From visiting the Citadel in Amman – home to the Temples of Hercules and Umayyad – to a buoyant float in the Dead Sea, the experiences to be had are vast and varied.
3. Underwater adventures await.
With around 17 miles of coastline, the Gulf of Aqaba is perfect for snorkeling in the mineral-rich waters of the Red Sea. 4. The hiking views are hard to beat.
If you’re an experienced hiker, the trek from Dana to Petra has everything you need. You’ll pass through many of the country’s cultural sites and diverse ecosystems with opportunities to camp out under the stars. Because the trail can be challenging, private or small group tours are available and provide local guides.
