Pros: Very good.
Cons: Very good
Pros: Fantastic stay in this typical German style pension. I was made very welcome by the owner whose English was excellent. In fact, my stay was so good I booked a second night to give me chance to explore the area on motorbike and to visit Edersee. Rooms (changed room for second night as not possible to have the first) were comfortable and clean. The whole place had a lovely laid back feel to it. Its crowning glory was the breakfast - I've been traveling for two weeks and this was far superior to all the others (including a couple of very up market hotels in Czech). Everything you could imagine for breakfast was available - I even noticed smoked salmon and caviar! Quality of all the food was top rate.
Pros: The manager took care of us extremely well.
Pros: Great location , view and staff. Comfortable rooms. Great breakfast.
Cons: No elevatior.

Pros: I really appreciate the friendliness of the staffs. It was like staying at home. Whatever we asked, the staffs answered in a wonderful manner. For example, I emailed them that I would like to book a room with a nice view, and they really did! Plus, they sent us an email that they booked a room with a nice view for us. How kind! Also, we could use the dining area freely. We could bring our own food and use the facilities (toaster, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee machine). Wow, what a nice stay!
Pros: Family owned little villa with very nice rooms. Very friendly staff. Offering free tee and coffee at all times and a small buffet with sausage, cheese and other stuff to help yourself. Free parking. Located just a minute from the old town this place is great to explore the city.
Cons: Unfortunately you have to get breakfast at recommended cafes down the road - no breakfast service in house (although this isn't too bad, they give you a discount at these places if you show the hotel voucher).

Pros: The breakfast was amazing!!!! The hotel is a bit old and it was pricy for what you get.
Pros: Sauna & massage were great to find in-house.
Pros: The room was a good size so was the bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. Free car parking and an easy walk to restaurants and town centre.
Cons: There was nothing not to like. Internet in the room was unreliable.
Pros: Location close to restaurants.
Cons: The bar in the basement next to the gaming machines was not very inviting.
Pros: SPA was excelled addition to your overall experience at this place. Hotel provides Bike rental service. We could borrow 2 electric mountain bikes in the excellent condition for 6 eur for a half day.

Pros: Friendly welcome late evening and very good kitchen. Genuine German and value for money!
Pros: Very pleasant stay. Owner is very nice and helpful.
Pros: Comfortable room in a historic country gasthof in a tranquil small village. Enjoyed a good regional dinner on a nice patio by a pretty canal which flowed under the building! Friendly welcome by owner/chef and excellent service at dinner by young man who spoke excellent English and happy to help us with the menu
Cons: Our bathroom could use some updating. Some fresh fruit and yogurt would be a welcome additional to a nice breakfast!
Pros: Staff, the restaurant and the very good continental breakfast included
Pros: The location, the building with five centuries of history, and mostly: the way we felt welcome by the staff. German countryside hospitality at its finest, really. Did I mention we were travelling with a rather big dog? Not a single problem here (where said dog isn't exactly a good boy). With the proximity of the national park, this is a great place for hikers and biking, of which we did quite some. Needless to say I haven't slept this well for a long time.
Cons: I could think of some minor detail here, but then again: no. Nothing bothering me.
With a stay at Hotel Birkenstern in Bad Wildungen, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Edersee Dam and Bad Wildungen City Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Good breakfast in a nice breakfast room. Loved having a fridge and coffee maker in our room.
Cons: We had a little trouble with closing the shower doors to stop the water from leaking on the floor.
Pros: The warmth of the staff especially the owner Mr. Mikel he was so helpful and generous and understanding that’s makes me feel at home
Pros: Very clean hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast good but very repetitive and limited.
Cons: No elevator! I was glad I had my portable mattress topper with me as a the beds are not for bad backs. No pictures on the walls, therefore less cozy. Towels need renewing. I had ONE half empty small tube of shower gel/shampoo for 3 nights.
Pros: Two rooms I booked are really spotless and clean. I stayed three nights and felt comfortable. Besides, staffs are nice and love to help when I have problems.
Cons: I think that an electric kettle for hot water is necessary.

The village of Bergfreiheit belongs to the spa town of Bad Wildungen, which is just a 7-minute drive away. The lovely Edersee lake is only a 30-minute drive away.
Pros: The staff was the best and the cheese cake was excellent :)
Pros: The place, although a bit out of fashion, was quiet and comfortable. When I asked for a room change because of heavy smoking smell it was immediately changed. Dinner on the spacious terrace was good and mildly priced.
Cons: All rooms are non-smoking but they put ashtrays in the rooms (so people don't throw their buds from the balcony, as I was told) but this encourages smoking in the rooms. A big non-smoking sticker and ashtrays outside would be better.
Pros: Good, small hotel in a village in beautiful mountainous area. Horse and chickens in the backyard and nice walks by the nearby pastures. Easy parking, elevator, good restaurant.
Pros: We found the quietness and location very peaceful. The air and water so clean and fresh. The crystals in the hotel are truly mgical and the biggest I have seen. It gives the hotel a special energy.
Cons: Just the pillow were a bit soft , but they supplied us with more. That is all.
Pros: Perfect hotel in a lovely setting. Exceeded our expectations. The food at the hotel was superb. Will definitely stay here again.
