cleansiness of the room and bathroom, location it was freezing cold in the room, even after having switched the heating on for several hours. The reception informed me that this is because all of their hotel guests like their rooms freezing cold...
It was a close distance from the station and to the town, a perfect location, although it was on a main road, but this was not a problem as i was at the back of the hotel
Good location, can walk to downtown Alkmaar, parking on site, very freindly staff.
Friendly staff, very close to citycentre, nice breakfast. Room was very hot, even at night.
Size of room, and location
Everything was perfect.
Breakfast and bar in the evening
Excellent value for the money, good for business. Huge corner room, real soap, many room comforts. a defect mentioned is lack of restaurant - but a wide, wide selection of excellent ones available starting 200m away at the historic city center. Free wireless only in the lobby, in rooms very expensive.
It is a very clean, comfortable hotel with a friendly and efficient staff.
Staffs are professional, friendly and helpful. Tall ceiling of the hotel room - I like it.
we were well looked after by the staff and the food was good none
Good central location for our purpose and good connection with Amsterdam by public transporttation The only thing we objected to was the the odor of stale smoke in the hall ways . They should prohibit smoking in hotels and restaurants . Otherwise , we had no complaints. The meal service was excellent
We liked the helpful staff, Breakfast was good . we enjoyed our stay. The way to the room was confusing
Clean and comfortable rooms Lack of help to find the rooms
We were upgraded to an executive room - very comfortable. Being a low-rise hotel, our room was at a considerable distance from the foyer/restaurant/ bars. I have never used the car to get to breakfast in a hotel before!
They could handle more than two to a room and price was competitive. No ice machines. I realize this is par for the course in Europe, but this is a more modern hotel than most..
The pool is real size. The internet speed and coverage is very good. Tha staff is friendly. When you make a reservation specify the exact kind of the room double or twin!
Good breakfast to mach chlorine into swimming pool
this is our 2nd visit in this year and we r convinced that we want to keep going there again. best value for money. excellent staff, swimming pool, for weekend breaks, kids friendly. simply superb!
ease of access from the main road and breakfast distance from lobby to hotel room no plug on sink in bathroom (room 152)
Breakfast far below average, room to small for price, bath room only soap etc for one person, bad organisation (wrong room number, room not clean on arrival)
friendly service. Nice room parking space
Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely rooms, excellent location. We loved the fact the (very good) breakfast was served at the table - it makes a real difference these days. We wíll definitely go back.
Excellent location, very quiet. Room very nicely furnished, with modern shower room. No hooks or shelves in the shower room to hang towels or store items.
Spacious room with extended bathroom facilities no hotel parking but reasonable public parking close to hotel
Rooms well equipped with plenty of room. Lots of attention to decor - if a little camp. Considering they have spent good money on the decor etc, the towels were a bit mean.
free wifi, nice bar and restaurant on main floor, close to everything, free breakfast not really - great value for money. If anything my room was on the street and a bit noisy
LOcation of hotel was wonderful, close to everything. We walked and rented bikes to go places and the train was very close too. The hotel was actually on the wonderful city walking tour. Yes, our room faced the street....terrible sleeping, we were there from Thurs to Monday and the only night we really got any sleep was Sunday night. The street is narrow and all the bar/street noise travelled right up to our room. It was too hot to close the window so ... it was bad. I would ask for an off-street room next time, if I had known.
attention to detail none
Location, ease of parking, un-intrusive staff......
The Hotels location; 10 minute walk from railway station and 2 minutes from centre of town
the hotel was very clean we took tripel room and it was very big and comfortable the staff was very nice. the only thing that was problematic is the hot-there is no aircondision.
We had a room for tree persons, the room was very convenient and roomy.Breakfast was excellent with a large assortment. none
The rooms were comfortable and of good size, and the staff were good. The choice of food for breakfast was very good and well presented. The Hotel was at a good location being just off the motorway and within reasonable walking distance of the town. Parking was ample and free.
Proximity to Cheese market and City center
i was happy to find an iron+board in my room as well as a cofeemachine. the staff at the restaurant was kind. i thought the dinner menu rather poor, i reserved for the dinner offer together with my room reservation.
Very convenienty for az football stadium No swimming pool
General no problem There was no possibility to make some tea at the room, nor there was a fridge
The service at the chinese restaurant.
Very good location, only a few meters away from the bus stops/railway station. Good breakfast, included in the price.
friendly service, supportive, cosy atmosphere 3-Bed room with toilet/shower open to the room, no bathroom-door. More style for a youth hostel.
location poor breakfast
Staff friendly, helpful. Good breakfast. Room clean with large with comfy chairs.
Bed was made of memory foam and amazingly comfy. Cereal and dark bread very nice at breakfast. Room very sparsely furnished and basic. Paying in advance made me feel that I was not trusted. Pqrking axkward. Price quite expensive for standard of room, but Holland is dear generally.
We now the city of Alkmaar, Holland and this hotel is just accross the railroad station and all busses with connections to many parts of the north of Holland. Also Alkmaar is an old city and easy to walk about and of course their famous Friday cheesemarket during summertime is interesting to visitors. No, we liked it. People have to realize this "hotel" is actually a number of small homes transformed into rooms for visitors. Good breakfast and also dinners.
