no hot water and dysfunctional toilet Second night was better even though the toilet issue was not fixed
Pros: Has a grill and a pool
Cons: Fans didn’t work properly, it was too hot. Water also kept going too hot or cold
Pros: The staff is very friendly and the ambiente is quite nice.
Cons: The way to the place is not possible to reach with a regular car. We had to walk with our bags for about 15 minutes. The "tower" room is just fitting bed.
Pros: The pool and the cosy place outside
Cons: The cold water in shower
Pros: Great service. Will bring friends with next time
Pros: The location is not too bad. Our room was cleaned whenever we asked and were given extra fresh towels on request.
Cons: It was low season so we were the only people that stayed at the lodge. They didn’t have much at the bar (no cool drinks or water) and the coffee machine was broken.
Pros: The king size bed in the bungalow with aircon was very nice and comfortable. Definitely choose this room it's true value for the little extra money. The aircon was very nice. Showers were nice and hot. Great staff very helpful and friendly. Would stay here again and would definitely recommend this lodge (but do choose the room with king size bed and aircon).
Cons: The Queen sized bed in the bungalow was very uncomfortable. Otherwise nil complaints.
Pros: I felt like i was in a little Oasis. Loved it
Pros: George is super. Beach is great. Atmosphere laid back, cool.
Cons: Nothing much.
Located in Ponta d'Ouro, Kaya Kweru Beach Lodge is by the ocean, a 1-minute drive from Ponta Do Oruo Market and 7 minutes from Signal Hill. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Steps are very kind. Karaoke in the restaurant is fun. It is just right to the beach. .
Cons: I saw many Coco roaches in the living room and kitchin. And AC in the room was too loud so couldn't sleep well. Bathroom needs maintenence. Outside BBQ facility was not clean.
Pros: The food was delicious, especially the clams and the seafood rice. The staff were fantastic.
Cons: Bed was uncomfortable, no wifi in rooms and no way to relax at the end of the day, like to watch a little television.
Pros: Accommodation, bedrooms was not practical for sharing adults. Proprietors ( Victor and Luis ) and staff were excellent! In all a great place for food, atmosphere and position......would go back again for sure!
Cons: Accommodation, bedrooms was not practical for sharing adults.
Pros: The location and staff were friendly and helpful
Cons: The photos on the website helped me make a decision to book but when we arrived at the hotel it wasn't as advertised. The small dingy room they wanted to put us in was way overpriced at ZAR1280 per night though we were upgraded to a apartment but even this was a disappointment due to broken door handles, some lights not working and cleanliness was bad. The place is run down compared to the photos used to advertise it.
Pros: The bar men / waiters were excellent. Food was excellent.
Cons: Great location, pity about the private owned houses in front of the restort that obstructed the sea view. (Doesn't appear on Google Maps), however a quick stroll and you on the beach.
Pros: Good location and relative good food
Cons: Premisses not well conserved 2 AC was not working and we slept on mattress in the living room You can find better options close
Cons: Only issue was no tv reception whereas the other units had theirs working fine . Brought the matter up to reception but was no help at all .
Pros: The Breakfast was great, with a variety to choose from. We had something different every morning. They were very accommodating with changing items to accommodate our diet. Having both breakfast and dinner included in our package was wonderful.
Cons: The pillows were not comfortable and the linen needs replacing, but overall the rooms are very nice.
Cons: The door of our room did not lock. Instead of immediately changing our room, they made us wait for them to try to fix it. They then twice claimed they fixed it, but with a simple turn of the handle, we showed it was not actually fixed and it still did not lock. There was also a 3"x3" hole at the bottom of the door. When we were leaving they tried to add an extra bill for breakfast. Firstly, this bill was never signed and it said explicitly on the menu that breakfast was included in the room rate. Secondly, I think this is a scam since the breakfast cost the same amount as our dinner the previous night which included 4 drinks. Having waved the scam bill for the men ahead of us in line, the proprietor then tried to intimidate my sister and I, not giving us the same courtesy of the men ahead of us in line. He finally caved when he realised my husband was on his way to reception. I think he is afraid of men and tries to bully women.
