Methodology

The presented insights are based on flight searches made on KAYAK, comparing weekly search data from 2026 with the equivalent weeks in 2025, starting from the first full week of January. Data is aggregated on a weekly basis (Monday to Sunday). Travel periods considered include departures between 1 and 12 weeks from each respective search period.

All prices are average prices for economy, round-trip tickets. Prices may vary and savings cannot be guaranteed.

The YoY comparisons provided are not adjusted for seasonal moments, holidays, tourism or special city events, or weather/natural disasters.

The presented insights are based on weekly flight searches made on KAYAK for travel between May 21, 2026 and Sep 8, 2026 (defined as summer travel) from any US airport. Only upcoming travel dates at the time of analysis are included. Search data is aggregated weekly (Monday to Sunday), and searches made within 7 days of departure are excluded.

To identify the destinations with the largest airfare price drops, average flight prices from the latest available week are compared with those from the previous week for the same travel period.