Friendly staff. Good location
very close to train station and near to the city center, breakfast was very good, staff was nice and helpful, bathroom was large and useable
Parking is a problem, overnight parking has to be in the station car park. The room we stayed was accessed from reception (which is the bar area) via the street, the room although clean was very basic
The friendliness of the staff. The quality and good value of the food. Lack of on-site car parking. Room facilities a bit basic.
Very convenient for the beaches and town of Alkmaar. Pleasant surroundings The breakfast buffet looked disappointing for the price so we chose not to have it
Room confort Breakfast is not very varied, food is provided in very small quantities and is missing rapidly. Some efforts are recommended to improve breakfast quality.
Quiet location, vast parking, large room, free WiFi at the reception and bar, large bed, good rate sometimes, easy to find, excellent restaurant (good value 3-course dinner). WiFi in room with charges, but cheap (€5 for 24h), location noisy at the last stay, due to construction works on the back of the hotel, street on the back noisy in the morning (garbage trucks backuping).
good place for travel by car in this zone
Friendly staff and comfortable rooms in a great setting with countryside views within easy reach of Amsterdam as well as seaside resorts such as Zandvoort and Egmond-en-Zee. There were only a couple of English speaking TV channels, but I didn't go there to watch TV, so it wasn't that important.
Friendly personnel. Nice Bar & Restaurant. Ample parking Dinner service slightly slow
Very good location and friendly staff. Very convenient to have bicycles for rent on premises. Restaurant was quite good for evening meals. Would have appreciated brewed coffee instead of from a machine for Breakfast. Breakfast offerings were depleted by large tour groups on one morning. And too many items prepackaged in plastic. Gave a less personal feeling. Was charged 12.50 euro for a lunch packet which simply had the same items offered for breakfast.
staff were very friendly and helpfull the taxi service we used doubled from the day we arrived which was not the hotels fault
Friendly and helpful staff Bedroom carpet required cleaning, possibly stained by coffee/juice otherwise the room was well cleaned every day.
Easy to find, vast parking, large room, large bed, free WiFi at the restaurant & lobby. Poor TV channel offer, Charges on WiFI from the room.
Fantastic reclining bed's with large clean room's. It is a very quiet hotel with most guests being 50+ years of age. Location is slightly out of centre.
good size room no
car park is "public" and our car was broken into at 1.30 a.am. Hotel security almost caught thief who made off on bicycle! Later help was 1st class good facilities and comfortable rooms
the room was very clean the breakfast was poor and not very good; the restaurant is to small and there is no place where you can sit and have a drink. we did'nt know it is a " Zorghotel ".
Absolutely Everything Perhaps some relaxing comfy chairs in the lounge bar area.
Very friendly staff and clean rooms.
Very nice and large room, nice staff. The bathroom was in common with the other two appartments.
The Hotel isin a very suprizing location, the room is very comfortable and clean, 5 minuts from the center and we loved it. The only remark is that you shuold mantion in the web site that during the day to come to the adress of the book store.
I would go back to Alkmaar just to stay at this family hotel again. It was so nice and comfortable, that we did not want to leave to do sight seeing. It is in the middle of the shopping district and very close to the cheese market, so you can easily pop back to use your own bathroom facilities rather than public ones.
The area was very clean with towels, dishes, TV, movies. A great place to stay with everything you need.
location to the shops seagulls and church bells keeping me awake.
The location of the hotel is excellent as it is right in the centre of town and very close to all the shops and nightlife. The rooms were very big, clean and comfortable.
We liked the large space, especially for two families with small children we had fun. The interior is modern and luxury decorated. We could make use of the kitchen. The third appartment was not occupied so we had the whole place for ourselves. The owner is very helpful. The views from the hotel are on the roof in between the shops in the walking area. The breakfast was very basic, but there is a good bakery next to the hotel.
It was great to be able to cook for ourselves after 2 weeks of dining out and do some much needed laundry. The location was great and the appartment is huge and very well appointed. I wish we had known that we had to go through the shop on the other side of the building to check-in or call the person. Since we couldn't read the sign that was probably saying to do so, and the booking didn't mention anything about it, we saw a phone number and my husband had to track a pay phone all over town to be able to check-in. I would suggest that booking.com mention that point in their hotel description or the booking voucher.
Use of kitchen was great. Nice spacious rooms, good location, fair price. Friendly owners. The bathroom is shared, and the door to access it is in the dining area. You have little privacy using the bathroom if people are eating. It is a bit of a poor layout. Noisey rooms - church bells, thin walls, noisey soda machine in hall.
Location was good. Restaurant on premises and bike rental available. Most important, they did not take VISA credit cards (only Mastercard and American Express!) which left me in a bind for cash at the last moment, on the way to the airport. The "hotel" is actually rooms above a rather noisy bar. The staff were very busy running the bar, although they did take time out to try and help me to find a taxi when I understood too late, that 24 hours advance notice was needed to go to the airport. At 80 euro a night (not including breakfast) I felt that it was a bit overpriced, compared to another hotel I stayed at in the area (Hof Van Holland in Noordwijk).
NIce small hotel. Stayed only one night so not much experience
The staff was very friendly and cooperative. Our reservation was not on their list even though we had a print of the online reservation. They made all efforts to organize things as quickly as possible.
