Day 1: Kicking it off in Sonora

Start your tour of Hill Country in Sonora where you can discover what lies underground and indulge in delicious eats.

Webb’s Roadside Grill

This hidden gem is only open on Friday and Saturday from 5-8 PM so be sure to plan ahead. Fridays typically feature all-you-can-eat Cajun shrimp boils, so come hungry!

Caverns of Sonora

Listed as a National Natural Landmark, visitors can go on guided tours taking in the stunning crystals that cover the cave. The cave is surprisingly warm due to the humidity so extra layers are typically not needed.

Day 2: Discovering Fredericksburg

As you continue your tour of the Texas Hill Country, spend some time in Fredericksburg to explore natural wonders, outstanding wineries and captivating history.

GF Ranch Trail Rides

Requiring no previous experience, these guided horseback riding tours are a unique way to take in the beautiful vistas. Be sure to wear long pants, closed-toed shoes and sunscreen!

Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

Standing over 400-feet high, this stunning pink granite dome is a can’t miss! Reservations are required for camping and day passes during the weekends and holidays so be sure to reserve ahead of time.

National Museum of the Pacific War

Opening in 1967, this museum strives to honor the men and women who served in the Pacific War. Perfect for the whole family, be prepared to spend a few hours here to properly take in all the information and exhibits.

Wildseed Farms

The expansive wildflower fields bloom at Wildseed Farms from March through October. Visitors can roam the grounds to take in the stunning scenery – be sure to check out the market to buy your own wildflower seeds!

Hilmy Cellars – Vineyards, Winery & Tasting Room

This artisan winery offers a variety of red, white, rose and sparkling wines. With live music on the patio, sheep roaming the grounds and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the perfect place to kick back and relax.

Day 3: Taking in Austin

From world-class restaurants to outdoor adventure to classic summer afternoons at the ballpark, there is so much culture to discover across Austin.

Dell Diamond

Home to the Triple-A affiliate for the Texas Rangers, The Round Rock Express, Dell Diamond offers a quintessential ballpark experience. For affordable tickets, great food and a relaxing afternoon, be sure to check if they’ll be playing while you’re visiting.

Live Love Paddle

Rent a kayak or paddleboard to explore Lady Bird Lake in a new way! They also offer bat watching tours where you can traverse under the Congress Avenue Bridge to see the nightly exodus of bats that call the bridge home.

Odd Duck

Started in 2009 by two brothers, this eatery offers food with all ingredients sourced locally. Diners absolutely rave about the food and often suggest over-ordering so you can experience as much of the incredible menu as possible!

Loro

Created by James Beard award-winning chefs, this Asian smokehouse and bar is a unique experience you can’t miss. Diners love the relaxed atmosphere, shady outdoor seating and, of course, the stellar menu.

Hamilton Pool

This stunning natural oasis is a photographer’s dream – your feed can thank us later. Reservations are required to visit the park, and there is currently no swimming allowed due to falling rocks, but the views still make the trip worth it!

Day 4: San Marcos and New Braunfels

There is so much left to explore in the Texas Hill Country! From Ghost Towns to water adventures to laid-back dining, learn about some of the top things to do in the area.

Meadows Center Glass-Bottom Boat Tours

These boat tours run daily making it easy to fit into your itinerary! Guests can take in the views of Spring Lake through the glass-bottom boats that offers a unique view into what exists under the surface.

Rio Vista Park

With no reservations required and free parking, this park is accessible for the whole family. The Falls on the San Marcos rivers just recently reopened allowing visitors to take in these stunning views once again!

Blue Dahlia Bistro

This European-style bistro has locations in both San Marcos and Austin. This establishment is open until 3 PM daily making it a locals’ favorite for delicious, savory brunch.

Gruene Historic District

Step back in time to historic buildings that date back to the 19th century when German cotton farmers called the town home. With local shops scattered throughout, visitors can enjoy the town while taking in its history.

The Barn

While in Gruene, be sure to stop at The Barn for homemade pottery and other collectibles. Started in 1982, this family-run business has been sharing its incredible pieces with the community for decades.

Museum of Texas Handmade Furniture

For a different museum experience, consider visiting this historic home in New Braunfels. Guided tours from knowledgeable and friendly offer the opportunity to learn some unique history!

Schlitterbahn Waterpark New Braunfels

An aptly named waterpark, Schlitterbahn means slippery road in German. From lazy rivers to tube shoots to kids’ areas, there is truly something for everyone to experience.

Rockin’ R – Comal

If you still haven’t gotten your water adventure fix, try renting a tube to enjoy the Comal River in a new way. Rock R’ offers a private exit on the river allowing guests to avoid the crowds and focus on the natural beauty surrounding them.

Huisache Grill

Located in the historic downtown of New Braunfels, this restaurant offers contemporary cuisine showcasing local ingredients. Locals rave about the outdoor seating on the patio, which is dog friendly, and the excellent menu.

Natural Bridge Caverns

Go underground the explore the dazzling rock and crystal formations! With multiple guided tour options, you’re sure to find the one right for you. The temperature inside the cabin is typically around 70 degrees, so extra layers are often not needed.
