Flight Policies

Configure flight policies based on cabin class, budget, flight durations, international vs domestic and booking window for specified groups. Travelers will have visibility into their policy limits as they search for travel as well as clear indicators of what is in or out of policy.

You can configure your flight travel policy based on the following conditions:

  1. Maximum Cabin Class: Define the highest cabin class permitted for your travelers.
  2. Budget: Choose to set a fixed budget or maintain a dynamic approach with the lowest logical price plus additional $$.
  3. Book in Advance: Determine the number of days travelers should book in advance for trips.
  4. Region: Apply the policy to specific regions to match your company’s travel needs.
  5. Group Customization: Tailor the policy to distinct employee groups for a personalized travel experience.

Once your policy has been configured, as a traveler, you’ll find all the essential information on your policy when you conduct your search. Not only will the overall corporate policy be presented in the search results but within each search result, KAYAK for business will clearly display if that result is in or out of policy, along with policy details. If a result falls outside the policy, it will provide a transparent explanation of why it doesn’t meet the criteria, ensuring you’re well-informed every step of the way.

You can choose your policy mode between Dynamic and Manual.

A dynamic policy essentially sets a dynamic budget which defines the max allowed flight price as a percentage above the lowest price for a given search.

You can specify whether the lowest price is based on the cheapest offer (regardless of the number of stops), cheapest direct or cheapest with a single stop. 

For enterprise customers with defined policies and specifications, manual is the more appropriate selection.
