If you’re wanting to visit La Sagrada Familia try to get a ticket early or late in the day, so the sun casts beautiful rainbow 🌈 light inside. A visually stunning experience!
The Caribbean
Check out Maho Beach on the Dutch side of the island, which is super welcoming of all people. While there, airplanes will take off and land right next to you, giving you an amazing experience. Be careful not to leave your belongings on the beach though – they are likely to blow into the ocean 🙂
Spain
Sitges, Spain has long welcomed the LGBTQ+ community with beaches and authentic bars, cafes and restaurants. Every year they host several events, including International Bears week, with guys from all over the world celebrating body positivity.
Canary Islands
My husband and I are nudists and we love Fuerteventura. If you walk across Jandia natural park, which looks like the surface of Mars, you will see no people during your 6 hour-walk. And there are so many empty beaches along the way that can be your private beaches until you reach the end of the park.
Iceland
My girlfriend and I spent two weeks in Iceland traveling around the Ring Road. Our stops included an active volcano, two glaciers, black-sand beaches, lava fields, and plenty of waterfalls. Since we traveled in September, we had the opportunity to see the the aurora borealis while still enjoying warm days. The two stops we recommend most are Landmannalaugar and Snæfellsnes peninsula.
Hawaii
When in Honolulu, make sure you get down to Waikiki beach for sunset. To avoid the crowds, walk along the water in front of the hotels on the North end of the beach. You’ll pass iconic properties like the Moana Surfrider and the Royal Hawaiian, but then the path narrows and you’ll get a smaller patch of beach to yourself and the locals!
New York
NYC at New Year’s and Broadway on a budget: Don’t pay full price for a show – wait till the day and loads of rush seats and lotteries will become available. We saw 10 shows in 8 days! Never paid more than around USD50-60 per ticket!

Cross off two iconic Queer venues in one night in NYC – start at The Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, one of the pivotal places that launched the Pride movement. Then head across the street to Marie’s Crisis Cafe. Sing your heart our in their acoustic piano bar while downing a juicy cocktail.
Panama
If you’re looking for that Bora Bora/Maldives/Fiji overwater bungalow experience, but need to do it on a budget, check out Panama! At a fraction of the cost, my husband and I spent our honeymoon diving directly from our front porch into the ocean.
Costa Rica
Don’t sleep on Costa Rica’s rainy season! Who knew sunrise thunderstorms were a thing?! Not this East Coaster…
Bolivia
If you are looking for something unique and interesting, check out the salt flats in Uyuni, Bolivia. The world’s largest salt flat (over 10,000 square kilometers) offers really unique visual effects and experiences because it is so flat and expansive. But be careful – the elevation is extremely high, so bring an oxygen tank with you!
